mootools element is null using calendar EightySix plugin

CSS div/overflow Question: Why does the first HTML file work but not the second?

Notice how the first HTML/CSS works when you re-size the browser horizontally. It will shrink no further than around 800 pixels, but it will expand as far as you drag the right edge of the browser. It will also correctly overflow the table at the top and scroll it horizontally. The thing I don't like about the first code snippet is where the scrollbar is. I want it to show up within the borders of the fieldset, so even if I narrow the browser down to 800 pixels wide, I can see both the left and right sides of the fieldset's border. The second code snippet is exactly the same as the first except I add another div tag to the mix, inside of the field set and around the grid. Notice how the top fieldset's width won't correctly shrink when you make the viewport of your browser narrower. Any ideas on why it doesn't work, what I can do to get it to work like the first code snippet? I don't think I'm describing this clearly, but if you run the two side by side, and expand and contract the horizontal edge of your browser windows, you'll see the differences between the two. I'm pretty new to CSS and HTML layout, so my understanding of why CSS handles sizing the way it does in some situations is still really confusing to me. ASP.NET MVC2: Client-side validation not working with Start.js

Ok, this is strange. I would hope it's something I'm doing wrong and not that MS has two technologies that simply don't work together. (UPDATE: See bottom of post for Script tag order in HEAD section) I'm trying to use the dataView template and client-side validation. Submitting a multidimensional array via POST with php

I have a php form that has a known number of columns (ex. top diameter, bottom diameter, fabric, colour, quantity), but has an unknown number of rows, as users can add rows as they need. I've discovered how to take each of the fields(columns) and place them into an array of their own. <input name="topdiameter['+current+']" type="text" id="topdiameter'+current+'" size="5" /> <input name="bottomdiameter['+current+']" type="text" id="bottomdiameter'+current+'" size="5" /> So what I end up with in the HTML is: <tr> <td><input name="topdiameter[0]" type="text" id="topdiameter0" size="5" /></td> <td><input name="bottomdiameter[0]" type="text" id="bottomdiameter0" size="5" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td><input name="topdiameter[1]" type="text" id="topdiameter0" size="5" /></td> <td><input name="bottomdiameter[1]" type="text" id="bottomdiameter0" size="5" /></td> </tr> ...and so on. What I would like to do now is take all the rows and columns put them into a multidimensional array and email the contents of that to the client (preferably in a nicely formatted table). I haven't been able to really comprehend how to combine all those inputs and selects into a nice array. At this point, I'm going to have to try to use several 1D arrays, although I have the idea that using a single 2D array would be a better practice than using several 1D arrays.

Hi, I've just stumbled upon this: within a Unity container, I want to register IDictionary<TK, TV>; assume that it's IDictionary<string, int> _unityContainer = new UnityContainer() .RegisterType<IDictionary<string, int>, Dictionary<string, int>>(); but if I try var d = _unityContainer.Resolve<IDictionary<string, int>>(); it fails to resolve... I get... Microsoft.Practices.Unity.ResolutionFailedException: Microsoft.Practices.Unity.ResolutionFailedException: Resolution of the dependency failed, type = "System.Collections.Generic.IDictionary`2[System.String,System.Int32]", name = "(none)". Exception occurred while: while resolving. Exception is: InvalidOperationException - The type Dictionary`2 has multiple constructors of length 2. Unable to disambiguate. At the time of the exception, the container was: Resolving System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary2[System.String,System.Int32],(none) (mapped from System.Collections.Generic.IDictionary2[System.String,System.Int32], (none)) --- System.InvalidOperationException: The type Dictionary`2 has multiple constructors of length 2. Unable to disambiguate.. So it looks like it has found the Type to resolve (being Dictionary<string, int>) but failed to new it up... How come unity can't resolve this type? If I type IDictionary<string, int> d = new Dictionary<string, int>() that works... any ideas? thanks!

MSBuild fails, but building inside Visual Studio works fine

C#, .NET 2.0 I have an ASP.NET website in a solution, with 2 other projects (used as library references). When I build (debug or release) in Visual Studio, everything works fine. However, building with MSBuild fails. This build had been working (it's actually invoked via a nAnt task). The only thing that has changed is that I have a new user control whose Type I am referencing in my code behind. The offending code is in my ASPX code behind. MessageAlert is the UserControl: MessageAlert userControl = this.LoadControl("~/UserControls/MessageAlert.ascx") as MessageAlert; userControl.UserMessage = message; this.UserMessages.Controls.Add(userControl); In order to get Visual Studio to recognize the type 'MessageAlert' I had to: 1) Set the ClassName="MessageAlert" in the @Control markup at the top of the user control (because using the auto-generated UserControls_MessageAlert wasn't working either) 2) Register the user control in the markup of my ASPX, using an @Register 3) Add a "using ASP" to the top of my code behind After those steps, I could successfully reference the MessageAlert type in my codebehind from visual studio. But from MSBuild I get "The type or namespace name 'MessageAlert' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) " The MSBuild execution is very simple - it points the the very same solution file and sets the configuration property to release. It seems, based on the # of steps I had to go through to get Type references to MessageAlert in Visual Studio, that there is something missing in the MSBuild process. But what? Doesn't Visual Studio in fact invoke MSBuild behind the scenes? Is there a better way to reference a UserControl type in the code behind of an ASPX? EDIT: To clarify, the MessageAlert user control is not in the other referenced assemblies/projects. I mentioned them because, together with the website, the compose the Solution file, which is the same sln file being built by MS Build.

jQuery UI - addClass removeClass - CSS values are stuck

Hi, I'm trying to do a simple animation. You show the div. It animates correctly. You hide the div. Correct. You show the div again. It shows but there is no animation. It is stuck at the value of when you first interrupted it. So somehow the interpolation CSS that is happening during [add|remove]Class is getting stuck there. The second time around, the [add|remove]Class is actually running, but the css it's setting from the class is getting ignored (I think being overshadowed). How can I fix this WITHOUT resorting to .animate and hard-coded style values? The whole point was to put the animation end point in a css class. jQuery to populate form fields based on first entered value where number of fields is unknown

Greetings, I have a form with a variable number of inputs, a simplified version of which looks like this: <form> <label for="same">all the same as first?</label> <input id="same" name="same" type="checkbox" /> <input type="text" id="foo[1]" name="foo[1]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[2]" name="foo[2]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[3]" name="foo[3]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[4]" name="foo[4]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[5]" name="foo[5]" value="" /> </form> The idea is to tick the #same checkbox and have jQuery copy the value from #foo[1] into #foo[2], #foo[3], etc. They also need to clear if #same is unchecked. There can be any number of #foo inputs, based upon input from a previous stage of the form, and this bit is giving me trouble. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I can't get any variation on $('#dest').val($('#source').val()); to work. Help!

However, when I pass an object to the value property for 'Element' I get this error: Class ClassName has no such attribute: text in template context [Article article/element elseif(it.is_type2)_subtemplate article/type2] So - my question is, how do i access the properties/fields of an object, within an object using StringTemplate?

JQuery .submit function will not submit form in IE

I have a form that submits some values to JQuery code,which then which sends off an email with the values from the form.It works perfectly in Firefox, but does not work in IE6(surprise!) or IE7. Has anyone any suggestions why? greatly appreciated?I saw on some blogs that it may have something to do with the submit button in my form but nothing Ive tried seems to work. WSE 3.0 crashes when ClearHeaders is called

Hi! I'm developing a client-server application in c# using WSE web-service. One of the things that the user can do is send jpg images to the server for backup via the web-service. Recently strange errors have occurred. This does not happen for all users, just a few. Greetings, I have a form with a variable number of inputs, a simplified version of which looks like this: <form> <label for="same">all the same as first?</label> <input id="same" name="same" type="checkbox" /> <input type="text" id="foo[1]" name="foo[1]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[2]" name="foo[2]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[3]" name="foo[3]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[4]" name="foo[4]" value="" /> <input type="text" id="foo[5]" name="foo[5]" value="" /> </form> The idea is to tick the #same checkbox and have jQuery copy the value from #foo[1] into #foo[2], #foo[3], etc. They also need to clear if #same is unchecked. There can be any number of #foo inputs, based upon input from a previous stage of the form, and this bit is giving me trouble. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I can't get any variation on $('#dest').val($('#source').val()); to work. Help!

In JQGrid I want to add a row button that doesnt post back.

The buttons I have added to the rows still post back even if I specifiy not to do so in the onclick method of the button (onclick=' return false;'). I supose its the grid doing the post back? cleaning up noise in an edge detection algoritum

I recently wrote an extremely basic edge detection algorithm that works on an array of chars. The program was meant to detect the edges of blobs of a single particular value on the array and worked by simply looking left, right, up and down on the array element and checking if one of those values is not the same as the value it was currently looking at. The goal was not to produce a mathematical line but rather a set of ordered points that represented a descritized closed loop edge. The algorithm works perfectly fine, except that my data contained a bit of noise hence would randomly produce edges where there should be no edges. This in turn wreaked havoc on some of my other programs down the line. There is two types of noise that the data contains. The first type is fairly sparse and somewhat random. The second type is a semi continuous straight line on the x=y axis. I know the source of the first type of noise, its a feature of the data and there is nothing i can do about it. As for the second type, i know it's my program's fault for causing it...though i haven't a hot clue exactly what is causing it. My question is: How should I go about removing the noise completely? I know that the correct data has points that are always beside each other and is very compact and ordered (with no gaps) and is a closed loop or multiple loops. The first type of noise is usually sparse and random, that could be easily taken care of by checking if any edges is next that noise point is also counted as an edge. If not, then the point is most defiantly noise and should be removed. However, the second type of noise, where we have a semi continuous line about x=y poses more of a problem. The line is sometimes continuous for random lengths (the longest was it went half way across my entire array unbroken). It is even possible for it to intersect the actual edge. Any ideas on how to do this?

Parsec: backtracking not working

I am trying to parse F# type syntax. I started writing an [F]Parsec grammar and ran into problems, so I simplified the grammar down to this: type ::= identifier | type -> type identifier ::= [A-Za-z0-9.`]+ After running into problems with FParsec, I switched to Parsec, since I have a full chapter of a book dedicated to explaining it. My code for this grammar is typeP = choice [identP, arrowP] identP = do id <- many1 (digit <|> letter <|> char '.' <|> char '`') -- more complicated code here later return id arrowP = do domain <- typeP string "->" range <- typeP return $ "("++domain++" -> "++range++")" run = parse (do t <- typeP eof return t) "F# type syntax" The problem is that Parsec doesn't backtrack by default, so > run "int" Right "int" -- works! > run "int->int" Left "F# type syntax" unexpected "-" expecting digit, letter, ".", "`" or end of input -- doesn't work! The first thing I tried was to reorder typeP: typeP = choice [arrowP, identP] But this just stack overflows because the grammar is left-recursive--typeP never gets to trying identP because it keeps trying arrowP over and over. Next I tried try in various places, for example: typeP = choice [try identP, arrowP] But nothing I do seems to change the basic behaviours of (1) stack overflow or (2) non-recognition of "-" following an identifier. My mistake is probably obvious to anybody who has successfully written a Parsec grammar. Can somebody point it out?

Using jQuery, setting Draggable on an element prevents blur from firing when you click the draggable

Using jQuery, when you set a blur event on a text box and set another element as draggable, when you click the draggable element, the blur event does not fire in FireFox. IE is a little better, you get the blur event but you don't get the click event on the draggable element.
