  • Duplicate django query set?

    - by Piotr Czapla
I have a simple django's query set like: qs = AModel.objects.exclude(state="F").order_by("order") I'd like to use it as follows: qs[0:3].update(state='F') expected = qs[3] # throws error here But last statement throws: "Cannot update a query once a slice has been taken." How can I duplicate the query set?

  • Break out of jQtouch?

    - by Kelso.b
I'm trying to give my mobile users the choice to view the full website by loading a different page. Thing is, jQtouch thoughtfully transforms links into ajax calls, so the user doesn't leave the page at all. Is there some way to break out of jQt or exclude certain links from loading ajaxically?

  • Maven2 not compiling source

    - by Grep
Hi, I am new to Maven2 and have been having an issue with the compiling of the source for a RAR. Maven currently copies all the information located at my sourceDirectory instead of compiling it even though the console states that the source is being compiled. If I navigate to the sourceDirectory I find all my source files with no compiled class files. I have tried changing my outputDirectory to a different location and when I inspect this directory I find that it only copied my source files instead of compiling them. I have added an example of my POM. Any advice would be appreciated and please keep in mind I have only started learning/implementing Maven2 yesterday :) <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <project xmlns="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://maven.apache.org/POM/4.0.0 http://maven.apache.org/maven-v4_0_0.xsd"> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion> <artifactId>MyApp</artifactId> <groupId>.</groupId> <version>4</version> <packaging>rar</packaging> <name>MyApp rar</name> <build> <directory>target\${artifactId}-${version}</directory> <resources> <resource> <directory>..\gen-src</directory> <excludes> <exclude>util.jar</exclude> </excludes> </resource> <resource> <directory>..\domain</directory> </resource> </resources> <sourceDirectory>target\${artifactId}-${version}</sourceDirectory> <plugins> <plugin> <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-rar-plugin</artifactId> <configuration> <workDirectory>target\${artifactId}-${version}\classes</workDirectory> <outputDirectory>target</outputDirectory> <finalName>MyApp${version}</finalName> <raXmlFile>${workDirectory}\META-INF\ra.xml</raXmlFile> </configuration> </plugin> </plugins> </build> </project>

  • How to determine if a .NET Type is a custom struct?

    - by SztupY
Hi! How to write a simple method, that checks whether a concrete type is a custom struct (created with public struct { };) or not. Checking Type.IsValueType is not enough, because it is also true to int, long, etc, and adding a check to !IsPrimitiveType won't exclude decimal, DateTime and maybe some other value types. I know that most of the built in value types are actually "structs", but I only want to check for "custom structs" These questions are mostly the same but without the answer I need: #1 #2 #3

  • UNIX find for finding file names NOT ending in specific extensions?

    - by Cristi Diaconescu
Is there a simple way to recursively find all files in a directory hierarchy, that do not end in a list of extensions? E.g. all files that are not *.dll or *.exe UNIX/GNU find, powerful as it is, doesn't seem to have an exclude mode (or I'm missing it), and I've always found it hard to use regular expressions to find things that don't match a particular expression. I'm in a Windows environment (using the GnuWin32 port of most GNU tools), so I'm equally open for Windows-only solutions.

  • Hide public method used to help test a .NET assembly

    - by ChrisW
I have a .NET assembly, to be released. Its release build includes: A public, documented API of methods which people are supposed to use A public but undocumented API of other methods, which exist only in order to help test the assembly, and which people are not supposed to use The assembly to be released is a custom control, not an application. To regression-test it, I run it in a testing framework/application, which uses (in addition to the public/documented API) some advanced/undocumented methods which are exported from the control. For the public methods which I don't want people to use, I excluded them from the documentation using the <exclude> tag (supported by the Sandcastle Help File Builder), and the [EditorBrowsable] attribute, for example like this: /// <summary> /// Gets a <see cref="IEditorTransaction"/> instance, which helps /// to combine several DOM edits into a single transaction, which /// can be undone and redone as if they were a single, atomic operation. /// </summary> /// <returns>A <see cref="IEditorTransaction"/> instance.</returns> IEditorTransaction createEditorTransaction(); /// <exclude/> [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] void debugDumpBlocks(TextWriter output); This successfully removes the method from the API documentation, and from Intellisense. However, if in a sample application program I right-click on an instance of the interface to see its definition in the metadata, I can still see the method, and the [EditorBrowsable] attribute as well, for example: // Summary: // Gets a ModelText.ModelDom.Nodes.IEditorTransaction instance, which helps // to combine several DOM edits into a single transaction, which can be undone // and redone as if they were a single, atomic operation. // // Returns: // A ModelText.ModelDom.Nodes.IEditorTransaction instance. IEditorTransaction createEditorTransaction(); // [EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never)] void debugDumpBlocks(TextWriter output); Questions: Is there a way to hide a public method, even from the meta data? If not then instead, for this scenario, would you recommend making the methods internal and using the InternalsVisibleTo attribute? Or would you recommend some other way, and if so what and why? Thank you.

  • Conditionally compiling entire namespaces - C#

    - by Filip K
Hi there, I was wondering if there is a way to conditionally compile entire namespaces in C#. Or am I left with having to explicitly decorate each source file within the namespace with the preprocessor directives to exclude it? In sub-versions of my application the code in various namespace is simply not required and I would like it excluded. Thanks in advance!

  • What is faster in MySQL? WHERE sub request = 0 or IN list

    - by Nicolas Manzini
Hello I was wondering what is better in MySQL. I have a SELECT querry that exclude every entry associated to a banned userID currently I have a subquerry clause in the WHERE statement that goes like AND (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TheBlackListTable WHERE userID = userList.ID AND blackListedID = :userID2 ) = 0 Which will accept every userID not present in the TheBlackListTable Would it be faster to retrieve first all Banned ID in a previous request and replace the previous clause by AND creatorID NOT IN listOfBannedID Thank you!

  • excluding posts in Wordpress

    - by Ayrton
I wondered how I could exclude posts in Wordpress. E.g. I have a string $exclude_ids (= "4,5,6") or (="-4,-5,-6") and I would like to prevent these posts from showing up. How would I do that? I already tried: query_posts('p=' . $exclude_ids); but that didn't really work out and I didn't really find any information regarding this topic on google. Cheers

  • Using Flex Builder with source control

    - by Dan Monego
When setting up a source control repository for a Flex Builder workspace, what do you consider to be worth checking in? Do you exclude the workspace .metadata folder but keep the .project and other project specific files? Keep both? Throw away both? Is there a guideline you use to decide which is worth holding onto or do you do it out of practical experience?

  • How do I remove elements from a jQuery wrapped set

    - by Bungle
I'm a little confused about which jQuery method and/or selectors to use when trying to select an element, and then remove certain descendant elements from the wrapped set. For example, given the following HTML: <div id="article"> <div id="inset"> <ul> <li>This is bullet point #1.</li> <li>This is bullet point #2.</li> <li>This is bullet point #3.</li> </ul> </div> <p>This is the first paragraph of the article</p> <p>This is the second paragraph of the article</p> <p>This is the third paragraph of the article</p> </div> I want to select the article: var $article = $('#article'); but then remove <div id="inset"></div> and its descendants from the wrapped set. I tried the following: var $article = $('#article').not('#inset'); but that didn't work, and in retrospect, I think I can see why. I also tried using remove() unsuccessfully. What would be the correct way to do this? Ultimately, I need to set this up in such a way that I can define a configuration array, such as: var selectors = [ { select: '#article', exclude: ['#inset'] } ]; where select defines a single element that contains text content, and exclude is an optional array that defines one or more selectors to disregard text content from. Given the final wrapped set with the excluded elements removed, I would like to be able to call jQuery's text() method to end up with the following text: This is the first paragraph of the article. This is the second paragraph of the article. This is the third paragraph of the article. The configuration array doesn't need to work exactly like that, but it should provide roughly equivalent configuration potential. Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • Add rel="xx" to jQuery a.link elements

    - by Xavier
I use a little jQuery script to run a simple music player, but I'd like to add a rel="player" to the links in this jQuery script (the play/stop button for instance). This way I can exclude these rel="player" links from another jQuery script I use, because I don't want it to take the rel="player" elements into account. I reckon this is fair simple but i don't really know how to to it. Here is the jQuery script of the player, if it's ever necessary: http://hyker.be/cv/js/jquery.simpleplayer.min.js

  • How to diff just the source files?

    - by Kimvais
I have two almost similar source code trees, but do not have access to the source code repository so I am stuck with release packages that contain also test reports, documentation, binaries etc. the diff command only support --exclude, but I would like to do something like diff -wbur --include='*.c,*.h' tree1 tree2 I know that this question is somewhat related, but does not really address my issue. Bonus points for ignoring change blocks that are completely in C comments :)

  • Reasons to store users' data in LDAP instead of RDBMS

    - by Ancymon
It is often said that using LDAP is a good way to store data about users. That's beacause users' "directory" is hierarchical and it changes rarely. But in my opinion that doesn't exclude using RDBMS. What might be reasons to use LDAP? I guess that storing multi-valued fields or adding custom fields in LDAP might be easier but it can be done in database too (unless you have many records)

  • How to replace only part of the match with python re.sub

    - by Arty
I need to match two cases by one reg expression and do replacement 'long.file.name.jpg' - 'long.file.name_suff.jpg' 'long.file.name_a.jpg' - 'long.file.name_suff.jpg' I'm trying to do the following re.sub('(\_a)?\.[^\.]*$' , '_suff.',"long.file.name.jpg") But this is cut the extension '.jpg' and I'm getting long.file.name_suff. instead of long.file.name_suff.jpg I understand that this is because of [^.]*$ part, but I can't exclude it, because I have to find last occurance of '_a' to replace or last '.' Is there a way to replace only part of the match?

  • Excluding a folder from autotesting

    - by gmile
I've just installed a ZenTest to use autotest in my project. I use rspec and have an integration folder inside it. As I don't want all my integration tests run every single time I start autospec , so I'd like to somehow restrict autospec from running tests in that folder. How do I exclude a chosen folder inside a /spec from running by autotest?
