  I am looking for the equivalent of running "File - Save All" before certain Rake macros. What I have so far is: Private Sub Pre_Rake() Dim i As Integer DTE.Documents.SaveAll() For i = 1 To DTE.Solution.Projects.Count If Not DTE.Solution.Projects.Item(i).Saved Then DTE.Solution.Projects.Item(i).Save() End If Next End Sub DTE.Documents.SaveAll works fine, but the for loop does not save the project files as I would expect. If I make a copy of a file in the solution explorer, that file is not included in the project file (.CSPROJ) after Pre_Rake() runs. I would still have to press CTRL-SHIFT-S or File - Save All. So, how to Save All with a Visual Studio Macro?

  I have a datagrid that is populated via XML file when the form loads. Everything is working great but I would like the datagrid to update dynamically when a new order is received (Separate class receives a data stream and updates the file). Im looking for suggestions on how this should be done. (ie using a timer update every second, or monitor the file using FileSystemWatcher.. etc) Since where here, I might as well mention that in order to update the datagrid Im clearing the whole data set and Re-reading the file using: DataSet.Clear(); DataSet.ReadXml("file.xml"); dataGridView1.DataSource = DataSet; if this is not the proper approach, please offer any alternate suggestions.

The server takes all the submitted data, generates file and sends it back to the requested user. So I want to show a progress bar to the user till the file comes to the him. Is there any way to do this ? I am using java, jquery and javascript in my application.

  I have an include file with 100+ global variables. It's being used in a library, but some programs that I'm linking the lib to also need to access the globals. The way it was built: // In one library .c file #define Extern // In the programs that use the globals #define Extern extern // In the .h file Extern int a,b,c; I had a hard time understanding why the original programmer did that so I removed that define Extern stuff. Now I think I understand the thing about TU with the help of stackoverflow: 1, 2, 3. Now I understand that I should define the global variables in one .c file in the library and use extern in the .h file. The problem is that I don't want to duplicate code. Should I go back to that #define Extern voodoo?

  Is there a way to get a file's mimetype in Flex SDK 3.5 without using its extension? I need to validate if an uploaded file is of a certain kind. This is for images, or documents (PDF, ODT, etc.) All the solutions I've found are by checking its extension. What if I rename a .odt file as a .jpg? Then I can upload it as an image... I should add, we are using an AIR desktop client and a Java EE server. File checking is solved on the Java side, but the idea is not to go to the server, validate the file so if it's not valid, there's no network traffic at all.

• Rails - Permission denied when try to save uploaded file in windows

  I'm writing my own file upload in rails. I saw some related questions but it doesn't answer my question. I use File.open ("#{RAILS_ROOT}/public/docs/attachments/#{@file_name}", "wb") {|f| f.write(@temp_file.read)} to write the file on my local machine (OS: Windows XP) instead of saving it in database. I got a Permission denied error on the File.open method. Since I have cygwin installed, I chmod 777 the folder that files should write to and also make sure the file I upload can be read. But I'm still getting the same error. Any ideas? Thanks!

  I'd like to know what is the size limitation if I upload list of files in one client's form submition using HTTP multipart content type. On the server side I am using Spring's MultipartHttpServletRequest to handle the request. mM questions: Is there should be different file size limitation and total request size limitation or file size is the only limitation and the request is capable of uploading 100s of files as lonng as they are not too large. Doest the Spring request wrapper read the complete request and store it in the JAVA heap memory or it store temporaray files of it to be able to use big quota. Is the use of reading the httpservlet request in streaming would change the size limitation than using complete http request read at-once by the application server. What is the bottleneck of this process - Java heap size, the quota of the filesystem on which my web-server runs, the maximum allowed BLOB size that the DataBase in which I am gonna save the file alows? or Spring internal limitations?   HI, I am trying to retrive the filname of the image file from a file path in my code. My filepath: c:\mydocuments\pictures\image.jpg which method can i use in c# to get he filename of the above mentioned path. Like String file = image.jpg I have used the system.drawing to get he path, but it returns null. my code: string file = System.drawing.image.fromfile(filepath,true); Is this the right way to get the image file name or is there any other inbuilt method in c#. • Make errors - can the gcc compiler warnings prevent a C file from being compiled into an object file

  I'm trying to compile a wireless network card driver for my Linux box and I ran into a problem with the Make command. During the compilation process I normally see warnings on some of the C files that being are compiled; despite the warnings these files were still able to be compiled to an object file. When the Make process comes to a file called rtmp_wext.c however, the compiler generates a large number of warnings and then the whole Make process stops and returns an exit status of error 1, i.e. make: *** [rtmp_wext.o] Error 1. Usually I see an error with the C file for compilation to halt. This is the first time where it seems compiler warnings are preventing the file from being turned into an object file; is this possible or is something else the cause for the unsuccessful compilation?

  Hi all, I am working in a desktop application using java. In my application i have to perform a speed test which will show the file uploading and downloading speed. For uploading test i am uploading a small test file to a FTP server and based on time taken i am calculating the file upload speed. similarly i am downloading a test file form server and calculating download speed. But result i am getting doesn't match with actual FTP file uploading and downloading speed.it seems that the establishing connection to FTP server is increasing the time, hence the resultant speed i am calculating is less. Could you suggest any link or some way to get nearest uploading and downloading speed. i thanks to all your valuable suggestion.

  A friend and I are thinking about creating a simple file system for learning purposes. We're going to write it in C/C++, and try to get it to a mountable state from within linux. We've both been coding or over 16 years (32 combined), so I suppose its just a matter of finding some documentation, and a ton of learning. My question is, where could I find out more information? (Documentation for creating a file system, requirements of mounting a file system in linux, etc) Where do we start? Edit: I should also mention, this would not be a boot-able file system, just a file system used for storage, though I am not too sure if that matters or not.

• How to access a XML file in a maven project so it stays available when packaged

  I currently started working on a maven web-app project that needs to be launched with the jetty:run-exploded goal for development/debugging in eclipse. Now, I have an XML file which contents I need to access at runtime. My problem is: where to put the file so that the code that does the reading works both in "exploded" and packaged (i.e. in the WAR) mode? Putting the file in src/main/java (so as to be in the classpath) won't cut it since maven filters out all non-java files on packaging. When the file is in src/main/resources, one mean would be to figure out the root path of the project (during eclipse development) and look into that directory - but this won't be the case anymore when the project will be packaged. Of course I could go into writing code that tries to read the file from both locations, but this seems rather cumbersome. Any suggestions?

  Alright this seems like a stupid question but I can't figure it out. I'm writing an XSLT file to translate an XML document into an XHTML document. I've used both Visual Studio and XML Notepad 2007 to preview the results of my XSLT file, but now I want to actually write out a real XHTML file so I can see how it looks in other browsers. Neither Visual Studio or XML NotePad have an obvious way to save the preview. Am I missing something. Obviously the file is getting created because something is being previewed, but I need to know where that file is being created or better yet choose its location.

  I'm trying to call JDIC from my application, but I can't get it to run. What files do I need and where? From what I've been able to gather from their site, I basically need to put jdic.jar in classpath... however there is also a lib folder with jdic.jar with a bit different size, and jdic_native_applet.jar, jdic_stub_unix.jar, jdic_stub_windows.jar and several folders with what I gather are platform specific files. I get this exception when instantiating AssociationService: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.jdesktop.jdic.filetypes.internal.AppAssociationReaderFactory_windows at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:200) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) at org.jdesktop.jdic.filetypes.AssociationService.<init>(Unknown Source) at QuickTest.main(QuickTest.java:101) I've tried last "official" release and last alpha release. I'm running Java 6 and Win7 64bit. Does JDIC even work under Win7 (or 64bit, although I use 32bit Java)? I see no release after 2006, and no activity in the project after about 2008... while Win7 came in 2009. I know that parts of JDIC, like Desktop, were included in Java 6, however that doesn't seem to be the case with file associations. And if it doesn't, are there any (hopefully cross-platform) alternatives for managing file associations? There are some things for Windows only that I tried, but that requires running native commands with administrator privileges which I don't know how to pull, apart from asking user to run my app as administrator and then use Runtime.exec()... If there are no alternatives to JDIC, I'm interested if anyone has managed to handle file associations well with cross-platform installers?

OnResusme is called instead. The thing is I am actually looping through 12 or so files and there's two types, "ECMQA 2012Q1.xls" (or ECMQB 2012Q2.xls and so on) AND "ECM Annual Budget 2012.xlsx" If my file is the annual one (If file contains "Annual"), then I want: BD.Sheets("Sheet1").Range("C2").value = "2012" And i want it to read this from the actual file, same as the other one...not me putting in "2012" Is there a way to do this? Using javascript/jQuery I am currently loading in an XML file that has a file name such as carousel_large_2010-06-08.xml.. the way I am doing it is checked for todays date then grabbing a file that has that date in the filename... the issue is sometimes they wont be uploading a new file for a given day so it needs to fallback to a older date that exists.. Wondering how to do it? • Core Data and iTunes File Sharing - Move/hide the .sqlite file on app update?

  I have an iPad app that uses Core Data for data storage. I would like to enable file sharing in iTunes and I don't really want the users to be able to delete or modify the .sqlite file. Can I move the file to a different, hidden directory? Alternatively, could the file be made read-only? I wouldn't mind users having access to the file as long as it couldn't be changed. I suspect there is a trivial solution that is escaping me at the moment.
