• UIPickerView in iphone

  hi, i am making an application of iphone, in which i have a table view, on every row of table view i have created a button programmatically & on its click method am showing picker view. • How to perform a cell deselection when a user returns to a table view?

  I am using a UITableView to display a list of cells, when the user selects a cell then a new view appears by using the following code: - (void) tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { [self.navigationController pushViewController: detailsViewController animated: TRUE]; } By using the code above, the view is displayed correctly, but when I return back to the root table view, then the cell is still selected. I noticed, in many sdk examples, that the cell is deselected (with a nice animation) when the root view is poped pack, but I could not find the code that implemented this feature in any of the examples. I know that I can use: [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated: YES]; to implement this, but I am very curious on how these examples do it without using any code. Any ideas?

  is there a good way to do a Linq GroupBy where the grouping key is determined at runtime? e.g. I want the grouping key to be built from a user-selected list of fields - can you do this? I know I can do it easily if I convert everything to a table of strings, but I was wondering if there was an elegant or clever way to accomplish this otherwise. class Item { public int A, B; public DateTime D; public double X, Y, Z; } I have a List<Item> called data. I want to do things like retrieve the sum of X grouped by A, or the sums of X, Y, and Z, grouped by A and B. but what fields go into the grouping should be able to be specified at runtime in some way.

• knockout.js with optionsValue and value

  Is there a way to keep the value binding to the object, but have the optionsValue be a property on the object. As of now if I specify both, the optionsValue property that is selected will populate the value binding. Id like to keep the object intact in the observable, but specify what value to be set in the select list value.   I have a small .NET WinForms application, and couple of linux servers, DEV and CL1,CL2..CLN (DEV is development server and CL* are servers which belons to our clients, they are in private networks and it's a kind of production servers) I want an update mechanism so that (1) i develop a new version and publish it to a DEV (2) users of DEV-server install latest version from DEV (3) users of CL2 (employees of client2) install stable version from CL-2 directly (4) application checks for updates using server it was installed from (so, if it was installed from CL-2, it should check CL-2 for updates) (5) i should be able to propogate the update to a selected CL-server (using just file copy & maybe sed; not republishing), if i want that (and if i don't, that CL-server will have an old version until manually i update it) I tried to use clickonce, but looks like it meets only first two requirements. What should i do?

I have everything working - and storing - properly using date_select and adding :discard_month and :discard_day. However when I render @profile.grad_year I get the month and day values. So I'm wondering how to store and render only the year for @profile.grad_year? • How to prevent an automerge using git?

  I am trying to merge a local branch into the master branch without having Git to do an automerge. I would like to “hand pick” what I would like to be merged into master. When I use Git’s difftool command, I am able to diff and select what I want to be added into the master branch. But then when I do a merge, I will lose what I selected prior because Git will do an automerge. I can commit the changes into master prior to the merge, but doing so seems unnatural. And Git’s mergetool is only available when there are conflicts from a merge. But if Git does an automerge then usually there aren’t conflicts, so I am unable to run the mergetool command.

• How can I get a nstableview to send an action when the user double-clicks an editable cell

  I am trying to emulate the behavior found in finder and itunes. Single click on a selected object edits it. Double click opens the object. I have set the doubleAction of the tableView but like it says in the documentation. "If the double-clicked cell is editable, this message isn’t sent and the cell is edited instead." I dont want this. Is there a way i can get that message sent even if the cell is editable? I really have no idea how to begin implementing this. Any general pointers would be appreciated.

  Having trouble with AR 2.3.5, e.g.: users = User.all( :select => "u.id, c.user_id", :from => "users u, connections c", :conditions => ... ) Returns, e.g.: => [#<User id: 1000>] >> users.first.attributes => {"id"=>1000, "user_id"=>"1000"} Note that AR returns the id of the model searched as numeric but the selected user_id of the joined model as a String, although both are int(11) in the database schema. How could I better form this type of query to select columns of tables backing multiple models and retrieving their natural type rather than String ? Seems like AR is punting on this somewhere. How could I coerce the returned types at AR load time and not have to tack .to_i (etc.) onto every post-hoc access?

The same store must be able to support multiple languages via the user's language selection and/or browser preference. I have two tables: Item (id, sku, price, ...) ItemDetails (item_id, language, title, ...) For each Item, there will be multiple rows corresponding to the item, where the (item_id,language) pair will be unique. • Tallying records using annotate() not working as should.

  I have two classes: Vehicle and Issues....a Vehicle object can have several issues recorded in the Issues class. What I want to do is to have a list of all issues, with each vehicle appearing only once and the total number of issues shown, plus other details....clicking on the record will then take the user to another page with all those issues for a selected vehicle shown in detail now. • didSelectRowAtIndexPath being called after viewDidLoad of the called view

  I am trying to pass variables over to the new view. I have the following code: appDelegate *dataCenter = (AppDelegate*)[[UIApplication sharedApplication] delegate]; dataCenter.myVariable = [array objectAtIndex:indexPath.row]; in the didSelectRowAtIndexPath of the calling view. However, the issue that I have is that this variable is empty in the vewDidLoad function of the next view, simply because it fired off BEFORE the didSelectRowAtIndexPath of the calling view. I am using storyboard to link the views together. Both are UITableView. If I hit back and then reselect the table element it is then set, granted that by the time I hit back and then selected again, the variable got set. Is there any way to for the order of execution? I really don't want to do UI view switching on the back end. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  I have been finding ways around this for a long time but think it's time I addressed it. If I have a page that has a dropdown menu, is there anyway I can select a value which will subsequently load other values further down. Can this be done without a page reload? I will give you an example. Say I was making some tools for an admin panel, but first of all they needed to select a member to work with. They would select the member and then below, the fields about that member would be populated based on what was selected in the first menu. As I have already asked, can this be done without a page reload? Thanks for reading.

• C# Why is a treeview node clicked when canceled is set to true?

  In my winform application I have a treeview. To give the idea that a node is disabled I set the node's forecolor and I when the BeforeSelect fires I set e.cancel to true. However when a node's tag meets some criteria a node may be selected. So that's why I have a NodeMouseClick. But when a node may not be clicked I set the e.cancel to true in the BeforeSelect event. The problem now is, the NodeMousClick event is always fired and all the code is ececuted, even when I set e.cancel to true in the BeforeSelect event. Why is that?

  Hello, heres basically what I need to get done. I have a jsp page which allows me to add/modify/delete an item. The items are stored in a database which I have controller classes to access(dont worry bout that part) When an item gets selected and deleted the id of the item gets sent to the controller to be processed. The item will not always be deleted if their is a foreign key constraint so I send either a delete=true or delete=false through url back to the jsp page. I would like to have it so a javascript function gets called displaying an alert saying the item was deleted or the item was not deleted. can someone please tell me the best way to do this? thank you

  Ive looked at other questions and answers but still dont understand which brings me here. I have one data base two tables. lets say table1 and table2 from database. I'm looking to grab all the information from table1 and only one column from table2 that coincides with the correct row in table1. Example which I know is wrong: SELECT table1.*, table2.time_stamp FROM table1, table2 WHERE table1.ticket_id=$var AND table1.user_id = table2.user_id Basically select data from table1 then use a value from the selected table to grab the related data from table2 and join them to output them as one mysql_query. Im sure its simple and has been asked before. edit: I dont receive an error. To be more precisely, my requirements are the following: the toolbar should consist of iconic and textual buttons and dropdown widgets buttons should either trigger actions directly or open submenus buttons and submenus should have the ability to remember the last selected state buttonsets should group multiple buttons and only allow one of them to be active In short words, I'm looking for a real toolbar in jquery and not for some modified site menu. I experimented with the button/buttonset/menu widget in jquery ui 1.9m2, but found its IE performance rather poor. It also felt awkward to combine these isolated widgets into a logically connected toolbar. Does anyone know of a better jquery toolbar plugin?

  I wrote an unit test for a controller. I have a Bootstrap file which alter the metaclass of domain classes by adding a method asPublicMap(). I use this method in the controller to return domain classes as json but only some selected public fields. My unit test failed because of MissingMethodException for asPublicMap(). As I understood, bootstrap classes are not loaded for unit tests, only for integration tests. That's why I got this error. My question is : Is there another place to put metaclass manipulation in order to take them into account during unit tests ?

• Bundling images with Blackberry

  How do I get bundled images with the BlackBerry Eclipse Plugin 1.1 Beta? I copied an image into "res/background.jpg" and tried to load it using Bitmap.getBitmapResource on background.jpg. Unfortunately, the image wasn't found (Illegal argument exception). I tried moving my image file into the src folder as per the advice here, but that didn't work either. I have opened up the .jar file and the background image is present at the root of the .jar file. The option to convert image files to .png isn't selected either.
