  hI, I am trying to install the terminal multiplexer tmux on my Debian Lenny server so that I can have multiple terminals through ssh. However I have had a lot of difficulty installing it from the debian package, and by compiling it.   I've got a log file that's managed to bloat upto 150MB. Is there a way to read only the last say 100 lines of the file instead of the whole thing? I don't want to have to download a 150 MB file with my current connection. I'd rather SSH in and read the relevant parts.

• Can you disable the Ctrl-S (XOFF) keystroke in Putty?

  I do a lot of ssh-ing, and periodically I hit Ctrl+S, which naturally sends an XOFF, and causes all kinds of problems (not to mention it takes a while for me to figure out what happened, then another while to remember that I need to press Ctrl+Q to recover. I would much rather instruct Putty to never ever let me type XOFF. Any ideas?

• I wrote a new X11 keyboard layout file, how do I get my system to recognize it?

  I like to configure my keys my way, so I wrote a keyboard symbols file and I put it in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/cat I use it by running setxkbmap cat -variant dvorak (and it works), but it doesn't show up in the console configuration (dpkg-reconfigure console-setup) nor in the Gnome keyboard settings... nor anywhere else, so I have to run setxkbmap every time. I suppose that I have to register it somewhere, but where? Any hints? Thanks!

All users home directory's are /home/USER I was wondering: What usergroup should users be in; or should they have their own usergroups()? What user and group should Apache run under? • Apache shuts down from time to time

  I'm having trouble with my VPS as it keeps shutting apache down at least twice a day. The server is running on CentOS 6 with the latest apache. By shutting down I mean I have to go into SSH and type in this command in order to bring it up again: /sbin/service httpd start I'm not very good with servers and my host doesn't seem to have a nice customer service. Any help would be appreciated as these unexpected downtimes really know to kill one's mood.

I got the Windows 8 ISO from MSDN but I didn't get enough keys to install it on all my 7 computers.   I want to run the same commands on multiple machines, I know I can do this using ssh scripting or things like clusterssh, however I don't want to install anything on the server. (Don't have the rights) What I want is to just clone the keystrokes across multiple machines e.g. run cat /etc/oratab on one window and same is run on multiple windows e.g. in putty, is there a tool to do that from a windows client.
