• ASP.NET - remote screenshot

  Hi All, I made a very very simple small app to take screenshot of the desktop and send to network share. About 10 PC's would have this app installed. My idea is, that there will be one dashboard in ASP.NET, which simply shows those screenshots on the webpage. So far, easy stuff. But, because I don't want to clog the network and send the screenshot every 1 minute, I would like to launch the .exe on the remote PC's by demand of ASP.NET user. Unfortunately I haven't found any information (and I'm a complete ASP.NET n00b), how to launch remote executable IN the context of the remote PC (so I won't see screenshots of ASP server :) ) If there is no such possibility, please advise about other way to solve this.

  Hi, I have a game I am making, it is giving me this message... "An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in game.exe" To explain...I have a 2D array with 9 different opening moves and I am getting a random number to use as the array reference to retrieve the details needed for a move... you may get the same move again - but that's illegal. the move may be illegal for other reasons too So to try and fix this, I am calling the function again from within the function. The error occurs very randomly Is this bad practise to call a function from within itself? What would be a better way to randomly row from a 2D array, AND if it isn't accept to get another one.... Or better still, how can I retrieve a random LEGAL move?

  For example, if I write: cout << "??????!" << endl; //it's hello in Russian in console it would be something like "-?????!" ok, I know that we can use: setlocale(LC_ALL, "Russian"); but after that not working command line arguments in russian (if I start my program through BAT file): StartProgram.bat chcp 1251 MyProgram.exe -user=???? -password=?????? so, after setlocale program can't read russian arguments properly. This happens because BAT file in CP1251, but console is in CP866 So, there is a question: How to write in C++ console russian text and same time russian command line arguments have to be read properly thanks

• Python .app doesn't read .txt file like it should

  This question relates to this one: Python app which reads and writes into its current working directory as a .app/exe i got the path to the .txt file fine however now when i try to open it and read the contents it seems that it doesn't extract the data properly. • Trouble Getting a Locally Hosted Copy of the English Language Wiktionary to include the Translations Sections

  I used MWDumper - http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Mwdumper - to import the xml dump of the English Language Wiktionary (specifically the file named enwiktionary-20120930-pages-meta-current.xml,) to my local server. I have found that under the Translations section (on each page for each English word,) next to the name of each language where I should be able to see the definition in a foreign language, I instead see Template:Tø, Template:T+, or Template:T- and I am not sure why this is. As an experiment, I also used WikiTaxi - http://www.yunqa.de/delphi/doku.php/products/wikitaxi/index - with the exact same XML dump and did not have this problem when viewing under WikiTaxi.exe. I have been searching through mediawiki.org looking for the answer, but have so far not been successful. I appreciate your help

• How to Get SharePoint PowerShell to use .NET 2

  I'm having a couple of problems with PowerShell. First, the PS configuration installed by SharePoint 2010 keeps popping this message: The local farm is not accessible. Cmdlets with FeatureDependencyId are not registered. I've googled that, and given everybody and their second cousin Sharepoint_Shell_Access to the config DB, with no luck. So, I wanted to try some of the PS commands. In this case, however, I'm getting a different error: Microsoft SharePoint is not supported with version 4.0.30319.17929 of the Microsoft .Net Runtime. I get that SP can't use .NET 4.0 or 4.5, but I can't find any suggestions on how to get PS to use the "right" version of .NET. I've found some references for something called PowerGUI, and changing the psgui.exe.config, but I don't have that. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to solve the .NET version problem?   Hello, is there a way (on Windows XP+) to redirect the output of a window created by a process created with e.g. CreateProcess to a window of your own program? I'd like to make a nicer GUI for ffplay.exe which is an open source video player. It is a command line tool, which opens a simple window in which it plays back the video. Can I "capture" this window and display the output in my own program somehow? Thanks for any hints you can provide.

• PHP: Mapped Network Drives

  Hello all, I have mapped a network drive to a computer in my home network. Now I am trying to access it via PHP - I did this quick test: echo opendir('Z:\\'); This gives me: Warning: opendir(Z:\) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No error in C:\wamp\www\webs\tester-function.php on line 3 What have I done wrong here? I don't want my users typing in the UNC path so is there a way to get the UNC path for them and maybe that will work when I try to access it? This is possible in Microsoft languages but I am not sure how to get PHP to do this - maybe using a cmd.exe command? Please note, the mapped drive does exist as I can see it and I can access it. It also does not appear to be a permissions problem as I am assuming it would of complained about this IF it could access that drive...right? Thanks all for any help

• Visaul Studio 2010, TlbImp generates .net 4.0 interops in 2.0 projects

  In a C# project we add a reference to a COM object via the Add References setup pointing to a COM object which results in the IDE auto-generating the interop assembly. So this is fine and good, but we are building based on .net 3.5 SP1 aka CLR 2.0, and the generated interops are using the 4.0 CLR making them incompatiable. Is there a way to prevent this? I assume the other option is in our build script to try using tlbimp.exe with the /references parameter? to point to mscorlib v2.0? Anyhow, I'm hoping there's a flag somewhere to allow this.

I then need to check if such a file is in the /libs folder (located at the same place as my executeable!) and if it doesn't exist I have to check in the directory of the current script. How can I get the exact path to the directory where the executeable is located from argv? What is the best way to remove the file from the end of a path, e.g: C:/a/b/c/file.exe should become C:/a/b/c/

  I am writing a batch file which is supposed to update the source files from tortoise and - if anything new was gotten - build the solution. Should be a very simple task. My batchfile looks like this (I've removed the non-essentials) set updatepath=%1 set solution=%2 set output=%3.txt call TortoiseProc.exe /command:update /path:%updatepath% /closeonend:2 call %devenv% %solution% /Build Debug /Out %output% Now, I'd like to know if tortoise actually got new code for me and the not build if it didn't.   Hello stackoverflow members, How can I use gtkmm with MinGW (g++) without MSYS? Here is the story of my problem: I installed MinGW offline with all required packages (full install). I installed Apache Server and I copied all .tar.gz files and I created a website called sourceforge.org [localhost] and I installed automatically MinGW on Windows XP. After, I set the PATH variables. After, I installed gtkmm for MinGW (g++). I tried to compile a simple window with gtkmm + MinGW, but it does not work. I use this command line: g++ simple.cc -o simple pkg-config gtkmm-2.4 --cflags --libs After, I installed MSYS and I can compile simple.cc with MSYS, using this command line: g++ simple.cc -o simple pkg-config gtkmm-2.4 --cflags --libs My problem: I want to compile simple.cc without MSYS. I want compile my simple.cc with cmd.exe - It's possbile? If, yes. How? Thank you for reading my message. Any help is appreciated.

  I'm writing an NSIS installer and the setup program elevates "as administrator" as needed on Windows 7 / vista. I need to run the installed program at the end of the install and don't want to launch it with the same privileges as the installer. The regular NSIS exec commands run the child process with the same permissions as the installer. There is a UAC plugin for NSIS, but the documentation on it isn't great and it seems v. new; I'd prefer not to use that plugin. Ideally, I'm looking for a small .exe I can include that'll launch the target program without UAC elevation. Does this exist? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

This script also adds the current date once it makes a copy and moves it this file into a backup folder, i am planning to have this bat file run by a windows scheduler task every day.   Okay, so what I'm trying to do is print out a percentage complete to my command line, now, I would like this to simply 'update' the number shown on the screen. So somehow go back to the beginning of the line and change it. For example the windows relog.exe command-line utility (which can convert a .blg file to a .csv file) does this. If you run it, it will display a percentage complete. Now this is probably written in C++. I don't know if this is possible in perl as well ?

  I am trying to create an MSI package that uses the AppCmd application to configure IIS7. It only has to execute some commands that call AppCmd. Some commands need to be called when installing, other commands need to be called when uninstalling.   I am using Poco library and when running my program on other machines which don't have VS2005 installed, I have to install "Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update", otherwise the the program will give error when launching. What is this redistributable package for? Is there any way to avoid installing this but still let my program running well? Also, there're so many vcredist_x86.exe out there. • Problem running VBScript from my UIAccess VB app using MSScriptControl

  I'm trying to run some VBSCRIPT from within my application. This works fine when I run my program from within VB. But once I add "UIAccess=true" to my manifest and digitally sign my exe with my certificate, I am unable to run the code any more. It gives errors when I try to interface with any program saying "429: ActiveX component can't create object: 'myApp.Application'". Anyone have any idea why it would run fine in the IDE but not with an application with uses UIAccess? • Debug.Assert seems not to work in Mono

  Consider the following C# program: using System; using System.Diagnostics; namespace Test { class MainClass { public static void Main (string[] args) { Debug.Assert(false); Debug.Fail("fail!"); Console.WriteLine ("Hello World!"); } } } When compiling this using: dmcs -debug -d:DEBUG Main.cs and then running it with: mono --debug Main.exe the assertion and fail seem to be ignored. The output is just: Hello World! I checked other related questions on StackOverflow, but I could not find a solution. In particular the solution give in Mono - Debug.Assert does not work does not work. (UPDATE: the update solution does work, see below comments.) I use Mono 2.1.5-1 on Ubuntu 11.10.
