  I am using a Windows 2008 Server as my LDAP server and on a Ubuntu 12.04 client I am trying to connect to it. I get the following error: nss_ldap: could not connect to any LDAP server as (null) - Can't contact LDAP server From my Ubuntu client I run the following: ldapsearch -h 10.1.1.251 -D admin -w password -s base dc=ad,dc=xxx,dc=com -p 389 and get the following success message # search result search: 2 result: 0 Success Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Deny access to a folder on hosting server but serve the pages

  My hosting server allows to host multiple websites. The directory structure is like this root |_ www.a.com |_ www.b.com |_ www.c.com |_ www.d.com I want to put some PHP files on the www.d.com folder so if some one browse the site from web-browser can get it, but no one can get it's source code [even by loggin in to the root folder]. Is there any way to doing so ? There is a feature called Password protect folder or so, can in help in this case ?

• Download files from a SharePoint site using the RSSBus SSIS Components

  In this article we will show how to use a stored procedure included in the RSSBus SSIS Components for SharePoint to download files from SharePoint. While the article uses the RSSBus SSIS Components for SharePoint, the same process will work for any of our SSIS Components. Step 1: Open Visual Studio and create a new Integration Services Project. Step 2: Add a new Data Flow Task to the Control Flow screen and open the Data Flow Task. Step 3: Add an RSSBus SharePoint Source to the Data Flow Task. Step 4: In the RSSBus SharePoint Source, add a new Connection Manager, and add your credentials for the SharePoint site. Step 5: Now from the Table or View dropdown, choose the name of the Document Library that you are going to back up and close the wizard. Step 6: Add a Script Component to the Data Flow Task and drag an output arrow from the 'RSSBus SharePoint Source' to it. Step 7: Open the Script Component, go to edit the Input Columns, and choose all the columns. Step 8: This will open a new Visual Studio instance, with a project in it. In this project add a reference to the RSSBus.SSIS2008.SharePoint assembly available in the RSSBus SSIS Components for SharePoint installation directory. Step 9: In the 'ScriptMain' class, add the System.Data.RSSBus.SharePoint namespace and go to the 'Input0_ProcessInputRow' method (this method's name may vary depending on the input name in the Script Component). Step 10: In the 'Input0_ProcessInputRow' method, you can add code to use the DownloadDocument stored procedure. • Empathy "Authentication failed" when connecting to Freenode

  Just install 12.04-64bit and while I can login using the guest login, I cannot with my user login: it just cycles back to the login screen. I have performed the sequence of apt-get update/upgrade and install of the nvidia-current driver, but got back that it was already in use. The password appears to be recognized, as wrong one results in an error. Have also tried switching to the 2D Unity, without other results.

• Problem after upgrading to 13.10

  I am a new user to Ubuntu and not a very accomplished user. I have dual partitioned my laptop, recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 and also Ubuntu 13.10.Now when I boot into Ubuntu I get a running line of 3's and squiggles followed by scrolling (with a fail on the line "reload cups, upon starting avahi-daemon to make sure remote queues are populated"). If I press any key, but mostly return, it will boot into the password page. Any ideas? Thanks.

• System Settings and Software Center does not pull up after fresh install 11.10 amd64

  I've had a few install rounds with ubuntu ever since 8.04 and has worked flawlessly every time. However, for some reason, when I try to click either System Settings or Software Center, the icon pulses as if it were working to come up but never does. The same goes for System Settings. I would expect that a password dialog would appear, but nothing shows. Is there bug with 11.10 that didn't exist with 11.04?

(failure-report is not working and crashing too after correct password). this concerns: medibuntu, mediaplayer, totem, mplayer and xine (probably too many installed and I should decide for only one ? - but it was no problem in 12.04 ?).
