  • Tabbed browsing, programaticaly navigating to another open tab

    Hello, I'm in a discussion with my co-worker. We have a web application in a tabbed browsing environment, say with 2 tabs open. Tab2 has a link to tab1, when I click the link, it opens tab1 in a new tab. We want to detect if tab 1 is already open, if so then set focus to tab1 (and not open a new window). He has gotten this working in a broswer window environment, but says it is not possible in a tabbed environment. Is it possible to for javascript to determine if tab1 is already open and then just set focus to that tab? Thanks in advance!

    When i use this code <!--[if IE 6]> <link rel="stylesheet" href="ie6.css" type="text/css" /> <![endif]--> <!--[if !IE]> <link rel="stylesheet" href="not_ie.css" type="text/css" /> <![endif]--> IE 6 does correctly use the specified stylesheet but all other browsers ignore both when they should be using the one that basically states, use this stylesheet if you are not IE. Any ideas?

  • Multiple instances of this carousel on a single page - can't get it to work

I have tried and so far failed - by numbering the id "carousel" and so forth. Any help would be seriously appreciated.     On my webpage when i press command link its opening a new page perfectly on IE7/Firefox 3/Chrome/Safari 4.0.4 but after this none of the parent page's command buttons are not working ,this happens only in safari.I am using JSF 1.2 mojara.   • MooTools event listener disappears after element.innerHTML is changed

    Hi everyone, I am trying to achieve this task using MooTools. Description: I attached an event listener to "myButton" link. A click on this link initiates an AJAX request and updates "myDiv" content based on the response text. During this request a POST variable is being sent to "button.php", but it's not used at the moment.. (i wish to use it later) OK, as a result, "myDiv" gets exactly the same link with the same ID (myButton) + a random number, so that we could see that each click generates a new number. The problem: After the first click on "myButton", "myDiv" updates correctly, showing a random number. When I click "myButton" for the second time (this time in newly updated div), the div does not refresh anymore. Please note that I need "myButton" to be inside "myDiv", and "myDiv" must be updated (refreshed) after each click without having to refresh the entire page.     In the svnbook, it shows you how to shorten the URL to your repositories when using svnserve as a daemon, using -r like: svnserve -d -r /usr/local/repositories That way, you can refer to the repository you need right after the hostname in the URL without revealing any of the local path (which is /usr/local/repositories/project1): svn checkout svn://host.example.com/project1 However, now that I am switching to svn+ssh, I have the local path back in my repository URL: svn checkout svn+ssh://host.example.com/usr/local/repositories/project1 Does anyone know how to hide that local path and use a shorter URL as up above, using svn+ssh and WITHOUT using a UNIX soft link on the svn server? (you still end up with an extra string in the URL if you use a soft link...) UPDATE: The solution to this can be found in the accepted answer over on ServerFault (the green-checked answer). Yay!

    How do you when using custom fields in Wordpress echo just the first value using foreach? Currently the code is: <?php for(get_field('venue_event') as $post_object): ?> <a href="<?php echo get_permalink($post_object); ?>"><?php echo get_the_title($post_object) ?></a> <?php endforeach; ?> This takes the field from the wordpress page (the field is a link to another page), creates a link to that page using get_permalink but when I want to echo the page title it does it, but then it also echos all other values that are not needed.

  • How to add "make install" target to simple Eclipse C project

    I have a simple Eclipse C project. Is there a way to add a "make install" target to the generated makefile? I can't seem to find the right search keywords to find any useful information in the doc or by googling (i.e. there is too much noise and no signal.) I tried creating a simple project using the autotools plug-in but without being able to find any useful doc or tutorial that starts from scratch with a single C source file, I couldn't even get the project to build. Edit: I'll take an answer based on using the autotools plug-in if I can get my project to build. I don't see how to add an include dir (-I) a link dir (-L) or additional link libs to a new Hello World autotools C project. Is there any simple autotools plug-in tutorial that covers this?

  • Git Use Remote Source Durring Push

    I have a local git repository a "central" repo at github. I'm working on a part of a project, while a friend is working on a related piece that is its entirely seperate repo, is it possible for me to simply link directly to my friends repo? For example, the app is called widgets. I have all my code in widgets/app/mycode and my friend is writing code that goes into widgets/plugins/awesome/hiscode. I want to be able to always have http://github.com/mycode/widgets/plugins/hiscode to be a direct link or clone to http://github.com/hiscode/awesome ? It could be possible i'm missing something basic in my question or knowledge of git, if so please ask, and i'll be happy to try to fill in the blanks. I am deploying to my production site via capistrano, so maybe a script of some kind may be easier?? I don't know (that's why i'm posting)!!

    hi All, I'm experimenting with codeigniter but don't really understand how links work. for example, I have a link like this: localhost/ci/welcome/cat/7 My base url is localhost/ci, so by clicking on this link I would expect the method "cat" of controller "welcome" to be called. This method is very simple: function cat() { echo "just a test."; } Pretty basic - I would expect to see the text on screen, but I just see a 404 -page not found error. What could be the problem?

  • CakePHP: Ajax view problem (nothing in the view showing)

    I created a function in my controller called addToPlaylist($songName). I wanted to add these song names to an array and then a session variable using an Ajax call. The first time i did this i got an error saying i do not have a template file to display in the chosen div ("add_to_playlist.ctp was missing"). I created this file and everything seemed to be working correctly. Basically I went to bed woke up and it is broken (it is possible I changed something before I went to bed). The problem now is that it does not show anything when i click the ajax link. when i click on the ajax link it seems to call the function but nothing displays in the view (except debug info) even when i delete the view (add_to_playlist.ctp) i get no errors, I just see debug info now.

  • CSS gaps between image links for no reason

    Hi, I've been trying to get this horizontal navigation sorted for the past few hours now and nothing is working. I've tried reset.css stylesheets, *{padding: 0; margin: 0) etc. and I still have gaps inbetween my image links. You see, the navigation is made up of an unordered list of image links displayed inline, but there are gaps in between each image, left, right, top and bottom and I can't see why. It's the same in all browsers. Here is a link to the page, and so source: Beansheaf Temporary I can't post more than one link (damn reputation) so the css is at the same url but in the directory "styles" and is called "fund2.css".     I am working on an ASP.NET MVC 2 application. In one of my data entry forms, I have an "employer" field which has a "search" link next to it. When a user clicks on this link, another window is opened with a search form. The user uses the search form to search for the correct employer. A list of employers is shown to the user. Currently, the user has to then copy and paste the correct employer from the child window into the original window. I want to implement it so that each employer search result in the child window is a hyperlink. The user would then click on the correct employer and then the correct employer value would be populated in the original parent window employer field. How would I go about implementing this in ASP.NET MVC 2?
