• How to store user-specific data in SharePoint

  I have some user-specific data that I need to store in SharePoint and make accessible to the user through custom webparts. Let's say a list of favorite URLs. What would be the most straightforward way to store this information? Some builtin propertybag for SPUser or similar that I'm not aware of. SPList, associated through User column. Custom database table, associated through SPUser ID. Otherwise? Sounds like a RTFM to me, but I'm probably asking google the wrong questions.

If I've got a package of graphics code for my company, lets call it com.example.graphics, should I include my tests in that package too or should they be included in a seperate package, like com.example.graphics.test? Is there a generic way to capture form inputs on a web page and have them repopulated on a different page load? I thought a tool like greasemonkey might be able to do something like this.

  Hi, In my application I need to display items to the user. He can mark some items as favorites. I need to display those differently. How can I save the favorites on the user's computer? I need something like a config entry ... but I need to change that as the user add/remove the favorites. Do you think that I should save that in registry ... or on the disk in a separate file?   I'm trying to get the user photos, but I cannot get the user's photos data. I'm trying this: $photos = $facebook->api('https://graph.facebook.com/'.$profileFID.'/photos?access_token='.$access_token); print_r($photos); I'm sure the URL is correct since pasting it in the browser shows the photos array. However when I try to print the array to check if I got it I get only this: ( [id] => https://graph.facebook.com/1409006586/photos ) How can I get the full array with the user photos?

• Relationships via Email Rather Than User List

  I'm new at Drupal, so I may have missed a solution despite a lot of research: I want users to be able to invite non-users and other users into a named relationship they've set up (using e.g. the Friendlist or User Relationships module) using only email addresses and not the user list. I believe that invitations from both of those modules are done only after the inviter selects the invitee after selecting the invitee from a list of all users. Frankly, I would be surprised if no email solution exists since a large site's user list would be daunting. Does anyone know if this is possible using Organic Groups? Thanks very much.

  Greetings, Using the Facebook API, I have obtained an OAuth access token for a user. I can use it to retrieve information about the user and post to their wall, etc. I'm trying to figure out how to (or if there is a way to) programmatically get a list of pages a user owns (so that they can be presented in a drop-down list on a third-party site). I have been unable to find such a method in the Facebook API, but I'm hoping I've missed something. Thanks!

I am writing a command line utility, and want to make sure that my tests cover cases where a user may not have all of the gems that I support. For instance, I am using fsevents — a Leopard-specific package for monitoring filesystem events — that will never be present on other systems, as well as a growl gem that's purely optional.

  In C, I am writing a program which is taking in user input than comparing it to see which output it should use. I am finding it problomatic and was wondering if someone could give me a hand. • Pre-cache site as user visits

  I am making a static site which is 'forced' to be cached via Cache-control, etc. When a user visits my site, I want the browser to crawl my site, caching pages, so when the user navigates to a page, the load is almost instant. (I do not need a recursive crawl, as that will probably happen as the user navigates between pages. I just need to crawl the links on the current page, and of course not re-caching a page which has already been cached.) (Also, I am not changing pages using Ajax-like techniques. These are essentially normal flat HTML files with normal links.) How can I do this pre-caching using Javascript? (I am using jQuery.)

  I am trying to use the Google Contacts API to connect to a user's contact information, on my Google apps domain. Generating an access_token using the gdata api's ContactsService clientlogin function while using the API key for my project works fine, but I would prefer to not store the user's credentials, and from the information I have found that method uses OAuth1.0 So, to use OAuth2.0 I have: Generated a Service Account in the developer's console for my project Granted access to the service account for the scope of https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/ in the Google apps domain admin panel Attempted to generate credentials using SignedJwtAssertionCredentials: credentials = SignedJwtAssertionCredentials( service_account_name=service_account_email, private_key=key_from_p12_file, scope='https://www.google.com/m8/feeds/', sub=user_email') The problem I am running into is that attempting to generate an access token using this method fails. It succeeds in generating the token when I remove the sub parameter, but then that token fails when I try to fetch the user's contacts. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

  This is a followup to this question. The accepted answer is generally sufficient, but requires user to supply personal information (e.g. name) for generating the key. I'm wondering if it's possible to generate different keys based on a common seed, in a way that program would be able to validate if those keys belong to particular product, but without making this process obvious to the end user. I mean it could be a hash of product ID plus some random sequence of characters, but that would allow user to guess potential new keys. There should be some sort of algorithm difficult to guess.

Currently when our tests run it pulls from these pages live but this can take ages to run sometimes, and it also feels like the tests should be testing more of our code - not just relying on them being up and responding (if that makes sense..). Is it better practice to save a valid api response and with the unit tests load this in during setup? Thoughts?

But I want those dates to be defined by the user every time the query is executed. I tried using the [] operators to have the user define the criteria in the WHERE, something like this: WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=[Input a Date])) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=[Input a Date])); But microsoft Access throws a Syntax error message. The same happens when I include the # (date operators) like this WHERE (((Transactions.Date)>=#[Input a Date]#)) AND (((Transactions.Date)<=#[Input a Date]#)); Is there anopther way to manage dates that I'm not aware of or is asking a user for dates in a query out of the question

• Performance problem loading lots of user controls

  My application is loading a bunch of the same user control into a ScrollPanel. The problem is, this is very slow. The profiler show that the method Application.LoadComponent(), which is called internally by in the designer code in the constructor of my user control, is the bottleneck. The documentation of this method says, that this method load XAML files. I alway though the compiler compiles XAML to BAML and embedds it into the assembly. So the question is, how can I use BAML instead of XAML? Is there another way to make loading my user controls faster?
