• Lucene unexpectedly gives different results when operator of search words changes

  I am using Lucene with Java. In the index I have a single document with a single name:value-field text:alabama oklahoma When I search for +alabama -oklahoma it returns no results, as expected. However, when I search for -alabama +oklahoma it returns the single document as a match to the query. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour? Any ideas on why this happens?

• Run multiple copies of an app from Visual Studio

  How can I run multiple copies of the same app in Debug with Visual Studio? For instance, how do I run app.exe /option1 and app.exe /option2 and still debug both? I know I can run them manually and then attach, but I want an automated solution. I have tried writing a small console app just to run 2 processes, but obviously they are not being run under debugger. Any ideas?

• How do I change the build's SDK version in Xcode?

  I'm using Xcode 2.5 on Mac 10.4.11 PPC. javac -version returns 1.5.x yet when I imported my source code and tried to build it in Xcode, I get errors all over because generics, annotations, and for-each loops are not supported in -source 1.3. I thought I found the setting to change the source version in Xcode in the above but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

  I'm running Groovy Version: 1.7.0 JVM: 1.6.0_17 (Update -- I just upgraded to 1.7.1 and get the same errors!) I've tried to use enums, using the exact syntax from the groovy documentation, and each time I see the compile error: Groovy:The class java.lang.Enum refers to the class java.lang.Enum and uses 1 parameters, but the referred class takes no parameters Any ideas on what's going on?   Hi recently I finished my WM6 Pro.6.1 application and happily learned that to put it into marketplace, it has to pass some tests. -Application Verifier -Microsoft Hopper Test Tool for Windows Mobile 6.0, 6.1, and 6.5 I use VS 2008 and windows mobile 6.1 and I couldnt run none of these tests, Hopeer tool has a FocusApp c++ application which I must build and run before testing, but its a VS 2005 project and I couldnt run it on VS 200..and without it I can't test anything. any ideas how can I build that for VS2008?

• Can I delay window.open()?

  So here is my basic problem. The user clicks the save button. Use Ajax to save the content via code-behind. THEN open a new window that loads the content from the DB. I just need a way to not open the window until the content has been saved. Right now it immediately opens a new window and the content isn't all saved yet. Any ideas?

• How to break out of a loop depending on a CheckBox Checked value while the loop is running?

  Lets say I want to call a function repeatedly if the user selects a CheckBox named "repeat" but the calls to the function should stop as soon as the user 'unchecks' the CheckBox. I tried using the 'Checked', 'Click' and 'Tap' event of the CheckBox but once the loop starts, it does not sense any changes in the checkbox's state. I even tried using a loop inside another button's _Click method, but then that creates a lock on the Button's 'pressed' state. Any ideas/alternate suggestions?

With the new Microsoft BI solutions, it seems like they are completely going away from ProClarity and replacing the OLAP analysis with Excel. I understand the with SharePoint and integration with PerformancePoint and reporting services the dashboards and reports would be done in SharePoint but what about the analysis? Any ideas?

• IE font size decrease does not cause select box height to decrease

  I have a font resize function on my page which increases the font size via javascript for the entire page. This works fine in most browsers except IE. When decreasing the font size after increasing it, the select boxes new height does not decrease, even though the font size is decreasing on it. Instead the smaller font appears to be padded with white space. Any ideas as to what IE is doing here, and a work around?
