  • Excel VBA Userform Combobox problem

    - by Marc
I'm having difficulties with a Combobox in a userform in an Excel document. The combobox either doesn't appear in the userform, or the combobox remains blank, and when I enter any character in it, the list of items appears, but 2 or 3 times, instead of just once. When I select an item, the chosen item doesn't appear in the box. It seems as if

  • The IOC "child" container / Service Locator

    - by Mystagogue
DISCLAIMER: I know there is debate between DI and service locator patterns. I have a question that is intended to avoid the debate. This question is for the service locator fans, who happen to think like Fowler "DI...is hard to understand...on the whole I prefer to avoid it unless I need it." For the purposes of my question, I must avoid DI

  • Creating a Facebook session for getting page info

    - by Marty Haught
I am trying to get info on a page that my user is admin for. This user has granted my fb_connect app offline access. I have saved the session_key that allows offline access (it has the user's id in it). I am able to publish to this fan page with this session key. But when I try to access the page's info I get an SessionExpired error. This

  • Powering-down USB Powered Devices on laptop sleep

    - by Carl
I recently purchased a Targus Lap Chill Mat, which is a USB powered device, but doesn't have any interface/storage/etc function. I'd like it to power-down when my (macbook) laptop sleeps (since the fan obviously doesn't need to be running when the laptop is idle) without having to unplug it. Any suggestions?

  • Acer Aspire One AOA 150 netbook health monitoring software

    - by iceman
I have a Acer Aspire One AOA 150 with Windows Xp Home. I want to monitor the voltages from the power supply, the temperature of the system, the CPU and fan speeds. Much like the functionality of GKrellM(though I haven't used this on the netbook yet) , a GTK applet designed to make an impressive panel of monitors or xsensors in

  • Windows 7 search not finding files

    - by Rob Nicholson
Can anyone please explain this quirk in Windows 7 search (not a big fan of it - preferred XP method or least both). With Outlook, you sometimes have to find and delete your OST file. It resides in the user's profile folder. How come searching the entire C: drive for *.ost files works - they are in c:\Users\rob.nicholson\appdata

  • emacs, colors in term-mode

    - by valya
Hello, I use Emacs and I run bash with M-x term command. There is a problem: colors in the *terminal* buffer aren't the same as in Gnome Terminal, and they are worse (do you need a screen shot?). How can I fix this? This is pretty annoying :-) Thank you! Linux Mint 9 Emacs 23.1.1 x86_64 __________________

  • SMPS stops when I plug in a SATA drive?

    - by claws
Hello, Part 1: my first question is all the 4 wire power connectors (intended for hardisks/dvd drives not mother board) are same. Right? I've been using all of them same and I had no problem for years. Yesterday I borrowed a SATA disk from my friend and connected it my computer using Sata Power adaptor (4 wire)

  • Monitor utilities

    - by Adam Davis
I'm a big fan of good monitor usage, but only currently use a few utilities to help me attain display nirvana across several systems and monitors. Part of this is due to not knowing what's available. Please list one monitor utility that you use and what it does for you per answer, and avoid duplicates - comment

  • virtual appliance resources

    - by user11457
I'm fairly new to appliances but have become a big fan of virtualization. Are there any other resources where I can find and download virtual appliances outside of vmware's website? Or do I just need to scour the web looking them? I'm sure there is a central site that lists all the virtual appliances available,

So Win7 just updated and attempted to restart the PC but I received no visual and no beeping sound. I started to unplug all unnecessary hardware components so now all that's left is my boot hd. And yet not even the CPU fan is running.

Can I re-use my heatsink/fan that is currently on the motherboard with this new Intel e5300 CPU ? I know both CPUs are socket 775 based CPUs. I have a 2.4 GZ single core Intel chip currently. Also would I be able salvage the thermal paste or should I just buy new paste?

  • My system show extremely hot processor temperature

    - by user34300
I've build a small miniITX system with Pentium 4 processor. It works fine but there's extremely hot temperature is shown by the CPU sensor, around 120 C. Of course this is causing the fan run extremely fast as well making the whole system very loud. I tried to touch the CPU radiator but it is very cool so this

  • Vim convert tabs to spaces for one folder

    - by Macha
I'm working on a project with a friend soon. Given that he cares about these things more than me, I let him choose the indentation. Him being a Ruby fan, he chose two spaces. My usual is to use tabs. Is there anyway I can set vim to, only in this specific folder, have it as two spaces when I press the
