I need help with my site http://VelvetArt.net. I can´t logout, post a comment, and when i put index.php after site adress, is does not work too, it just displays white screen. I have this theme also on my test site http://velvetart.lnb.sk. All working here, logout, index, comments.. • ASP.net drop down dynamically styling and then remembering the styles on aborted submit

    - by peacedog
So, I've got an ASP drop down list (this is .net 2.0). I'm binding it with data. Basically, when the page loads and it's not a post back we'll fetch record data, bind all the drop downs, and set them to their appropriate values (strictly speaking we: initialize page with basic set of data from DB, bind drop downs from DB, fetch actual record data from DB, set drown downs to appropriate settings at this time). What I want to do is selectively style the list options. So the database returns 3 items: ID, Text, and a flag indicating whether I the record is "active" (and I'll style appropriately). It's easy enough to do and I've done it. My problem is what happens when a form submission is halted. We have slightly extended the Page class and created an AddError() method, which will create a list of errors from failed business rule checks and then display them in a ValidationSummary. It works something like this, in the submit button's click event: CheckBizRules(); if(Page.IsValid) { SaveData(); } If any business rule check fails, the Page will not be valid. The problem is, when the page re-renders (viewsate is enabled, but no data is rebound) my beautiful conditional styling is now sadly gone, off to live in the land of the missing socks. I need to preserve it. I was hoping to avoid another DB call here (e.g. getting the list data back from the DB again if the page isn't valid, just for purposes of re-styling the list). But it's not the end of the world if that's my course of action. I was hoping someone might have an alternative suggestion. I couldn't think of how to phrase this question better, if anyone has any suggestions or needs clarification don't hesitate to get it, by force if need be. ;)

Thanks so much. .con{ padding-left: 22px; padding-right: 22px; overflow: hidden; } .col{ position: relative; float: left; } .west{ width: 7px; right: 22px; margin-left: -100%; background: url(http://www.example.com/west.png) repeat-y; padding: 0 0 0 15; } .east{ width: 7px; margin-right: -22px; background: url(http://www.example.com/east.png) repeat-y; padding: 0 15 0 0; } .center{ width: 100%; } <div class="con"> <div class="center col"> Test Text<br/> Test Text<br/> Test Text<br/> Test Text<br/> </div> <div class="west col"> </div> <div class="east col"> </div> </div>

  • How can i have a div stuck on the left side of the page no matter how much i scroll horizontally?

    - by Noor
This is kind of difficult to explain so ill link to a page that has the effect i need; http://wpaoli.building58.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/feedback-panel.html The feedback thing on the left side is what im trying to implement on my side, instead of feedback im going to use it as a navigation menu that shows up when clicked on. the things above is what i have right now. my problem is when i scroll to the right ( my page is around 6000px wide ) i want it to stay on the left side, is there a way to pull this off? (this is to much for my brain to handle)..thanks!

  • Jquery class changing works, but doesn't effect another function like it should

    - by Qwibble
So I have content boxes that close and expand when you click an arrow. The content box has two classes for telling whether it is open or closed (.box_open, .box_closed). A hover function is assigned to box_open so when it is open and you hover over the header, the arrow appears. However, I don't want this to happen when the box is closed, as I want to arrow to remain visible when the box is closed. When the box closes, the box_open class is removed, but the function assigned to that class still works. Here's the jquery code for the two functions. You can also see them in the head of the demo below. // Display Arrow on Box Header Hover $(".box_open").hover( function () { $(this).find('a').show(); }, function () { $(this).find('a').hide(); } ); // Open and Close Boxes: $(".box_header a").click( function () { $(this).parent().next('.box_border').stop().toggle(); $(this).parent().toggleClass("box_open"); $(this).parent().toggleClass("box_closed"); return false; } ); Can anyone take a look at what the problem is? Here's the demo url: Demo Url

  • HTML: Menus as UL instead of DIVs?

    - by JamesBrownIsDead
I recently created a menu for a web page where buttons are DIV elements. I've been Googling around and see that many people create UL lists and each button is a LI element. What benefit is using an UL and LIs instead of just DIVs? Is it somehow better for SEO? Does this have to do with "semantic" markup? Any compelling reason to rewrite my menu as a UL?

  • Increase width of divs, displayed side by side, using draggable events

    - by Vaibhav Shukla
I have two divs of fixed length as of now, which loads external URL by dynamically embedding iframes inside them. Divs are appearing next to each other - one on left and other right. As of now, I have fixed their width to 50% each. But, I want to give user a flexibility to increase the width of any div to view the URL inside easily without scrolling horizontally. Something like dragging the border separating the two divs to either left or right according to his need. Is there a way I could achieve this? Please suggest any library or something. I have gone through a library twentytwenty which is used for images. I don't know how will that work for dynamic iframes. Here is the JSFiddle which displays the divs. <div> <div id="originalPage" style="width:54%;height: 730px;float:left"> <p>one div </p> </div> <div id="diffReport" style="width:45%; height: 730px;float:right"> <p>another div</p> </div> </div>

    - by acidzombie24

I tried a number of things and the example linked above is my closest result. How do i make the 3rd link share the same line and a block so the resut of the line is clickable? I tried float left and that does not allow the third link to take up remaining space.

  • Website in right-to-left languages (Arabic, Hebrew)

    - by jack
I currently developing a multi-language interface for a Django project. But when I started to work on Arabic and Hebrew languages, I noticed all pages messed up after dir="rtl" to html tag (according to instructions on http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/bidi-xhtml/) Does that mean I need separate stylesheets for right-to-left languages?

  • Indent text left and right

    - by Elliott
I am using the p tag to align text left and right on the same line using: .left { float: left; text-indent: 5px; margin-top: 0px; } .right { float: right; text-indent: 5px; margin-top: 0px; } <div id="content"> <p class="left">Left Text </p> <p class="right">Right Text </p> </div> The left text will indent by 5 pixels, the right text will not. I have tried -5px and just 5px, any ideas how I could do this? Thanks

  • Display image background fully for last repeat in a div

    - by Stiggler
I have a 700x300 background repeating seamlessly under the main content-div. Now I'd like to attach a div at the bottom of the content-div, containing a continuation-to-end of the background image, connecting seamlessly with the background above it. Due to the nature of the pattern, unless the full 300px height of the background image is visible in the last repeat of the content-div's backround, the background in the div below won't seamlessly connect. Basically, I need the content div's height to be a multiple of 300px under all circumstances. What's a good approach to this sort of problem? I've tried resizing the content-div on loading the page, but this only works as long as the content div doesn't contain any resizing, dynamic content, which is not my case: function adjustContentHeight() { // Setting content div's height to nearest upper multiple of column backgrounds height, // forcing it not to be cut-off when repeated. var contentBgHeight = 300; var contentHeight = $("#content").height(); var adjustedHeight = Math.ceil(contentHeight / contentBgHeight); $("#content").height(adjustedHeight * contentBgHeight); } $(document).ready(adjustContentHeight); What I'm looking for there is a way to respond to a div resizing event, but there doesn't seem to be such a thing. Also, please assume I have no access to the JS controlling the resizing of content in the content-div, though this is potentially a way of solving the problem. Another potential solution I was thinking off was to offset the background image in the bottom div by a certain amount depending on the height of the content-div. Again, the missing piece seems to be the ability to respond to a resize event.

  • Overriding !important style using Javascript

    - by Enrico
Title pretty much sums it up. The external style sheet has the following code: td.EvenRow a{ display: none !important; } I have tried using: element.style.display = "inline"; and element.style.display = "inline !important"; but neither works. Is it possible to override an !important style using javascript. This is for a greasemonkey extension, if that makes a difference. Much appreciated, Enrico

  • scriptaculous drop down menu not working in IE

    - by Gary
I'm using the dropdown menu from http://www.wappler.eu/swdropdownmenu/ and it works fine in all browsers except IE.. the demo on the website works in IE, and the only thing i've changed is the styling.. mine is at http://www.futureworkinstitute.com/2010/ - at first i thought it might have been a conflict between scriptaculous/prototype/jquery, but even after removing other JS, it still doesnt work.

  • Cross-Browser CSS3 Rule

    - by Alexander Corotchi
I have a stupid question, If I want to add round corner for an element in browsers which support some stuff of CSS3, I have to repeat style several time for each browser, because it is different ? For ex : -moz-border-radius: 12px; /* FF1+ */ -webkit-border-radius: 12px; /* Saf3+, Chrome */ border-radius: 12px; /* Opera 10.5, IE 9 */ It means, that I have to add 3 styles for this radius border, doesn't it ?
