  • .pam_environment in kerberized nfs4 home directory

    - by Paul Stoever
How can I get pam_env to read the user's .pam_environment file, if the user's file is located in a kerberized NFS4 mount? The file and directory permissions for the .pam_environment file are set in a way, that allows the local root to read the file. Reading .pam_environment only fails on the first login. Subsequent logins successfully read the file. The client uses Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop, NFS/Kerberos server is 12.04 Server. The Kerberos/NFS4 stuff works with exception of this. From /var/log/auth for first login: ... lightdm: pam_krb5(lightdm:auth): user USERNAME authenticated as USERNAME@REALM lightdm: pam_unix(lightdm:session): session closed for user lightdm lightdm: pam_env(lightdm:setcred): Unable to open config file: USERHOME/.pam_environment: Permission denied lightdm: pam_env(lightdm:setcred): Unable to open config file: USERHOME/.pam_environment: Permission denied lightdm: pam_unix(lightdm:session): session opened for user USERNAME by (uid=0) ...

  • Installed fprint, can't login anymore

    - by Otto
Tried Fprint, was stupid enough not to backup the common-auth file before changing it. Somehow I'm locked out of the system, trying to fingerscan doesn't do any difference. Even when I've done it 5 times and it asks for password, when it asks for password and I write it in and it says that it's the wrong password. I use the same password for root as for my user. Tried to go into Recovery Mode - root - sudo nano /etc/pam.d/common-auth and remove the rows saying that you need the fingerprint to login, but when I try to overwrite, it says the file is read only, even when I try to open it with root. I have a lot of schoolwork files and programs on the system, so I can't afford losing them. Help?

  • how to fix error when authenticating in U1

    - by Yann
Like other users, when authenticating in U1 I get this error: Method "CreateItem" with signature "a{sv}(oayay)b" on interface "org.freedesktop.Secret.Collection" doesn't exist. And in /var/log/auth.log: gnome-keyring-daemon[4793]: egg_symkey_generate_simple: assertion `iterations >= 1' failed gnome-keyring-daemon[4793]: couldn't prepare to write out keyring: /home/yann/.gnome2/keyrings/login_1.keyring So I tried to move "login.keyring". I typed no password for the security when logging into U1, accepted non secured way to save passwords. And a message told me the operation successfully completed (in French). But, sync did not work. And u1sdtool --status returned this: State: AUTH_FAILED connection: With User With Network description: auth failed is_connected: False is_error: True is_online: False queues: WORKING I'm sorry U1 doesn't work anymore; it was really useful to me. Can you help me ? Ubuntu 11.10

  • Test Driven Development Code Order

    - by Bobby Kostadinov
I am developing my first project using test driven development. I am using Zend Framework and PHPUnit. Currently my project is at 100% code coverage but I am not sure I understand in what order I am supposed to write my code. Am I supposed to write my test FIRST with what my objects are expected to do or write my objects and then test them? Ive been working on completing a controller/model and then writing at test for it but I am not sure this is what TDD is about? Any advice? For example, I wrote my Auth plugin and my Auth controller and tested that they work properly in my browser, and then I sat down to write the tests for them, which proved that there were some logical errors in the code that did work in the browser.

  • Software Center won't take into account my changed OpenID name: any idea?

    - by Pascal Av
Failing to install IntelliJ from the Software Center, I realized my login is wrong in the /etc/apt/auth.conf entry that the install process generates. In this file, I see my original OpenID, that's the one which got automatically generated when signing up on Launchpad. It contains my last name so I changed it. I purged conf and binaries for Ubuntu One, reinstalled, deleted all listed "Devices" from app, all "Applications" from Launchpad. Deleted ~/.cache/software-center/, reboot, but still: When installing IntelliJ, the auth.conf file receives my original OpenID, not the modified one Problem is that the commercial subscription, for IntelliJ private PPA, uses my modified OpenID, so authentication attempt fails. I can't remove nor modify this subscription, even by changing back my OpenID into Launchpad. Any idea to solve this?

  • Problem with Java Mail : No provider for smtp

    - by user359198
Hello all. I am using JavaMail to do a simple application that sends an email when it finds some files in a directory. I managed to get it worked from Eclipse. I Run the application and it sent the email with no errors. But, when I created the jar, and executed it, it fails in the email sending part. It gives this exception. javax.mail.NoSuchProviderException: No provider for smtp at javax.mail.Session.getProvider(Session.java:460) at javax.mail.Session.getTransport(Session.java:655) at javax.mail.Session.getTransport(Session.java:636) at main.java.util.MailManager.sendMail(MailManager.java:69) at main.java.DownloadsMail.composeAndSendMail(DownloadsMail.java:16) at main.java.DownloadsController.checkDownloads(DownloadsController.java:51) at main.java.MainDownloadsController.run(MainDownloadsController.java:26) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) I am using the library in this method: public static boolean sendMail(String subject, String text){ noExceptionsThrown = true; try { loadProperties(); } catch (IOException e1) { System.out.println("Problem encountered while loading properties"); e1.printStackTrace(); noExceptionsThrown = false; } Properties mailProps = new Properties(); String host = "mail.smtp.host"; mailProps.setProperty(host, connectionProps.getProperty(host)); String tls = "mail.smtp.starttls.enable"; mailProps.setProperty(tls, connectionProps.getProperty(tls)); String port = "mail.smtp.port"; mailProps.setProperty(port, connectionProps.getProperty(port)); String user = "mail.smtp.user"; mailProps.setProperty(user, connectionProps.getProperty(user)); String auth = "mail.smtp.auth"; mailProps.setProperty(auth, connectionProps.getProperty(auth)); Session session = Session.getDefaultInstance(mailProps); //session.setDebug(true); MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage(session); try { message.setFrom(new InternetAddress(messageProps.getProperty("from"))); message.addRecipient(Message.RecipientType.TO, new InternetAddress( messageProps.getProperty("to"))); message.setSubject(subject); message.setText(text); Transport t = session.getTransport("smtp"); try { t.connect(connectionProps.getProperty("user"), passwordProps .getProperty("password")); t.sendMessage(message, message.getAllRecipients()); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("Error encountered while sending the email"); e.printStackTrace(); noExceptionsThrown = false; } finally { t.close(); } } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("Error encountered while creating the message"); e.printStackTrace(); noExceptionsThrown = false; } return noExceptionsThrown; } I am loading these values from properties files. mail.smtp.host=smtp.gmail.com mail.smtp.starttls.enable=true mail.smtp.port=587 mail.smtp.auth=true I have tried to change the host by ssl://smtp.gmail.com, the port by 465 (just for trying something different), but it doesn't work either. Anyway, if it works fine from Eclipse with the original parameters, I guess that the values are correct, but the problem is creating the jar. I don't know very much about the possible results or changes when creating a jar. Could the JavaMail libraries someway go wrong when the jar is created? Do you have any ideas? Thank you very much for your help.

  • JavaMail not sending Subject or From under jetty:run-war

    - by Jason Thrasher
Has anyone seen JavaMail not sending proper MimeMessages to an SMTP server, depending on how the JVM in started? At the end of the day, I can't send JavaMail SMTP messages with Subject: or From: fields, and it appears other headers are missing, only when running the app as a war. The web project is built with Maven and I'm testing sending JavaMail using a browser and a simple mail.jsp to debug and see different behavior when launching the app with: 1) mvn jetty:run (mail sends fine, with proper Subject and From fields) 2) mvn jetty:run-war (mail sends fine, but missing Subject, From, and other fields) I've meticulously run diff on the (verbose) Maven debug output (-X), and there are zero differences in the runtime dependencies between the two. I've also compared System properties, and they are identical. Something else is happening the jetty:run-war case that changes the way JavaMail behaves. What other stones need turning? Curiously, I've tried a debugger in both situations and found that the javax.mail.internet.MimeMessage instance is getting created differently. The webapp is using Spring to send email picked off of an Apache ActiveMQ queue. When running the app as mvn jetty:run the MimeMessage.contentStream variable is used for message content. When running as mvn jetty:run-war, the MimeMessage.content variable is used for the message contents, and the content = ASCIIUtility.getBytes(is); call removes all of the header data from the parsed content. Since this seemed very odd, and debugging Spring/ActiveMQ is a deep dive, I created a simplified test without any of that infrastructure: just a JSP using mail-1.4.2.jar, yet the same headers are missing. Also of note, these headers are missing when running the WAR file under Tomcat 5.5.27. Tomcat behaves just like Jetty when running the WAR, with the same missing headers. With JavaMail debugging turned on, I clearly see different output. GOOD CASE: In the jetty:run (non-WAR) the log output is: DEBUG: JavaMail version 1.4.2 DEBUG: successfully loaded resource: /META-INF/javamail.default.providers DEBUG: Tables of loaded providers DEBUG: Providers Listed By Class Name: {com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSSLTransport=javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtps,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSSLTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport=javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtp,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPSSLStore=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imaps,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPSSLStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3SSLStore=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,pop3s,com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3SSLStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imap,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3Store=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,pop3,com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3Store,Sun Microsystems, Inc]} DEBUG: Providers Listed By Protocol: {imaps=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imaps,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPSSLStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], imap=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,imap,com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], smtps=javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtps,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSSLTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc], pop3=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,pop3,com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3Store,Sun Microsystems, Inc], pop3s=javax.mail.Provider[STORE,pop3s,com.sun.mail.pop3.POP3SSLStore,Sun Microsystems, Inc], smtp=javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtp,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc]} DEBUG: successfully loaded resource: /META-INF/javamail.default.address.map DEBUG: getProvider() returning javax.mail.Provider[TRANSPORT,smtp,com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPTransport,Sun Microsystems, Inc] DEBUG SMTP: useEhlo true, useAuth true DEBUG SMTP: trying to connect to host "mail.authsmtp.com", port 465, isSSL false 220 mail.authsmtp.com ESMTP Sendmail 8.14.2/8.14.2/Kp; Thu, 18 Jun 2009 01:35:24 +0100 (BST) DEBUG SMTP: connected to host "mail.authsmtp.com", port: 465 EHLO jmac.local 250-mail.authsmtp.com Hello sul-pubs-3a.Stanford.EDU [171.66.201.2], pleased to meet you 250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES 250-PIPELINING 250-8BITMIME 250-SIZE 52428800 250-AUTH CRAM-MD5 DIGEST-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN 250-DELIVERBY 250 HELP DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "PIPELINING", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "8BITMIME", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "SIZE", arg "52428800" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "AUTH", arg "CRAM-MD5 DIGEST-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "DELIVERBY", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Found extension "HELP", arg "" DEBUG SMTP: Attempt to authenticate DEBUG SMTP: check mechanisms: LOGIN PLAIN DIGEST-MD5 AUTH LOGIN 334 VXNlcm5hjbt7 YWM0MDkwhi== 334 UGFzc3dvjbt7 YXV0aHNtdHAydog3 235 2.0.0 OK Authenticated DEBUG SMTP: use8bit false MAIL FROM:<[email protected]> 250 2.1.0 <[email protected]>... • Dovecot install: what does this error mean?

    - by jamie
I have postfix and dovecot installed on CentOS 6 (linode) along with MySQL. The table and user is already set up, postfix installed fine, but dovecot gives me this error in the mail log: Warning: Killed with signal 15 (by pid=9415 uid=0 code=kill) The next few lines say this: Apr 7 16:13:35 dovecot: master: Dovecot v2.0.9 starting up (core dumps disabled) Apr 7 16:13:35 dovecot: config: Warning: NOTE: You can get a new clean config file with: doveconf -n > dovecot-new.conf Apr 7 16:13:35 dovecot: config: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:1: protocols=pop3s is no longer supported. to disable non-ssl pop3, use service pop3-login { inet_listener pop3 { p$ Apr 7 16:13:35 dovecot: config: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:5: ssl_cert_file has been replaced by ssl_cert = <file Apr 7 16:13:35 dovecot: config: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:6: ssl_key_file has been replaced by ssl_key = <file Apr 7 16:13:35 dovecot: config: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:8: namespace private {} has been replaced by namespace { type=private } Apr 7 16:13:35 dovecot: config: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:24: add auth_ prefix to all settings inside auth {} and remove the auth {} section completely Apr 7 16:13:35 dovecot: config: Warning: Obsolete setting in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf:25: auth_user has been replaced by service auth { user } I am following directions for the install on CentOS 5 with changes in the dovecot.conf file from different sources specific to CentOS 6. So the dovecot.conf file might not be correct, but there is no good source I have found yet for making dovecot install correctly. Can anyone tell me what the error above means? The terminal does not give any message as to start OK or FAIL. When I issue the service dovecot start command, it says: Starting Dovecot Imap: and nothing more.

  • Unable to receive any emails using postfix, dovecot, mysql, and virtual domain/mailboxes

    - by stkdev248
I have been working on configuring my mail server for the last couple of weeks using postfix, dovecot, and mysql. I have one virtual domain and a few virtual mailboxes. Using squirrelmail I have been able to log into my accounts and send emails out (e.g. I can send to googlemail just fine), however I am not able to receive any emails--not from the outside world nor from within my own network. I am able to telnet in using localhost, my private ip, and my public ip on port 25 without any problems (I've tried it from the server itself and from another computer on my network). This is what I get in my logs when I send an email from my googlemail account to my mail server: mail.log Apr 14 07:36:06 server1 postfix/qmgr[1721]: BE01B520538: from=, size=733, nrcpt=1 (queue active) Apr 14 07:36:06 server1 postfix/pipe[3371]: 78BC0520510: to=, relay=dovecot, delay=45421, delays=45421/0/0/0.13, dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred (temporary failure. • Nginx with PAM authentication through pam_script

    - by Envek
Have anyone set up such a configuration? It's not work for me. So, I've installed nginx-extras on Ubuntu 12.04 (it's built with PAM module), and write to site config: location ^~ /restricted_place/ { auth_pam "Please specify login and password from main_site"; auth_pam_service_name "nginx"; } Afterwards, in /etc/pam.d/nginx: auth required pam_script.so dir=/path/to/my/auth_scripts And wrote simplest /path/to/my/auth_scripts/pam_script_auth (also I've tried to write complicated scripts) #!/bin/sh exit 0 # should allow anyone Doesn't work. The script is launched (I've wrote full functional script, that successfully executes, check credentials, writes to its own log and returns correct exit code, and executes noticeably long). But no access granted. Only rejected. In /var/log/nginx/error.log appears next record: 2012/09/13 10:44:42 [alert] 1666#0: waitpid() failed (10: No child processes) If I'm specify in /etc/pam.d/nginx: auth required pam_unix.so and grant for www-data user right to read /etc/shadow, unix authorization works fine. But script auth doesn't work. Can't understand, where is trouble. In nginx module, or in pam_script module.

  • Why an empty MAIL FROM address can sent out email?

    - by garconcn
We are using Smarter Mail system. Recently, we found that hacker had hacked some user accounts and sent out lots of spams. We have firewall to ratelimit the sender, but for the following email, the firewall couldn't do this because of the empty FROM address. Why an empty FROM address is consider OK? Actually, in our MTA(surgemail), we can see the sender in the email header. Any idea? • Active Directory LDAP and user issues (using apache2 for svn access)

    - by CaCl
I currently have a setup where I work that lets users use their active directory domain logins and passwords to authenticate and authorize access to Subversion. Currently I need to allow application accounts the same access. So our IT group creates application accounts in the active directory for us to use. But they want to be "secure" so they set the "Workstations Allowed" to be only a limited number of workstations. So when an application account hits the apache2 server for authentication they can't login for some reason and I'm having a heck of a time trying to debug. The error logs only show me: [Tue Apr 06 11:24:25 2010] [warn] [client 24.24.24.24] [3469] auth_ldap authenticate: user appuser13 authentication failed; URI /svn [ldap_simple_bind_s() to check user credentials failed][Invalid credentials] [Tue Apr 06 11:24:25 2010] [error] [client 24.24.24.24] user appuser13: authentication failure for "/svn": Password Mismatch I've checked the password numerous times and it appears to be correct but I can't seem to get the user to authenticate properly. • Problems with connecting Thunderbird client to dovecot installed on Ubuntu

I am trying to connect a Thunderbird client to my dovecot server. The dovecot is installed on Ubuntu. I know that my server works (at least partially), since when I send a mail to a user in the server ([email protected]), I see the new file created in /home/feedback/Maildir/new. I'm trying to setup passwordless SSH access. My username is bmccann, so in /etc/ssh/sshd_config I added: PermitRootLogin no PasswordAuthentication no AllowUsers bmccann nx I ran ssh-keygen on the client and put ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub from the client into ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on the server. • Dovecot unable to perform mysql query

    - by NathanJ2012
    I have been following the ISPMail tutorials on workaround.org (the 2.9 Wheezy version) and thus far everything has been working fine. When I reached the step to "Testing email delivery" step I noticed a error about the query in the output log from /var/log/mail.log. May 14 06:48:59 mail postfix/pickup[17704]: EA4AD240A98: uid=0 from=<root> May 14 06:48:59 mail postfix/cleanup[17776]: EA4AD240A98: message-id=<[email protected]> May 14 06:48:59 mail postfix/qmgr[17706]: EA4AD240A98: from=<[email protected]>, size=429, nrcpt=1 (queue active) May 14 06:49:00 mail dovecot: auth-worker(17782): mysql(127.0.0.1): Connected to database mailserver May 14 06:49:00 mail dovecot: auth-worker(17782): Warning: mysql: Query failed, retrying: Table 'mailserver.users' doesn't exist May 14 06:49:00 mail dovecot: auth-worker(17782): Error: sql([email protected]): User query failed: Table 'mailserver.users' doesn't exist (using built-in default user_query: SELECT home, uid, gid FROM users WHERE username = '%n' AND domain = '%d') May 14 06:49:00 mail dovecot: lda([email protected]): msgid=<[email protected]>: saved mail to INBOX May 14 06:49:00 mail postfix/pipe[17780]: EA4AD240A98: to=<[email protected]>, relay=dovecot, delay=0.09, delays=0.03/0.01/0/0.06, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered via dovecot service) May 14 06:49:00 mail postfix/qmgr[17706]: EA4AD240A98: removed I found this rather interesting that it isn't finding the DB so I went back through and checked EVERY file that I touched that involved the DB (including the postfix cf files) and everything is correct so I am baffled at this point, but oddly enough it would seem the email still made it to the correct destination in /var/vmail/domain.com/. Should I be worried about this or am I missing something here? Since it is a message from dovecot it would be the query from dovecot-sql.conf.ext which I am including here driver = mysql connect = host=127.0.0.1 dbname=mailserver user=blocked password=***REMOVED*** default_pass_scheme = PLAIN-MD5 password_query = SELECT email as user, password FROM virtual_users WHERE email='%u';

  • publickey authentication only works with existing ssh session

    - by aaron
publickey authentication only works for me if I've already got one ssh session open. I am trying to log into a host running Ubuntu 10.10 desktop with publickey authentication, and it fails when I first log in: [me@my-laptop:~]$ ssh -vv host ... debug1: Next authentication method: publickey debug1: Offering public key: /Users/me/.ssh/id_rsa ... debug2: we did not send a packet, disable method debug1: Next authentication method: password me@hosts's password: And the /var/log/auth.log output: Jan 16 09:57:11 host sshd[1957]: reverse mapping checking getaddrinfo for cpe-70-114-155-20.austin.res.rr.com [70.114.155.20] failed - POSSIBLE BREAK-IN ATTEMPT! [me@host:~]$ And the /var/log/auth.log output is: Jan 16 09:59:11 host sshd[2061]: reverse mapping checking getaddrinfo for cpe-70-114-155-20.austin.res.rr.com [70.114.155.20] failed - POSSIBLE BREAK-IN ATTEMPT! NOTE: When I installed Ubuntu 10.10, I checked the 'encrypt home folder' option. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the log message "Error attempting to add filename encryption key to user session keyring"

Hello, Something (Someone) is sending out UDP packets sent from our whole ip range. This seems to be multicast DNS. • How to get nginx to pass HTTP_AUTHORIZATION header to Apache

    - by codeinthehole
Am using Nginx as a reverse proxy to an Apache server that uses HTTP Auth. For some reason, I can't get the HTTP_AUTHORIZATION header through to Apache, it seems to get filtered out by Nginx. Hence, no requests can authenticate. Note that the Basic auth is dynamic so I don't want to hard-code it in my nginx config. My nginx config is: server { listen 80; server_name example.co.uk ; access_log /var/log/nginx/access.cdk-dev.tangentlabs.co.uk.log; gzip on; proxy_set_header Host $host; proxy_set_header X-Real-IP $remote_addr; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_read_timeout 120; location / { proxy_pass http://localhost:81/; } location ~* \.(jpg|png|gif|jpeg|js|css|mp3|wav|swf|mov|doc|xls|ppt|docx|pptx|xlsx|swf)$ { if (!-f $request_filename) { break; proxy_pass http://localhost:81; } root /var/www/example; } } Anyone know why this is happening? Update - turns out the problem was something I had overlooked in my original question: mod_wsgi. The site in question here is a Django site, and it turns out that Apache does get the auth variables passed through, however mod_wsgi filters them out. The resolution is to use: WSGIPassAuthorization On See http://www.arnebrodowski.de/blog/508-Django,-mod_wsgi-and-HTTP-Authentication.html for more details

  • How can I prevent Apache from asking for credentials on non SSL site

    - by Scott
I have a web server with several virtual hosts. Some of those hosts have an associated ssl site. I have a DirectoryMatch directive in my main config file which requires basic authentication to any directory with secured as part of the directory path. On sites that have an SSL site, I have a rewrite rule (located in the non ssl config for that site), that redirects to the SSL site, same uri. The problem is the http (80) site asks for credentials first, and then the https (443) site asks for credentials again. I would like to prevent the http site from asking and thus avoid the potential for someone entering credentials and having them sent in clear text. I know I could move the DirectoryMatch down to the specific site, and just put the auth statement in the SSL config, but that would introduce the possibility of forgetting to protect critical directories when creating new sites. Here are the pertinent declarations: httpd.conf (all sites): <DirectoryMatch "_secured_"> AuthType Basic AuthName "+ + + Restrcted Area on Server + + +" AuthUserFile /home/websvr/.auth/std.auth Require valid-user </DirectoryMatch> site.conf (specific to individual site) <DirectoryMatch "_secured_"> RewriteEngine On RewriteRule .*(_secured_.*) https://site.com/$1 </DirectoryMatch> Is there a way to leave DirectoryMatch in the main config file and prevent the request for authorization from the http site? Running Apache 2 on Ubuntu 10.04 server from the default package. I have AllowOverride set to none - I prefer to handle things in the config files instead of .htaccess.
