  I have Chrome associated with .xlsx file on windows 8.1 machine In Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations it is not possible to remove association only to change it to another program. In Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Default Programs\Set Program Associations , .xlsx is not present in Chrome. I removed all keys from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.xlsx Still Chrome remains associated with that extension in Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations, Windows Explorer shows the Chrome icon with the .xlsx file.

  I need help with my browsers. In Windows 7 Basic I have 2 browsers installed: Internet Explorer 8 and Google Chrome. When I try to open pages which are associated with Microsoft (like Live and others), my browser crashes; Internet Explorer 8 crashes too. But Opera (I've installed it later) works fine with those pages. P.S. I tried to scan my PC for trojans and viruses, but it's clean.

  It seems CMD does not have it's own jumplist.Has someone created one already?   I am trying to customize the way image folders appear in Win7 explorer, but I can't seem to get it under control. Is there a way to force it to always pick the first image in the folder as the preview image? Explorer has perfectly fine natural sort order. I don't understand why it messes it up by picking semi-random images. Thanks!

I've tried changing the shortcut in Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Windows Explorer to %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe "C:\My Folder\", in case Win-E references this shortcut, but that did not help.   I've provided an image to show the issue that im currently having. So basically the libraries work fine on windows explorer works fine, but trying to access from a browser, to upload file for example, the libraries just don't work they seem to be empty. Looking at the image, the window on the left is from the chrome browser and the windows on the right is from windows explorer.   We are setting up a new proxy based on squid on an ubuntu server, and would like to have pass through authentication work for the Windows/Internet Explorer client. We have put the line into the squid.conf for squid_ldap_auth, but this prompts for a username and password in internet explorer. It does work ok once the user puts it in.   I followed the steps here to set up Sharepoint integration with reporting services (SSRS) using native mode. (i.e., get a report explorer and viewer web parts) However after adding the cabinet file e.g., STSADM.EXE -o addwppack -filename "C:\ Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Tools\Reporting Services\SharePoint\RSWebParts.cab" -globalinstall I still don't see report explorer in the web parts list. I'm very stuck and confused :-(

  In Excel 2007, when I click a hyperlink, it opens in IE. I'm running XP Professional SP3. Firefox is set as my default browser. Links in Word and Outlook open in Firefox.   I'd like to know whether there is any piece of software that will allow the browsing/searching of SQL Server transaction logs (any version). We've previously used Lumigent Log Explorer against SQL Server 2000 which fulfilled our need, but the product no longer exists and Lumigent's closest replacement doesn't appear to support SQL 2008 (according to the data sheet). I've discovered something called ApexSQL Audit which may fit the bill, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of it, how it compares with Log Explorer, and whether there are any good alternatives out there.   So recently I did a very stupid thing and accidentally deleted my APPDATA (LOL yes), and now the favorite folder doesn't work anymore. The favorite folder I am refering to is the one in windows explorer (not the horrid IE) in windows 7, which appears on the left of windows explorer windows. The %USERPROFILE%/Favorite folder still works correctly, but the favorite folder in the shell doesn't point there, instead it points to a nonexistant and broken location, how do i fix this problem?

This is what I see if it's pinned But if it's unpinned I see the current icon.   I've just installed an SSD as primary boot drive. During install, a system reserved partition was allocated (not very big) around 100MB. Problem is the drive is visible in explorer and its assigned to D: Anyone else had this problem, and is there a way to somehow hide that drive from explorer, and also get back the drive letter assignment? I see all around searching on the web - in articles from 2008 and 2009 - that they were adding Silverlight support in WinMo 6.1, for example: Internet Explorer Mobile The new version of Internet Explorer Mobile adds the ability to easily view full-screen Web pages and multimedia on the Web with a smartphone. Microsoft's press release states the new version takes advantage of "Internet Explorer 6 technologies" and supports industry standards such as H.264, Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight. The update will be available to mobile phone partners in the third quarter of 2008, with the first Windows Mobile phones using the new version expected to be available by the end of 2008. But I have found an SL app supposedly geared for mobile devices (as much as I hate weatherbug), but when i try going there in PIE on my WinMo 6.1 device, it shows me the little "get silverlight" image button, but clicking it doesn't do anything. So, what is the story? Is SL/WinMo development possible, or ?
