• Permission forbidden on localhost with apache2

  Here is what I am trying to do. I tried to add another folder to apache and I get the following error when trying to acces testing/index.html. The idea is that I would like to have for every customer a folder like /home/neagoe/Work/InterWebs/Projects/[PROJECT NAME]/CustomerProjects/website/dist. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server.   I have an ExpandableListView in which I'd like to have controls other than TextView. Apparently, SimpleExandableListViewAdapter assumes all the controls are TextViews. A cast exception is generated if they are not. What is the recommended solution? Options I can think of include: - Use some other included adapter. But I can't tell if they all have the same assumption. - Create my own adapter. Is there a doc which describes the contract, ie the sequence of method calls an adapter will encounter? I expected the existing adapters to require the views to conform to some interface to allow any conforming view to be used, rather than hardcode to textview and limit where they can be used.

  I have a huge Collection (which I can cast as an enumerable using OfType<()) of objects. Each of these objects has a Category property, which is drawn from a list somewhere else in the application. This Collection can reach sizes of hundreds of items, but it is possible that only, say, 6/30 of the possible Categories are actually used. What is the fastest method to find these 6 Categories? The size of the huge Collection discourages me from just iterating across the entire thing and returning all unique values, so is there a faster method of accomplishing this? Ideally I'd collect the categories into a List.

• Alternative to c++ static virtual methods

  In C++ is not possible to declare a static virtual function, neither cast a non-static function to a C style function pointer. Now, I have a plain ol' C SDK that uses function pointers heavily. I have to fill a structure with several function pointers. I was planning to use an abstract class with a bunch of static pure virtual methods, and redefine them in derived classes and fill the structure with them. It wasn't until then that I realized that static virtual are not allowed in C++. Is there any good alternative? The best I can think of is defining some pure virtual methods GetFuncA(), GetFuncB(),... and some static members FuncA()/FuncB() in each derived class, which would be returned by the GetFuncX(). Then a function in the abstract class would call those functions to get the pointers and fill the structure.

• APC module causing strange error

I've setup APC multiple times. This is a MediaTemple Dedicated Virtual 4.0 with Plesk 11. Plesk 11 is the only thing essentially different from the other servers I've set this up on. I've verified that pcre-devel is installed. I've compiled APC from source as well as used pecl to install it. No difference. I also tried downgrading to APC 3.0.19, with no love.

• Changing a datatype solely for the purpose of Excel Export in Crystal Reports

  I have a report that has several numerical fields. To fill a project requirement, i had to use the following formula: if {DataTable1.No of Investments}>9999 then '*****' else toText({DataTable1.No of Investments},0) Basically, if the number fed in is bigger than 9999 it turns into * on the report. Now, when i try to export into excel, not only is the data type for all fields, strings...but the * show up versus numbers. I was wondering if there was a way to re-cast this back into a numerical value SOLELY for the purpose of excel exportation so that i'd be able to use excel formulas as well as see numbers instead of asterisks. I'd only be doing data-only excel exports. Any ideas?

I have read that the dd-wrt firmware will meet my needs (though I gather I'll need the vpn-specific build, which appears to preclude supporting VOIP), but I'm not wedded to using it.   i have tp-link wireless router 192.168.10.188, i was can make it function as DHCP provider(range 192.168.10.100 to 192.168.10.109). the only thing that i cannot make it work as intended, is for it to provide different gateway (192.168.10.1), the computers that obtain IP from that router properly get everything(dynamic IP and dns IP), but there is no function on that router to provide different gateway, the computers always get the router's address(192.168.10.188) as gateway. is there a router that can provide different gateway other than its own address? or the question should be, is the dhcp of a router can provide different gateway other than its own address? note: i cannot make the wireless router address as 192.168.10.1, we have main router(non-wireless, address is 192.168.10.1) that is connected directly to internet

  I am developing a program for Surface using Expression Blend and Visual Studio. I have a custom user control with an ellipse and a label in a grid. This will need to be placed in a scatterViewItem. My problem is that the scatterviewitem will cast a rectangle shaped shadow under the ellipse shaped content. I can disable the shadow completely, but is there any way to make the shadow inherit the shape from its parent? Or can i set the shape of the scatterviewItem itself in any way?

  I've read quite a few questions on SuperUser of people having laptop shutdown problems but mine is different. My laptop specs: Intel Core i7 3610QM (IvyBridge) NVIDIA GT630M 2GB and Intel GMA4000 8GB RAM Windows 7 64 Bit My laptop occasionally shuts down when playing FarCry 3. It's around 5 months old. I've played games like Crysis and it never shuts down unexpectedly. Since I experienced this shut down recently, I decided for GPU-Z to log the temperatures. The final log value at the time of shutdown were thus: GPU Core Clock [MHz] - 797.3 GPU Memory Clock [MHz] - 896.8 GPU Temperature [°C] - 89.0 GPU Load [%] - 99 Memory Controller Load [%] - 36 Video Engine Load [%] - 0 Memory Usage (Dedicated) [MB] - 535 Memory Usage (Dynamic) [MB] - 53 VDDC [V] - 1.0620 My drivers are up-to-date and I didn't encounter any BSODs at the time of shut down.   I frequently work with libraries that use char when working with bytes in C++. The alternative is to define a "Byte" as unsigned char but that not the standard they decided to use. I frequently pass bytes from C# into the C++ dlls and cast them to char to work with the library. When casting ints to chars or chars to other simple types what are some of the side effects that can occur. Specifically, when has this broken code that you have worked on and how did you find out it was because of the char signedness? Lucky i haven't run into this in my code, used a char signed casting trick back in an embedded systems class in school. I'm looking to better understand the issue since I feel it is relevant to the work I am doing.

  I have a custom subclass of BindingList<T> that I want to execute a LINQ query over using the handy extension methods. That's some code I want to execute once and after that process has finished. Do or don't SPSite and SPWeb's remain opened somwhere? Why i`m asking this? I just don't want to stress when using something like var lists = from web in site.AllWebs.Cast<SPWeb>() where web is meeting workspace && list is task list select list then do some stuff on lists etc. Some serious resource leak there because webs get opened, filtered and NOT closed. So should I worry in console app?

• Copying a 14bit grayscale image (saved in long[]) to a pictureBox

  My camera gives me 14bit grayscale images, but the API's function returns a long* to the image data. (so i'm assuming 4 bytes for each pixel) My application is written in C++/CLI, and the pictureBox is of .NET type. I am currently using the BitmapData.LockBits() mechanism to gain pointer access to the image data, and using memcpy(bmpData.Scan0.ToPointer(), imageData, sizeof(long)*height*width) to copy the image data to the Bitmap. For now, the only PixelFormat that is working is 32bit RGB, and the image appears in shades of blue with contours. Trying to initialize the Bitmap as 16bppGrayscale isn't working. I would ideally want to cast the array from long to word and using a 16bit format (hoping the the 14bit data will be displayed properly) but I'm not sure if this works. Also, I don't want to iterate over the image data, so finding the min/max and then histogram stretching to [0..255] isnt an option for me (the display must be as efficient as possible) Thanks

• Finding a private (NAT) host's IP using historic destination data

  The issue: An unknown private (NAT) client is infected with malware and it's trying to access a Bot server at random times/dates. How we know about this: We receive bot traffic notices/alerts from REN-ISAC. Unfortunately, we don't receive those until the next day after it has happened. What they provide to us is: The source address (of the firewall) The destination addresses (it varies, but they're going to network subnet allocated to a German ISP) The source port (which varies--dynamic ports). Question: What would be the best approach to finding this internal host (historically) with a Cisco ASA as firewall? I'm guessing blocking anything to the destination address(es), and logging that type of traffic/access might allow me to find the source host, but I'm not sure which tool/command would be the most useful. I've seen Netflow thrown into a few responses when it comes to logging, but I'm confused with it's association of Logging, NAL, and nBAR, and how they relate to Netflow.

  Hello I have used some third party controls in my windows application. There is a snippet which is being used in our code which re-initializes all the .text property of all the controls on the form. Everything works fine except for a control. This control is similar to the Windows Panel except for it has a dropdown appearance. This control has .Caption property instead of .Text property associated to it. This causes the problem whenever i use such codes foreach (Control oControl in this.Controls) { if (oControl is DropDownPanel) { { oControl.Text = rm_ResourceManager.GetString(oControl.Name + ".Text"); } } } The text is not set here for the DropDownPanel control in the above method. Since .Text is not available for DropDownPanel control. I cannot do the following either .. ((DropDownPanel)oControl).Caption = rm_ResourceManager.GetString(oControl.Name + ".Text"); Cos it shall throw exception if i try to cast oControl with that of DropDownPanel Any ideas how can i overcome such a condition.   1and1 VPS ("dynamic cloud server") does not boot any more as soon as mysql lookup is enabled in nsswitch.conf - any suggestions appreciated. Minimal setup to reproduce the problem: install Ubuntu 12.04 / LTS minimal server image install mysql-server, libnss-mysql-bg, nscd configure /etc/libnss-mysql.cfg and /etc/libnss-mysql-root.cfg set up appropriate database tables configure nss lookups through mysql in nsswitch.conf passwd: compat mysql group: compat mysql shadow: compat mysql Now, when I try to reboot the server it just hangs. No logs (maybe due to /var not yet being mounted), and I can't see console output (since this is a VPS). Booting into recovery image and removing "mysql" from /etc/nsswitch.conf makes the system bootable again, so this is definitely related to nsswitch/libnss-mysql-bg. There's a thread on gentoo-users which seems to describe a similar problem, unfortunately there's no real solution described, also the thread is rather old (from 2006) so I'm not sure whether this applies to me at all.
