    We have a WPF app that allows our users to download encrypted content and we want to provide the ability to decrypt this content off-line. The idea is to download the keys and store them using the DPAPI but I'm having trouble with the entropy parameter. Is there any way to generate an entropy to consistently use for the DPAPI functions with out hardcoding/storing them? Thanks Tony

Is there a magical way of doing this with Perl, or am I doomed to using a loop? If so, what is the most efficient way to do this?     Hello I have a mysql database table to store country name and currency symbol - the CHARSET has correctly set to UTF8. This is example data inserted into the table insert into country ( country_name, currency_name, currency_code, currency_symbol) values ('UK','Pounds','GBP','£'); When I look in the database - the pound symbol appears fine - but when I retrieve it from the database and display it on the website - a weird square symbol shows up with a question mark inside instead of the pound symbol.     Hey, I'm using OpenJPA as a JPA provider. Is there a way in which I can recreate the database tables (When an entity changes) without dropping the entire data?     Hi this seems like it should work, from something in collectionofsomestuff select new SelectListItem(){Text = Name, Value = SomeGuid.ToString(), Selected = false}; When I try to do this it doesn't work give me error LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'System.String ToString()' method, and this method cannot be translated into a store expression. Is there a workaround?

  • Get Auto Increment value with MySQL query

    I currently have a database with over 6 million rows and growing. I currently do SELECT COUNT(id) FROM table; in order to display the number to my users, but the database is getting large and I have no need to store all of those rows except to be able to show the number. Is there a way to select the auto_increment value to display so that I can clear out most of the rows in the database? Using LAST_INSERT_ID() doesn't seem to work.
