  • Any Application to bind various documents

    I communicate with the client using various tools such as MS Outlook,Mailing through Google/ Yahoo accounts, sending Word or Excel documents as attachments through this mail. What I am looking at is there any tool which will help me in binding all these documents so that I may be able to virtually bind all these documents of a particular client. For example all these documents were sent to Client A 2 Outlook mails without attachment 2 Web mails with MS-Word attachment 1 Web Mail with Excel attachment Now I wish I had a document which would bind the Outlook mail bodies as text files MS-Word documents Excel document Previous versions of MS-Office had Office Binder. Is there something similar to this Thanx.

  • Application for time and project management

    I want to improve the way I organize my projects/tasks/schedule What I do now is: keep an excel sheet with the name of the most important tasks/projects, I look at it at the beginning of each day and decide the ones I will focus on on iCal I write down events for each day, or for a concrete time (13 to 14 hours). I set up each day the tasks I want to accomlish, and allocate them hours I use Things (culture code) to keep info about tasks and projects not very important and which are not time allocated yet (GTD name = someday) I use Mail on Mac and create folders for the mails I want to process with the name of the different projects I save the main info for each project on freemind maps My system works well at the moment but it is pretty complicated to use. I want to make it better and I am looking for something with these requirements: must be 100% offline accessable it should use as less programs/resources as possible, ideally just one program should be able to manage all my info I can use the GTD methodology mixed with priorities and I can allocate each task converted to event on my calendar I can have different daily/weekly, etc views on a calendar to see the "big picture" must run on mac os x leopard price does not matter, I will pay for this So, according to your experience, can you recommend me something like this?     There are times when you need to spare hardware resources (either to keep using legacy hardware, to play the embedded card, or just to be efficient because a large footprint is trashing CPU caches, leading to unacceptable levels of idle-states). In this spirit, some efforts have been made to make 'light' ports of Java or Mono (C# for Linux), and they range in the 80-50 MB (instead of the 100-200 MB). Add a Web server (Apache, IIS, etc.) to the scripting engine and you can happily dive into the GB (IIS + .Net) only to load the tool in memory. Anybody with more modest tools in the specs area?

  • User authentication -- username mismatch in IIS in ASP.NET application

    Last week, an employee's Active Directory username was changed (or a new one was created for them). For the purposes of this example, let's assume these usernames: Old: Domain\11111 New: Domain\22222 When this user now logs in using their new username, and attempts to browse to any one of a number of ASP.NET applications using only Windows Authentication (no Anonymous enabled), the system authenticates but our next layer of database-driven permissions prevents them from being authorized. We tracked it down to a mismatch of usernames between their logon account and who IIS thinks they are. Below are the outputs of several ASP.NET variables from apps running in a Windows 2008 IIS7.5 environment: Request.ServerVariables["AUTH_TYPE"]: Negotiate Request.ServerVariables["AUTH_USER"]: Domain\11111 Request.ServerVariables["LOGON_USER"]: Domain\22222 Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_USER"]: Domain\11111 HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name: Domain\11111 System.Threading.Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity.Name: Domain\11111 From the above, I can see that only the LOGON_USER server variable has the correct value, which is the account the user used to log on to their machine. However, we use the "AUTH_USER" variable for looking up the database permissions. In a separate testing environment (completely different server: Windows 2003, IIS6), all of the above variables show "Domain\22222". So this seems to be a server-specific issue, like the credentials are somehow getting cached either on their machine or on the server (the former seems more plausible). So the question is: how do I confirm whether it's the user's machine or the server that is botching the request? How should I go about fixing this?     I use a lot of tools at work and at home, and im constantly tweaking them in one location or the other. It's somewhat common practice for people to use Git to version their .vim, .vimrc, and other . files, since you can host your config files on github and have the share-ability and all the other advantages that implies. Being able to version and branch my configs sounds like a grand idea, since I'm always messing about with them. I'd like to discuss the best practice for doing this on a slightly wider scope. How would you implement it? Have your configfiles repo in ~/Library/Configs or similar, and symlink the appropriate files? How to handle preference files for Applications, ie iTerm2. These files are recreated every time, so you'd have to symlink 'backwards' and put a link in the repo? rather than symlinking to the repo, since it would just delete the symlink.

  • SharePoint Web Analytics not tracking usage for main application

    My SP 2010 setup is two separate applications - one for the main portal and one for MySite. Whilst WebAnalytics is tracking usage of MySite it's not showing any stats for the main Portal. The only thing it lists is the number of site collections but no page views etc. The WA service is clearly running to pick up data for MySite. In Configure web analytics and health data collection everything is ticked. I can't find any obvious settings that are different between the two applications. Where should I look to get usage tracking correctly? Edit: Having played with the date ranges I see that actually I've got no stats in the last 7 days for any site at all including MySite which has been working at some point previously. Edit: What does each service (WA Data Processing Service vs WA Web Services) do and where should they be active? At present they're both running on an App server but not on the WFEs (although they were running on WFEs previously). From what I can gather than only need to run on an App server but I find it strange that the only logged activity I see in the staging database relates to Central Admin URLs on the App server and nothing from the WFEs.

  • Editing the registry entry to have Citrix call the local install of an application

    We use Citrix to access an app (APP1) remotely. As it currently stands, when APP1 needs to do a merge document, it calls a session of another app (APP2) from the Citrix server. However, due to latency issues, we now want APP1 to call a local version of APP2. This is controlled in the registry entry for APP1. I'm wondering what kind of path entry would need to be made so that APP1 would call the local APP2 while following the rules of the Citrix profile.

  • Alias a Virtual Directory or Application as Root on IIS 7

    Our current IIS setup as two applications running on different paths at (for example) http://server/sub-a and http://server/sub-b. I want to alias http://server/sub-a as root so that just going to http://server/ will bring up the contents of sub-a. The problem I face is that when I initially set up a ReverseProxy it negatively affected http://server/sub-b. I know this is a fairly common problem- how have you solved it? 99.9% of my experience is with Apache, so I feel a tad lost in the GUI world of IIS.

    I have a question about proxy and ajp module. On my machine I have a Apache web server and a Tomcat servlet container. On Tomcat is running a my java webapplication.   • Run GUI application via cronjob in Ubuntu?

    Hi, I have a remote server running "Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop". From it I want to run a script that walks through a list of websites and captures screenshots of them. The script is working and thoroughly tested. When I SSH to the server with ssh -X user@ip-adress I can run my script by calling ./myscript.py and everything will work OK. I then modifed my crontab file and added... 59 17 * * * env DISPLAY=:0 /path/to/myscript.py ...as recommended by the Ubuntu WIKI. I can see in the /var/log/syslog that my cron job is started, but it doesn't capture any screenshots. When running env DISPLAY=:0 /path/to/myscript.py from the shell I get No protocol specified myscript.py: cannot connect to X server :0 If I ssh to the server without the -X option I only get the second row of the error: myscript.py: cannot connect to X server :0 What can I try now? More details I have run xhost +local: and checked the output of xhost to see that the option was set correctly. If I run ls /tmp/.X11-unix/ the output is X0 The server only has one screen.   • All application passwords lost on Windows 7

    A couple of days ago I changed my Windows 7 login password. My laptop is on my company's domain, so password changes are done over the internal network. Since changing the password I noticed that all my saved Chrome passwords are missing. Also Skype, Windows Live, Internet Explorer and Outlook lost their saved passwords. I guess there could be more applications with lost passwords, but I have not opened them yet. This makes me think that most applications saves their passwords to a general password vault on the Windows system and this vault got somehow corrupted when I changed my domain login password for windows. Do anyone have any idea of how to fix this and prevent it from happening again? EDIT : More Info I do development work at the office, so most of the time I bypass the firewall and connect directly to the internet gateway. Now and then I would connect to the company wifi network to do printing and access files on a NAS. So by default my laptop does not connect to the wifi hotspot. On this occasion to update the password, I had to connect to the wifi. So referring to the comment by OmnipotentEntity below, could this have happened when the system rebooted without a connection to the network as the laptop does not auto connect to the wifi hotspot?

    Hi When I try to start my local server in RAD it takes ages to start. In startserver.log it stays at the following log statement for about 5 minutes ADMU3100I: Reading configuration for server: server1 When it moves on from this log statement, the server starts as normal. I have tried creating a new server profile and starting a server with no projects but I get the same results. What could be the issue here? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. We have created all users and different groups as follows: dn: dc=ldapserver,dc=local dn: ou=people,dc=ldapserver,dc=local ou: people dn: uid=geo,ou=people,dc=ldapserver,dc=local dn: uid=user,ou=people,dc=ldapserver,dc=local dn: ou=groups,dc=ldapserver,dc=local dn: cn=server,ou=groups,dc=ldapserver,dc=local member: uid=geo,ou=people,dc=ldapserver,dc=local dn: cn=website,ou=groups,dc=ldapserver,dc=local member: uid=user,ou=people,dc=ldapserver,dc=local We need scenario in such a way that the users that are member of server need only login to server (that is geo) and users that are member of website need only login to websites (That is user “user”). Please let me know how we can configure it. For login site we tried by giving DN as cn=website,ou=groups,dc=ldapserver,dc=local and Login Attribute as uid and also member but it is not working. Can anyone please help us on it. Also please let us know is there any other option for accomplish this scenario. Thanks Geo

    Hello, Hopefully this is the right place for this question. I have done a fair amount of research and yet to find anything that matches what I want. What I'm envisioning is the following. Let me know if any of you know of a program that will do what I want. Also it must be web-based anom user - fills out form - email gets sent to admin saying xyz has filled out form abc with links to approve/disapprove request. admin can also login and edit form and resent results to original submitter. Also once the admin approves/disapproves request the original submitter gets an approve/disapprove email. and you can search by date submitted, specific project/form, status of request(submitted, approved, disapproved). any ideas all on where I could find this? I started to look into drupal with workflows and actions but it just doesn't flow right for this

  • Psexec issue when running an application on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine from a 2003 R2 machine

    I am trying to run an application on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine from a Windows Server 2003 R2 machine using a batch file with the following line of code in a batch file: psexec \\nightmachine -u DOMAIN\User -p Password -i "C:\FilePath\Application.exe" argument1 argument2 The application fails to run correctly when started using psexec, but the application will run correctly if I have logged into the nightmachine with the same user and started it from its file path via cmd. I have been able to get hold of the error returned in the application from its log and the exception returned is the following: System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'rasapi32.dll': A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007045A) After searching for that error code on the net, there are a lot of posts saying that this is caused by file corruption, but I cant see why that would be the case as the application will run normally when not being run from psexec. (the user is an administrator on both machines) Can anyone please help me on this? If any more information is needed to help solve this issue then please ask and I will do my best to post it.
