    I am trying to pre-populate a text box with today's date, but for some reason, it keeps showing today's date as 5/30/13, which is a month behind. This code should just be pulling the local time so why is it a month behind?     I updated jQuery latest version v1.4.2 and getting 'Could not convert JavaScript argument arg 0' this error. Is the any common fix for this. I found some solution and they are saying that when finding dimension for display none element it will give this error. Also the following fix is working for me Placing this if (!elem || elem == document) elem = document.body above this line var computedStyle = defaultView.getComputedStyle(elem, null); I am not sure this is the proper solution. I first found this bug when using jquery blockUI plugin and after updating that plugin to latest version fixed this issue. Anyone suggest me better solution for this?

    Hi i have a document from which i am trying to extract a date. But the problem is within the node along with the date their is some text too. Something like <div class="postHeader"> Posted on July 20, 2009 9:22 PM PDT </div> From this tag i just want the date item not the Posted on text. something like ./xhtml:div[@class = 'postHeader'] is getting everything. and to be precise, the document i have is basically a nodelist of this elements for eg i will get 10 nodes of these elements with different date values but to be worse the problem is sometime inside these tags some random other tags also pops us like anchors etc. Can i write a universal expath which will just get the date out of the div tag?

Instead i want that the function will get a directory for example c:\ And it will return me a List of all directories in c:\ Not subsirectories just the directories in c:\ in my case it should be a List with a 14 directories. Meaning in each index in the List a directory. How can i do it ? Tried with Directory and DirectoryInfo but i just got messed up.

    Hi guys, Had a look and found some things on this, but nothing seems to work as I'd like it. Initially I had my solution working with internet explorer and chrome, but not firefox (which is unsatisfactory for me to not have working) What I'm looking for is a simple text area, which sends data on enter key, but creates a new line on Shift+Enter. The following is what I have function goReturn(e,str) { var e = (window.Event) ? e.which : e.keyCode; if (e.shiftKey && e=="13") { document.getElementById("wall").value = document.getElementById("wall").value+"\n"; } else if(e=="13"){ // ...continue to send data } } This sends the data on enter, but also sends the data on shift and enter (which is the problem I have).   • In C# is there a thread scheduler for long running threads?

    Hi, Our scenario is a network scanner. It connects to a set of hosts and scans them in parallel for a while using low priority background threads. I want to be able to schedule lots of work but only have any given say ten or whatever number of hosts scanned in parallel. Even if I create my own threads, the many callbacks and other asynchronous goodness uses the ThreadPool and I end up running out of resources. I should look at MonoTorrent... If I use THE ThreadPool, can I limit my application to some number that will leave enough for the rest of the application to Run smoothly? Is there a threadpool that I can initialize to n long lived threads?

  • can not find out if the div element is already set in body in chrome extension

    in my chrome extension I got an div, which I will add to the body of the current tab. I am listening to chrome.tabs.onUpdated. If this event is called, I execute a script inside content_scripts. In this function there I´ll wait till the document is ready with jQuery $(document).ready(...). I try to access $("#div").length and sometimes it returns 1 and sometimes 0. It should added to the body, if it´s not already there. For some strange reasons, the onUpdated event is called twice on each page reload. Actually I found no way to check safely if the div was already added.

  • Creating a textarea with auto-resize

    There was another thread about this, which I've tried. But there is one problem: the textarea doesn't shrink if you delete the content. I can't find any way to shrink it to the correct size - the clientHeight value comes back as the full size of the textarea, not its contents. The code from that page is below.     I'am dealing here with a web application that defines somewhere in a java script file: $ = function() { return document.getElementById(arguments[0]); } Every other script, jsp page and dynamic content loaded from db depends on the semantic of the $ - sign working as 'document.getElementById'. Now i would like to start using jqery. So i think i have 2 options: refactor the existing application (all script files, jsp's, dynamic content etc.) somehow introduct jquery as something differnt than '$' (not really an option) don't start using jquery Are there any other solutions? What would you do?

  • couchdb: one database per account vs all in one database w. a namespace / property

    I'm modelling a document generation system in couchdb. It semi-automates the production of proposal and presentation documents from managable document fragments. Much like, say, Basecamp, it breaks down very simply into self-contained data per 'account'. Each account has multiple users, projects, documents, etc. However, nothing should be shared between accounts. I can see two ways of doing this: one couchdb database per account use a namespace / property to identify the account It seems to me that the first approach is conceptually sound and potentially has security and partitioning advantages. However, it seems to me to restrict some cross-database data querying (that I don't have a use case for now but you never know...) and to make updating views potentially require an awful lot of writes. Does anyone experienced with this kind of decision have any advice?

    I am trying to typeset a large document using ReportLab and Python 2.7. It has a number of sections (about 6 in a 1,000 page document) and I would like each to start on odd-numbered/right-hand page. I have no idea though whether the preceding page will be odd or even and so need the ability to optionally throw an additional blank page before a particular paragraph style (like you sometimes get in manuals where some pages are "intentionally left blank"). Can anyone suggest how this could be done, as the only conditional page break I can find works on the basis of the amount of text on the page not a page number. I also need to make sure that the blank page is included in the PDF so that double-sided printing works.

  • Program output to file in Java (and reading it again)

    I have a large main method in an IO class which creates objects from four different classes in my program (which all use one another to some extent). My main method takes all info in using a scanner, from the console window, and uses this info to call the constructors and methods in the other classes. As this is my first full program in Java I have been focussed on making the main method work via the console, without properly considering file input and output. I cannot see an easy way of making that work now. Ideally what I require is some way of writing everything I input to the console while running the main method to a file, in a format that can be read again and inputed back through the main method? I have refrained from posting the main method as it is 250+ lines long, but will post any relevant parts of it if required. Any help appreciated

    Hello, I have a function using $.ajax() to get values from an XML file, when the info is loaded and success event is fired, I use $(xml).find('').each(function(){}); to populate some vars... function getData() { $.ajax({ type: 'GET', url : 'info.xml', dataType: 'xml', success: function(xml) { $(xml).find('DATAS').each(function() { date = new Date($(this).attr('DATE')); alert(date); }) //Here I have a bigger find/each that should take more time }, error: function() { return false; } }); } In this case, when I trigger the function from the document ready function, the alert shows the right data, but If I remove the alert from the function and try this instead, date wont be defined yet: $(document).ready(function() { if(getData() != false) { alert(date); } }); I guess in this case the data is not ready yet? Is there a way to keep control on when the whole each() traversing is finished and ready?
