  • How can I close a window in Perl/Tk?

    - by guy ergas
    In my Perl/Tk script I have opened two windows. After a specific button click I want to close one of them. How can I do that? Here's what I have so far: $main = new MainWindow; $sidebar = $main->Frame(-relief => "raised", -borderwidth => 2) ->pack (-side=>"left" , -anchor => "nw", -fill => "y"); $Button1 = $sidebar -> Button (-text=>"Open\nNetlist", -command=> \&GUI_OPEN_NETLIST) ->pack(-fill=>"x"); MainLoop; sub GUI_OPEN_NETLIST { $component_dialog = new MainWindow; $Button = $component_dialog -> Button (-text=>"Open\nNetlist", -command=> **close new window**) ->pack(-fill=>"x"); MainLoop; }

  • create board for game with events support

    - by netmajor
    How can I create board for simple game, looks like for chess,but user could dynamically change number of column and rows? In cells I could insert symbol of pawn, like small image or just ellipse or rectangle with fill. This board should have possibility add and remove pawn from cells and move pown from one cell to another. My first idea was Grid. I do it in code behind, but it's hurt to implement events or everything in runtime create board :/ int size = 12; Grid board = new Grid(); board.ShowGridLines = true; for (int i = 0; i < size;i++ ) { board.ColumnDefinitions.Add(new ColumnDefinition()); board.RowDefinitions.Add(new RowDefinition()); } //komputer Rectangle ai = new Rectangle(); ai.Height = 20; ai.Width = 20; ai.AllowDrop = true; ai.Fill = Brushes.Orange; Grid.SetRow(ai, 0); Grid.SetColumn(ai,0); //czlowiek Rectangle hum = new Rectangle(); hum.Height = 20; hum.Width = 20; hum.AllowDrop = true; hum.Fill = Brushes.Green; Grid.SetRow(hum,size); Grid.SetColumn(hum,size); board.Children.Add(ai); board.Children.Add(hum); this.Content = board; It's a way to do this dynamically col and row change in XAML ? It's better way to implement that board create and implement events on move pawn from one cell to another ?

  • SQL Server SELECT stored procedure according to combobox.selectedvalue

    - by Jay
    In order to fill a datagridview according to the selectedvalue of a combobox I've tried creating a stored procedure. However, as I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing, depending on the WHERE statement at the end of my stored procedure, it either returns everything within the table or nothing at all. This is what's in my class: Public Function GetAankoopDetails(ByRef DisplayMember As String, ByRef ValueMember As String) As DataTable DisplayMember = "AankoopDetailsID" ValueMember = "AankoopDetailsID" If DS.Tables.Count > 0 Then DS.Tables.Remove(DT) End If DT = DAC.ExecuteDataTable(My.Resources.S_AankoopDetails, _Result, _ DAC.Parameter(Const_AankoopID, AankoopID), _ DAC.Parameter("@ReturnValue", 0)) DS.Tables.Add(DT) Return DT End Function Public Function GetAankoopDetails() As DataTable If DS.Tables.Count > 0 Then DS.Tables.Remove(DT) End If DT = DAC.ExecuteDataTable(My.Resources.S_AankoopDetails, _Result, _ DAC.Parameter(Const_AankoopID, AankoopID), _ DAC.Parameter("@ReturnValue", 0)) DS.Tables.Add(DT) Return DT End Function This is the function in the code behind the form I've written in order to fill the datagridview: Private Sub GridAankoopDetails_Fill() Try Me.Cursor = Cursors.WaitCursor dgvAankoopDetails.DataSource = Nothing _clsAankoopDetails.AankoopDetailsID = cboKeuze.SelectedValue dgvAankoopDetails.DataSource = _clsAankoopDetails.GetAankoopDetails Catch ex As Exception MessageBox.Show("An error occurred while trying to fill the data grid: " & ex.Message, "Oops!", MessageBoxButtons.OK) Finally Me.Cursor = Cursors.Default End Try End Sub And finally, this is my stored procedure: (do note that I'm not sure what I'm doing here) USE [Budget] GO /****** Object: StoredProcedure [dbo].[S_AankoopDetails] Script Date: 04/12/2010 03:10:52 ******/ SET ANSI_NULLS ON GO SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON GO ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[S_AankoopDetails] ( @AankoopID int, @ReturnValue int output ) AS declare @Value int set @Value =@@rowcount if @Value = 0 begin SELECT dbo.tblAankoopDetails.AankoopDetailsID, dbo.tblAankoopDetails.AankoopID, dbo.tblAankoopDetails.ArtikelID, dbo.tblAankoopDetails.Aantal, dbo.tblAankoopDetails.Prijs, dbo.tblAankoopDetails.Korting, dbo.tblAankoopDetails.SoortKorting, dbo.tblAankoopDetails.UitgavenDeelGroepID FROM dbo.tblAankoopDetails INNER JOIN dbo.tblAankoop ON dbo.tblAankoopDetails.AankoopID = dbo.tblAankoop.AankoopID INNER JOIN dbo.tblArtikel ON dbo.tblAankoopDetails.ArtikelID = dbo.tblArtikel.ArtikelID INNER JOIN dbo.tblUitgavenDeelGroep ON dbo.tblAankoopDetails.UitgavenDeelGroepID = dbo.tblUitgavenDeelGroep.UitgavenDeelGroepID WHERE dbo.tblAankoopDetails.Deleted = 0 and dbo.tblAankoopDetails.AankoopID = @AankoopID ORDER BY AankoopID if @@rowcount >0 begin set @ReturnValue=999 end else begin set @ReturnValue=997 end end if @Value >0 begin --Dit wil zeggen dat ik een gebruiker wil ingeven die reeds bestaat. (998) set @ReturnValue=998 end Does anyone know what I need to do to resolve this?

  • How can I include a .eps figure within a Tikz simple flow chart?

    - by Jan
    Hi, I would like to create a simple flow chart in latex with the TikZ package similar to the following example http://www.texample.net/tikz/examples/simple-flow-chart/ However I would like to include figures (a time series plot created in R, as eps or something else) within the flowchart (e.g. for example within a {block}? \documentclass{article} \usepackage[latin1]{inputenc} \usepackage{tikz} \usetikzlibrary{shapes,arrows} \begin{document} \pagestyle{empty} % Define block styles \tikzstyle{decision} = [diamond, draw, fill=blue!20, text width=4.5em, text badly centered, node distance=3cm, inner sep=0pt] \tikzstyle{block} = [rectangle, draw, fill=blue!20, text width=5em, text centered, rounded corners, minimum height=4em] \tikzstyle{line} = [draw, -latex'] \tikzstyle{cloud} = [draw, ellipse,fill=red!20, node distance=3cm, minimum height=2em] \begin{tikzpicture}[node distance = 2cm, auto] % Place nodes \node [block] (init) {initialize model}; \node [cloud, left of=init] (expert) {expert}; \node [cloud, right of=init] (system) {system}; \node [block, below of=init] (identify) {identify candidate models}; \node [block, below of=identify] (evaluate) {evaluate candidate models}; \node [block, left of=evaluate, node distance=3cm] (update) {update model}; \node [decision, below of=evaluate] (decide) {is best candidate better?}; \node [block, below of=decide, node distance=3cm] (stop) {stop}; % Draw edges \path [line] (init) -- (identify); \path [line] (identify) -- (evaluate); \path [line] (evaluate) -- (decide); \path [line] (decide) -| node [near start] {yes} (update); \path [line] (update) |- (identify); \path [line] (decide) -- node {no}(stop); \path [line,dashed] (expert) -- (init); \path [line,dashed] (system) -- (init); \path [line,dashed] (system) |- (evaluate); \end{tikzpicture} \end{document} Thanks, Jan

  • 3 tier application pattern suggestion

    - by Maxim Gershkovich
    I have attempted to make my first 3 tier application. In the process I have run into one problem I am yet to find an optimal solution for. Basically all my objects use an IFillable interface which forces the implementation of a sub as follows Public Sub Fill(ByVal Datareader As Data.IDataReader) Implements IFillable.Fill This sub then expects the Ids from the datareader will be identical to the properties of the object as such. Me.m_StockID = Datareader.GetGuid(Datareader.GetOrdinal("StockID")) In the end I end up with a datalayer that looks something like this. Public Shared Function GetStockByID(ByVal ConnectionString As String, ByVal StockID As Guid) As Stock Dim res As New Stock Using sqlConn As New SqlConnection(ConnectionString) sqlConn.Open() res.Fill(StockDataLayer.GetStockByIDQuery(sqlConn, StockID)) End Using Return res End Function Mostly this pattern seems to make sense. However my problem is, lets say I want to implement a property for Stock called StockBarcodeList. Under the above mentioned pattern any way I implement this property I will need to pass a connectionstring to it which obviously breaks my attempt at layer separation. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to solve this problem or am I going about this the completely wrong way? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might improve my implementation? Please note however I am deliberately trying to avoid using the dataset in any form.

  • Linq: Why won't Group By work when Querying DataSets?

    - by jrcs3
    While playing with Linq Group By statements using both DataSet and Linq-to-Sql DataContext, I get different results with the following VB.NET 10 code: #If IS_DS = True Then Dim myData = VbDataUtil.getOrdersDS #Else Dim myData = VbDataUtil.GetNwDataContext #End If Dim MyList = From o In myData.Orders Join od In myData.Order_Details On o.OrderID Equals od.OrderID Join e In myData.Employees On o.EmployeeID Equals e.EmployeeID Group By FullOrder = New With { .OrderId = od.OrderID, .EmployeeName = (e.FirstName & " " & e.LastName), .ShipCountry = o.ShipCountry, .OrderDate = o.OrderDate } _ Into Amount = Sum(od.Quantity * od.UnitPrice) Where FullOrder.ShipCountry = "Venezuela" Order By FullOrder.OrderId Select FullOrder.OrderId, FullOrder.OrderDate, FullOrder.EmployeeName, Amount For Each x In MyList Console.WriteLine( String.Format( "{0}; {1:d}; {2}: {3:c}", x.OrderId, x.OrderDate, x.EmployeeName, x.Amount)) Next With Linq2SQL, the grouping works properly, however, the DataSet code doesn't group properly. Here are the functions that I call to create the DataSet and Linq-to-Sql DataContext Public Shared Function getOrdersDS() As NorthwindDS Dim ds As New NorthwindDS Dim ota As New OrdersTableAdapter ota.Fill(ds.Orders) Dim otda As New Order_DetailsTableAdapter otda.Fill(ds.Order_Details) Dim eda As New EmployeesTableAdapter eda.Fill(ds.Employees) Return ds End Function Public Shared Function GetNwDataContext() As NorthwindL2SDataContext Dim s As New My.MySettings Return New NorthwindL2SDataContext(s.NorthwindConnectionString) End Function What am I missing? If it should work, how do I make it work, if it can't work, why not (what interface isn't implemented, etc)?

  • Keyboard blocking my view

    - by John Smith
    I have a UIView with another UIView inside it. On the inside UIView there is a textbox which I want to fill in. When I try to fill it in the keyboard blocks my view: The UIViewController has the following containerView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:[UIScreen mainScreen].bounds]; self.view=containerView; //The apropriate releases etc are further on... When I touch it, the keyboard comes up as expected, but blocks the textbox I'm trying to fill in. How can I force the view to slide up? The front view OptionsFront * fv = [[OptionsFront alloc] initWithFrame:[UIScreen mainScreen].bounds]; [containerView addSubview:frontView]; In the front view is a subview CGRect bounds = CGRectMake(0.0f, 210.0f, 280.0f, 130.0f); sv = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:bounds]; [self addSubview:sv]; //added to frontView In sv is a textbox near the botton: rect = CGRectMake(70.0f, 20.0f, 100.0f, 27.0f); cf = [self createTextField_Rounded:rect holder:@"+ve"]; [sv addSubview:cf]; So cf happens to be near the bottom of the page. I expected that when I select it, the whole display would move up, but the keyboard just moves up and blocks it. What can I do? Appendix: - (UITextField *)createTextField_Rounded:(CGRect) frame holder:(NSString *) ph { UITextField *returnTextField = [[UITextField alloc] initWithFrame:frame]; returnTextField.borderStyle = UITextBorderStyleRoundedRect; returnTextField.textColor = [UIColor blackColor]; returnTextField.font = [UIFont systemFontOfSize:17.0]; returnTextField.delegate = self; returnTextField.keyboardType = UIKeyboardTypeNumbersAndPunctuation; returnTextField.returnKeyType = UIReturnKeyDone; returnTextField.clearButtonMode = UITextFieldViewModeWhileEditing; return returnTextField; }

  • Group variables in a boxplot in R

    - by tao.hong
    I am trying to generate a boxplot whose data come from two scenarios. In the plot, I would like to group boxes by their names (So there will be two boxes per variable). I know ggplot would be a good choice. But I got errors which I could not figure out. Can anyone give me some suggestions? sensitivity_out1 structure(c(0.0522902104339716, 0.0521369824334004, 0.0520240345973737, 0.0519818337359876, 0.051935071418996, 0.0519089404325544, 0.000392698277338341, 0.000326135474295325, 0.000280863338343747, 0.000259631566041935, 0.000246594043996332, 0.000237923540393391, 0.00046732650331544, 0.000474448907808135, 0.000478287273678457, 0.000480194683464109, 0.000480631753078668, 0.000481760272726273, 0.000947965771207979, 0.000944821699830455, 0.000939631071343889, 0.000937186900570605, 0.000936007346568281, 0.000934756220144141, 0.00132442589501872, 0.00132658367774979, 0.00133334696220742, 0.00133622384928092, 0.0013381577476241, 0.00134005741746304, 0.0991622968751298, 0.100791399440082, 0.101946808417405, 0.102524244727408, 0.102920085260477, 0.103232984259916, 0.0305219507186844, 0.0304635269233494, 0.0304161055015213, 0.0303742106794513, 0.0303381888169022, 0.0302996157711171, 1.94268588634518e-05, 2.23991225564447e-05, 2.5756135487907e-05, 2.79997917298194e-05, 3.00753967077715e-05, 3.16270817369878e-05, 0.544701146678523, 0.542887331601984, 0.541632986366816, 0.541005610554556, 0.540617004208336, 0.540315690692195, 0.000453386694666078, 0.000448473414508756, 0.00044692043197248, 0.000444826296854332, 0.000445747996014684, 0.000444764303682453, 0.000127569551159321, 0.000128422491392669, 0.00012933662856487, 0.000129941842982939, 0.000129578971489026, 0.000131113075233758, 0.00684610571790029, 0.00686349387897349, 0.00687468164010565, 0.00687880720347743, 0.00688275579317197, 0.00687822247621936), .Dim = c(6L, 12L)) out2 structure(c(0.0189965816735366, 0.0189995096225103, 0.0190099362589894, 0.0190033523148514, 0.01900896721937, 0.0190099427513381, 0.00192043989797585, 0.00207303208721059, 0.00225931163225165, 0.0024049969048389, 0.00252310364086785, 0.00262940166568126, 0.00195164921633517, 0.00190079923515755, 0.00186139563778548, 0.00184188171395076, 0.00183248544676564, 0.00182492970673969, 1.83038731485927e-05, 1.98252671720347e-05, 2.14794764479231e-05, 2.30713122969332e-05, 2.4484220713564e-05, 2.55958833705284e-05, 0.0428066864455102, 0.0431686808647809, 0.0434411033615353, 0.0435883377765726, 0.0436690169266633, 0.0437340464360965, 0.145288252474567, 0.141488776430307, 0.138204532539654, 0.136281799717717, 0.134864952272761, 0.133738386148036, 0.0711728636959696, 0.072031388688795, 0.0727536853228245, 0.0731581966147734, 0.0734424337399303, 0.0736637270702609, 0.000605277151497094, 0.000617268349064968, 0.000632975679951382, 0.000643904422677427, 0.000653775268094148, 0.000662225067910141, 0.26735354610469, 0.267515415990146, 0.26753155165617, 0.267553498616325, 0.267532284594615, 0.267510330320289, 0.000334158771646756, 0.000319032383145857, 0.000306074699839994, 0.000299153278494114, 0.000293956197852583, 0.000290171804454218, 0.000645975219899115, 0.000637548672578787, 0.000632375486965757, 0.000629579821884212, 0.000624956458229123, 0.000622456283217054, 0.0645188290106884, 0.0651539609630352, 0.0656417364889907, 0.0658996698322889, 0.0660715073023965, 0.0662034341510152), .Dim = c(6L, 12L)) Melt data: group variable value 1 1 PLDKRT 0 2 1 PLDKRT 0 3 1 PLDKRT 0 4 1 PLDKRT 0 5 1 PLDKRT 0 6 1 PLDKRT 0 Code: #Data_source 1 sensitivity_1=rbind(sensitivity_out1,sensitivity_out2) sensitivity_1=data.frame(sensitivity_1) colnames(sensitivity_1)=main_l #variable names sensitivity_1$group=1 #Data_source 2 sensitivity_2=rbind(sensitivity_out1[3:4,],sensitivity_out2[3:4,]) sensitivity_2=data.frame(sensitivity_2) colnames(sensitivity_2)=main_l sensitivity_2$group=2 sensitivity_pool=rbind(sensitivity_1,sensitivity_2) sensitivity_pool_m=melt(sensitivity_pool,id.vars="group") ggplot(data = sensitivity_pool_m, aes(x = variable, y = value)) + geom_boxplot(aes( fill= group), width = 0.8) Error: "Error in unit(tic_pos.c, "mm") : 'x' and 'units' must have length > 0" Update Figure out the error.   • UIImageView is resizing

    - by dawatson833
    I have an issue with uiimageviews resizing at run time. On one view I have more than a dozen uiimageviews contained within a uiscrollview. The images are assigned at design time. The uiimageview's are all the same size. The mode is set to Aspect Fill for all uiimageviews. At run time the images appear correctly in the view. On a second view I have only 9 uiimageviews. These uiimageviews will display up to nine of the images selected from the first view. There are three images across and three images down. The uiimageview at design time is the same size as on the first view. The uiimageview image is assigned an image that is loaded into an array. All the uiimageviews are sized the same and they also have the mode set to Aspect Fill. The images are assigned at run time using image1.image = xxx. Where xxx is an image stored in an array. However, on this second view, the images are not all the same size. The height of the image changes dynamically. The same image displayed in a different uiimageview on the view will be different sizes. It is the height of the uiimageview that changes. In some cases the image will fill the uiimageview differently. It is like the mode changes dynamically. I've tried using different modes and nothing changes. Any ideas on what is happening?

  • Return call from ggplot object

    - by aL3xa
    I've been using ggplot2 for a while now, and I can't find a way to get formula from ggplot object. Though I can get basic info with summary(<ggplot_object>), in order to get complete formula, usually I was combing up and down through .Rhistory file. And this becomes frustrating when you experiment with new graphs, especially when code gets a bit lengthy... so searching through history file isn't quite convenient way of doing this... Is there a more efficient way of doing this? Just an illustration: p <- qplot(data = mtcars, x = factor(cyl), geom = "bar", fill = factor(cyl)) + scale_fill_manual(name = "Cylinders", value = c("firebrick3", "gold2", "chartreuse3")) + stat_bin(aes(label = ..count..), vjust = -0.2, geom = "text", position = "identity") + xlab("# of cylinders") + ylab("Frequency") + opts(title = "Barplot: # of cylinders") I can get some basic info with summary: > summary(p) data: mpg, cyl, disp, hp, drat, wt, qsec, vs, am, gear, carb [32x11] mapping: fill = factor(cyl), x = factor(cyl) scales: fill faceting: facet_grid(. ~ ., FALSE) ----------------------------------- geom_bar: stat_bin: position_stack: (width = NULL, height = NULL) mapping: label = ..count.. geom_text: vjust = -0.2 stat_bin: width = 0.9, drop = TRUE, right = TRUE position_identity: (width = NULL, height = NULL) But I want to get code I typed in to get the graph. I reckon that I'm missing something essential here... it's seems impossible that there's no way to get call from ggplot object!

  • Stop image from tiling

    - by Glen Morse
    I have a procedure: procedure DrawSolidHexImage(Target: TCanvas; { Canvas to draw hex on } Fillstyle : TBrushStyle; { How to fill the hex } Fillcolor : TColor; { Color to fill it } fillimage : Tbitmap; { Image to show} Linestyle : TPenStyle; { What kind of lines } LineColor : Tcolor; { What color for lines } x,y,radius: integer; { Position and size of Hex } button : boolean); { Make hexes look like buttons? } When I use this, the image is tiled to fill the area. Is there something I can add or must remove to make it not tile? Thus not repeating the image. Maybe make it center? The Code in which I use DrawSolidHexImage looks like: procedure THexMap.ImageAHex(ImageWanted : TBitmap; HexPatternWanted: TBrushStyle; MapLocation:TPoint); var p0:TPoint; begin if FHexMapOn and FDrawSolidMap and (not UseSavedMap) then begin with TempMap.canvas do p0 := ConvertCoords(Point(MapLocation.x,MapLocation.y),ptROWCOL); DrawSolidHexImage(TempMap.Canvas,HexPatternWanted,clGray, Imagewanted,psSolid,LineColor,p0.x,p0.y,hexradius,hex3d); Refresh; end; end;

  • RectangleGeometry with relative dimensions... how?

    - by Padu Merloti
    I'm trying to replicate the nowadays so fashionable "reflex" effect on a controltemplate for buttons I'm creating. The basic idea is to create a rectangle with a gradient fill from white to transparent and then clip some of that semi-transparent rectangle with a rectanglegeometry. The problem is that I don't know how to define a relative rectangle geometry. I kind of worked around width by defining a large value (1000), but height is a problem. For example, it works good for buttons that have a 200 height, but doesn't do anything for smaller buttons. Any ideas? <Rectangle RadiusX="5" RadiusY="5" StrokeThickness="1" Stroke="Transparent"> <Rectangle.Fill> <LinearGradientBrush StartPoint="0,0" EndPoint="0,0.55"> <GradientStop Color="#66ffffff" Offset="0.0" /> <GradientStop Color="Transparent" Offset="1.0" /> </LinearGradientBrush> </Rectangle.Fill> <Rectangle.Clip> <RectangleGeometry Rect="0,0,1000,60" /> </Rectangle.Clip> </Rectangle>

  • create board for game with events support in WPF

  • Drawing and filling different polygons at the same time in MATLAB

    - by Hossein
    Hi,I have the code below. It load a CSV file into memory. This file contains the coordinates for different polygons.Each row of this file has X,Y coordinates and a string which tells that to which polygon this datapoint belongs. for example a polygone named "Poly1" with 100 data points has 100 rows in this file like : Poly1,X1,Y1 Poly1,X2,Y2 ... Poly1,X100,Y100 Poly2,X1,Y1 ..... The index.csv file has the number of datapoint(number of rows) for each polygon in file Polygons.csv. These details are not important. The thing is: I can successfully extract the datapoints for each polygon using the code below. However, When I plot the lines of different polygons are connected to each other and the plot looks crappy. I need the polygons to be separated(they are connected and overlapping the some areas though). I thought by using "fill" I can actually see them better. But "fill" just filles every polygon that it can find and that is not desirable. I only want to fill inside the polygons. Can someone help me? I can also send you my datapoint if necessary, they are less than 200Kb. Thanks [coordinates,routeNames,polygonData] = xlsread('Polygons.csv'); index = dlmread('Index.csv'); firstPointer = 0 lastPointer = index(1) for Counter=2:size(index) firstPointer = firstPointer + index(Counter) + 1 hold on plot(coordinates(firstPointer:lastPointer,2),coordinates(firstPointer:lastPointer,1),'r-') lastPointer = lastPointer + index(Counter) end

  • nextSibling difference between IE and FF?

    Hi fellows, I just wrote a javascript code for layering in raphaeljs it works perfectly on FF. But it doesn't on IE. The problem is IE returns null for nextSibling for any object. How does one use it correctly, or is there a nextElementSibling call in IE? Even if I reload the page it will still not appear. How can I make it appear? Thanks

  • Choropleth mapping issue in R

    - by chasec
    I am trying to follow the tutorial described here: http://www.thisisthegreenroom.com/2009/choropleths-in-r/ The below code executes, but it is either not matching my dataset with the maps_counties data properly, or it isn't plotting it in the order I would expect. For example, the resulting areas for the greater NYC area show no density while random counties in PA show the highest density. The general format of my data table is: county state count fairfield connecticut 17 hartford connecticut 6 litchfield connecticut 3 new haven connecticut 12 ... ... westchester new york 70 yates new york 1 luzerne pennsylvania 1 Note this data is in order by state and then county and includes data for CT, NJ, NY, & PA. First, I read in my data set: library(maps) library(RColorBrewer) d <- read.table("gissum.txt", sep="\t", header=TRUE) #Concatenate state and county info to match maps library d$stcon <- paste(d$state, d$county, sep=",") #Color bins colors = brewer.pal(5, "PuBu") d$colorBuckets <- as.factor(as.numeric(cut(d$count,c(0,10,20,30,40,50,300)))) Here is my matching mapnames <- map("county",plot=FALSE)[4]$names colorsmatched <- d$colorBuckets [na.omit(match(mapnames ,d$stcon))] Plotting: map("county" ,c("new york","new jersey", "connecticut", "pennsylvania") ,col = colors[d$colorBuckets[na.omit(match(mapnames ,d$stcon))]] ,fill = TRUE ,resolution = 0 ,lty = 0 ,lwd= 0.5 ) map("state" ,c("new york","new jersey", "connecticut", "pennsylvania") ,col = "black" ,fill=FALSE ,add=TRUE ,lty=1 ,lwd=2 ) map("county" ,c("new york","new jersey", "connecticut", "pennsylvania") ,col = "black" ,fill=FALSE ,add=TRUE , lty=1 , lwd=.5 ) title(main="Respondent Home ZIP Codes by County") I am sure I am missing something basic re: the order in which the maps function plots items - but I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks for the help. Please let me know if you need any more information.

    What I am looking to do is if a user complete a form it will provide access to a new location. <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> <!-- function validateForm(theForm) { var firstname = theForm.firstname.value; var lastname = theForm.lastname.value; var email = theForm.email.value; if (firstname == "") { alert("Please fill in your First Name."); theForm.firstname.focus(); return false; } if (lastname == "") { alert("Please fill in your Last Name."); theForm.lastname.focus(); return false; } if (email == "") { alert("Please fill in your email address."); theForm.email.focus(); return false; } return true; } I know this part is wrong but I have no idea how to go about doing it. any help would be nice.. if lastname="" if firstname="" if email="" load('www.google.com');
