• Permission forbidden on localhost with apache2

  Here is what I am trying to do. I tried to add another folder to apache and I get the following error when trying to acces testing/index.html. The idea is that I would like to have for every customer a folder like /home/neagoe/Work/InterWebs/Projects/[PROJECT NAME]/CustomerProjects/website/dist. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /index.html on this server. • Findbugs warning: Equals method should not assume anything about the type of its argument

  When running FindBugs on my project, I got a few instances of the error described above. Namely, my overriding versions of equals cast the RHS object into the same type as the object in which the overriding version is defined. However, I'm not sure whether a better design is possible, since AFAIK Java does not allow variance in method parameters, so it is not possible to define any other type for the equals parameter. Am I doing something very wrong, or is FindBugs too eager? A different way to phrase this question is: what is the correct behavior if the object passed to equals is not the same type as an LHS: Is this a false, or should there be an exception? • Xdebug 2.0.5 with Zend Server CE PHP5.2.12 possible?

  I'm using Zend Server CE with PHP 5.2.12 on OSX Snow Leopard and want to use Xdebug. I've turned off Zend Data Cache, Zend Optimizer+, and Zend Debugger in the console. When I run $ cd ~/Downloads/xdebug-2.0.5 $ /usr/local/zend/bin/phpize I get Configuring for: PHP Api Version: 20041225 Zend Module Api No: 20060613 Zend Extension Api No: 220060519 The PHP API Version, 20041225, seems to be off from the documentation (aka wrong). When I continue installation with $ ./configure ---with-php-config=/usr/local/zend/bin/php-config $ make $ sudo make install The installed xdebug.so seems to be the wrong one. Which version of xdebug do I need for this PHP API version? The Zend API numbers are ok. I'm just confused at why the PHP API Version doesn't match. • Can't ping self

  I have a wireless internet connection setup on my Mac. (v10.5.6) Am connected to the internet and everything is running smoothly. I recently discovered a quirky behaviour while setting up apache web server. When i typed in my dynamic ip (http://117.254.149.11/) in the webbrowser to visit my site pages it just timed out. In terminal i tried pinging localhost and it worked. $ ping localhost PING localhost (127.0.0.1): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.063 ms 64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.056 ms 64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.044 ms But if i pinged my ip it would just time out. $ ping 117.254.149.11 PING 117.254.149.11 (117.254.149.11): 56 data bytes ^C --- 117.254.149.11 ping statistics --- 10 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss Pinging any other site works though. I am completely stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Quickly retrieve the subset of properties used in a huge collection in C#

  I have a huge Collection (which I can cast as an enumerable using OfType<()) of objects. Each of these objects has a Category property, which is drawn from a list somewhere else in the application. This Collection can reach sizes of hundreds of items, but it is possible that only, say, 6/30 of the possible Categories are actually used. What is the fastest method to find these 6 Categories? The size of the huge Collection discourages me from just iterating across the entire thing and returning all unique values, so is there a faster method of accomplishing this? Ideally I'd collect the categories into a List.

Even if this throw an error "Specified cast is not valid." "rezultat=(int)cmd.ExecuteScalar();" - the code is executed and the row is inserted in the database, and the execution continues. • Alternative to c++ static virtual methods

  In C++ is not possible to declare a static virtual function, neither cast a non-static function to a C style function pointer. Now, I have a plain ol' C SDK that uses function pointers heavily. I have to fill a structure with several function pointers. I was planning to use an abstract class with a bunch of static pure virtual methods, and redefine them in derived classes and fill the structure with them. It wasn't until then that I realized that static virtual are not allowed in C++. Is there any good alternative? The best I can think of is defining some pure virtual methods GetFuncA(), GetFuncB(),... and some static members FuncA()/FuncB() in each derived class, which would be returned by the GetFuncX(). Then a function in the abstract class would call those functions to get the pointers and fill the structure.

• is it possible for a router to provide different gateway?

  i have tp-link wireless router 192.168.10.188, i was can make it function as DHCP provider(range 192.168.10.100 to 192.168.10.109). the only thing that i cannot make it work as intended, is for it to provide different gateway (192.168.10.1), the computers that obtain IP from that router properly get everything(dynamic IP and dns IP), but there is no function on that router to provide different gateway, the computers always get the router's address(192.168.10.188) as gateway. is there a router that can provide different gateway other than its own address? or the question should be, is the dhcp of a router can provide different gateway other than its own address? note: i cannot make the wireless router address as 192.168.10.1, we have main router(non-wireless, address is 192.168.10.1) that is connected directly to internet

  I've read quite a few questions on SuperUser of people having laptop shutdown problems but mine is different. My laptop specs: Intel Core i7 3610QM (IvyBridge) NVIDIA GT630M 2GB and Intel GMA4000 8GB RAM Windows 7 64 Bit My laptop occasionally shuts down when playing FarCry 3. It's around 5 months old. I've played games like Crysis and it never shuts down unexpectedly. Since I experienced this shut down recently, I decided for GPU-Z to log the temperatures. The final log value at the time of shutdown were thus: GPU Core Clock [MHz] - 797.3 GPU Memory Clock [MHz] - 896.8 GPU Temperature [°C] - 89.0 GPU Load [%] - 99 Memory Controller Load [%] - 36 Video Engine Load [%] - 0 Memory Usage (Dedicated) [MB] - 535 Memory Usage (Dynamic) [MB] - 53 VDDC [V] - 1.0620 My drivers are up-to-date and I didn't encounter any BSODs at the time of shut down.   I frequently work with libraries that use char when working with bytes in C++. The alternative is to define a "Byte" as unsigned char but that not the standard they decided to use. I frequently pass bytes from C# into the C++ dlls and cast them to char to work with the library. When casting ints to chars or chars to other simple types what are some of the side effects that can occur. Specifically, when has this broken code that you have worked on and how did you find out it was because of the char signedness? Lucky i haven't run into this in my code, used a char signed casting trick back in an embedded systems class in school. I'm looking to better understand the issue since I feel it is relevant to the work I am doing.

  Foreword: I am not asking for the differences between Nginx and Apache, nor do I want to start a "which one is better discussion. I would like to ask for help with choosing the most adequate solution for this particular situation. I need to setup one or more l SVN repositories accessible via HTTP, plus some PHP, Django and Ruby websites. However, and since I only have 512Mb of RAM at my disposal, I fear that Apache will be a too heavy choice... On the other hand, I have heard that Nginx does not fully support SVN (WebDAV) and Django without reverse proxying to Apache. Is this still true? Should I go for Apache/Nginx alone? Or should I set up both and have Nginx handling static content and proxying to Apacge for dynamic content?

  Hello guys, i have a table with a column that contains Boolean type. now when i try to run a program i have a problem: System.out.println(table.getColumnClass(5)); b= (Boolean)table.getValueAt(row, 5); It prints class java.lang.Boolean but also: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String cannot be cast to java.lang.Boolean and i even try with b= (Boolean)table.getValueAt(row, 5); b= Boolean.parseBoolean((String)table.getValueAt(row, 5)); b= table.getValueAt(row, 5); but those show error too. So how to fix this guys?

• Changing a datatype solely for the purpose of Excel Export in Crystal Reports

  I have a report that has several numerical fields. To fill a project requirement, i had to use the following formula: if {DataTable1.No of Investments}>9999 then '*****' else toText({DataTable1.No of Investments},0) Basically, if the number fed in is bigger than 9999 it turns into * on the report. Now, when i try to export into excel, not only is the data type for all fields, strings...but the * show up versus numbers. I was wondering if there was a way to re-cast this back into a numerical value SOLELY for the purpose of excel exportation so that i'd be able to use excel formulas as well as see numbers instead of asterisks. I'd only be doing data-only excel exports. Any ideas?

  We have Best practices on using disposable object in SharePoint. But i`m thinking - can I skip these when using Console Application? That's some code I want to execute once and after that process has finished. Do or don't SPSite and SPWeb's remain opened somwhere? Why i`m asking this? I just don't want to stress when using something like var lists = from web in site.AllWebs.Cast<SPWeb>() where web is meeting workspace && list is task list select list then do some stuff on lists etc. Some serious resource leak there because webs get opened, filtered and NOT closed. So should I worry in console app?

• Ubuntu 12.04 VPS doesn't boot with mysql in nsswitch.conf

  1and1 VPS ("dynamic cloud server") does not boot any more as soon as mysql lookup is enabled in nsswitch.conf - any suggestions appreciated. Minimal setup to reproduce the problem: install Ubuntu 12.04 / LTS minimal server image install mysql-server, libnss-mysql-bg, nscd configure /etc/libnss-mysql.cfg and /etc/libnss-mysql-root.cfg set up appropriate database tables configure nss lookups through mysql in nsswitch.conf passwd: compat mysql group: compat mysql shadow: compat mysql Now, when I try to reboot the server it just hangs. No logs (maybe due to /var not yet being mounted), and I can't see console output (since this is a VPS). Booting into recovery image and removing "mysql" from /etc/nsswitch.conf makes the system bootable again, so this is definitely related to nsswitch/libnss-mysql-bg. There's a thread on gentoo-users which seems to describe a similar problem, unfortunately there's no real solution described, also the thread is rather old (from 2006) so I'm not sure whether this applies to me at all.

• APC module causing strange error

  When I run php -v I get: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib64/php/modules/apc.so' - /usr/lib64/php/modules/apc.so: undefined symbol: php_pcre_exec in Unknown on line 0 This isn't my first rodeo. I've setup APC multiple times. This is a MediaTemple Dedicated Virtual 4.0 with Plesk 11. Plesk 11 is the only thing essentially different from the other servers I've set this up on. I've verified that pcre-devel is installed. I've compiled APC from source as well as used pecl to install it. No difference. I also tried downgrading to APC 3.0.19, with no love.

  I have a custom subclass of BindingList<T> that I want to execute a LINQ query over using the handy extension methods. For example: public int GetSum(MyList<T> list) { return list.Sum(x => x.Value); } But the compiler complains that it can't resolve Sum because it doesn't recognize list as an IEnumerable<T>, which it obviously is, because this works: public int GetSum(MyList<T> list) { return ((IEnumerable<T>)list).Sum(x => x.Value); } Anyone have a clever way I can avoid the ugly and unecessary cast?

I have read that I should be wanting to set up the AM200 in half-bridge mode, so that the WRT54GL gets the WAN IP - this sounds like a good idea, but I'd still like to be advised. I have read that the dd-wrt firmware will meet my needs (though I gather I'll need the vpn-specific build, which appears to preclude supporting VOIP), but I'm not wedded to using it. I live in the UK and my ISP supplies me with: a block of 8 static IPs, of which 5 are usable to me a PPPoA ADSL2+ connection

• Making the shadow from a ScatterViewItem a different shape

  I am developing a program for Surface using Expression Blend and Visual Studio. I have a custom user control with an ellipse and a label in a grid. This will need to be placed in a scatterViewItem. My problem is that the scatterviewitem will cast a rectangle shaped shadow under the ellipse shaped content. I can disable the shadow completely, but is there any way to make the shadow inherit the shape from its parent? Or can i set the shape of the scatterviewItem itself in any way?

• IIS not listening over external network, all other traffic working

  Hello there, I have a very odd situation, I have a server (let's call it X) running 2008 R2 with two NIC's in it, one is connected to the work domain and has a subnet of 192.168.10.0/24 the other is connected to a ADSL connection and has a subnet of 192.168.1.0/24. The server has IIS installed. On the ADSL connection I have setup a dynamic dns and port forwarding to allow external HTTP, HTTPS, FTP and RDP connections. FTP and RDP are working fine however neither HTTP or HTTPS are working at all. I can browse the websites by going to localhost on the machine, the HTTP and HTTPS ports appear as "Filtered" when I try to scan them using PortQueryUI and browsers respond with a "Server took too long to load or was not responding" error. This was working fine just a few days ago, Windows firewall is disabled I don't have any software firewall on it. And I'm really lost. Any help would be great.
