  In 9.10, any external usb devices such as an iPod or an external USB hard drive are automatically detected when plugged in while the OS is running. This doesn't seem to be happening anymore with Ubuntu 10.04. What should I change to restore that previous auto mounting behaviour?

• Redmine installation on Ubuntu ... now what?

  I've been tinkering/testing with Ubuntu Server 10.04 Beta LAMP stack in a VM and now I've come to the Redmine install. I found a package for it, and issued: sudo tasksel install lamp-server sudo apt-get install redmine Which (I think almost) worked, but I've no idea how to test it, or even know if it's configured. How do I test it? I'm using 10.04 server so I don't have a local GUI.

  Hello, I'm running Apache on Ubuntu 9.10. I want Apache to ignore certain domains on my server, and let other HTTP servers make full use of them. I've used mod_proxy and other Apache modules to configure the proxy/redirect to certain ports but sometimes that's too much work or doesn't work properly. Example: Server 00.00.000.000 domain1.com:80 - Apache domain2.com:80 - Apache domain3.com:80 - Webrick domain4.com:80 - Jetty Is this possible?

  I have a Cannon Pixma ip4300 printer connected to a Mac OS X system and shared using CUPS. I can print to this printer from my Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid workstation just fine, however when printing (specifically from Thunderbird) I don't have the option to print in grayscale or in "low quality"/draft" mode. How can I enable these options to help save on printing costs?

  I am trying to run an application that uses framebuffer on 2.6.31-14-generic #48-Ubuntu. All need to do is to install a framebuffer device to get rid of the following error. /dev/fb/0: No such file or directory framebuffer not available. FATAL: no framebuffer available I googled through and found some resources indicating to do that on Grub2 I got nothing though I followed them seamlessly. Any ideas? Thanks

  Hi, I am working with Ubuntu latest version. While installing via apt-get install i tried to abort that by pressing Ctrl+Z. It terminate successfully ;). But next time when i tried to use apt-get, i got some error "lock" and "temporally unavailable" something like that and **I unfortunately i delete the /var/lib/dkpg folder.** after that i cant install anything from apt-get, getting an error. The result is that I am now out of the admin group, and lost my sudo rights. I can sort that out, but I want to know what other groups I may been removed from? My user was the first one so what I'm looking for is a list of groups that the first user gets added to at installation time.

I've installed Xen on a fresh/clean ubuntu 10.10 server (x64) using : hg clone xen-4.0-testing.hg make world make install-kernels Trying to launch qemu; first "not found" Then I installed from source (from tarballs at qemu.org) But then qemu complains about not finding /dev/kvm Am I missing something here ? I thought that qemu was part of xen install (at least it was from 3.x series). All i have is qemu-img-xen and qemu-nbd-xen.

  I am trying to change this xorg.conf file that I used to modify under Ubuntu 9.04, so it can have the higher resolutions of my monitor. Under 9.04, the monitor was unknown, and I had to key in all resolutions in the file, and although it is found under 9.10, 9.10 does not have the highest resolution that My monitor can sustain.
