  • How to use jquery code in Internet Explorer?

    - by ilariah
    I put some jquery in my website that makes the text move to the right when the page changes. It works in Firefox and Safari but it doesn't work in Internet Explorer. My url to my website: http://katieduck.com/Courses/Improvisation%20Winter%20Course%20Dartington.html Here is the code that is not working: $(document).ready(function() { $('#tabvanilla > ul').tabs({ fx: { height: 'toggle', opacity: 'toggle' } }); $('#featuredvid > ul').tabs(); }); Maybe you can find out what is wrong.

  • EF4 (CPT5) ForeignKeyAttribute in base class - Assert Failure entityType != null

    - by Anthony Johnston
    Getting an error when trying to set a ForeignKeyAttribute in a base class class User{} abstract class FruitBase{ [ForeignKey("CreateById")] public User CreateBy{ get; set; } public int CreateById{ get; set; } } class Banana{} class DataContext : DbContext{ DbSet<Banana> Bananas{ get; set; } } If I move the FruitBase code into the banana, all is well, but I don't want to, as there will be many many fruit and I want to remain relatively DRY if I can Is this a know issue that will be fixed by March? Does anyone know a work around?

  • refactor this javascript code

    - by nathanvda
    I have two click-events, that are nearly similar, but not quite. I am wondering how to refactor them best: $('.remove_fields.dynamic').live('click', function(e) { var $this = $(this); var after_removal_trigger_node = $this.closest(".nested-fields").parent(); trigger_removal_callback($this); e.preventDefault(); $this.closest(".nested-fields").remove(); trigger_after_removal_callback(after_removal_trigger_node); }); $('.remove_fields.existing').live('click', function(e) { var $this = $(this); var after_removal_trigger_node = $this.closest(".nested-fields").parent(); trigger_removal_callback($this); e.preventDefault(); $this.prev("input[type=hidden]").val("1"); $this.closest(".nested-fields").hide(); trigger_after_removal_callback(after_removal_trigger_node); }); As you can tell there is a fair bit of overlap. I am wondering what the best/nicest way would be to refactor this code.

  • Similar code detector

    - by Let_Me_Be
    I'm search for a tool that could compare source codes for similarity. We have a very trivial system right now that has huge amount of false positives and the real positives can easily get buried in them. My requirements are: reasonably small amount of false positives good detection rate (yeah these are going against each other) ideally with a more complex output than just a single value usable for C (C99) and C++ (C++03 and optimally C++11) still maintained usable for comparing two source files against each other usable in non-interactive mode EDIT: To avoid confusion, the following two code snippets are identical and should be detected as such: for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { bla; } int i; while (i < 10) { bla; i++; } The same here: int x = 10; y = x + 5; int a = 10; y = a + 5;

  • Calling R Script from within C-Code

    - by tiny81
    Hi, Is there a way to call an R-Script within C-Code? I did find the R Api for C (chaper 6. of the 'Writing R Extensions' manual), but as far as I understood this does "only" allow to call the C-Implementation of R. Of cause I could call the R-Script via shell, but that's no solution for me, since this does not allow proper passing of data (at least no if I don't what to write the data into a Csv-File or something like this). Is there a easy way of using the R to C parser beforehand? Any hints you can give me? regards, Tiny

  • CodeContracts: Possibly calling a method on a null reference

    - by dtb
    I'm having an argument with the CodeContracts static analysis tool. My code: class Foo { private static Foo instance = new Foo(); private string bar; public Foo() { bar = "Hello World"; } public static int BarLength() { return instance.bar.Length; // <<-- } } The tool tells me that instance.bar may be a null reference. I believe the opposite. Who is right? How can I prove it wrong?

  • When to give in and start The Big Rewrite?

    - by John Cromartie
    I've had my share of projects where the first thing I think is "let's just rewrite it in ." Everybody feels the urge at some point. In fact, I think I've had the urge to rewrite pretty much every project I've ever been on. However, it is accepted wisdom that a total rewrite is generally a bad idea. The question is: when do you look at a project and say: "OK, it's time to start over." What sort of metrics or examples can you cite of where a rewrite was truly necessary? How bad does the code have to be? How old can a project get before there too much invested?

  • XCode Project Code Changes Not Updating 100% After Save-Build-Run

    - by Greg
    When I make code changes to my iPhone game project in XCode, and then do CMD-B + Enter, I expect the project to be saved, build and run on the simulator with the latest. What is happening though, sometimes, is that it doesn't pick up a small change I make unless I clean the project and then build. I'm a long time Java person and newish to C-based languages and it's compiler. Can someone explain to me what is cached after each build that does this and how to change my project settings to avoid having to clean everytime? Or tell me the bad news that this is part of C development? Not trying to bash it - I get compiled JSPs stuck in the working cache often in Java, too. :P

  • Facebook access_token: how do I get it once the user accepted my app?

    - by hoktar
    When a user visits my site which contains a facebook app the first time, it requires him to allow it and he gets promted to do that, then I get the code which I can convert to an access_token. So far so good. But how do I get the token once the user has already visited the site? As long as this token form the first time is active everything is fine. But how do I get another token when the user had already allowed the app a week ago and is only visiting my page again?

  • Javascript is freezing the browser when running this code

    - by user1420493
    I am trying to get the value of a text input and check if there is any links in it and then take those links and make them into tags. But when I run this code, something is going wrong and it completely freezes the page. Basically, I want it to check for "http://" and if that exists, to keep on adding to the substr length until the end of the string/link. Is there a better way to do this? // the id "post" could possibly say: "Hey, check this out! http://facebook.com" // I'd like it to just get that link and that's all I need help with, just to get the // value of that entire string/link. var x = document.getElementById("post"); var m = x.value.indexOf("http://"); var a = 0; var q = m; if (m != -1) { while (x.value.substr(q, 1) != " ") { var h = x.value.substr(m, a); q++; } }

  • Synchronization between user space process and interupt context code

    - by user1748950
    Recently I attended couple of interviews. Out of all kernel questions which were asked, thr is one specific question which I couldnt find convincing answer of. How will you use different synchronization techniques while sharing data between user space process and interrupt context function? My convincing answer was: In interrupt context code: 1. do *spin_lock_irqsave* 2. access data buffer which is shared between user space app and kernel 3. do *spin_lock_irqrestore* Then this was not convincing answer. Do I have to do irqsave and irqrestore in all the instances of data access? Regards, Yogi

  • More efficient way to write this Jquery code

    - by adamwstl
    Is there a better, more efficient way to write this code? It's a make shift drop down menu that allows user to RSVP for multiple people. Sorry, it's kind of a mess, but I think what I'm doing is clear. If not, I'm at my computer and will respond quickly with more info need be. //There's got to be a better way to do this $('#guest_num_1').click( function() { $('#num_guests a#quant_guests').html("1") $('.guest_name_2, .guest_name_3, .guest_name_4, .guest_name_5, .guest_name_6 ').hide() }); $('#guest_num_2').click( function() { $('#num_guests a#quant_guests').html("2") $('.guest_name_2').fadeIn() $('.guest_name_3, .guest_name_4, .guest_name_5, .guest_name_6').hide() }); $('#guest_num_3').click( function() { $('#num_guests a#quant_guests').html("3") $('.guest_name_2, .guest_name_3').fadeIn() $('.guest_name_4, .guest_name_5, .guest_name_6').hide() }); $('#guest_num_4').click( function() { $('#num_guests a#quant_guests').html("4") $('.guest_name_2, .guest_name_3, .guest_name_4').fadeIn() $('.guest_name_5, .guest_name_6').hide() }); $('#guest_num_5').click( function() { $('#num_guests a#quant_guests').html("5") $('.guest_name_2, .guest_name_3, .guest_name_4, .guest_name_5').fadeIn() $('.guest_name_6').hide() }); $('#guest_num_6').click( function() { $('#num_guests a#quant_guests').html("6") $('.guest_name_2, .guest_name_3, .guest_name_4, .guest_name_5, .guest_name_6').fadeIn() });

  • Python - How can I make this code asynchronous?

    - by dave
    Here's some code that illustrates my problem: def blocking1(): while True: yield 'first blocking function example' def blocking2(): while True: yield 'second blocking function example' for i in blocking1(): print 'this will be shown' for i in blocking2(): print 'this will not be shown' I have two functions which contain while True loops. These will yield data which I will then log somewhere (most likely, to an sqlite database). I've been playing around with threading and have gotten it working. However, I don't really like it... What I would like to do is make my blocking functions asynchronous. Something like: def blocking1(callback): while True: callback('first blocking function example') def blocking2(callback): while True: callback('second blocking function example') def log(data): print data blocking1(log) blocking2(log) How can I achieve this in Python? I've seen the standard library comes with asyncore and the big name in this game is Twisted but both of these seem to be used for socket IO. How can I async my non-socket related, blocking functions?

  • How to fork my android app?

    - by eidylon
    So I've written my first Android app, ... and want to be able to provide both free and paid versions. I wrote and compiled it in Eclipse on Windows. I'm wondering if it is possible, and how I would go about doing so, to have separate compile jobs somehow, so that I can maintain my free and paid versions from one set of source code, and just leave out certain bits for the paid version, but keep the main source the same. What are the recommended ways/best practices for devving a paid and free version of the same app from one set of source? Is it even possible?

  • CSS and JQuery: spaces inside image name break code of url()

    - by Shyam
    Hi, I have a page that is supposed to display a larger version of an image when hovered over a thumbnail. I have a 'div' with an ID and the JQuery code is as following: $(document).ready(function(){ $('img').hover(function() { var src = $("#im" + this.id).attr("src"); $('#viewlarge').css('backgroundImage','url(' + src +')'); return false; }); }); The images I use, are generated by a Ruby script that "generate" an image with a similar, yet different id. However, sometimes, photo's are uploaded that have "spaces" inside. My developer tools tell me that the background-image is not set correctly, yet the image path is correct and the browser don't have problems finding the image. My question is, can I somehow sanitize the url 'src', so spaces won't be a problem? I am aware of doing this server side, yet I would like to know how to do this with JQuery/JS too. Thanks!

  • How does this code block works?

    - by Justin John
    I can't understand how the following code works. $start = 1; while($start<10){ if ($start&1) { echo "ODD ".$start." <br/> "; } else { echo "EVEN ".$start." <br/> "; } $start++; } The $start&1 will return ODD and EVEN seperately. Output ODD 1 EVEN 2 ODD 3 EVEN 4 ODD 5 EVEN 6 ODD 7 EVEN 8 ODD 9 If we give $start&2 instead of $start&1, it returns with another order. How &1 &2 etc... works here?

  • Testing IPhone code on Windows

    - by steve
    I'm picking up a new Dell laptop. My primary machine is a IMac. I will most likely have to write some IPhone projects for someone in the future. While I do most of my work on the IMac there would be maybe 25% of the time where I work from my laptop. Can anyone tell me if I use objective C / IPhone SDK's if there is a generic objective C compiler I can use to see if my code would in theroy work? Not looking to do hackintosh or anything like that. My other option is to just get a discounted mac mini (Think this is most likely) as well as the Dell. Thanks for any advice

  • Python Code Creation

    - by user3677715

This is what I have in python so far: done = False while not done: Letter = input("Letter:") if Letter == "a": print("e") if Letter == "e": print("a") if Letter == "b": print("z") if Letter == "z": print("b") if Letter == "c": print("x") if Letter == "x": print("c") if Letter == "d": print("w") if Letter == "w": print("d") if Letter == "f": print("v") if Letter == "v": print("f") input = input("Start over? Y/N :") if input == "N": done = True With this, I can put in only letters, not words. How can I string together multiple letters to create a word? Thanks

  • Flash Player error logs on Mac OS X

    - by paleozogt
    I'm on Mac OS X 10.5.8 running Flash Player 10,0,32,18. Flash Player is dumping giant amounts of error logging into the system log (stuff like "bit length overflow" and "code 0 bits 6-7"). Here's a tiny sampling: Oct 14 13:09:41 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:09:41 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 6 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:09:41 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:09:41 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 5 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:09:55 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:09:55 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 6 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:09:55 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:09:55 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 5 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:09:55 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:09:55 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 0 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:10:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:10:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 4 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:10:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:10:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 12 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:10:20 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:10:20 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 6 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:10:20 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:10:20 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 5 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:10:21 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:10:21 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 0 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:10:21 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:10:21 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 12 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:10:31 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:10:31 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 7 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:10:31 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:10:31 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 12 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:11:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:11:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 3 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:11:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:11:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 4 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:11:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:11:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 3 bits 7->6 Oct 14 13:11:06 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 4 bits 5->6 Oct 14 13:11:07 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:11:07 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 3 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:11:07 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:11:07 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 3 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:11:15 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:11:15 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 3 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:11:26 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Oct 14 13:11:26 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 7 bits 6->7 Oct 14 13:11:26 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 0 bits 4->5 Oct 14 13:11:26 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 14 bits 4->5 Oct 14 13:11:26 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 10 bits 5->4 Oct 14 13:11:26 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: code 4 bits 5->4 Oct 14 13:11:26 thorst-2 [0x0-0x58058].com.adobe.flash-10.0[2416]: bit length overflow Any ideas on what this may be about?

Thanks! P.S.: I installed wxWidgets through wxPack wich afaik comes with everything precomplied and i also added the wxWidgets directory to Global variables-base in Code::Blocks so everything should be correctly set, right?

  • C# serial port driver wrapper class code and concept quality

    - by Ruben Trancoso
    Hi folks, Would like to know from all you guys what you think about my Serial Wrapper class. Had be a while I've beem working with serial port but never shared the code what somekind make closed to my very own vision. Would like to know if it's a good/bad approach, if the interface is enough and what more you see on it. I know that Stackoverflow is for question but at the same time there's a lot of very good skilled people here and share code and opinion can also bennefit everybody, it's why I decided to post it anyway. thanks! using System.Text; using System.IO; using System.IO.Ports; using System; namespace Driver { class SerialSingleton { // The singleton instance reference private static SerialSingleton instance = null; // System's serial port interface private SerialPort serial; // Current com port identifier private string comPort = null; // Configuration parameters private int confBaudRate; private int confDataBits; private StopBits confStopBits; private Parity confParityControl; ASCIIEncoding encoding = new ASCIIEncoding(); // ================================================================================== // Constructors public static SerialSingleton getInstance() { if (instance == null) { instance = new SerialSingleton(); } return instance; } private SerialSingleton() { serial = new SerialPort(); } // =================================================================================== // Setup Methods public string ComPort { get { return comPort; } set { if (value == null) { throw new SerialException("Serial port name canot be null."); } if (nameIsComm(value)) { close(); comPort = value; } else { throw new SerialException("Serial Port '" + value + "' is not a valid com port."); } } } public void setSerial(string baudRate, int dataBits, StopBits stopBits, Parity parityControl) { if (baudRate == null) { throw new SerialException("Baud rate cannot be null"); } string[] baudRateRef = { "300", "600", "1200", "1800", "2400", "3600", "4800", "7200", "9600", "14400", "19200", "28800", "38400", "57600", "115200" }; int confBaudRate; if (findString(baudRateRef, baudRate) != -1) { confBaudRate = System.Convert.ToInt32(baudRate); } else { throw new SerialException("Baurate parameter invalid."); } int confDataBits; switch (dataBits) { case 5: confDataBits = 5; break; case 6: confDataBits = 6; break; case 7: confDataBits = 7; break; case 8: confDataBits = 8; break; default: throw new SerialException("Databits parameter invalid"); } if (stopBits == StopBits.None) { throw new SerialException("StopBits parameter cannot be NONE"); } this.confBaudRate = confBaudRate; this.confDataBits = confDataBits; this.confStopBits = stopBits; this.confParityControl = parityControl; } // ================================================================================== public string[] PortList { get { return SerialPort.GetPortNames(); } } public int PortCount { get { return SerialPort.GetPortNames().Length; } } // ================================================================================== // Open/Close Methods public void open() { open(comPort); } private void open(string comPort) { if (isOpen()) { throw new SerialException("Serial Port is Already open"); } else { if (comPort == null) { throw new SerialException("Serial Port not defined. • DirectShow: Video-Preview and Image (with working code)

    - by xsl
    Questions / Issues If someone can recommend me a good free hosting site I can provide the whole project file. As mentioned in the text below the TakePicture() method is not working properly on the HTC HD 2 device. It would be nice if someone could look at the code below and tell me if it is right or wrong what I'm doing. Introduction I recently asked a question about displaying a video preview, taking camera image and rotating a video stream with DirectShow. The tricky thing about the topic is, that it's very hard to find good examples and the documentation and the framework itself is very hard to understand for someone who is new to windows programming and C++ in general. Nevertheless I managed to create a class that implements most of this features and probably works with most mobile devices. Probably because the DirectShow implementation depends a lot on the device itself. I could only test it with the HTC HD and HTC HD2, which are known as quite incompatible. HTC HD Working: Video preview, writing photo to file Not working: Set video resolution (CRASH), set photo resolution (LOW quality) HTC HD 2 Working: Set video resolution, set photo resolution Problematic: Video Preview rotated Not working: Writing photo to file To make it easier for others by providing a working example, I decided to share everything I have got so far below. I removed all of the error handling for the sake of simplicity. As far as documentation goes, I can recommend you to read the MSDN documentation, after that the code below is pretty straight forward. void Camera::Init() { CreateComObjects(); _captureGraphBuilder->SetFiltergraph(_filterGraph); InitializeVideoFilter(); InitializeStillImageFilter(); } Dipslay a video preview (working with any tested handheld): void Camera::DisplayVideoPreview(HWND windowHandle) { IVideoWindow *_vidWin; _filterGraph->QueryInterface(IID_IMediaControl,(void **) &_mediaControl); _filterGraph->QueryInterface(IID_IVideoWindow, (void **) &_vidWin); _videoCaptureFilter->QueryInterface(IID_IAMVideoControl, (void**) &_videoControl); _captureGraphBuilder->RenderStream(&PIN_CATEGORY_PREVIEW, &MEDIATYPE_Video, _videoCaptureFilter, NULL, NULL); CRect rect; long width, height; GetClientRect(windowHandle, &rect); _vidWin->put_Owner((OAHWND)windowHandle); _vidWin->put_WindowStyle(WS_CHILD | WS_CLIPSIBLINGS); _vidWin->get_Width(&width); _vidWin->get_Height(&height); height = rect.Height(); _vidWin->put_Height(height); _vidWin->put_Width(rect.Width()); _vidWin->SetWindowPosition(0,0, rect.Width(), height); _mediaControl->Run(); } HTC HD2: If set SetPhotoResolution() is called FindPin will return E_FAIL. If not, it will create a file full of null bytes. HTC HD: Works void Camera::TakePicture(WCHAR *fileName) { CComPtr<IFileSinkFilter> fileSink; CComPtr<IPin> stillPin; CComPtr<IUnknown> unknownCaptureFilter; CComPtr<IAMVideoControl> videoControl; _imageSinkFilter.QueryInterface(&fileSink); fileSink->SetFileName(fileName, NULL); _videoCaptureFilter.QueryInterface(&unknownCaptureFilter); _captureGraphBuilder->FindPin(unknownCaptureFilter, PINDIR_OUTPUT, &PIN_CATEGORY_STILL, &MEDIATYPE_Video, FALSE, 0, &stillPin); _videoCaptureFilter.QueryInterface(&videoControl); videoControl->SetMode(stillPin, VideoControlFlag_Trigger); } Set resolution: Works great on HTC HD2. HTC HD won't allow SetVideoResolution() and only offers one low resolution photo resolution: void Camera::SetVideoResolution(int width, int height) { SetResolution(true, width, height); } void Camera::SetPhotoResolution(int width, int height) { SetResolution(false, width, height); } void Camera::SetResolution(bool video, int width, int height) { IAMStreamConfig *config; config = NULL; if (video) { _captureGraphBuilder->FindInterface(&PIN_CATEGORY_PREVIEW, &MEDIATYPE_Video, _videoCaptureFilter, IID_IAMStreamConfig, (void**) &config); } else { _captureGraphBuilder->FindInterface(&PIN_CATEGORY_STILL, &MEDIATYPE_Video, _videoCaptureFilter, IID_IAMStreamConfig, (void**) &config); } int resolutions, size; VIDEO_STREAM_CONFIG_CAPS caps; config->GetNumberOfCapabilities(&resolutions, &size); for (int i = 0; i < resolutions; i++) { AM_MEDIA_TYPE *mediaType; if (config->GetStreamCaps(i, &mediaType, reinterpret_cast<BYTE*>(&caps)) == S_OK ) { int maxWidth = caps.MaxOutputSize.cx; int maxHeigth = caps.MaxOutputSize.cy; if(maxWidth == width && maxHeigth == height) { VIDEOINFOHEADER *info = reinterpret_cast<VIDEOINFOHEADER*>(mediaType->pbFormat); info->bmiHeader.biWidth = maxWidth; info->bmiHeader.biHeight = maxHeigth; info->bmiHeader.biSizeImage = DIBSIZE(info->bmiHeader); config->SetFormat(mediaType); DeleteMediaType(mediaType); break; } DeleteMediaType(mediaType); } } } Other methods used to build the filter graph and create the COM objects: void Camera::CreateComObjects() { CoInitialize(NULL); CoCreateInstance(CLSID_CaptureGraphBuilder, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER, IID_ICaptureGraphBuilder2, (void **) &_captureGraphBuilder); CoCreateInstance(CLSID_FilterGraph, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC_SERVER, IID_IGraphBuilder, (void **) &_filterGraph); CoCreateInstance(CLSID_VideoCapture, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC, IID_IBaseFilter, (void**) &_videoCaptureFilter); CoCreateInstance(CLSID_IMGSinkFilter, NULL, CLSCTX_INPROC, IID_IBaseFilter, (void**) &_imageSinkFilter); } void Camera::InitializeVideoFilter() { _videoCaptureFilter->QueryInterface(&_propertyBag); wchar_t deviceName[MAX_PATH] = L"\0"; GetDeviceName(deviceName); CComVariant comName = deviceName; CPropertyBag propertyBag; propertyBag.Write(L"VCapName", &comName); _propertyBag->Load(&propertyBag, NULL); _filterGraph->AddFilter(_videoCaptureFilter, L"Video Capture Filter Source"); } void Camera::InitializeStillImageFilter() { _filterGraph->AddFilter(_imageSinkFilter, L"Still image filter"); _captureGraphBuilder->RenderStream(&PIN_CATEGORY_STILL, &MEDIATYPE_Video, _videoCaptureFilter, NULL, _imageSinkFilter); } void Camera::GetDeviceName(WCHAR *deviceName) { HRESULT hr = S_OK; HANDLE handle = NULL; DEVMGR_DEVICE_INFORMATION di; GUID guidCamera = { 0xCB998A05, 0x122C, 0x4166, 0x84, 0x6A, 0x93, 0x3E, 0x4D, 0x7E, 0x3C, 0x86 }; di.dwSize = sizeof(di); handle = FindFirstDevice(DeviceSearchByGuid, &guidCamera, &di); StringCchCopy(deviceName, MAX_PATH, di.szLegacyName); } Full header file: #ifndef __CAMERA_H__ #define __CAMERA_H__ class Camera { public: void Init(); void DisplayVideoPreview(HWND windowHandle); void TakePicture(WCHAR *fileName); void SetVideoResolution(int width, int height); void SetPhotoResolution(int width, int height); private: CComPtr<ICaptureGraphBuilder2> _captureGraphBuilder; CComPtr<IGraphBuilder> _filterGraph; CComPtr<IBaseFilter> _videoCaptureFilter; CComPtr<IPersistPropertyBag> _propertyBag; CComPtr<IMediaControl> _mediaControl; CComPtr<IAMVideoControl> _videoControl; CComPtr<IBaseFilter> _imageSinkFilter; void GetDeviceName(WCHAR *deviceName); void InitializeVideoFilter(); void InitializeStillImageFilter(); void CreateComObjects(); void SetResolution(bool video, int width, int height); }; #endif
