  • Is it possible to obtain ASP.NET membership user name after FormsAuth.SignIn ?

    I have some code that is accessing Membership.GetUser() to get the current logged in user. This works fine until I try to access it immediately after logging in with FormsAuth.SignIn(userName, false); However I noticed that neither Membership.GetUser() nor User.Identity.Name is updated with the newly logged in user until a new request (I assume its reading directly from the Request cookies). This however kind of screws up my logic that accesses Membership.GetUser() becasue it introduces a special case. Question: is there a way to read the current logged in user with ASP.NET membership immediately after logging in. Or will I have to introduce my own abstraction layer to allow me to 'set' a user as being logged in ? (This is in an AJAX request - so i'd rather not do a redirect).

  • Error when changing or resetting FBProfilePictureView profileId

    I have programmatically added an FBProfilePictureView object to a view. When initially logging in, the user's profile picture displays as expected when setting the profileId of the object within the FBLoginViewDelegate method loginViewFetchedUserInfo:user:. However, when logging off the following line of code produces an error: profilePicture.profileId = nil; The error thrown is: [__NSCFNumber isEqualToString:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance Note: This was only an issue after I incrementally upgraded the iOS SDK from 3.5 to 3.8. If anyone has encountered this issue, please let me know. Thanks!

    I've been trying to install either Arch Linux or Fedora 17 on VMWare Workstation (7.1.3). After I point to the right ISO image, I get the following error: Booting the kernel PANIC: early exception 0d rip:ffffffff81042dc4 error 0 cr2 0 I am trying to install it on a machine which has a 3rd generation i5 processor. After checking A VMWare panic early exception fix for ivy bridge i3, i5, i7, I tried to turn off the nosmep acpi. This is around, I get the same error but at a different address. Apparently, others have faced this issue before. Thanks in advance.

    I having trouble with installation of Fedora and/or Centos. On first steps of installation, on step What type of devices will your installation involve, whatever I choose, same thing happen: I get window with message An unhandled exception has occurred. This is most likely a bug. Please save a copy of the detailed exception and file a bug report. In Details window there are lots of messages. At the end there are: ERR kernel:[ 81.854179] device-mapper: table: 253:1: raid45: unknown target type WARNING kernel:[ 81.854183] device-mapper: ioctl: error adding target to table Same thing occur with several versions of Fedora (17 and 16, x64, live, etc) and with Centos distribution also.   • BIND DNS Master with Zerigo Slaves - BIND won't update the slave servers

    I've tried to resolve this myself and have looked through Google and Stack but haven't found the answer I'm looking for. Currently on a VPS server I have BIND DNS installed as a MASTER DNS Server. I use Zerigo's DNS service as SLAVE servers for public use: The Master doesn't receive queries - It's job is to simply create and modify DNS entries locally of which the SLAVE use to serve. You will notice that 'allow-transfer' is set explicitly on each DNS zone.     Hi, I'm setting up a SQL Replication strategy, using MSSQL2008 with peer-to-peer publications (2 servers, each one subscribes to the other). I followed this HOWTO from MSDN, and the setup seems to be working fine: add a record to one table on server A, query on server B shows the new record. So far, so good. So far I only have one table 'Templates': Id PK (calculated field) NodeId int default 1/2 (Server A = 1, Server B = 2) LocalId int autoid Name nvarchar(100) Now, I would like to enable 'Conflict detection', which should be enabled by default. Having this setup without conflict detection feels pretty useless... EDIT OK, so after some more research and setting up with different databases etc, I found out that the calculated 'Id' column of the Templates table is the culprit. I don't know why, but the replication doesn't seem to allow calculated columns (which are also primary key). It works now too, without the 'Id' column, and using the NodeId and LocalId as a combined PK. So now the question is, why isn't it allowed to have a calculated column as PK for replication with conflict detection?

  • sharepoint 2007 access denied when accessing user profiles via ssp

    Guys I have a really strange problem in regards to sharepoint mysites today I go into user profiles and properties in order to setup a property all of a sudden I get access denied. First off I know that I'm logged in with the correct account after the access denied I decided to click on personalization services and permissions I than get An unhandled exception occurred in the user interface.Exception Information: Cannot complete this action. I'm not seeing anything in the server application logs either. So have any of you guys seen this before is there some kind of way to grant a user account the manage profiles right permission using stsadm. BTW all other fucntions of the ssp are working fine so my question is if the user profiles and my sites of a ssp tanks how do you repair that portion of the ssp? BTW the user accounts that I'm using are site collection owners and also they have full control at the web application level.   • Windows Vista SP2 and DEP Woes for Older Program

    I have a database client (4D 2004 Client... which, for the record, I vehemently hate but am forced to use because our company is still running this) that I'm trying to run in Windows Vista SP2. I've added the program to the DEP Exceptions list (per a 4D tech article detailing this problem... sorry, can't find the link now) and restarted the computer, but every time I try to log-in to our remote database, the program is shut down by Vista, citing a DEP event. And yes, I have restarted the computer several times, so the new DEP settings should be in effect. I'm a bit confused at this since I specifically added the 4DClient.exe to the DEP Exception list! I realize that very few (if any) of you might have this exact problem with this exact program, but can anyone shed light on the fact that DEP still seems to be enabled for a program that I've specifically added to the DEP exception list?!?

The usual load: CPU: an average of 20% Each week about 50GB of additional space is occupied. About 47GB of uploaded files and 3GB of MySQL data. I'm afraid that the hard drive may be about to fail. Maybe I will go with 2x2TB Caviar Black in RAID4?

  • SSH-forwarded X11 display from Linux to Mac lost after some time

    I have a new and vexing problem with ssh forwarding my X11 connection when logging in from a Mac (10.7.2) to Linux (Ubuntu 8.04). I have no trouble using ssh -X to log in to the remote machine and starting an X11-based application from that shell. What has recently started happening is that additional invocations of X11 applications from that same shell, after a while (on the order of hours), are unable to start because the forwarded display is being blocked (I presume). When attempting to start xterm, for example, I get the usual message about a bad DISPLAY setting, such as: xterm Xt error: Can't open display: localhost:10.0 But the X11 application I started right when I logged in is still running along just fine, using that exact same display (localhost:10.0), just that it was started earlier. I turned on verbose logging in sshd_config and I see this in the /var/log/auth.log file in response to the failed xterm startup attempt: sshd[22104]: channel 8: open failed: administratively prohibited: open failed If I ssh -X to the server again, starting a new shell and getting assigned a new display (localhost:11.0), the same process repeats: the X11 applications started early on run just fine for as long as I keep them open (days), but after a few hours I cannot start any new ones from that shell. Particulars: OpenSSH sshd server running on Ubuntu 8.04, display forwarded to a Mac running Lion (10.7.2) with the default Apple X server. The systems are connected on an Ethernet LAN with a single switch between them. Neither machine is running a firewall. Until recently (a few days ago) this setup worked perfectly so I am mystified as to where to look next. I am by no means an X11 or SSH expert but have good UNIX/Linux experience. Nothing obvious has changed in either client or server configuration although I have tried changing a few options to try to debug this, like setting sshd_config's TCPKeepAlive to no, and setting "host +localhost" (you can tell I've been Googling). When logging in from a Linux 11.10 laptop to the same remote host over the same network and switch, this problem does not occur -- an xterm can be invoked successfully hours later from the same ssh login shell while the same experiment from the Mac fails (tested this morning to be sure), so it would appear to be a Mac-specific issue.     I been running smartctl -t long on a drive for about 2 days now and it seems to be stalled at 10%. short and conveyance both passed. I have to send 1 of 2 drives purchased back I found badblocks with badblocks (none on this drive and I'ts made over a pass already).   • ubuntu 8.04lts + rdiff-backup: Should I install from source instead of using apt repositories?

    I'm trying to use rdiff-backup in order to make backup copies of some folders inside an Ubuntu 8.04LTS server. I'm attempting to do the backup on another server with a more modern Ubuntu distro (9.10). I'll call this one the "client". rdiff-backup needs to be installed on both the client and the server. It is available on the apt repositories on both machines, so I installed it using sudo apt-get install rdiff-backup. The problem is that the version installed on the server is older than the one on the client (1.1.15 vs 1.2.8). Thus I get errors when I try do make them work together. So I need both versions to be the same. What is the standard procedure in these cases? Should I attempt to upgrade the version on the server, or downgrade the version on the client? And how whould I do that?
