    Hi, I am implementing the sound recording functionality in my iPad app. I want to prompt the user to attach his headphone with microphone for better performance.For this I need to check that whether the user has connected the headphone with microphone or not. In the AVAudioSession there is a method inputIsAvailable.But this method returns 'Yes' for the inbuilt mic of iPad also.So,please suggest how to detect that whether the headphone with mic is connected to the device or not??

  • How to crop scanned image using C#?

    I have a scanned image of a book page and i need to crop this scan for leaving only page area. I tried to use AForge to detect page borders, but it doesn't work because the space which i need to crop may consist of little "light" areas (due to scanner quality) and edge detector detects borders there. That's why this is bad idea as for me. Could you recommend something? P.S. Please don't tell me to use non-free libraries.

  • Are GUID primary keys bad in theory, or just practice?

    Whenever I design a database I automatically start with an auto-generating GUID primary key for each of my tables (excepting look-up tables) I know I'll never lose sleep over duplicate keys, merging tables, etc. To me it just makes sense philosophically that any given record should be unique across all domains, and that that uniqueness should be represented in a consistent way from table to table. I realize it will never be the most performant option, but putting performance aside, I'd like to know if there are philosophical arguments against this practice?

  • Adding a custom option using an extension in Magento

    I'm creating a custom extension and I would like to add a custom option when a certain item is purchased. For example, when the product "Name Tag" is purchased, the extension would detect that the specific product has been ordered and assign a custom option of "Year" to it. The user does not see this, but the attribute is added and displayed in the admin when viewing the order. Are there any specific listeners our there to accomplish this?

When i try to delete a user who has an vehicle a concurrent Acces Exception is thrown when do not uncomment the "this.owner.removeVehicle(this);" in the preRemove Function of the vehicle. The thing i do not understand is that before i used this inheritance there was only a User class which had all relations: @Entity @Table(name = "Users") public class User implements Serializable { @Id protected String username; @OneToMany(mappedBy = "owner", cascade = {CascadeType.PERSIST, CascadeType.REMOVE}) private List<Vehicle> vehicles; @OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL) @JoinTable(name = "USER_ADDRESS", joinColumns = @JoinColumn(name = "USERNAME") inverseJoinColumns = @JoinColumn(name = "ADDRESS_ID")) ptivate List<Address> addresses; ... No orphanremoval, and the vehicle class has used the uncommented statement above in its preRemove function. And - I could delte a user who has an address and i could delte a user who has a vehicle. So why doesn't everything work without changes when i use inheritance? I use JPA 2.0, EclipseLink 2.0.2, MySQL 5.1.x and Netbeans 6.8

  • Why does C# exit when calling the Ada elaboration routine using debug?

    I have a DLL created in Ada using GPS. I am dynamically loading it and calling it successfully both from Ada and from C++. But when I try to call it from C#, the program exits on the call to Elaboration init. What am I missing? The exact same DLL is perfectly happy getting called from C++ and Ada. Edit: If I start the program without Debugging, it also works with C#. But if I run it with the Debugger, then it exits on the call to ElaborationInit. There are no indications in any of the Windows event logs. It ignores the new files because they are marked as copies of the branch. So when it diffs them against the head of the branch, no differences are found.     I am writing a client - server system in which I used NON-BLOCKING sockets. My problem is to detect error { while performing send() or write() } that may occur while data transfer. Example lets say, while the data is being transferred the peer crashes.
