• Unable to convert file to UTF-8

  I am on windows xp sp3 and I am trying to convert a file from ASCII to UTF-8. I use notepad++ to do this. I go to Encoding Convert to UTF-8 without BOM. I save the file, reopen and it is still on ASCII. I am using this file in a webpage and I need the file to be UTF-8, because I have strings in utf-8 and they am seeing little squares with ? on them.

  I have some encrypted pdf files that have no problem and in my last windows, I could open them easily with Adobe Reader 9.2 and other pdf readers. But now, I can only open non-encrypted pdf files and one encrypted file with Adobe Reader. every time I open almost any encrypted pdf, it closes itself. Also, when I try to search a folder for a keyword with Foxit Reader, once it closed. This is not related to Adobe Reader, because I have the same problem with Word 2007. When I open a document, sometimes it closes instantly and sometimes it closes after a few seconds and sometimes it is stable. My windows is Fresh. I have installed it a few days ago. I have ESET Smart Security 5.2 and I have updated it today. • HDD Producing high pithched beep noise

  Recently I had an upgrade on one of my PC I added a 512Mb Nvidia Graphic card and 500GB seagate 7200Rpm HDD, Now the new HDD is producing a high pitched squeek/beep i cant really tell and on reboot my XP sector 63 gets corrupted, so I get reboot error. I gave the HDD for replacement but the replaced one too makes the noice, yet the HDD does not produce sound on my gaming rig.

• Losing connection when watching flash videos

  Whenever I play a flash video on my browser (whichever I use, Chrome, Firefox or IE), there's a risk that I lose my Internet connection. I know it's limited to my computer only as my roommates are unaffected. I'm the only one that loses connection. Using Internet Explorer's diagnosis tool always repairs the connection, but it's annoying as hell. My OS is Windows XP, if that matters. Anyone knows what may be causing this and how to fix it?

  I have an odd issue with a Netgear WIFI router, 4 computers, 2 pc laptops with XP and 7 installed, one macbook pro and one older mac mini. With security off everything can connect to the wifi. With WPA-Security on only the macs can connect to the wifi. I've reset the Netgear router, done everything again from scratch, no deal. The PCs just can't connect.

• Can Airport Extremes handle NTFS external drives?

  I've got an Airport Extreme and an external USB Hard Drive formatted with NTFS. (And a LAN of Windows XP Machines.) The drive works perfectly when connected directly to a PC. When it's connected to the AE, however, the Airport Utility sees the drive and lists it in the Disks list, but the drive doesn't appear on the network (as near as I can tell.) Can the AE handle NTFS formatted disks? The documentation is vague on that point.

  I wonder if we can force notepad++ to respect the previous whitespace character when it autoindents a new line: list[CR][LF] ····item1[CR][LF] ····item2[CR][LF] --->| (notepadd++ screenshot recreation showing hidden characters, because I don't have enough reputation to post images, sorry xP) If I am indenting with tabs I want a tab when notepad++ does an autoindent. But if I am indenting with spaces, I do want spaces.
