    Given a potentially huge integer value (in c# string format), I want to be able to generate it's hex equivalent. Normal methods don't apply here as we are talking arbitrarily large numbers, 50 digits or more. The techniques I've seen which use a technique like this: // Store integer 182 int decValue = 182; // Convert integer 182 as a hex in a string variable string hexValue = decValue.ToString("X"); // Convert the hex string back to the number int decAgain = int.Parse(hexValue, System.Globalization.NumberStyles.HexNumber); won't work because the integer to convert is too large.   • Communication between java server and matlab client

    I'd like to establish a server(Java)/client (Matlab) communication using socket. They can send messages to each other. An example shows how to do this in Java server and Java client, http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/networking/sockets/clientServer.html. When I try to rewrite the client part in Matlab, I only can get the first message that the Java server sends and display it in the Matlab command window. When I type a message in the Matlab command window, I can't pass it to the Java Server. Jave code: kkSocket = new Socket("localhost", 3434); Matlab equivalent: kkSocket = Socket('localhost', 3434); Java code for client: out = new PrintWriter(kkSocket.getOutputStream(), true); in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(kkSocket.getInputStream())); What would be a Matlab equivalent for this?     I have a std::multiset which stores elements of class A. I have provided my own implementation of operator< for this class. My question is if I insert two equivalent objects into this multiset is their order guaranteed? For example, first I insert a object a1 into the set and then I insert an equivalent object a2 into this set. Can I expect the a1 to come before a2 when I iterate through the set? If no, is there any way to achieve this using multiset?

  • Python: Trying to get index of an intersection

    I have the following line of code: for i in [i for i,x in enumerate(catdate) if x == set(NNSRCfile['datetimenew']).intersection(catdate)]: print i I am trying to find the index of the intersection for the two components above. Both are lengthy lists that have several commonalities. The intersection part works perfectly; however, the for loop seems to output nothing. (ie: there is nothing that is printed). Python outputs no error, and when I run the code in IPython, I notice that i is equivalent to to the very last element in the list "catdate", instead of listing the indices of "catdate" that are equivalent to the intersection values. Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi, I have this sql statement SELECT * FROM Language WHERE LanguageCode=? where LanguageCode is a varchar(2). When I use sqlite3-prepare-v2 on that statement I got SQLITE_ERROR but if I use SELECT * FROM Language WHERE LanguageID=? where LanguageID is the primary key numeric identity field the statement compiles just fine. Is there any issue filtering by a varchar field using WHERE statement? Thanks

  • How to access USB ports in java

    Hi I'm trying to write a java application that accesses the usb ports to some read and writes to a device connected through usb. The problem I face is that I don't know what exactly to use in java to do such a thing. I searched online a found something called jusb but all the post seem fairly old. Currently I'm using the RXTX libraries but I sometimes run into some sync error. When I use C# to do the equivalent it requires far less code and I don't face any of the same sync error. My question is there anything built into the latest version of the JRE I can use to access the usb ports that is just as easy as the equivalent C# code? Sorry if the question isn't too clear, I'm fairly noob with coding usb IO.
