    A very basic question, but after reading the "Design Patterns: Elements of reusable OO Software" book, I'm a little confused. The book states, "An object's type only refers to its interface-the set of request to which it can respond. An object can have many types, and objects of different classes can have the same type." Could someone please better explain what a Type is? I also don't understand how one object can have multiple types...unless the book is speaking of polymorphism....

I think SSAS stores the processing log as a text or XML file, but I do not know what folder to look into. Can someone direct me to retrieving processing logs?

    Is it safe to store information such as usernames and passwords within comments in your source code? I am not worried about some getting access to my source but I am concerned in regards to someone decompiling my compiled silverlight XAP file. Is anybody 100% sure if the compiler strips off commented code. I would assume it does but I want to be sure. Thanks!

  • Should I define models that will be owned by many different models or use controller and views?

    I am struggling to figure out how to get a relationship between several models. I have sales_leads which I need to view by company and by event. So if someone looks up the leads by company they can see all leads across all events, but also see all leads by event. Not sure if this is ownership versus a where? Should it be something like Company.sales_leads where("event.event_id = ?", "2356") Or Models: sales_lead belongs_to event belongs_to company

    I am working on a google box, something like this, http://mytwentyfive.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/byme/Google%20Search%20Appliances.jpg I am pointing the crawler to a folder where there are html files. before the crawler was crawling the files and indexing them but right now it finds the pattern or the folder but not following any html files within the folder. I have tried everything I could and know but, can't think of anything else. Can someone help? thanks

    Hi all, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me What are the differences, in Delphi 2009, between the CompareStr (defined in SysUtils) and CompareString (from Windows API) functions? Both let you specify the locale to be used, is the Windows one simply more "complete", due to the available comparison flags? Is one consequently faster than the other? Thanks!

  • sIFR: page refresh causes background images problems in IE8

    I'm using sIFR 3 r436. When a page is reloaded, and often also on load, in IE8 the background image does'nt appear completely. When clicking on an intern link the background is displayed correctly. Google Chrome has also minor problems in displaying. One idea I can think of is going through all the popular algorithms on sorting, trees, graphs etc. and implementing them in Clojure myself. While it could work, it may be pretty steep and I'm likely to do it inefficiently (compared to someone who knows what she's doing).

However, I'd like to be able to change my app settings from within my app. It seems as though there should be some kind of generic way to add this functionality to my app without having to recreate all the controls myself.   • PR_USER_X509_CERTIFICATE extra data

    Hi, I am trying to import an outlook PST file to my application running on Mac OS X. The PST file consists of contacts created in Outlook. The contacts have X509 certificates added to them. The problem I am facing is ASN decoding of the certificate fails. I have read somewhere that there is extra data before and after the certificate referred by PR_USER_X509_CERTIFICATE in the PST file. For general formatted debug output, though, I want to use ::NKDbgPrintfW directly and wonder if someone knows if it compiles to a nop in optimised release builds or if my own macro wrapper around it with #ifdef DEBUG is still needed?
