  • What's a good library for parsing mathematical expressions in java?

    I'm an Android Developer and as part of my next app I will need to evaluate a large variety of user created mathematical expressions and equations. I am looking for a good java library that is lightweight and can evaluate mathematical expressions using user defined variables and constants, trig and exponential functions, etc. I've looked around and Jep seems to be popular, but I would like to hear more suggestions, especially from people who have used these libraries before.

  • Linked List Design

    The other day in a local .NET group I attend the following question came up: "Is it a valid interview question to ask about Linked Lists when hiring someone for a .NET development position?" Not having a computer sciense degree and being a self taught developer my response was that I did not feel it was appropriate as I in 5 years of developer with .NET had never been exposed to linked lists and did not hear any compeling reason for a use for one. However the person commented that it is a very common interview question so I decided when I left that I would do some reasearch on linked lists and see what I might be missing. I have read a number of posts on stack overflow and various google searches and decided the best way to learn about them was to write my own .NET classes to see how they worked from the inside out. Here is my class structure Single Linked List Constructor public SingleLinkedList(object value) Public Properties public bool IsTail public bool IsHead public object Value public int Index public int Count private fields not exposed to a property private SingleNode firstNode; private SingleNode lastNode; private SingleNode currentNode; Methods public void MoveToFirst() public void MoveToLast() public void Next() public void MoveTo(int index) public void Add(object value) public void InsertAt(int index, object value) public void Remove(object value) public void RemoveAt(int index) Questions I have: What are typical methods you would expect in a linked list? What is typical behaviour when adding new records? For example if I have 4 nodes and I am currently positioned in the second node and perform Add() should it be added after or before the current node? Or should it be added to the end of the list? Some of the designs I have seen explaining things seem to expose outside of the LinkedList class the Node object. In my design you simply add, get, remove values and know nothing about any node object. Should the Head and Tail be placeholder objects that are only used to define the head/tail of the list? I require my Linked List be instantiated with a value which creates the first node of the list which is essentially the head and tail of the list. Would you change that ? What should the rules be when it comes to removing nodes. Should someone be able to remove all nodes?   • DDK/WDM developing problem ... driver won't load on x64 windows platform

    Hi there! I am a beginner at DDK/WDM driver developing field. I have a task which involves porting a virtual device driver from x86 to x64 (intel). I got the source code, I modified it a bit and compiled it succesfuly with DDK (build environments). But when I tried to load it on a ia64 Windows7 machine it didn't want to load. Then I tried some simple examples of device drivers from --http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/driverdev.aspx (I put '--' to be able to post the hyperlink) and from other links but still the same problem. I hear on a forum that some libraries that you use to link are not compatible with the new machines and suggested to link to another similar libraries...but still didn't worked. When I build I use "-cefw" command line parameters as suggested. I do not have an *.inf file asociated but I'm copying it in system32/drivers and I'm using WinObj to see if next restart it's loaded into the memory. I also tried this program ( http://www.codeproject.com/KB/system/tdriver.aspx ) to load the driver into the memory but still didn't worked for me. Please please help me...I'm stuck on this and my deadline already passed. I feel I'driving nuts in here trying to discover what am I doing wrong.

Many sources suggest to specify: android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation" But should not it be: android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation|screenLayout"

A can use both perfectly at home, but at the company behind the proxy, i can put them working, even when running the same examples.     Say I have this url: http://site.example/dir/ In this folder I have these files: test.ascx.cs and test.ascx Just to be clear, I am not a .NET developer. From a security point of view - why can't I access http://site.example/dir/test.ascx.cs and how secure is it to keep those files there? I assume IIS filters out request that query these kind of files, but can someone explain me this? Thank you.

  • Compiling and linking libcurl to create a stand alone dll

    Hi, I've managed to compile a dll with the necessary linked libraries (*.lib) and with CURL_STATICLIB set in the preprocessor section among other settings. I'm using "libcurl-7.19.3-win32-ssl-msvc.zip" package and compiling with VS 2008 express. This has been the first version I managed to get compiled properly with no link issues etc. The problem I have now is that my dll needs libcurl.dll to function and this is not ok. My dll needs to be independent. I have no idea how to implement this. I've taken all day just to get what I've got compiled. I've got runtime library set to Multi threaded dll (debug/release) respectively under C/C++ - code generation. I've a number of preprocessor set - CURL_STATICLIB being one of them. Configuration Type is set to Dynamic Library Use of MFC is set to Use MFC in a static library Additional Library Directories is set to the lib folders (debug/release) respectively. I've noticed there is a curllib_static.lib file which I've tried instead of curllib.lib as an additional dependency but it only compiles with the later. This is driving me nuts! So I guess I need some guidance as to how to make my dll completely static so it doesn't have any dependencies. I notice my dll is currently dependent on: CURLLIB.DLL MSVCR90D.DLL As I'm pretty new to C++ it could be a setting I'm missing in VS 2008 but I'm not sure. One person said I should be using a static library with *.a files (libcurl.a) etc but when I do this I get link errors which I haven't been able to resolve. Any guidance here would be much appreciated.

    When I run KitchenSink example project on iPhone emulator everything is OK, but trying to launch for Android emulator produces errors: [ERROR] /Users/lukasz/Android/android-sdk-mac_x86/tools/apkbuilder [ERROR] Failed installing com.appcelerator.kitchensink: pkg: /data/local/tmp/app.apk It happens whatever Androig API I choose (from 1.5 to 2.2 or from APIs 1.5 to APIs 2.2). I am using Titanium Developer 1.2.1, titanium SDK 1.4.1.11 Where is the problem? As far as I can see Android SDKs and platforms work correctly because I can successfully compile Android projects from diffrent IDE (Netbeans).

  • Auto Encryption of web.config connection string

    I want to encrypt the connection string in web.config, the problem is each time a developer changes the connection string in web.config and publishes, it needs to be encrypted every time in the web server. Is there any way that the connection string can encrypted automatically every time someone publishes it? Note :- All of us work on our local machines other than the server. So encryption using local machine key is not an option.
