• Problem calling Java from PHP script

  I am working on windows. I am running PHP (5.1.3) scripts on Tomcat using PHP/Java bridge.   I am using the following xml to limit input to digits only in an EditText widget. The android:digits attribute uses the below array resource. Everything works great except for the fact that I can't enter the number 4 even though its in the array.   I'm using the following code and I'm getting an EXC_BAD_ACCESS when trying to get the count of objects - anyone have any idea why? Oddly enough, the error only happens if the count should be one or greater, if there are no objects it seems to work fine (it outputs null). • problem showing pictures stored outside web root folder

  On a website users can upload pictures. For security reasons these are stored outside the webroot (public_html) folder. When I need to display the picture, I send the headers and have "readfile" read and output the picture data, like so: header("Pragma: public"); header("Expires: 0"); // set expiration time header("Cache-Control: must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0"); header('Content-type: image/jpg'); header('Content-Length: ' . $filesize); readfile($path_url . '/' . $photo); This works great, but the site is growing and this is starting to be a burden on the server. Question: is there a way to send the picture or picture data to the user, without the server first having to load the picture (obviously with the picture still being stored outside the webroot folder)?   Hello, Normally we all do use using System.Linq; and using System.Data.Linq; for example on the code-behind and expect we can reach the members of these namespaces from Source Code like <%= Something.First()%> but when I wrote it, asp.net said it couldn't find First() in the context and I had to add <%@ Import Namespace="System.Linq" which looked very weird to me but it worked out. Since they are targeting at the same class why they both need separate namespace importing. Code-behind : using System; using System.Data.Linq; using System.Linq; using System.Text namespace Something { class Items : System.Web.UI { //... } } but also I need to add the same Linq namespace on the Html Source part <%@Import Namespace="System.Linq"%> Do I know something wrong or this is some kind of bug in asp.net. I thought when the page is compiling, asp.net combines these two classes and converts html source code into cs class and indicates the control in Control c= new Control(); hierarchy.   Hello All, I'm taking a discrete mathematics course, and I encountered a question and I need your help. I don't know if this is the right place for that though :) It says: Each user on a computer system has a password, which is six to eight characters long, where each character is an uppercase letter or a digit. Each password must contain at least one digit. How many possible passwords are there? The book solves this by adding the probabilities of having six,seven and eight characters long password. However, when he solves for probability of six characters he does this P6 = 36^6 - 26^6 and does P7 = 36^7 - 26^7 and P8 = 36^8 - 26^8 and then add them all I understand the solution, but my question is why doesn't calculating, P6 = 10*36^5 and the same for P7 and P8, work? 10 for the digit and 36 for the alphanumeric? Also, if anyone could give me another solution, other than the one in the book. Thank you very much :)

  So I am trying to create a producer/consumer type scala app. The LoopControl just sends a message to the MessageReceiver continoually. The MessageReceiver then delegates work to the MessageCreatorActor (whose work is to check a map for an object, and if not found create one and start it up). Each MessageActor created by this MessageCreatorActor is associated with an Id. Eventually this is where I want to do business logic. But I run out of memory after 15 minutes.   I'm using the following HTML code to autoselect some text in a form field when a user clicks on the field: input onfocus="this.select()" type="text" value="Search" This works fine in Firefox and Internet Explorer (the purpose being to use the default text to describe the field to the user, but highlight it so that on click they can just start typing), but I'm having trouble getting it to work in Chrome. When I click the form field in Chrome the text is highlighted for just a split second and then the cursor jumps to the end of the default text and the highlighting goes away. Any ideas on how to get this working in Chrome as well?

• Problem with ColdFusion communicating with MySQL database

  Hi, I have been working to migrate a non-profit website from a local server (running Windows XP) to a GoDaddy hosting account (running Linux). Most of the pages are written in ColdFusion. Things have gone smoothly, up until this point. There is a flash form within the site (see this page: http://www.preservenet.cornell.edu/employ/submitjob.cfm) which, when completed, takes the visitor to this page: submitjobaction.cfm . I'm not quite sure what to make of this error, since I copied exactly what had been in the old MySQL database, and the .cfm files are exactly as they had been when they worked on the old server. Am I missing something? Below is the code from the database that the error seems to be referring to. When I change "Positionlat" to some default value in the database as it suggests in the error, it says that another field needs a default value, and it's a neverending chain of errors as I try to correct it. This is probably a stupid error that I'm missing, but I've been working at it for days and can't find what I'm missing. I would really appreciate any help.   Hey I installed the Asp.net Ajax toolkit. In my site I use the NummericUpDown from that toolkit. Now, I want that a label changes when the NummericUpDown Textboxes changes. • Problem with View - it does not refresh after db update

  Hi, I am working with small ASP.NET MVC project - online store. I have addToCart method which adds selected product to cart - it updates cart table in my db and showing cart view with its content. But I have problems. While db is updating correctly the view does not. I see that quantity of the product in my db is incremented correctly but quantity in view is not changed. I have to stop debugging my app in visual studia and restart it - then my view is showing correct data. What can be wrong?

• Encoding Problem with Zend Navigation using Zend Translate Spanish in XMLTPX File Special Characters

  Hello, I have been attempting to use Zend Translate to display translated menu items to the user. It works fine until I introduce special characters into the translation files. I instantiate the Zend_Translate object in my bootstrap and pass it in as a translator into Zend_Navigation: $translate = new Zend_Translate( array('adapter' => 'tmx', 'content' => APPLICATION_PATH .'/languages/translation.tmx', 'locale' => 'es' ) ); $navigation->setUseTranslator($translate); I have used several different adapters (array,tmx) in order to see if that made a difference. The menu item display correctly and all is joyful. The thing is, I do not want to modify the library. • Jquery display image problem

  Hello, I have PHP page where users can upload photos (using Ajax & PHP script). Those uploaded photos (thumbs) are shown after upload in DIV below upload field. Then, after hitting send button I want to clone that DIV at that same page at message board, bellow other messages with or without uploaded photos. When I try to do that with: var pht = $("#photos").clone().addClass('p_pht'); and try to display sent photos bellow sent message like this: $("div#wall").append('<div class=msg>'+ message +'</div><div class=n_pht>'+ pht +'</div>'); I get Jquery error message "[object Object]" in place where the photos should be displaying. What am I doing wrong?
