  • Templated function with two type parameters fails compile when used with an error-checking macro

    - by SirPentor
    Because someone in our group hates exceptions (let's not discuss that here), we tend to use error-checking macros in our C++ projects. I have encountered an odd compilation failure when using a templated function with two type parameters. There are a few errors (below), but I think the root cause is a warning: warning C4002: too many actual parameters for macro 'BOOL_CHECK_BOOL_RETURN' Probably best explained in code: #include "stdafx.h" template<class A, class B> bool DoubleTemplated(B & value) { return true; } template<class A> bool SingleTemplated(A & value) { return true; } bool NotTemplated(bool & value) { return true; } #define BOOL_CHECK_BOOL_RETURN(expr) \ do \ { \ bool __b = (expr); \ if (!__b) \ { \ return false; \ } \ } while (false) \ bool call() { bool thing = true; // BOOL_CHECK_BOOL_RETURN(DoubleTemplated<int, bool>(thing)); // Above line doesn't compile. BOOL_CHECK_BOOL_RETURN((DoubleTemplated<int, bool>(thing))); // Above line compiles just fine. bool temp = DoubleTemplated<int, bool>(thing); // Above line compiles just fine. BOOL_CHECK_BOOL_RETURN(SingleTemplated<bool>(thing)); BOOL_CHECK_BOOL_RETURN(NotTemplated(thing)); return true; } int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { call(); return 0; } Here are the errors, when the offending line is not commented out: 1>------ Build started: Project: test, Configuration: Debug Win32 ------ 1>Compiling... 1>test.cpp 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(38) : warning C4002: too many actual parameters for macro 'BOOL_CHECK_BOOL_RETURN' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(38) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ',' before ')' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(38) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '{' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(41) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '{' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(48) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '{' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(49) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '{' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(52) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '}' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(54) : error C2065: 'argv' : undeclared identifier 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(54) : error C2059: syntax error : ']' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(55) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '{' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(58) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '}' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(60) : error C2143: syntax error : missing ';' before '}' 1>c:\junk\temp\test\test\test.cpp(60) : fatal error C1004: unexpected end-of-file found 1>Build log was saved at "file://c:\junk\temp\test\test\Debug\BuildLog.htm" 1>test - 12 error(s), 1 warning(s) ========== Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ========== Any ideas?   • How do I get a Dane-Elec mp3/mp4 player working?

    - by user40432
    My MP3/MP4 does not plug-in and play and therefore I can not transfer any file to the MP3/MP4 dane-elec music my touch or only dane-elec with 8 gb in memory and perhapses model zt1 with radio,..and microsdhc card slot following the above link the mp3/mp4 is there and it is MP3 Player: TOUCH MY MUSIC and the complete information is on this site http://www.danedigital.com/8-Music-Media-Players/2-music-touch.html as the Technical Specifications MP3 Player: TOUCH MY MUSIC The Mp4 player has a very classy. It allows its users to play music and view photos and video. His fluent interface, its touch-pad, his radio and RDS Micro SDHC reader makes him a very complete device will become the ideal musical companion. ubuntu i am with is ubuntu 11.10 kernel 3.0.0-14-generic the latest I tried to install many applications but nothing worked. With disk utility I can see that Ubuntu can recognize something, that as a peripheral device named rockchip usbdisk user and rockchip usbdisk sd, and i can plug and play other devices, and only this mp3/mp4 do not connect to the computer with ubuntu and the device as no problem working disconnected to computer I try to see if work on Windows and it does! I can see the device and transfer files to the MP3/MP4 dane-elec folder device and use FAT32. So why can not do on Ubuntu!? What can I do and why does not work on Ubuntu? What is wrong with it? I'm sure that many of you have heard about this: http://panopticlick.eff.org/ It's a way to form a somewhat unique fingerprint of a web site visitor based on information about their browser, fonts, plugins, etc... Does anyone know of a library (python!?) to do this? I'd like to allow for visitors to vote on a poll without having to have an account...

    The current form is here. It is not complete, and only a couple options will work. Select "Image CD" and then any resolution and click "Add to Order." The order will be recorded on the server-side, but on the client-side I need to reset the product drop-down to "{select}" so that the user will know that they need to select another product. This is consistant with the idea that the sub-selections disappear. I don't know whether I should be using ASP postback or standard form submittal, and most of the fields need to be reset when the user adds an item to the order.

    public List<Afood> getFoodFromCat(String cat) { String resultado = ""; List<Afood> list = new ArrayList<Afood>(); try { URL xpto = new URL("http://10.0.2.2/webservice/nutrituga/get_food_by_cat.php"); HttpURLConnection conn; conn = (HttpURLConnection) xpto.openConnection(); conn.setDoInput(true); conn.connect(); InputStream is = conn.getInputStream(); DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); try { DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder(); Document doc = db.parse(is); NodeList nl = doc.getElementsByTagName("item"); // resultado = String.valueOf(nl.getLength()); for (int i = 0; i < nl.getLength(); i++) { Node n = nl.item(i); Node childNode = n.getFirstChild(); while (childNode != null) { if (childNode.getNodeType() == Node.ELEMENT_NODE) { if (childNode.getNodeName().equalsIgnoreCase( "NAME_FOOD")) { Node valor = childNode.getFirstChild(); // resultado = resultado + valor.getNodeValue(); list.add(new Afood(valor.getNodeValue(), "", (int) Math.round(Math.random()), 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1)); } } childNode = childNode.getNextSibling(); } } return list; } catch (ParserConfigurationException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (SAXException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e1) { e1.printStackTrace(); } } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } return list; } I have this function that receives a xml and copy it to the list. This is well implemented. What i want do to know, is to send a category (that i receive like an argument of the function) and receive only the food from that category. The server is ready to receive the category and to send the food from that category. What do i have to do to send the category and receive the correct xml?

  • ASP.net - First build fails with 'Unknown server tag'

    - by Sophia
    I have multiple custom controls used on a ASPX (and C#) page registered from within the page rather than in Web.Config. On the first build (or rebuild), build fails with error messages for wherever I've used the custom controls. Subsequent builds are successful. The error message: Unknown server tag 'prefix:ExampleControl'. What might cause this, and how can I fix it? Register syntax: <%@ Register Src="ControlsFolder/ExampleControl.ascx" TagName="ExampleControl" TagPrefix="prefix" %> <!-- etc --> Usage syntax: <prefix:ExampleControl runat="server" ID="ExampleControl1" /> <!-- etc -->

  • Dump characters (glyphs) from TrueType font (TTF) into bitmaps

    - by jpatokal
    I have a custom TrueType font (TTF) that consists of a bunch of icons, which I'd like to render as individual bitmaps (GIF, PNG, whatever) for use on the Web. You'd think this is a simple task, but apparently not? There is a huge slew of TTF-related software here: http://cg.scs.carleton.ca/~luc/ttsoftware.html But it's all varying levels of "not quite what I want", broken links and/or hard to impossible to compile on a modern Ubuntu box -- eg. dumpglyphs (C++) and ttfgif (C) both fail to compile due to obscure missing dependencies. Any ideas?

  • Grails Date Property Editor

    - by Jan
    Hey folks, i'm using the jQuery UI datepicker instead of the <g:datePicker>, which is changing the selected date in a textbox. Now I want to save this neatly back into my database, and came across custom property editors. click me hard to see the topic on StackOverflow However, adding this custom PropertyEditor didn't change anything, dates are still displayed like '2010-01-01 00:00:00.0' and if I try to save a date it crashes with Cannot cast object '05.05.2010' with class 'java.lang.String' to class 'java.util.Date'. Is there any additional magic needed, like a special naming of the textbox or something like that? Thanks for your help, Jan

  • jQuery CSS Custom Flyout Menu Styling Issue

    - by aherrick
    I'm close to nailing this flyout menu I have been working on, just have a couple of current pain points. I'm trying to get left/right padding on my submenu items, as you can see I am not quite there. Also when the first submenu is displayed, I want to create a bit of a gap between the first row of list items and the child. Below is my current code and a screen shot displaying what I want. Based on my current CSS, any thoughts on how to get this done in a clean way? <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> function mainmenu() { $("#nav ul").css({ display: "none" }); // Opera Fix $("#nav li").hover(function() { $(this).find('ul:first').css({ visibility: "visible", display: "none" }).show(400); }, function() { $(this).find('ul:first').css({ visibility: "hidden" }); }); } $(document).ready(function() { mainmenu(); }); </script> <style type="text/css"> * { padding: 0px; margin: 0px; } body { font-size: 0.85em; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } #nav, #nav ul { margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style-type: none; list-style-position: outside; position: relative; } #nav a { display: block; padding: 4px 0px 4px 0px; color: #dfca90; text-decoration: none; background-color: #ECE9D8; font-size: 9px; font-weight: bold; font: bold 15px Palatino, 'Palatino Linotype' , Georgia, serif; } #nav > li > a { font-size: 16px; font-variant: small-caps; border-right: 1px solid #dfca90; padding-right: 10px; padding-left: 10px; padding-bottom: 6px; padding-top: 6px; background-color: #fff; color: #dfca90; } #nav li ul li a:hover { color: #999; } #nav li { float: left; position: relative; } #nav ul { position: absolute; display: none; width: 170px; border: 2px solid #dfca90; } #nav ul li { } #nav li ul a { width: 170px; height: auto; float: left; } #nav ul ul { top: -2px; } #nav li ul ul { left: 170px; background-color: #ECE9D8; } #nav li:hover ul ul, #nav li:hover ul ul ul, #nav li:hover ul ul ul ul { display: none; } #nav li:hover ul, #nav li li:hover ul, #nav li li li:hover ul, #nav li li li li:hover ul { display: block; } </style> </head> <body> <ul id="nav"> <li><a href="#">1 HTML</a></li> <li><a href="#">2 CSS</a></li> <li><a href="#">3 Javascript </a> <ul> <li><a href="#">3.1 jQuery</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">3.1.1 Download</a> </li> <li><a href="#">3.1.2 Tutorial</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="#">3.2 Mootools</a></li> <li><a href="#">3.3 Prototype</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </body> </html>

  • How can I loop through posts as well as child pages to display them all by date in Wordpress 2.9

    - by Craig Dennis
    Some background info -- In wordpress I have my portfolio as a parent page with each item of work a child page. I also have a blog. I want to display the most recent 6 items on the homepage whether they are from my portfolio or my blog. I have a loop that displays the posts and on another page I have a loop that displays the child pages of a specific parent page. I only need to display the_title and the_post_thumbnail. Is it possible to loop through both the posts and the child pages and display them in order of date (recent first). So the final display would be a mixture of posts and child pages. Could it be done by having a separate loop for pages and one for posts, then somehow adding the results to an array and then pull them out in date order (recent first). Any help would be greatful. Thanks

  • 32 and 64 bit assemblies in one windows installer

    - by Giorgi
    Hello, I have an application written in C# which depends on sqlite managed provider. The sqlite provider is platform dependent (there are two dlls for 32 and 64 bit applications with the same name). The application loads the desired one at runtime based on OS. The problem is that while creating an installer I cannot add 64 bit mode dll to the setup project as I am getting the following error: File '' targeting '' is not compatible with the project's target platform ''. I would use other installer but I have a custom action which must be invoked during the setup. So I wanted to know if there is an installer which will let me add 32 and 64 bit dll to it and execute custom action written in C#. One possible solution is to have two installers but I would like to avoid it if possible. Any suggestions?

  • How do I get all values from a listbox that are not selected in ASP.NET MVC

    - by Nick Reeve
    Hello, I have a form that (amongst other things) contains 2 multi-select listboxes. Basically you can add items to the one on the right from the full list of items on the left using some add/remove buttons. The problem is that I cannot see a way of picking up the contents of the listbox when posting back to the controller. I have followed this example: http://ittecture.wordpress.com/2009/04/30/tip-of-the-day-198-asp-net-mvc-listbox-controls/ This works fine if you have actually selected the items in the listbox before posting. That's not really the way I think this UI should behave though. Hope that makes sense, Nick

  • PHP: simple form encoding/decoding

    - by Lennart
    Hi guys, Probably, this question has been asked before, though, I'll ask it again. Currently, I'm facing a problem with form encoding. When posting my form, all spaces are replaced by the "+" character. I would like to replace this "+" character by a real space. Does someone has a PHP solution for this? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Lennart

  • http_post_data adding extra characters in response

    - by Siyam
    Hey Guys I am getting some extra characters like '5ae' and '45c' interspersed along with valid data when using http_post_data. The data I am sending is XML and so is the response. The response contains these weird characters thats making the XML invalid. If I use fsockopen I do not have this issue. Would really like some input on this.

  • Best Approach to process images in Django

    - by primalpop
    I've have an application with Android front end and Django as the back end. As part of the answers here, I'm confused over the approach which I should take to send images to Django Server. I've 2 options at my disposal as Piro pointed out there. 1) Sending images as Multi Part entity 2) Send image as a String after encoding it using Base 64. So I am considering the approach that would make it easy to be processed by Django. The images are small in size (<200kb) and number (<10). Any suggestions or pointers are most welcome.

  • Include error in writing html file from php

    - by Grozav Alex Ioan
    I seem to have some problem with my code here. It creates a file from the php file, but I get an error on the include path. include('../include/config.php'); $name = ($_GET['createname']) ? $_GET['createname'] : $_POST['createname']; function buildhtml($strphpfile, $strhtmlfile) { ob_start(); include($strphpfile); $data = ob_get_contents(); $fp = fopen ($strhtmlfile, "w"); fwrite($fp, $data); fclose($fp); ob_end_clean(); } buildhtml('portfolio.php?name='.$name, "../gallery/".$name.".html"); The problem seems to be here: 'portfolio.php?name='.$name Any way I can replace this, and still send the variable over? Here's the error I get when I put ?name after the php extension: Warning: include(portfolio.php?name=hyundai) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Projects\Metro Web\Coding\admin\create.php on line 15 Warning: include(portfolio.php?name=hyundai) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\Projects\Metro Web\Coding\admin\create.php on line 15 Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening 'portfolio.php?name=hyundai' for inclusion (include_path='.;C:\php\pear') in D:\Projects\Metro Web\Coding\admin\create.php on line 15

  • URL Encoding of Characters in a password field

    - by Alavoil
    I am trying to pass login credentials to a PHP script that I have in my iPhone app. When I pull a password with special characters the password is missing certain characters especially the percent sign. I am trying to encode the text but even before I send it, the percent sign is missing. //password_field is a UITextField holding the password: !@#$%^&*() NSString *tmpPass = [password_field.text stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; NSLog(p_field.text); NSLog(tmpPass); This is what appears in the console: !@#$^&*() [email protected]&*() Is there any reason why it would be dropping the percent sign?

  • Class as an Event Observer

    - by emi
    I want to do something like this... var Color = Class.create({ initialize: function() { this._color = "white"; this.observe("evt: colorChanged", this.colorChanged.bind(this)); }, changeColor: function(color) { this._color = color; this.fire("evt: colorChanged"); }, colorChanged: function(event) { alert("You change my color!"); } }); var a = new Color().changeColor("blue"); Why the colorChange custom event will never be dispatched and I need to use, instead of this, a DOM element like document.observe? In my code I'd like to know which class dispatches the event using event.target and I can't if I must use document or some other DOM element. :( I've been working in Actionscript 3 and that's the methodology I learned to work with custom events in classes. What about Javascript?
