• Zend_Soap with attachments (server)

  i'm trying to build a SOAP service with Zend_Soap. Everything is working great but the client needs the ability to send attachments to the service (not base64 encoded strings, as this service will be called multiple times a day with various file sizes so processing all that in memory is not possible. So I'd like to handle a normal SOAP attachment (DIME/MIME) with the SOAP server in Zend Framework however I'm unable to find documentation about it. Can I access it with $_FILES[] or any other way? Is it even possible in Zend_Soap (as there's not that much info available). SOAP is a must - so thanks for the advice but it has to be SOAP, not REST.

• Complex class using PHP soapserver mapclass

  Hi all, I need to create a server for processing SOAP requests. I have the wsdl and xml specifications, but I have a doubt: the xml elements are pretty complex, they are not simple type, but they have parent/child relationships (e.g. I have a Book class with an author subclass). How can I map this to PHP classes? In this example, should I create an author class i.e.: class Author { public $name; public $surname; } and then class Book { public $author; } will $author be a class of type Author? Or a typed array? Any help will be appreciated Thanks and happy new year!

• How to prevent robots from automatically filling up a form?

  I'm trying to come up with a good enough anti-spamming mechanism to prevent automatically generated input. I've read that techniques like captcha, 1+1=? stuff work well, but they also present an extra step impeding the free quick use of the application. (I'm not looking for anything like that please). I've tried setting some hidden fields in all of my forms, with display: none; However, I'm almost certain a robot (which is essentially a program) can be configured to trace that form field id and simply not fill it. Do you implement/know of a good anti automatic-form-filling-robots method? Is there something that can be done seamlessly with HTML AND/OR server side processing, and be (almost) foolproof? (and please no JS, one could simply disable it, and there goes my anti-spam method). Btw I'm trying not to rely on sessions for this (like, counting how many times a button is clicked to prevent overloads).

  Hi, I want to add an progress bar into my C# based application. I would like to know what is the good way of updating its value at particular events? My problem is, I have single function in UI which does all the processing.This function in turn calls many more functions, creates objects, updates database, etc. (basically performs all the work) and returns values in an output file. I have access to that function only. So in this how to update the progressbar's value at the end of each step? What is the best practice for this kind of situation? What is the good way to keep UI logic and business logic seperate? I want to avoid writting progressbar related code in my library code. Please suggest some solution. Thanks and Regards,

  Our product utilizes (the wonderful) Winpcap to capture ip packets from all devices with an IP address and analyze them in real time. Unfortunately, we discovered that it does NOT capture any packets on dialup (e.g. PPP) connections on Windows 7, and that there are no near-term plans for enabling this (1). So we need something else. Microsoft Network Monitor and Windows Packet Filter are two options that surfaced during a bit of googling, but before delving into research I wanted to ask the experienced: what are out options, given the following requirements: Capture all in/outbound IP packets on the machine. Complete background processing - no UI should be involved. Support Windows Vista / 7. Performance (user should not feel the difference). Thanks in advance.

When evaluating on my Macbook Pro, Core Image decides to schedule all graphics computation on the GPU, as expected. When using a MacPro, however, CI uses the CPUs! This is a problem, as we need them for other processing. [1] The question now is: Can one tell CI to run exclusively on the GPU? [1] Both hardware sets are of the newest kind.   Hi, I need to find all invocations of some logging macros in the code. The macro invocation is of the form: DEBUG[1-5] ( "methodName: the logged message", arguments) But the new versions of the macros are prepending the name of the method automatically, so my task is to write a Python script that will remove the duplicate function names specified already by the programmer. I'm using the sub function from the re module. I plan to substitute the part indicated by || signs below : ||DEBUG[1-5] ("methodName: || the logged message", arguments) with simply DEBUG[1-5](" The problem is following: To find the expressions I want to substitute, I use the following regular expression: ((DEBUG | INFO | all other macros names )[1-5]*)\s*\(\"\w+: But it doesn't match the whole expression ( from DEBUG right to the colon ), but only the macro name, that is for example DEBUG5. Is my expression wrong or there is some quirk in the Python regex processing? ( maybe the fact that I use the DEBUG[1-5] as a subgroup has something to do with this? ) Help from anyone more knowledgable than me appreciated :).

  I have an image uploading script in which i use the following setup to assign names to uploaded images; $saltdate = date( 'U' ); $saltuser = $_SERVER[REMOTE_ADDR]; $saltname = md5($saltdate.$saltuser); // Recieve, Process, Save uploaded image // Update database with image name The problem that i encounter is that after processing/saving the image, when its time to add this file name to the database, the value of $saltdate seems to have changed and i will get a file name in the database that doesnt exist. How can i make sure that the value doesn't change once i establish it?

An the content in-between "{ }" should remain unchanged: Ex: \\d{4} after replacing -> NCHAR(0x7B) 4 NCHAR(0x7D). Is there a way to do this using Regular Expressions in Java?. Anyway, this can be done processing the whole string using string operations.

Let's suppose we have : A: public class MyDict { public Dictionary<int,string> dict; // do custom-serialization of "dict" public void SaveToFile(...); // customized deserialization of "dict" public void LoadFromFile(...); } B: public class MyDict : Dictionary<int,string> { } Which option would be better in the matter of programming style ? class B: is to be de/serialized externally. Main problem is : is it better to create new class (which would have only one property - like opt A:) or to create a new class derived - like opt B: ?   I'm currently coding a function in MATLAB that has two steps: It processes some data It does some calculations on the processed data I'm using the function to run a series of experiments, where I tweak the way calculations occur in step 2). Seeing how I'm working with a large dataset and the data processing step takes a while each time, however, I'm wondering whether there is anyway to code in a "warm start" in the function. That is to say, is there anyway to save all the progress that I've done after step 1) so that if I run the function a second or third time, it can skip step 1) and go right to step 2)?

• Java ThreadPool for multiple identical tasks

  I have 1 thread who sole job is to grab DatagramPackets off of a socket and stick them in a buffer. Another thread works out of that buffer, processing the DatagramPackets. I'd like to have a pool of threads working out of that buffer. I had thought to use a fixed thread pool to do this. To do so, do I need to create the pool, then submit enough runnables for execution to fill it up? I had hoped for a way to say "this is the thread/runnable that I want you to execute, this is how many I want running, GO!". Is there such a method of doing this? Is something other than a fixed thread pool better suited?

• Compilation failing - no #include - boost

  Hi, I'm trying to compile a third-party library, but g++ is complaining about the following line: typedef boost::shared_ptr<MessageConsumer> MessageConsumerPtr; The strange thing is, there is no #include directive in the file - and it is clearly supposed to be this way; there are about 60 files with the same (or very similar) issues. Clearly if there was an #include directive referencing the relevant boost header this would compile cleanly. My question is: how can I get g++ to somehow automagically find the relevant symbol (in all instances of this issue, it is a namespace that can't be found - usually std:: or boost::) by either automatically processing the relevant header (or some other mechanism).   So I have some cool Image Processing algorithm. I have written it in OCaml. It performs well. I now I can compile it as C code with such command ocamlc -output-obj -o foo.c foo.ml (I have a situation where I am not alowed to use OCaml compiler to bild my programm for my arcetecture, I can use only specialy modified gcc. so I will compile that programm with sometyhing like gcc -L/usr/lib/ocaml foo.c -lcamlrun -lm -lncurses and Itll run on my archetecture.) I want to know in general case can a program written in C be faster than one written in OCaml and translated to C?

• Pass off execution to different/specific thread in Java

  I have about 4 threads. One thread keeps checking some data that the other thread is updating. The others are doing some processing in the background. All have been started at this point. My question is when the checking thread sees that the data has not been updated yet I currently sleep for a little bit but is there any way for me to tell the system to back to executing the thread that does the updating? That or is there any way I can put something like a listener on the data(a String) and once its updated an event will fire that will do what it needs to do? I tried using yield() and it seemed to just keep returning to the thread I called yield() from. Thanks

• Winlibre - An Aptitude-Synaptic for Windows. Would that be useful?

  Hi everyone. Last year, in 2009 GSoC, I participated with an organization called Winlibre. The basic idea is having a project similar to Aptitude (or Apt-get) and a GUI like Synaptic but for Windows and just to hold (initially), only open source software. The project was just ok, we finished what we considered was a good starting point but unfortunately, due to different occupations of the developers, the project has been idle almost since GSoC finished. Now, I have some energy, time and interest to try to continue this development. The project was divided in 3 parts: A repository server (which i worked on, and which was going to store and serve packages and files), a package creator for developers, and the main app, which is apt-get and its GUI. I have been thinking about the project, and the first question that came to my mind is.. actually is this project useful for developers and Windows users? Keep in mind that the idea is to solve dependencies problems, and install packages "cleanly". I'm not a Windows developer and just a casual user, so i really don't have a lot of experience on how things are handled there, but as far as I have seen, all installers handle those dependencies. Will windows developers be willing to switch from installers to a packages way of handling installations of Open source Software? Or it's just ok to create packages for already existing installers? The packages concept is basically the same as .deb or .rpm files. I still have some other questions, but basically i would like to make sure that it's useful in someway to users and Windows developers, and if developers would find this project interesting.   Hello Friends, I am writing one simple web page with bunch of textboxes and a button control. Now when user finished editing the values on this text boxes user has to click the button and this button invoke heavily process intensive algorithm on server side code based on the data received from client (Textboxes) And it could some time takes up to 30 to 45 minutes to complete the whole operation so the current thread is still inside the button click event handler function. That background task only provides one event, and the web page subscribes to it to get some text data after each stage of processing I was wandering if there is any way I can keep user up-to-date with what is the current progress on that background task. I have div element to print the current status information So I am looking for some sort of reverse mechanism then "get" and "post". I have read some articles on the Comet (programming) but I can't find any easy or definitive answer Thanks in advance

  Is there a way to reference the colours used in the jQuery themes without creating a simple style for each theme that I may choose to use? Example: I have some text as follows <div>Hello</div> which I'd like to be change colour in line with my theme of the day. I wish to use the primary colour from a theme (say ui-lightness) which is "#1c94c4" as defined in several of the styles such as ui-state-default in ui-lightness.css The problem is that if I do the following <div class='ui-state-default'>Hello</div> I get all the other style effects, like borders and background colour, which are not right for my application What I'd like to do is something like <div class='ui-primary-color'>Hello</div> which would automatically change only the colour dependent on the theme. PS. Doing a pre-build pre-processing step to parse the themes and generate a customised css style would be my least favourable option here!

• How to iterate over numerically named object properties

  So I have a horribly designed class that I can't change that has properties like this: object.Color1 object.Color2 object.Color3 etc... How can I iterate through those with a for loop. In other words, something like this: for (int i = 0; i <= 40; i++) { string PropertyName = "Color" + i; if (object.PropertyName != "") { // do something } } Obviously this code wouldn't work but it gives you an idea of what I'm after. I have to do some processing on each property and I don't want to repeat my code 40 times. :) A loop would be perfect, I'm just not sure how to create the name of the property on the fly.
