  • Crashes in Core Data's Inferred Mapping Model Creation (Lightweight Migration). Threading Issue?

    I'm getting random crashes when creating an inferred mapping model (with Core Data's lightweight migration) within my application. By the way, I have to do it programmatically in my application while it is running. This is how I create this model (after I have made proper currentModel and newModel objects, of course): NSMappingModel *mappingModel = [NSMappingModel inferredMappingModelForSourceModel:currentModel destinationModel:newModel error:&error]; The problem is this: This method is crashing randomly. When it works, it works just fine without issues. But when it crashes, it crashes my application (instead of returning nil to signify that the method failed, as it should). By randomly, I mean that sometimes it happens and sometimes not. It is unpredictable. Now, here is the deal: I'm running this method in another thread. More precisely, it is located inside a block that is passed via GCD to run on the global main queue. I need to do this for my UI to appear crisp to the user, i.e. so that I can display a progress indicator while the work is underway. The strange thing seems to be that if I remove the GCD stuff and just let it run on the main thread, it seems to be working fine and never crashing. Thus, could it be because I'm running this on a different thread that this is crashing? I somehow find that weird because I don't believe I'm breaking any Core Data rules regarding multi-threading. In particular, I'm not passing any managed objects around, and whenever I need access to the MOC, I create a new MOC, i.e. I'm not relying on any MOC (or for that matter: anything) that has been created earlier on the main thread. Besides the little MOC stuff that occurs, occurs after the mapping model creation method, i.e. after the point at which the app crashes, so it can't possibly be a cause of the crashes under consideration here. All I'm doing is taking two MOMs and asking for a mapping model between them. That can't be wrong even under threading, now can it? Any ideas on what could be going on?

I know many of them are equivalent, and found some other questions about that here in SO, but I would like to know your definitions and comments about them.     As noted by the title, what is the best way to configure an IIS 6.0 deployment of an ASP.NET MVC application such that connections to hidden shares are ignored? The application in question is using wildcard mapping to allow for clean URLs since we are planning on upgrading to IIS 7.0 in the near future and we are also handling the caching and compression issues with a custom library so we would like to avoid turning wildcard mapping off unless absolutely necessary.     Psuedo code for mapping configuration (as below) is not possible since the lambda only lets us access Type IDataReader, wheras when actually mapping, AutoMapper will reach into each "cell" of each IDataRecord while IDataReader.Read() == true: var mappingConfig = Mapper.CreateMap<IDataReader, IEnumerable<MyDTO>>(); mappingConfig.ForMember( destination => destination.???, options => options.MapFrom(source => source.???)); Can anyone think of a way to do this using AutoMapper configuration at runtime or just some other dynamic approach that meets the requirement below. The requirement is to support any incoming IDataReader which may have column names that don't match the property names of MyDTO and there is no naming convention I can rely on. Instead we'll ask the user at runtime to cross-reference the expected column names with the actual column names found in the IDataReader via IDataReader.GetSchemaTable().

    I don't know why does "xsd:date" of XML Schema Type mapped "javax.xml.datatype.XMLGregorianCalendar" When Schema-to-Java Mapping of JAXB does. Why does "xsd:date" of XML Schema Type mapped "java.util.Date" ? I guess that JAXB intentionally does its mapping. I want to know that reason if any. And if exists it, how to change "xsd:date" of XML Schema Type to "java.util.Date" of Java class without using annotation(ex.@XmlJavaTypeAdapter). I want to do mashalling and unmarshalling without all annotations.

  • Agile methodologies. Is it a by-product of mind control techniques as NLP / Scientology?

    The more I read about contemporary methods combinging scrum, tdd and xp, the more I feel like I already seen the methods. I am not arguing that agile approach is much more progressive than older rigid structures like waterfall, what I am saying is that it seems to me that agile methodologies are ideal to be used as a nest for a brainwashing business. I read few articles which kept referring to authors which I checked afterwards and they call themselves - coaches, trainers (usual thing when NLP specialists are involved) with no apparent software development history. Also I met a guy who is a scrum faciltator (term widly used in relation to scientology) in a high profile company. I talked to him less than 5 min but I got complete feeling that he is either on drugs or he has been programmed by a powerful NLP specialist. The way to talk and his body movements witnessed he is not an average normal person (in terms of normal distribution :))... Please dont get me wrong. I am not a fun of conspiracy theories. But I had an experience with a member of church of scientology tried to invade a commercial firm and actually went half way through to very top in just 3 weeks. I saw his work. For now I have complete impression is that psycho manipulators are now invading IT industry through the convenient door of agile techniques. Anyone has the same feeling/thoughts?

    Hi, I have a web app, I want to define my index.jsp file to be shown when the entered url is like: www.mysite.com www.mysite.com/ www.mysite.com/index.jsp but if any other url is entered, like: wwww.mysite.com/g I want a particular servlet to handle the request. In my web.xml file, I am doing this: <servlet> <servlet-name>ServletCore</servlet-name> <servlet-class>com.me.test.ServletCore</servlet-class> </servlet> <servlet-mapping> <servlet-name>ServletCore</servlet-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </servlet-mapping> so that is letting the ServletCore servlet pick up any url, but as expected it is taking over even the: www.mysite.com/index.jsp type urls. How can I define it in such a way to work how I want? Thank you

    Recently, Here at the company, more than one programmer was appointed in charge for a LightSwitch(C#) software development project and immediately there was a need of some sort of source control/sync. We have never used Team Foundation Server but we'd gladly use it if it's worth it. Is it the right tool to use for synchronising code between programmers? Does it have the needed features? Do you have any other tool in mind? (I have used TortoiseSVN but it was too simple and 'texty' if you know what I mean, we need a professional tool) What other features does Team Foundation has that we can use?     In this article, I will provide examples on how to configure OIF/IdP to map OAM Authentication Schemes to Federation Authentication Methods, based on the concepts introduced in my previous entry. I will show examples for the three protocols supported by OIF: SAML 2.0 SSO SAML 1.1 SSO OpenID 2.0 Enjoy the reading! Configuration As I mentioned in my previous article, mapping Federation Authentication Methods to OAM Authentication Schemes is protocol dependent, since the methods are defined in the various protocols (SAML 2.0, SAML 1.1, OpenID 2.0). As such, the WLST commands to set those mappings will involve: Either the SP Partner Profile and affect all Partners referencing that profile, which do not override the Federation Authentication Method to OAM Authentication Scheme mappings Or the SP Partner entry, which will only affect the SP Partner It is important to note that if an SP Partner is configured to define one or more Federation Authentication Method to OAM Authentication Scheme mappings, then all the mappings defined in the SP Partner Profile will be ignored. WLST Commands The two OIF WLST commands that can be used to define mapping Federation Authentication Methods to OAM Authentication Schemes are: addSPPartnerProfileAuthnMethod() to define a mapping on an SP Partner Profile, taking as parameters: The name of the SP Partner Profile The Federation Authentication Method The OAM Authentication Scheme name addSPPartnerAuthnMethod() to define a mapping on an SP Partner , taking as parameters: The name of the SP Partner The Federation Authentication Method The OAM Authentication Scheme name Note: I will discuss in a subsequent article the other parameters of those commands. In the next sections, I will show examples on how to use those methods: For SAML 2.0, I will configure the SP Partner Profile, that will apply all the mappings to SP Partners referencing this profile, unless they override mapping definition For SAML 1.1, I will configure the SP Partner. For OpenID 2.0, I will configure the SP/RP Partner SAML 2.0 Test Setup In this setup, OIF is acting as an IdP and is integrated with a remote SAML 2.0 SP partner identified by AcmeSP. In this test, I will perform Federation SSO with OIF/IdP configured to: Use LDAPScheme as the Authentication Scheme Use BasicScheme as the Authentication Scheme Map BasicSessionScheme  to  the urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:Password Federation Authentication Method Use OAMLDAPPluginAuthnScheme as the Authentication Scheme Map OAMLDAPPluginAuthnScheme to  the urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:PasswordProtectedTransport Federation Authentication Method LDAPScheme as Authentication Scheme Using the OOTB settings regarding user authentication in OAM, the user will be challenged via a FORM based login page based on the LDAPScheme. Also the default Federation Authentication Method mappings configuration maps only the urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:PasswordProtectedTransport to LDAPScheme (also marked as the default scheme used for authentication), FAAuthScheme, BasicScheme and BasicFAScheme. I need to be able to perform the same or similar function on my PC installed with Ubuntu 10.04 (LTS). I would like to plug the camera in (USB), and then be able to select the files I want. At the moment, the camera does not seem to recognise the PC. I do not want to rely on the Windows PC anymore.

    Dear programmers, as part of my final year university project, I am conducting research into what makes programmers prefer to program for Android as opposed to other mobile operating systems. The description does not need to be detailed however, I am trying to find patterns between programmers to determine what properties (other than money) a software company such as Android must have in order to attract programmers and therefore grow.
