  Hi, I going to get the command prompt from my C# application to compile some C++ files. Code is like this. private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { string filePath = @"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\bin\cl.exe"; System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(filePath); } But After i click the button it suddenly comes and disappear. Even its opening two command prompts. I need to Hold it and only one command prompt should appear. Can some one provide me the necessary codes. Thank you.

• R problems using rpart with 4000 records and 13 attributes

  I have attempted to email the author of this package without success, just wondering if anybody else has experienced this. I am having an using rpart on 4000 rows of data with 13 attributes. I can run the same test on 300 rows of the same data with no issue. When I run on 4000 rows, Rgui.exe runs consistently at 50% cpu and the UI hangs.... it will stay like this for at least 4-5hours if I let it run, and never exit or become responsive. here is the code I am using both on the 300 and 4000 size subset : train<-read.csv("input.csv",header=T) y<-train[,18] x<-train[,3:17] library(rpart) fit<-rpart(y~.,x) Is this a known limitation of rpart, am I doing something wrong? potential workarounds? any assistance appreciated

  Not sure if this appropriate to put as a question or not? It's sort of a scripting question I think. Just down vote me if not :p Basically, what I'm looking for is a way to push a windows hotkey and have whatever text is in the clipboard be stripped of formatting. An example of what the macro could do: I push (whatever hotkey combo here) open notepad.exe Paste to notepad from clipboard Select all text in notepad Copy/Cut all text from notepad Close notepad I'm just wondering if someone has done something like this before, or knows how it could be accomplished. I think this could be a huge time-saver for almost anyone. I find myself doing this all the time when cutting and pasting between different office applications, etc.

• PartCover and TeamCity

  I am using TeamCity to build via a solution file. I am attempting to get "PartCover" to work it. It is easy enough to point it to the partcover.exe, I am just unsure how to get team city to produce a proper report from the results of our nUnit test. I have added the a coverage.zip file to our setup and it is displaying the correct info under the artefacts tab, however under the code coverage tab the only info displayed is "Coverage by assembly" and nothing else. Any help or ideas would be great.

• Client Profile Application prerequisites

  One last question about Client Profile installation. I downloaded the Microsoft .NET Framework Client Profile Online Installer because we want to put it in the installation CD because our end user might not have either .net framework 3.5 or internet. So we want to be able to handle both cases. In the prerequisites I'm able to select the location of where the file will be, but I don't know where it should be. I want to be able to somehow put the path of the cd, something like d:\ProductName\Prerequisites\DotNetFx35ClientSetup.exe so it can get it and install it from there. • How can I pass Arguments to a C++ program started by the Registry?

  Hello, I'm creating a Win32 program that will be executed every time the computer turns on. I manage to do this by adding the .exe path into the registry. The problem is; I want to make the program appear minimized in the system tray when the computer is turned on but if I double click it [after the computer turns on and the program is not currently running] the program should appear on its normal [maximized] size. Question, I was thinking on whether is was possible to pass an argument to the program when the program is executed from the registry. Is this possible? If yes/no, how would I manage to do this?   I had media files require in the project so i did this + set built action to content Now here are my problems I would like my app to check for .NET and to check for other installs which is fine now that i made a prerequisite I would like to copy media files when i publish One of these files is a config file i like the user to edit Problem is after doing 1 which gives me a publish folder with a setup.exe + files i have no idea where my installed files are and if i modify the file.ext.deploy i get an error about the hash of the file modified. Is there a way i can have plain non deploy files or distribute the bin/release folder as i normally do but add something to check my prerequisite?

  Hi, I've adopted a Visual Studio solution that contains a number WiX projects. We build the solution from an MsBuild script to generate the product's installer msi. The problem I'm experiencing is that if I build (and don't rebuild), even if exe's and dll's get updated that need to be put in the installer, the WiX build system doesn't seem to detect this and skips building the installer as it thinks it's already up to date. How do I work out what the dependencies are that are needed to build a WiX project, and how do I tell the Wix build system to watch out for them changing so it knows to build instead of skip?

I think this can be handled with mod_rewrite and I found this snippet online that blocks bad sites using the referrer.   I am learning how to encrypt the ConnectionString for our C# (3.5) Application. I read the .Net Framwork Developer Guide (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/89211k9b(VS.80).aspx) about securing connection string. but not fully understand the contents. It says "The connection string can only be decrypted on the computer on which it was encrypted." We have a release machine which will build our application which will generate the OurApp.exe.config and then install it to many product machines. Is that meam we have to have this encryption process separated with our application and run it at individual product machine? We may use the "RSAProtectedConfigurationProvider".   I've got an windows mobile 6.5 application I'm developing and am having trouble with one icon. At the top right hand of the screen there is an icon that, when clicked, will display a list of programs running the background with the option to close them. When my program is in this list, it's icon does not show up as the others do. I'm my exe I've got an .ico for 16x16, 22x22, 32x32, 36x36, 44x44, 45x45, 60x60, and 64x64, with the optional 90x90 png and registry setting in my cab. What am I missing?

Is it possible to open the command prompt (and I guess any other terminal for other systems), and execute commands in the newly opened window? Currently what I have is this: Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime(); rt.exec(new String[]{"cmd.exe","/c","start"}); I've tried adding the next command after the "start", I've tried running another rt.exec containing my command, but I can't find a way to make it work. My bigger problem his i could not understand exactly how the Import thing works... after the loader read the information he needs to do the import's thing, i believe he use the LoadLibrary, GetProcAddress APIs... but i couldn't understated what he doing with the pointers he get... he putting them somewhere in memory... and then what just call them?!? all the papers i found in the net explain the structure of the import table, but i didn't found a paper that explain how it is really work and get used... i hope you cold understand my Gibberish English...   i was looking how to inject a dll into a program (exe, or dll, etc). i have been googleing dll injecting but i have not found anything that is very helpful :(. i have not worked with dlls very much so im not sure on what to do, i really could use some help on this. uhh the only thing i have really found is setwindowshookex but i can't find any examples for it and i don't how to use it. any questions just ask and i'll try to help. So if I want to run 'foo', it will look for 'foo.bat', 'foo.exe' under windows and 'foo' under other OSs (or, have a way of passing a map of os-command) Being able to execute Java classes by simply giving the class name and arguments (so the package locates the java command, copies jvm flags and then executes) Process stdout and stderr properly Watchdog / Monitoring capabilities I've looked at commons-exec but it looks like it answers only 3 & 4. Ant has support for execution but looks like an overkill to use it for this purpose only.

  I'm attempting to create my first WCF service. I've created the service and now I'm trying to call it from a asp.net (vb) web site and I've tried adding a web reference to it and using the scvutil.exe to consume the service. So far neither have worked. It's not letting me declare the service in my code. If someone could point me to a good tutorial on how to consume a WCF service in an ASP.Net web site that would be great. I've found numorous on how to use them with AJAX or silverlight or windows apps but nothing on using it in just a plain old website.

• Install the proper bitness Visual C++ Runtime Library via a Setup project

  Hi all! The context: I have a solution that contains amongh other C# projects, a VC++ project that suports compiling only as x64 or Win32 (but not Any CPU). In order for the application (which in fact is a macro for a third party application) to run, it requires Visual C++ Runtime libraries (x86) or (x64) (The macro will run on both x64 and x86 operating systems.) The problem: I want to create a Visual Studio setup project that would install the macro on both x86 and x64 operating systems, and the problem I have is to specify what Visual C++ Runtime library to use a prerequisite. If both are selected (x64 and x86) than I have a runtime error message when running the setup.exe, as on x86 operating systems you cannot run x64 executables like the Visual C++ Runtime libraries (x64) kit is...(which the setup calls in the back). So I would need a bitness condition, or something like that to tell the setup what bitness version of the Visual C++ Runtime library to try to install...I'm not sure if this is possible, or even where such a code should be placed in the setup.
