• Web Fonts in Firefox behind Squid

  It appears as though Firefox requests web fonts (specifically Google's) in a different manner than other browsers. They fail to load when behind Squid as a result, and I'm trying to isolate why. Using this page as a reference in various browsers, Firefox noticeably displays it differently. In the Squid logs, you see hits like this: TCP_DENIED/407 3292 GET http://themes.googleusercontent.com/font? - NONE/- text/html If you load the same page with IE, you see hits like this: TCP_DENIED/407 4389 GET http://themes.googleusercontent.com/static/fonts/federant/v1/C109bUmZeyhh-vIXq9lNfvesZW2xOQ-xsNqO47m55DA.woff - NONE/- text/html So why the difference and how can we make it play nice with Firefox? This is running Squid 3.1.15, but also tested with a few other 3.1.x versions.

• Logging Apparently Not Working - Can't Set Configure Replication

  I'm using a tutorial to set up a master (single) slave setup. When I run the command show master status; I get Empty set (0.00 sec). I have done a lot of research and believe that the log file I have set up isn't being used properly. The master is a Windows server, and I am administering it through workbench. The log file (log-bin.log) I have configured in the options exists, and is accessible by 'System'. But when I open it as a text file it doesn't have any data. So I'm assuming it's not getting used properly. How can I get the logging happening so I can finish setting up this replication? Edit: Purely for reference here is the tutorial. I followed all the steps and double checked everything up until show master status.

• Using themes in visio

  I'm looking for a good reference on how to properly use themes in Visio. Here's been my experience so far: Create a flowchart diagram - nothing fancy, just all black & white. No formatting applied to any object. Select & apply a theme to the diagram. Despite the theme showing a set of matching colors, the diagram now has a single color applied to all objects. Right-click the object, format, fill, and pick a color from the set of matching theme colors. End up with an amalgamation of the original theme color I picked (blue) and the new color (green). With enough 'playing' with the object, I can get it to look OK, but it feels like I'm missing something, that it shouldn't be this hard to get a matching color. Any advice would be appreciated. :)

• Is there any way to do 'software raid' without losing data?I

  I say software raid because that is a pretty tentative guess at what I actually want. I have two drives, both with stuff already on them which I want to combine. If they weren't full of stuff (data, not windows installation) I would use software raid to combine them into one big drive or make them into one partition. I could probably do this with some complicated reference system but really I just want to be able to keep saving things to X: without running out of space until both drives are full. • Best way to find the computer a user last logged on from?

  I am hoping that somewhere in Active Directory the "last logged on from [computer]" is written/stored, or there is a log I can parse out? The purpose of wanting to know the last PC logged on from is for offering remote support over the network - our users move around pretty infrequently, but I'd like to know that whatever I'm consulting was updating that morning (when they logged in, presumably) at minimum. I'm also considering login scripts that write the user and computer names to a known location I can reference, but some of our users don't like to logout for 15 days at a time. If there is an elegant solution that uses login scripts, definitely mention it - but if it happens to work for merely unlocking the station, that would be even better!

• Automatically insert cell references from one sheet into other in Calc

  I have spreadsheets in OpenOffice.org Calc that consist of the first sheet and an arbitrary number of additional sheets, each collecting data for a specific month. The Month sheets have an identical structure. The first sheet is supposed to provide an overview to the most important numbers in the month sheets. Whenever I add a Month sheet, I want it to appear automatically in the Overview sheet with the structure given below. So, for each Month sheet, copy or reference some of the cells into the Overview sheet: {Referenced Sheet Name} | Fixed Header1 | Fixed Header2 | Fixed Header3 Fixed Label 1 | {CellRef 1} | {CellRef 2} | {CellRef 3} Fixed Label 2 | {CellRef 4} | {CellRef 5} | {CellRef 6} I know how do to this for just one sheet by hand, but I have no clue how to make Calc do this automatically for me. Is it possible at all? Any help appreciated.

If admin is installing that desktop app, then shortcut of app is getting pinned only for admin not for other users which we never faced with previous version of windows. • Launchd execute command when folder contents modified or changed.

  For the past two days i've been trying to get a launchd plist to execute a script "program" when the contents of a folder on my desktop contents have modified or changed. I've gone through tons of configuration settings and have tried the Users/me/Desktop/folderinquestion and Users/me/Desktop/folderinquestion (with and without trailing slash). The script executes only when something is added or removed but it doesn't recognize when files are updated and subdirectories. launchd is really my last hope to getting this to working i've already exausted folder actions, and bash scripts, uninstallable linux methods etc. I have used Lingon to create my plists and have followed this youtube tutorial. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is what I have right now, and like I said does not work when folder is modified or changed IDEA: Thinking about creating two separate plists that reference each other one plist can watch a folder for additions and subtractions and when one occurs it can create another plist that watches every file in the folder, this could also be recursive and count in for subdirectories.

• How to retrieve all occurences of a particular value within a string?

  I'm looking at an excel work-book with potential definitions for a column(upto 135) referenced from an adjacent sheet. E.g. Sheet 1: Col C (values 0-134 defined in Sheet 2 ) Each row in Col C Sheet 1 may have any combination of the values separated by commas. E.g. 0,1,8 Sheet 2 must maintain statistics of the occurence of each value. This is done using COUNTIF. The issue here is that COUNTIF doesn't handle an embedded value too well. When so done, the reference to '1' in the above example won't appear. How can this be done without resorting to a sub-routine?

• WOL not working

  I have a Marvell Yukon integrated NIC and i have installed the WOL package on my freeBSD-based NAS. I'm trying to wake my PC using the command "wol M:A:C:A:D:D:R". Command line spits back that it is "waking" however nothing happens. I found no reference to WOL whatsoever in BIOS and i enabled Magic Packet WOL in windows on that interface. Also double-checked MAC addr and that i entered it in the correct format in "wol". I'm on Windows 7. What next? =/

• Login without running bash_profile or bashrc

  So let's say one typoed something in their .bashrc that prevents him (or her) from logging in via ssh (i.e. the ssh login exits because of the error in the file). Is there any way that person could login without executing it (or .bashrc since the one runs the other), or otherwise delete/rename/invalidate the file? Suppose you don't have physical access to the machine, and this is the only user account with the ability to ssh in. • Eclipse Pydev Ctrl-Click (Go to Definition) Doesn't Work OSX

  My Pydev set up in OS X is kind of busted. I'm working on a Django project and I find that Ctrl-Click never actually goes to the definitions of any of my objects or functions. I actually have a symlink to Django/django in my workspace so that it's easier to cross reference Django code. My guess is that something is wrong with the builder, but it doesn't throw up any errors. Does anyone have advice here? Different topic: does anyone know of a good way to use Ctrl-Shift-R (Open resource) and filter files by folder? It's not that useful in python projects where you have 20 urls.py showing up.

• haproxy not passing X_FORWARD_FOR on HTTP POST

  Hello, I've setup HAProxy with the option forwardfor option so it'll pass on the user's IP to PHP via $_SERVER[ "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR" ]. If the page request isn't a POST it's populated fine but if it is then it won't be populated. Any ideas where I've gone wrong? Thanks everyone! • Re-using port 443 for another service - is it possible?

  The ultimate goal is to allow a remote data connection service to operate on port 443 on a the SQL server. The application accessing the connection is behind a firewall and it is because of the client's reluctance to open another port that I have been asked to try and get this working. The current environment is Windows 2003 R2 (SP2) and SQL Server 2005. IIS is not installed, but when I try and install the third party connection software (SequeLink) it won't as it reports something is still configured on/using port 443. Netstat does not show anything listening on the port and I've tried editing the system32\drivers\etc\services file removing any reference to port 443 and also using sc delete to delete the HTTP and HTTPFilter (HTTP SSL in services console) services to see if this would help. Rebooting after each change. What could still be using the port? Is what I'm trying even possible (I have my doubts but have to investigate every avenue)? Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm getting the above mentioned error when backing up with ZRM, which is using mysqldump for backup. mysqldump --opt --extended-insert --single-transaction --create-options --default-character-set=utf8 --user=" " -p --all-databases "/nfs/backup/mysql01/dailyrun/20091216043001/backup.sql" mysqldump: Error 2020: Got packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes when dumping table TICKET_ATTACHMENT at row: 2286 I have increased the size for 'max_allowed_packet' to be 1G in /etc/my.cnf which is the server setting and for the client side setting I've set it by running this command: mysql -u -p --max_allowed_packet=1G And I have verified that on the client and server side they are of the same value. This is to check the client side value according to this forum posting http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?35,75794,261640 mysql SELECT @@MAX_ALLOWED_PACKET - ; +----------------------+ | @@MAX_ALLOWED_PACKET | +----------------------+ | 1073741824 | +----------------------+ 1 row in set (0.00 sec) And this is the check the server value setting. mysql SHOW VARIABLES | max_allowed_packet | 1073741824 | I have ran out of ideas, and tried searching within expert exchange and googling for solutions but so far none has worked. • Tortoise SVN Error Validating Server Certificate

  I just updated the certificate on one of my sites due to the old one expiring. The new certificate verifies fine in Internet Explorer 9, Chrome, and Firefox 4 - but when trying to browse/check out the repository with TortoiseSVN, I get the following error: Error validating server certificate for https://xxx.xxx.com:443: Unknown certificate issuer. Fingerprint: 96:b3:fa:19:bd:4a:ec:c2:bc:19:33:b8:25:2a:0a:47:28:41:07:d0 Distinguished name: (c) 2009 Entrust, Inc., www.entrust.net/rpa is incorporated by reference, Entrust, Inc., US Do you want to proceed? Accept permanently | Accept once | Reject Clicking Accept permanently will work, but this is less than ideal. This problem seems to be related to TortoiseSVN and not the certificate, which checks out fine at http://sslinstallcheck.entrust.net/SIC/jsp/MainWebAddress.jsp and http://www.digicert.com/help/. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

• Docking Station Disabling/Enabling Network Connection

  Whenever I dock my laptop onto my docking station, Windows disables my Wireless Network Connection and enables my Wired Network Connection. Whenever I undock my laptop, Windows disables my Wired Network Connection and enables my Wireless Network Connection. Is there a way to disable this feature? After Windows performs the automatic disabling/enabling, I run into errors when I try to disable the now-enabled connection, specifically "It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection may be using one or more protocols that do not support Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account." I'm assuming the latter portion of the error is true ... my network connections are being enabled/disabled under a system account. Regardless, I'd just like to disable the feature altogether. For reference, I'm working with Windows XP Professional on a Dell Latitude D630. Thanks in advance!

• Triple ghost animated cursor

  Since installing the driver for Intuos 4 Graphics tablet, animated cursors display as a triple ghost cursor. I cannot find any reference to this problem elsewhere. System specifications: new Dell XPS, Windows 7, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670. Graphics tablet and graphics software are virtually useless since the cursor hotspot is nearly impossible to identify. All drivers and software are current. Any thoughts? Vendors deny any knowledge or responsibility. Removing the Intuos driver does not fix this.

  I'm looking for a nice short easy way to create a series of thumbnails for any given video file. I'm almost there using ffmpeg, here's what I have: ffmpeg -i /tmp/video.avi -r 1 -ss 60 -r 1 foo-%03d.jpeg` The only problem is that this takes a shot every second and I'd like to make it every minute or so. I tried setting the -r value to 1/60 or .02 to no avail. • How to use auto-discovery with iDRAC Enterprise?

  All I want to do is: have "auto discovery" enabled on my iDRAC enterprise at the factory rack the server, cable iDRAC to dhcp-enabled management network have the iDRAC DHCP, find the "Provisioning Server", and get updated with login credentials (for us to use with racadm, idrac webui, etc.) I don't need to do any configuring of the system, install OS, or anything else. I just want idrac to dhcp out of the box, and end up with an account that can be used to login. All the docs I can find on Dell's site refer to a "Provisioning Server", but I honestly can't tell if they have some reference product, or if they only have software that "integrates" with other vendor's existing management systems. I'd be happy to set up whatever is needed, I just can't find something that explicitly describes the process (only references to the fact that it is supported).

• Advise about performance for local or remote SQL Server?

  I currently have my web server and SQL Express / MySQL server on the same server. It is on a VPS. I have been having problems with my hosting so I am thinking of separating the web and db server into 2 VPS servers. Does anyone recommend this? I am worried that changing my setup from a local DB server to a remote one will degrade performance heavily. They will not be on the same network, but will reference each other via an IP address. Anything I should be aware of?

• Finding X on Excel scatter plot/trend line

  If I have some data in an scatter plot in Excel, e.g. X Y 1 10 2 20 3 30 4 40 5 50 and I want to find the Y value for X = 10, or X=3.5, or whatever (obviously this is a simplified example) I've been doing the following: Add a trend-line to the scatter plot data Format the trend-line to one that fits the data (linear in this case) Display the equation for the trend-line on the chart Type the equation into an empty cell, replacing x with a cell reference. E.g. "=10*A1" then put my X value into the cell A1 Is there a better way of doing this with Excel? It's quite a few steps, and fairly repetitive. Or maybe Excel is just a poor choice of application for doing this? (I'm using Excel 2007)
