• No such file to load bundler error for Rails 3

  I have a Rails 3 app ready for staging. I haven't got a VPS host set up yet. As I was planning to have everything on shared host for the first few months. Problem: cd myapp bundle check result: The Gemfile's dependencies are satisfied Passenger error: Error message: no such file to load -- bundler Exception class: LoadError Frustrating thing about shared hosts is that I have to add these lines on config.ru: ENV['GEM_HOME'] = '/home/username/.gems' ENV['GEM_PATH'] = '$GEM_HOME:/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8' Still no luck. Same no such file to load bundler error appears. Has anybody got this working? Rails 3, Debian, shared host (dreamhost)? I could just go ahead and register on Slicehost/Fivebean but before I do, I'd like to know why that error is showing up. Thanks.

• AppCmd returns error: Object 'SET' is not supported

  I am trying to set SSL Host Headers and Secure Site Bindings in IIS7. I followed the directions on this website http://www.digicert.com/ssl-support/ssl-host-headers-iis-7.htm (among others), but when I run the appcmd command mentioned, I get the error "Object 'SET' is not supported. Run 'appcmd.exe /?' to display supported objects". I have also tryed "appcmd site set" but it still returns the same error. What am I doing wrong? The server I am working on is Windows 2008 R2 x64, if that matters. Thank you.

• FTP Error: 550 Cant change directory to /: Permission denied

  I installed Pureftpd and Ispconfig3 on my server. Starting from the point I'll probably uninstall ispconfig3 and make things directly on the server, now I am so stubborn I really want to see where's the problem. I created a ftp user through ispconfig, named amdpftp. It is related to a server user named web7. It logs in with username and password, but if i try to ls, it tells me: FTP Error: 550 Cant change directory to /: Permission denied I thought many things, like: 1. It is a problem of permissions. I went to /var/www/clients/client0/web7 , it was immutable and owned by root. Chattr -i and chown web7:client0 changed permissions, but with no effect. I restored to root:root, and made it immutable again. 2. I make some mistakes in the pureftpd installation: Wrong, it works pretty fine. The pureftpd.log doesn't seem to say anything bad. 3. The pureftpd.log file is only the pureftpd one, I should also check the mysqld functionality, as it is in a mysql database that user, password and working directory are stored. I enabled logging in the my.cnf, but also in the ispconfig database operation there wasn't anything wrong. Then I mkdir testftp in /var/www, chown web7:client0, and edited amdpftp user root directory from /var/www/clients/client0/web7 into /var/www/testftp . Guess what? It worked. So, now I know: 1. The PureFtpd works pretty fine 2. The mysql ispconfig database as well 3. The username and password of the virtual user created by ispconfig into pureftpd work 4. The correlation between username and password and the user web7 and the group client0 does work. What kind of magic has been cast upon the ispconfig directories [/var/www/clients/*] that block ftpusers to operate?

• Running Best Practice Analyzer on Windows 2012 yields error "Result file has not yet been generated"

  Whenever I run the Best Practice Analyzer on a Windows 2012 server with IIS installed, I receive the error: "There has been a Best Practice Analyzer error for Model Id 'Microsoft/Windows/WebServer'. The Result file has not yet been generated. Please perform the scan first and try again." I'm doing this from the "Local Server" section of the Server Manager. I'm logged in as with a domain credential that has administrative rights on the server. I don't know how to generate the result file or where it would be located. I have 4 servers, all with IIS and this is happening on all of them. The servers are practically brand new so there isn't anything really exceptional about their setup. Any suggestions on how to generate the result file? Thanks in advance.

• "OutputPath property is not set" error occurs only when calling MSBuild in CCNET

  I've made an MSBuild project that simply does an msbuild task with our solution file as parameter. I've defined a BeforeBuild target where I set some properties, and a Build target that executes the msbuild task. I've confirmed that no errors occured when building the msbuild script in the command line console. However, when I use it in the msbuild task in my CCNET project, I keep getting the following error: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Microsoft.Common.targets (483,9): error: The OutputPath property is not set for project 'MyProject.msbuild'. Please check to make sure that you have specified a valid combination of Configuration and Platform for this project. Configuration='Debug' Platform='AnyCPU'. You may be seeing this message because you are trying to build a project without a solution file, and have specified a non-default Configuration or Platform that doesn't exist for this project. I checked the build log and it seems that the error occurs during _CheckForInvalidConfigurationAndPlatform. It wasn't even able to continue to my Build task! Since the script is only intended to build the solution under Debug/Release and AnyCPU as platform, I tried to add the following lines to my msbuild project: <PropertyGroup Condition=" '$(Configuration)|$(Platform)' == 'Debug|AnyCPU' "> <OutputPath>.\bin\Debug\</OutputPath> </PropertyGroup> <PropertyGroup Condition=" '$(Configuration)|$(Platform)' == 'Release|AnyCPU' "> <OutputPath>.\bin\Release\</OutputPath> </PropertyGroup> I could still build the project without errors in the command line, but CCNET is returning the same error mentioned above.   I am using 64 bits Windows 7. Oracle Development Tool: SQL Navigator 5.5 was installed on my computer. When I try to start the program I get this error: "Unhandled Exception at startup - Cannot find OCI DLL: oci.dll" Then I get this error: "Access violation at address 0101916B in module 'SQLNav5.exe'. Read of address 00000000" and then the program is terminatied. Any ideas what is the problem? Update: I am trying to install Oracle client - sql navigator - not sure if the server is 64 bits or not.

  Completed CentOS 5.4 perfect install from howtoforge.com (ISPConfig 3). I have ISPConfig 3 deployed with a handful of sites. I installed xen: yum install xen kernel-xen i installed the recommended (linuxtopia.org) virtualization packages and started libvirtd yum install virt-manager libvirt libvirt-python libvirt-python python-virtinst i have damn small linux .iso in /root virt-install --name damnsmall --ram 16 --file=/var/lib/xen/images/damnsmall.img --file-size=1 --vnc --cdrom=/root/current.iso yields the error: ERROR Host does not support any virtualization options i have also tried this from GNOME (virt-manager) and i cant even add a connection. i read somewhere i need to reboot with the xen kernel--i dont think i want to do that--though, not really sure why. i need to keep ISPConfig untouched. Thanks in advance, and let me know if you need additional info

• SBS 2008 Backup Drive Full - Error Code '2147942512'

  We are using Windows Backup on SBS 2008 SP2 and backing up to 1TB external hard drives. Recently after switching drives our backup started failing because the backup drive is full and auto-delete isn't automatically deleting older backups/show copies. I'm trying to get more information to help me effectively prevent this problem from reoccurring in the future. How I can tell that the drive is getting full: In the event viewer under Windows Logs Application, I'm seeing Event ID 517 but it fails to show an intelligible description. However, under Applications and Services Logs Microsoft Windows Backup Operational, I'm seeing an event with the ID of 5 and a description like this: Backup started at '10/4/2011 12:30:12 PM' failed with following error code '2147942512'. One of the most informative posts I've found on this error is located on Microsoft's Technet Forums here. In that post, a Microsoft representative gives this hazy explanation: auto-delete feature to ensure that at least some old backup copies are maintained on the disk -- does not automatically delete backups if space utilization by older copies is less than 1/8 of the disk size or in other words, 13% of the disk size. that means if the one full backup copy does not fit in the 7/8 of the disk size, backup may fail with disk full error. auto-delete will not automatically delete older versions to reclaim more older versions of backup. In the above explanation, I do not understand what is meant by "older copies" except that it appears that anything older than the very last shadow copy would be considered "older copies". I'm going to make the assumption that this problem where auto-delete will not work will affect any hard drive that is large enough to make an effective backup drive, or in other words, any hard drive that is large enough to hold more than one backup/shadow copy at once. The same MS representative proposes the solution of using a larger backup drive. I can't understand how this will help. It appears to me it will simply delay the problem until a later date. In order to resolve this problem for now, I did the following: Assign the backup drive a disk letter under disk management. Run the command line with Administrative rights. diskshadow.exe [enter] delete shadows oldest x: [enter] (where X: is the letter you assigned your backup drive) I manually ran the above command some 60 or 80 times to free up about 200 GB of space on my 1 Terrabyte External Hard drive. However, I do not feel this is a satisfactory solution to prevent the problem from happening again in the future. Does anyone have a solution to prevent your Windows Server backup drive from getting full?

• Entity Framework SaveChanges error details

  When saving changes with SaveChanges on a data context is there a way to determine which Entity causes an error? For example, sometimes I'll forget to assign a date to a non-nullable date field and get "Invalid Date Range" error, but I get no information about which entity or which field it's caused by (I can usually track it down by painstakingly going through all my objects, but it's very time consuming). Stack trace is pretty useless as it only shows me an error at the SaveChanges call without any additional information as to where exactly it happened. Note that I'm not looking to solve any particular problem I have now, I would just like to know in general if there's a way to tell which entity/field is causing a problem. • jQuery "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected"

  I have the below code that does not seem to work at all :( I keep getting: Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object expected The error seems to occur when the timeout is done. So if I raise the timeout with 10 seconds the error holds for another 10 seconds. I want to be able to update the number of friends online async. The number is shown with the following html: <a href="" id="showChat" >Friends online <strong id="friendsOnline">(?)</strong></a> The friends part is set at the first run, but when the timeout calls back it does not fire again. Also, I cannot see on which line the error occurs because if I want to break on the error it just shows "no source code" etc. The code below is the code I'm using.   Hi All, I'm currently struggling with this "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute" issue. I have searched about this error message, and it's all related to the foreach statement. I do have the some foreach statements, but they are just simply representing the data. I did not using any remove or add inside the foreach statement. NOTE: The error randomly happens (about 4-5 times a day). The application is the MVC website. There are about 5 users operate this applications (about 150 orders a day). Could it be some another users modified the collection, and then occur this error? I have log4net setup and the settings can be found here Make sure that the controller has a parameterless public constructor I do have parameterless public constructor in AdminProductController Does anyone know why this happen and how to resolve this issue? A friend (Oskar) mentioned that "Theory: Maybe the problem is that your configuration and session factory is initialized on the first request after application restart. If a second request comes in before the first request is finished, maybe it will also try to initialize and then triggering this problem somehow." Many thanks. • VMware Workstation Error: Cannot find a valid peer process

  I am running VMware Workstation 6.1.5 (build-126130) on CentOS 5.3 (Final). One of the guest machines is reporting an error when I try to power on the most recent snapshot. Snapshots further back in the timeline will power on without any problem. Error: Unable to change virtual machine power state: Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to. Apparently I'm not the only one with this problem. Others have been reporting it since at least early 2005. The forums say to delete unused lock files and restart any hung VMware processes (or restart the host machine), which I have done. Still no luck. Any other ideas?

I have my XML properly download from my webserver with a URL pointing to the server's file, however, when I detect the network is 'unreachable' I simply point the URL to my application's local XML and I get the following error (N.B. the file is a direct copy of the one on the server). I cannot find detail description, but I think it is saying that the URL is pointing to an inaccessible location. Am I storing this resource in the wrong location? I think I want it in the HomeDirectory / Library?? This hasn't changed anything. Do I need to configure SQL Server 2005 Express differently for this environment? Is this error logged anywhere other than just the output from SQLCMD? • Getting a VMnet0 error in VMWare workstation after updating host computer from Windows 8 to 8.1

  Yesterday, I updated my computer from Windows 8 to 8.1. I have VMWare Workstation 10 running Windows XP on this computer and prior to the update I had no issues connecting to my network. However, since updating, I haven't been able to connect to any network and I'm getting the following error: "The network bridge on device VMnet0 is not running. The firtual machine will not be able to communicate with the host or with other machines on your network. Failed to connect virtual device Ethernet0" I've checked all of my settings which currently have my network adapter set for a bridged connection and under device status "connected" is checked. Not really sure where to go from here, but after doing some research I have seen that others users have reported getting this error when updating the OS (any OS, not windows 8 specifically) of the host computer. • Illustrator CS4: SVG Export error "Transforms are Expanded"?

  I get the following error when trying to save my image to SVG (via "Save Copy As"): Transforms are expanded. When I try to load the SVG in another program, all I get is a blank canvas. I ultimately want the path data to feed into RaphaelJS, but the path data that I got by clicking on the Show Code button during the SVG export also yields a blank canvas with RaphaelJS (and I've verified that RaphaelJS is loaded, and it is rendering properly). I'm convinced that this export error in Illustrator is the problem, but I can't figure out how to make it go away and export my SVG graphic properly. Can anyone help? Thanks!
