• How to use sudo with WinSCP and ProFTPd?

  I need to run the SFTP fileserver binary as root, but direct root login is not allowed. In WinSCP, if I use "default" on SFTP server protocol option everything works as expected. Following the instructions to sudo in WinSCP, I tried using "sudo /usr/sbin/proftpd" (works on the command line without any prompts) but it brings up "Cannot initialize SFTP protocol. Is the host running a SFTP server?" How to use sudo with WinSCP and ProFTPd? • Accessing a persistent ssh tunnel

  How do I pass commands (shell) to a persistent SSH tunnel rather than open a connection for every instance? I have a Python scraper running on a client server which passes URL variables and shell commands to a remote host via a reverse tunnel (forwarded port), so that the URL's are then executed on the host (python fabric ssh localhost:12345 'browser open URL'). I could make the reverse tunnel persistent but how do I echo the url/command to the session? Update - ControlMaster (built into SSH) solves this one.

  We use "Copy file.prn to \tsclient\com1" to print from a TS session to a locally attached serial printer. This works fine from Windows XP, but when trying it from a Windows 7 client computer, we get an "Access is denied" error message. And yes, the check box of COM port is selected on the Local Resources tab of the Remote Desktop Connection client. Any pointers? Has anyone even managed to do this successfully?

Using Ricoh UPD 3.10 and every time a user log on into a Citrix Session and get the printers connected (via logon script) Windows shows the "Finishing installation..." dialog for every printer.
