  • Python: mysqldb install error

    So i've been pulling my hair out trying to install the mysqldb package.   • How to ignore the .classpath for Eclipse projects using Mercurial?

    I'm trying to share a repository between my Mac (laptop) and PC (desktop). There are some external dependencies for the project that are stored on different places on each machine, and noted in the .classpath file in the Eclipse project. When the project changes are shared, the dependencies break. I'm trying to figure out how to keep this from happening. I've tried using .hgignore with the following settings, among others, without success: syntax: glob *.classpath Based on this question, it appears that the .hgignore file will not allow Mercurial to ignore files that are also committed to the repository. Is there another way around this? Other ways to configure the project to make it work?

  • How to resolve this PostgreSQL error on OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

    I followed the instructions for setting up postgresql from this site All seems to go fine until I try: createuser --superuser myname -U postgres I get the following exception: createuser: could not connect to database postgres: could not connect to server: No such file or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"? For the life of me I can't figure out how to resolve this. Any ideas???

    The config/environment.rb of my rails project contains this line: RAILS_GEM_VERSION = '>= 2.3.2' unless defined? RAILS_GEM_VERSION Which makes sure that only Rails of version 2.3.2 or greater will be used to run this app. Is there a way of specifying both the lower and the upper boundary at the same time? So that it would run, say, only on versions higher than 2.3.1 and lower than 2.3.6?

  • Mulltiple configurations in Qt

    Hi all! I'm new to Qt Creator and I have several questions regarding multiple build configurations. A side note: I have the QtCreator 1.3.1 installed on my Linux machine. I need to have two configurations in my Qt Creator project. The thing is that these aren't simply debug and release but are based on the target architecture - x86 or x64. I came across http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2259192/building-multiple-targets-in-qt-qmake and from that I went trying something like: Conf_x86 { TARGET = MyApp_x86 } Conf_x64 { TARGET = MyApp_x64 } This way however I don't seems to be able to use the Qt Creator IDE to build each of these separately (Build All, Rebuild All, etc. options from the IDE menu). Is there a way to achieve this - may be even show Conf_x86 and Conf_x64 as new build configurations in Qt Creator? One other thing the Qt I have is 64 bit so by default the target built using Qt Creator IDE will also be 64 bit. I noticed that the effective qmake call in the build step includes the following option '-spec linux-g++-64'. I also noticed that should I add '-spec linux-g++-32' in 'Additional arguments' it would override '-spec linux-g++-64' and the resulting target will be 32 bit. How can I achieve this by simply editing the contents of the .pro file? I saw that all these changes are initially saved in the .pro.user file but does doesn't suit me at all. I need to be able to make these configurations from the .pro file if possible. Any help will be appreciated. 10x in advance!

    I'm trying to install the Java Enterprise Edition 6 on my workstation. I downloaded the installer from the Sun website. Whenever I get to the option in the installer "JDK Selection" I'm told to manually select a JDK. I gave it my path (C:\IBM\rad7\jdk\), and was told it is invalid. What do I need to do to successfully install JEE6?

    I'm trying to make my c++ program detect installed fonts on my Win32 machine. I tried fontforge by taking the library from the GTK+ bundle. Unfortunately this test application only prints: "Total fonts: 0" I know there are fonts installed on my machine and I know that Gimp2.0 detects them, so there must be somthing wrong with my test code. Does anyone have any idea? Besides linking the fontconfig-1.dll I did nothing special. I haven't created any config files or anything, because I couldn't read anywhere about having to do that.   • svn for emacs: how do you set author name and save password

    I can't seem to find this on google anywhere. I am trying to move to emacs from eclipse but I can't for the life of me figure out how to set my svn author name so it doesn't default the author name OR save the password so I don't have to type it in any each time.   • Mercurial: How to ignore changes to a tracked file

    I have a file with database settings in my project which I have set to some defaults. The file is tracked by mercurial and checked in. Since this file will be edited with different values various developer machines, is there a way I can tell Mercurial to ignore new changes to this file? I tried adding the file to the .hgignore file, but since the file is tracked it isn't ignored. This is alright and good in other situations, but I am wondering if there is something I can do here.

  • Codeigniter return config file as array with autoload enabled

    So I'm using CodeIgniter to build a website and I've made it so that all my specific settings are stored in a config file that's automatically loaded. I've also built a page that loads the settings file, makes a nice little table and allows me to edit everything from that page, afterwards it saves the entire page again (I know I could've done the same with a database but I want to try it this way). My problem is that I can't seem to use this bit when autoloading of my config file is enabled, but when I disable autoloading I can't seem to manually load it, it never finds my variables.   • Reinstalling Debian Package -manager?

    I have had this problem for too long time: package-manager not working or very unstable, examples here. Now suppose my laptop has very little precious stuff. Is there some easy way to reinstall Debian -package-manager? I don't really have time to fix this problem so I am considering reinstallation of the OS, I have no idea what is causing this repetitive errors with the installers such as aptitude, pip and apt-get. How can I reinstall the package-managers? Perhaps related rebuilding packages and the package manager on debian

  • How do I reference SSIS on a build machine without installing SQL Server 2008 Client Tools?

    I need to build SSIS packages on a build machine, and do not want the overhead of installing SQL Server Management Studio on this machine. A SQL Server 2008 SDK would be ideal, but I could not find where to download it. The dlls I require are (for example): Microsoft.SQLServer.ManagedDTS Microsoft.SqlServer.PipelineHost Microsoft.SqlServer.DTSPipelineWrap Microsoft.SQLServer.DTSRuntimeWrap I could attempt to copy them to the build machine individually, but I would rather just use an SDK if possible. Where can I get the SDK, or alternatively, what suggestions are there?

    Hi, I have made two folders, res/layout and res/layout-land The output i got If I start the application in portrait mode, it will always use the xml in layout folder if the application run in portrait mode. And will not use xml in layout-land if i change the device to landscape mode If it start in landscape mode it only use the xml in layout-land The xml is not switching when the orientation change What i expect was It should use the xml in layout folder while it is in portrait mode and use the xml in layout-land while in landscape mode In the Manifest file i have added android:configChanges="orientation" for the activity and <supports-screens android:resizeable="true" android:largeScreens="true" android:normalScreens="true" android:anyDensity="true" /> Did i missed any thing here? What changes i need to do here? Thank You
