I have searched and read, but cannot find any trace of how to actually do anything about this. I tried running a scandisk but that did not find anything (as I expected, since scandisk reads the disks as exposed by the controller, right?). The MegaRAID Storage Manager does not as far as I can see have any options for checking or fixing physical disks. The program claims the VD is "healty", and both disks have Error count 0. Also a bit strange is the System details in the message... The IP address is associated with the RAS (dial in) interface, and the OS should be Windows Server 2011 SBS. Has anyone else experienced this before? What can be done?

• High CPU usage by 'svchost.exe' and 'coreServiceShell.exe'

  I am having a laptop running on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit. Since past few days, my laptop is facing a serious problem. Whenever I connect to Internet, either svchost.exe or coreServiceShell.exe or both hog the CPU. The coreServiceShell.exe consumes a lot of RAM also. Going into the details, I found that high CPU usage of svchost.exe is caused by Network Location Awareness service. And the high CPU usage of coreServiceShell.exe is caused by Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security 2012. That kind'a makes me think that Trend Micro may be the root of the problem. After further testing, I found that if I use IE or Firefox to browse the Internet, immediately after connecting to Internet, things are normal. See and But if I use Google Chrome, the coreServiceShell.exe hogs both CPU and RAM. At this point, if I disconnect the Internet, the CPU and RAM usage by coreServiceShell.exe continues to be high till I close the Chrome. Also, when I close the Chrome, while Internet is connected, svchost.exe continues to hog CPU but coreServiceShell.exe leaves the race. That makes think that Chrome is the root of the problem, but again, tracing coreServiceShell.exe takes me back to Trend Micro Internet Security. Stopping the Protection by the Trend Micro Internet Security doesn't help either (I am not able to stop its services though). I have updated the Chrome, but no help. I just can't figure out who is the culprit. I can't do without the Google Chrome (of course, by not using it) because of its immensely useful and indispensable features both during browsing and development. Secondly, I can't uninstall the Trend Micro Internet security Suite since it still has few months before it expires and is proving me reliable protection. What could be the cause of the problem and what can I do to resolve this? Thanks in advance

  I found something contradictory in Oracle VM. Clustered server pool creation in Oracle VM would format my FC LUN as ocfs2 , and start o2cb & ocfs2 services to build cluster environment. After that, when I wanted to create repository on the serverpool, unexpectedly, it told me that the physical disk I chose which is also my FC LUN, already contains a file system. What a contradictory! So what, delete the file system in serverpool? If so, why created it before?!   I have a server running Django/Nginx/uWSGI with uWSGI in emperor mode, and the error log for it (the vassal-level error log, not the emperor-level log) has a continual permissions error every time it spawns a new worker, like so: Tue Jun 26 19:34:55 2012 - Respawned uWSGI worker 2 (new pid: 9334) Error opening file for reading: Permission denied Problem is, I don't know what file it's having trouble opening; it's not the log file, obviously, since I'm looking at it and it's writing to that without issue. The site is working successfully, aside from what seems like a memory leak...hence my looking at the log file. • Telnet does not give a response

  Some wireless access points are acting a little weird, so I want to reboot them every couple of hours. Luckily there exists a security flaw which lets me login as root through telnet when using port 1111 (without username and password). Now I want to use that to let my QNAP NAS execute the reboot command through telnet every now and then. The problem is however that that telnet version doesn't give any response if I connect to the AP. The telnet I use on OSX works just fine but the one on the NAS not. BusyBox v1.01 (2012.06.14-18:35+0000) multi-call binary Usage: telnet [-a] [-l USER] HOST [PORT] When I execute telnet <HOST> 1111 nothing happens. I can send the escape character ^] which gives me the following options: Console escape. Commands are: l go to line mode c go to character mode z suspend telnet e exit telnet The only way to get some commands executed is by suspending telnet with z followed by some random command which isn't recognized. Then the prompt shows this: # telnet 192.168.1.5 1111 ^] Console escape. Commands are: l go to line mode c go to character mode z suspend telnet e exit telnet z continuing... asdf Illegal command. 00> After that I am able to communicate with the AP, but when I exit the telnet session and try the same again, the AP refuses to connect at all and it must be manually rebooted (looks like the telnet session isn't shut down properly on the AP). So the question is what commands should I execute in order to communicate with the AP using the Busybox telnet version of the QNAP? (No, can't use ssh unfortunately)

  By mistake I entered an iSCSI target portal address in the iSCSI Initiator on one of our virtual servers that does not have an address in the network range used for iSCSI. This caused the following errors/warnings to appear in the eventlog: Log Name: System Source: MSiSCSI Event ID: 113 Level: Warning Description: iSCSI discovery via SendTargets failed with error code 0xefff0003 to target portal *192.168.23.42 0003260 Root\ISCSIPRT\0000_0 . Log Name: System Source: iScsiPrt Event ID: 1 Level: Error Description: Initiator failed to connect to the target. Target IP address and TCP Port number are given in dump data. Log Name: System Source: iScsiPrt Event ID: 70 Level: Error Description: Error occurred when processing iSCSI logon request. The request was not retried. Error status is given in the dump data. So far that's expected beahvior, so I removed the portal from the iSCSI Initiator as described in MSKB 976072. However, the errors/warnings keep appearing every hour, even though neither iSCSI Initiator GUI nor iscscli show any portals: C:\>iscsicli ListTargetPortals Microsoft iSCSI Initiator Version 6.1 Build 7601 The operation completed successfully. The problem persists after rebooting the server. Uninstalling the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator device via devmgmt.msc as well as changing the Initiator parameters like this: [HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E97B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}] "MaxPendingRequests"=dword:00000001 "MaxConnectionRetries"=dword:00000001 "MaxRequestHoldTime"=dword:00000005 didn't help either. Each change was followed by a reboot. Disabling the device does prevent the errors/warnings from re-appearing, of course, but I'd rather not have to resort to this. How can I prevent those errors and warnings from appearing (short of disabling the initiator device or re-installing the server)? What am I missing? • Wacom consumer tablet driver service may crash while opening Bamboo Preferences, often after resuming computer from sleep

  One of the ExpressKeys on my Wacom Bamboo Capture graphics tablet is mapped to Bamboo Preferences, so that I can quickly access the tablet settings and view the battery level (I have the Wireless Accessory Kit installed). However, when I connect the tablet to the computer, in wired or wireless mode, and attempt to open Bamboo Preferences, the Wacom consumer tablet driver service may crash, most often when I try to do so after resuming the computer from sleep. There is usually no direct indication of the crash (although I once did get Tablet Service for consumer driver stopped working and was closed), only that the cursor shows that the system is busy for a split second. When this happens, the pen no longer tracks on the screen when in proximity of the tablet (even though it is detected by the tablet itself); however, touch continues to function correctly. To recover from this condition, I need to restart the tablet driver services. I got tired of having to go through Task Manager to restart the service every time this happens, so I ended up writing the following command script, with a shortcut on the desktop for running it with elevated privileges: net stop TabletServicePen net start TabletServicePen net stop TouchServicePen net start TouchServicePen Is there something I can do to prevent these crashes from happening in the first place, or do I have have to deal with this issue until the driver is updated? Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Tablet drivers are up to date.
