• Jquery interactive table - multiple instance problem

  Hello forgive me if i use the wrong terminology and the messiness of this code it is the first time I have used jquery. I am making an interactive table-product selector. Compatible systems run along the top and colour choices down the left. The table works by seeing if there is a cell is empty in a html table. If the cell is empty then that is a compatible system and a circle image is in that cell and it is selectable. When selected the product code is generated (by looking at the colour value and system name) and the relevant resource download pack can be downloaded. This works 'fine' when on its own on a page however when I have multiple instances of it on one page they interfere with each other. Only the first one works and clicking in the 2nd 3rd etc table updates the first one. I need these to function independant of each other.   is there any way to "wait for user action on popupmenu" after an element is clicked ? for example: person A clicks on link. javascript menu popups asking what the user would like to do with this link. user should not be allowed to click anywhere else but the popup menu. after user clicks an action on the menu, the default browser action should happen (ie. link to the next page)

• I can't clear the SELECT list with "selectedIndex = -1" in Internet Explorer 8

  hi :) after an hour of trying to find a solution, I give up (temporarily). "this.selectedIndex = -1" clears all select element just fine in FF and other browsers, but NOT in Internet Explorer 8. any idea how to clear select elements in IE? thanks!

  Hello, I am quite new to this so any help is very much appreciated. I am generating a modal pop using Simple Modal, this works ok. I now want to add jquery autocomplete to the element txtEmail. When I run the page outside of Simple Modal I can use Autocomplete, however when the page is loaded through Simple Modal it does not work. I have checked to ensure the element is loaded, and it is allowing me to change the text color, but I can not add autocomplete to it. • jQuery validation plugin for two fields

  I am using the Jquery Validation plug-in, however i need to add a "custom rule", i have 2 date fields and i need to ensure that the end date is not less than the start date. My problem is how to pass the two fields in as elements. As i understand u set up a custom function something like this : function customValidationMethod(value, element, params){ } But can't see how i could use it with two fields, if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
