  • Getting the Access Token from a Facebook Open Graph response in Ruby

    - by Gearóid
    Hi, I'm trying to implement single sign-on using facebook in my ruby sinatra app. So far, I've been following this tutorial: http://jaywiggins.com/2010/05/facebook-oauth-with-sinatra/ I am able to send a request for a user to connect to my application but I'm having trouble actually "getting" the access token. The user can connect without trouble and I receive a response with the "code" parameter, which I'm supposed to use to exchange an Access Token - but its here where I get stuck. So I submit a url with the following parameters: https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token/{client_id}&{client_secret}&{code}&{redirect_uri} The words in the curly brackets above are obviously replaced by the values. I submit this using the following code: response = open(url) This doesn't seem to return anything of use in the way of an access token (it has a @base_uri which is the url I submitted above and few other parameters, though nothing useful looking). However, if I take that url I submitted and paste it into a browser, I receive back an access token. Can anyone tell me how I can get the request back from facebook and pull out the access token? Thanks.

  • Rebind dymanically created forms after jQuery ajax response

    - by Pjack
    I'm kinda new to jQuery but understand it for the most part. My problem is that when my ajax call which refreshes the entire div is done, all my dynamically created forms don't work. If you try and submit them, the event doens't work properly and just tries to do a normal form submit. I have all the other items such as links bound using the .live() which seem to work great. Just the form dies. How do I rebind the dynamically created forms after the ajax call? They all have id of formname_id. I tried to use bind but it doesn't work as below. Any help is appreciated. Here is the code jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery("form[id^='commentform_']").each(function(){ var id = parseInt(this.id.replace("commentform_", "")); jQuery(this).bind('submit', function(e) { var action = jQuery('#action_' + id).attr('value'); var act_id = ('1'); jQuery.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "ajax/modify.php", data: "action="+ action +"& act_id="+ act_id, success: function(response){ jQuery('#CommentsContainer_' + id).html(response); jQuery('#commentform_' + id)[0].reset(); } }); return false; }); }); });

  • response.redirect to classic asp failing

    - by jeff
    I have the following code pasted below. For some reason, the response.redirect seems to be failing and it is maxing out the cpu on my server and just doesn't do anything. The .net code uploads the file fine, but does not redirect to the asp page to do the processing. I know this is absolute rubbish why would you have .net code redirecting to classic asp, it is a legacy app. I have tried putting false or true etc. at the end of the redirect as I have read other people have had issues with this. Please help as it's driving me insane! It's so strange, it runs locally on my machine but won't run on my server! public void btnUploadTheFile_Click(object Source, EventArgs evArgs) { //need to check that the uploaded file is an xls file. string strFileNameOnServer = "PJI3.txt"; string strBaseLocation = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["str_file_location"]; if ("" == strFileNameOnServer) { txtOutput.InnerHtml = "Error - a file name must be specified."; return; } if (null != uplTheFile.PostedFile) { try { uplTheFile.PostedFile.SaveAs(strBaseLocation+strFileNameOnServer); txtOutput.InnerHtml = "File <b>" + strBaseLocation+strFileNameOnServer+"</b> uploaded successfully"; Response.Redirect ("/COBRA/pages/sap_import_pji3_prc.asp"); } catch (Exception e) { txtOutput.InnerHtml = "Error saving <b>" + strBaseLocation+strFileNameOnServer+"</b><br>"+ e.ToString(); } } }

  • C Programing - Return libcurl http response to string to the calling function

    - by empty set
    I have a homework and i need somehow to compare two http responses. I am writing it on C (dumb decision) and i use libcurl to make things easier. I am calling the function that uses libcurl to http request and response from another function and i want to return the http response to it. Anyway, the code below doesn't work, any ideas? #include <stdio.h> #include <curl/curl.h> #include <string.h> size_t write_data(void *ptr, size_t size, size_t nmemb, void *stream) { size_t written; written = fwrite(ptr, size, nmemb, stream); return written; } char *handle_url(void) { CURL *curl; char *fp; CURLcode res; char *url = "http://www.yahoo.com"; curl = curl_easy_init(); if (curl) { curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_URL, url); curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_WRITEFUNCTION, write_data); curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_WRITEDATA, fp); res = curl_easy_perform(curl); if(res != CURLE_OK) fprintf(stderr, "curl_easy_perform() failed: %s\n", curl_easy_strerror(res)); curl_easy_cleanup(curl); //printf("\n%s", fp); } return fp; } This solution C libcurl get output into a string works, but not in my case because i want to return this string to the calling function.

  • Decompress a GZipped response from the server (Socket)

    - by Lith
    Umm, ok, after sending some data to the server, noting this particular part: "Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate\r\n" I am getting the following response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: nginx Date: Fri, 09 Apr 2010 23:25:27 GMT Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Transfer-Encoding: chunked Connection: keep-alive X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.8 Expires: Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT Last-Modified: Fri, 09 Apr 2010 23:25:27 GMT Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0 Pragma: no-cache Content-Encoding: gzip Vary: Accept-Encoding 7aa ??U-?Rh?%?2?w??PM]??7?qZ?K?)???2?&??m???"q??/p9w?????x?[`tA!G???G?5z??????a>k????????Q ???N?? ('??f?,(??Y:5B???-?)?3x^0e:j?`,???**???F>G)?2????@???b??????A?k???Ar?n? But how do I decompress it? Note that I am using the Socket Class to do all the work. I know how to decompress it, but the problem here lies in the fact that I cannot separate the Packet from the GZipped data, psuedo-psuedocode (or whatever) on how I do it: Socket sends packet; Socket reads response from server, stores into a ByteArray; Create MemoryStream, use ByteArray; Create GZipStream, use Memorystream; now the problem occurs; I am getting the following Error: System.IO.InvalidDataException The magic number in GZip header is not correct. Make sure you are passing in a GZip stream. I hope the explanation is clear enough __.

  • Load Testing Java Web Application - find TPS / Avg transaction response time

    - by Steve
    I would like to build my own load testing tool in Java with the goal of being able to load test a web application I am building throughout the development cycle. The web application will be receiving server to server HTTP Post requests and I would like to find its starting transaction per second (TPS) capacity along with the avgerage response time. The Post request and response messages will be in XML (I dont' think that's really applicable though :) ). I have written a very simple Java app to send transactions and count how many transactions it was able to send in one second (1000 ms) however I don't think this is the best way to load test. Really what I want is to send any number of transactions at exactly the same time - i.e. 10, 50, 100 etc. Any help would be appreciated! Oh and here is my current test app code: Thread[] t = new Thread[1]; for (int a = 0; a < t.length; a++) { t[a] = new Thread(new MessageLoop()); } startTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); System.out.println(startTime); for (int a = 0; a < t.length; a++) { t[a].start(); } while ((System.currentTimeMillis() - startTime) < 1000 ) { } if ((System.currentTimeMillis() - startTime) > 1000 ) { for (int a = 0; a < t.length; a++) { t[a].interrupt(); } } long endTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); System.out.println(endTime); System.out.println("Total time: " + (endTime - startTime)); System.out.println("Total transactions: " + count); private static class MessageLoop implements Runnable { public void run() { try { //Test Number of transactions while ((System.currentTimeMillis() - startTime) < 1000 ) { // SEND TRANSACTION HERE count++; } } catch (Exception e) { } } }

  • Are these saml request-response good enough?

    - by Ashwin
    I have set up a single sign on(SSO) for my services. All the services confirm the identity of the user using the IDPorvider(IDP). In my case I am also the IDP. In my saml request, I have included the following: 1. the level for which auth. is required. 2. the consumer url 3. the destination service url. 4. Issuer Then, encrypting this message with the SP's(service provider) private key and then with the IDP's Public key. Then I am sending this request. The IDP on receiving the request, first decrypts with his own private key and then with SP's public key. In the saml response: 1. destination url 2. Issuer 3. Status of the response Is this good enough? Please give your suggestions?

  • Receiving AJAX HTTP Response Code as 0

    - by shyam
    I have a pretty simple AJAX and PHP code. While calling the PHP through the AJAX it receives the response code as 0. The PHP code is successfully run, but I can't get the response. What does this status '0' denote and how can I solve this? function confirmUser(id) { xmlhttp=GetXmlHttpObject(); regid = id; if (xmlhttp==null) { alert ("Browser does not support HTTP Request"); return; } var url="confirm.php"; url=url+"?id="+id; url=url+"&a=confirm"; xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() { if (xmlhttp.readyState == 4 && xmlhttp.status == 200) { $("#txtHint" + regid).text("Awaiting confirmation"); } else { alert (xmlhttp.status); //this shows '0' } }; xmlhttp.open("GET",url,true); xmlhttp.send(null); } Well, this is the javascript I used. Pardon me if I should've added anything more than this. Also tell me what I missed. I appreciate your help

  • Assigning jQuery ajax response text to variable constanty returns null

    - by Dan Twining
    Hi all, hopefully one of you on this great site can help. I'm having issues with assigning a variable to a jQuery ajax call response text. I have a form which when submited runs my "checkemail" function to varify the email address can be found in a database. If it's found, the responseText == "true", else "false". This works fine, and can be seen ok using Firebug....but the actual variable the response text should be assigned to is constantly showing "", and therefore causing the function to return false all the time. function checkemail(){ var EmailFromForm = $("#lostemail").val(); var EmailCheckRes = $.ajax({ type : "POST", cache : false, url : "./scripts/passreset/emailcheck.php", data : "Email="+EmailFromForm, dataType : "text", }).responseText; if (EmailCheckRes == "true") { alert("Should say true: " + EmailCheckRes); return true; } else { $("#ErrorMsg").html("Your email address is either invalid or not found."); alert("Should say false: " + EmailCheckRes); return false; } } If anyone has any pointers as to what i'm doing wrong it'd be greatly appreciated.

  • PHP, MySQL, jQuery, AJAX: json data returns correct response but frontend returns error

    - by Devner
    Hi all, I have a user registration form. I am doing server side validation on the fly via AJAX. The quick summary of my problem is that upon validating 2 fields, I get error for the second field validation. If I comment first field, then the 2nd field does not show any error. It has this weird behavior. More details below: The HTML, JS and Php code are below: HTML FORM: <form id="SignupForm" action=""> <fieldset> <legend>Free Signup</legend> <label for="username">Username</label> <input name="username" type="text" id="username" /><span id="status_username"></span><br /> <label for="email">Email</label> <input name="email" type="text" id="email" /><span id="status_email"></span><br /> <label for="confirm_email">Confirm Email</label> <input name="confirm_email" type="text" id="confirm_email" /><span id="status_confirm_email"></span><br /> </fieldset> <p> <input id="sbt" type="button" value="Submit form" /> </p> </form> JS: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#email").blur(function() { var email = $("#email").val(); var msgbox2 = $("#status_email"); if(email.length > 3) { $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'check_ajax2.php', data: "email="+ email, dataType: 'json', cache: false, success: function(data) { if(data.success == 'y') { alert('Available'); } else { alert('Not Available'); } } }); } return false; }); $("#confirm_email").blur(function() { var confirm_email = $("#confirm_email").val(); var email = $("#email").val(); var msgbox3 = $("#status_confirm_email"); if(confirm_email.length > 3) { $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: 'check_ajax2.php', data: 'confirm_email='+ confirm_email + '&email=' + email, dataType: 'json', cache: false, success: function(data) { if(data.success == 'y') { alert('Available'); } else { alert('Not Available'); } } , error: function (data) { alert('Some error'); } }); } return false; }); }); </script> PHP code: <?php //check_ajax2.php if(isset($_POST['email'])) { $email = $_POST['email']; $res = mysql_query("SELECT uid FROM members WHERE email = '$email' "); $i_exists = mysql_num_rows($res); if( 0 == $i_exists ) { $success = 'y'; $msg_email = 'Email available'; } else { $success = 'n'; $msg_email = 'Email is already in use.</font>'; } print json_encode(array('success' => $success, 'msg_email' => $msg_email)); } if(isset($_POST['confirm_email'])) { $confirm_email = $_POST['confirm_email']; $email = ( isset($_POST['email']) && trim($_POST['email']) != '' ? $_POST['email'] : '' ); $res = mysql_query("SELECT uid FROM members WHERE email = '$confirm_email' "); $i_exists = mysql_num_rows($res); if( 0 == $i_exists ) { if( isset($email) && isset($confirm_email) && $email == $confirm_email ) { $success = 'y'; $msg_confirm_email = 'Email available and match'; } else { $success = 'n'; $msg_confirm_email = 'Email and Confirm Email do NOT match.'; } } else { $success = 'n'; $msg_confirm_email = 'Email already exists.'; } print json_encode(array('success' => $success, 'msg_confirm_email' => $msg_confirm_email)); } ?> THE PROBLEM: As long as I am validating the $_POST['email'] as well as $_POST['confirm_email'] in the check_ajax2.php file, the validation for confirm_email field always returns an error. With my limited knowledge of Firebug, however, I did find out that the following were the responses when I entered email and confirm_email in the fields: RESPONSE 1: {"success":"y","msg_email":"Email available"} RESPONSE 2: {"success":"y","msg_email":"Email available"}{"success":"n","msg_confirm_email":"Email and Confirm Email do NOT match."} Although the RESPONSE 2 shows that we are receiving the correct message via msg_confirm_email, in the front end, the alert 'Some error' is popping up (I have enabled the alert for debugging). I have spent 48 hours trying to change every part of the code wherever possible, but with only little success. What is weird about this is that if I comment the validation for $_POST['email'] field completely, then the validation for $_POST['confirm_email'] field is displaying correctly without any errors. If I enable it back, it is validating email field correctly, but when it reaches the point of validating confirm_email field, it is again showing me the error. I have also tried renaming success variable in check_ajax2.php page to other different names for both $_POST['email'] and $_POST['confirm_email'] but no success. I will be adding more fields in the form and validating within the check_ajax2.php page. So I am not planning on using different ajax pages for validating each of those fields (and I don't think it's smart to do it that way). I am not a jquery or AJAX guru, so all help in resolving this issue is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

  • XSLT - group response as per month and year combination

    - by alisha
    I want into write xslt to get response for the input xml. thanks in advance. I want to group output such that month year combination is not repeated for each of the employee details. • ASPNET WebAPI REST Guidance

    - by JoshReuben
    ASP.NET Web API is an ideal platform for building RESTful applications on the .NET Framework. While I may be more partial to NodeJS these days, there is no denying that WebAPI is a well engineered framework. What follows is my investigation of how to leverage WebAPI to construct a RESTful frontend API.   The Advantages of REST Methodology over SOAP Simpler API for CRUD ops Standardize Development methodology - consistent and intuitive Standards based à client interop Wide industry adoption, Ease of use à easy to add new devs Avoid service method signature blowout Smaller payloads than SOAP Stateless à no session data means multi-tenant scalability Cache-ability Testability   General RESTful API Design Overview · utilize HTTP Protocol - Usage of HTTP methods for CRUD, standard HTTP response codes, common HTTP headers and Mime Types · Resources are mapped to URLs, actions are mapped to verbs and the rest goes in the headers. · keep the API semantic, resource-centric – A RESTful, resource-oriented service exposes a URI for every piece of data the client might want to operate on. A REST-RPC Hybrid exposes a URI for every operation the client might perform: one URI to fetch a piece of data, a different URI to delete that same data. utilize Uri to specify CRUD op, version, language, output format: http://api.MyApp.com/{ver}/{lang}/{resource_type}/{resource_id}.{output_format}?{key&filters} · entity CRUD operations are matched to HTTP methods: · Create - POST / PUT · Read – GET - cacheable · Update – PUT · Delete - DELETE · Use Uris to represent a hierarchies - Resources in RESTful URLs are often chained · Statelessness allows for idempotency – apply an op multiple times without changing the result. POST is non-idempotent, the rest are idempotent (if DELETE flags records instead of deleting them). · Cache indication - Leverage HTTP headers to label cacheable content and indicate the permitted duration of cache · PUT vs POST - The client uses PUT when it determines which URI (Id key) the new resource should have. The client uses POST when the server determines they key. PUT takes a second param – the id. POST creates a new resource. The server assigns the URI for the new object and returns this URI as part of the response message. Note: The PUT method replaces the entire entity. That is, the client is expected to send a complete representation of the updated product. If you want to support partial updates, the PATCH method is preferred DELETE deletes a resource at a specified URI – typically takes an id param · Leverage Common HTTP Response Codes in response headers 200 OK: Success 201 Created - Used on POST request when creating a new resource. 304 Not Modified: no new data to return. 400 Bad Request: Invalid Request. 401 Unauthorized: Authentication. 403 Forbidden: Authorization 404 Not Found – entity does not exist. 406 Not Acceptable – bad params. 409 Conflict - For POST / PUT requests if the resource already exists. 500 Internal Server Error 503 Service Unavailable · Leverage uncommon HTTP Verbs to reduce payload sizes HEAD - retrieves just the resource meta-information. OPTIONS returns the actions supported for the specified resource. PATCH - partial modification of a resource. · When using PUT, POST or PATCH, send the data as a document in the body of the request. Don't use query parameters to alter state. · Utilize Headers for content negotiation, caching, authorization, throttling o Content Negotiation – choose representation (e.g. JSON or XML and version), language & compression. Signal via RequestHeader.Accept & ResponseHeader.Content-Type Accept: application/json;version=1.0 Accept-Language: en-US Accept-Charset: UTF-8 Accept-Encoding: gzip o Caching - ResponseHeader: Expires (absolute expiry time) or Cache-Control (relative expiry time) o Authorization - basic HTTP authentication uses the RequestHeader.Authorization to specify a base64 encoded string "username:password". can be used in combination with SSL/TLS (HTTPS) and leverage OAuth2 3rd party token-claims authorization. Authorization: Basic sQJlaTp5ZWFslylnaNZ= o Rate Limiting - Not currently part of HTTP so specify non-standard headers prefixed with X- in the ResponseHeader. X-RateLimit-Limit: 10000 X-RateLimit-Remaining: 9990 · HATEOAS Methodology - Hypermedia As The Engine Of Application State – leverage API as a state machine where resources are states and the transitions between states are links between resources and are included in their representation (hypermedia) – get API metadata signatures from the response Link header - in a truly REST based architecture any URL, except the initial URL, can be changed, even to other servers, without worrying about the client. · error responses - Do not just send back a 200 OK with every response. Response should consist of HTTP error status code (JQuery has automated support for this), A human readable message , A Link to a meaningful state transition , & the original data payload that was problematic. · the URIs will typically map to a server-side controller and a method name specified by the type of request method. Stuff all your calls into just four methods is not as crazy as it sounds. · Scoping - Path variables look like you’re traversing a hierarchy, and query variables look like you’re passing arguments into an algorithm · Mapping URIs to Controllers - have one controller for each resource is not a rule – can consolidate - route requests to the appropriate controller and action method · Keep URls Consistent - Sometimes it’s tempting to just shorten our URIs. not recommend this as this can cause confusion · Join Naming – for m-m entity relations there may be multiple hierarchy traversal paths · Routing – useful level of indirection for versioning, server backend mocking in development ASPNET WebAPI Considerations ASPNET WebAPI implements a lot (but not all) RESTful API design considerations as part of its infrastructure and via its coding convention. Overview When developing an API there are basically three main steps: 1. Plan out your URIs 2. Setup return values and response codes for your URIs 3. Implement a framework for your API.   Design · Leverage Models MVC folder · Repositories – support IoC for tests, abstraction · Create DTO classes – a level of indirection decouples & allows swap out · Self links can be generated using the UrlHelper · Use IQueryable to support projections across the wire · Models can support restful navigation properties – ICollection<T> · async mechanism for long running ops - return a response with a ticket – the client can then poll or be pushed the final result later. · Design for testability - Test using HttpClient , JQuery ( $.getJSON , $.each) , fiddler, browser debug. Leverage IDependencyResolver – IoC wrapper for mocking · Easy debugging - IE F12 developer tools: Network tab, Request Headers tab     Routing · HTTP request method is matched to the method name. (This rule applies only to GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE requests.) · {id}, if present, is matched to a method parameter named id. · Query parameters are matched to parameter names when possible · Done in config via Routes.MapHttpRoute – similar to MVC routing · Can alternatively: o decorate controller action methods with HttpDelete, HttpGet, HttpHead,HttpOptions, HttpPatch, HttpPost, or HttpPut., + the ActionAttribute o use AcceptVerbsAttribute to support other HTTP verbs: e.g. PATCH, HEAD o use NonActionAttribute to prevent a method from getting invoked as an action · route table Uris can support placeholders (via curly braces{}) – these can support default values and constraints, and optional values · The framework selects the first route in the route table that matches the URI. Response customization · Response code: By default, the Web API framework sets the response status code to 200 (OK). But according to the HTTP/1.1 protocol, when a POST request results in the creation of a resource, the server should reply with status 201 (Created). Non Get methods should return HttpResponseMessage · Location: When the server creates a resource, it should include the URI of the new resource in the Location header of the response. public HttpResponseMessage PostProduct(Product item) {     item = repository.Add(item);     var response = Request.CreateResponse<Product>(HttpStatusCode.Created, item);     string uri = Url.Link("DefaultApi", new { id = item.Id });     response.Headers.Location = new Uri(uri);     return response; } Validation · Decorate Models / DTOs with System.ComponentModel.DataAnnotations properties RequiredAttribute, RangeAttribute. · Check payloads using ModelState.IsValid · Under posting – leave out values in JSON payload à JSON formatter assigns a default value. Use with RequiredAttribute · Over-posting - if model has RO properties à use DTO instead of model · Can hook into pipeline by deriving from ActionFilterAttribute & overriding OnActionExecuting Config · Done in App_Start folder > WebApiConfig.cs – static Register method: HttpConfiguration param: The HttpConfiguration object contains the following members. Member Description DependencyResolver Enables dependency injection for controllers. Filters Action filters – e.g. exception filters. Formatters Media-type formatters. by default contains JsonFormatter, XmlFormatter IncludeErrorDetailPolicy Specifies whether the server should include error details, such as exception messages and stack traces, in HTTP response messages. Initializer A function that performs final initialization of the HttpConfiguration. MessageHandlers HTTP message handlers - plug into pipeline ParameterBindingRules A collection of rules for binding parameters on controller actions. Properties A generic property bag. Routes The collection of routes. Services The collection of services. · Configure JsonFormatter for circular references to support links: PreserveReferencesHandling.Objects Documentation generation · create a help page for a web API, by using the ApiExplorer class. · The ApiExplorer class provides descriptive information about the APIs exposed by a web API as an ApiDescription collection · create the help page as an MVC view public ILookup<string, ApiDescription> GetApis()         {             return _explorer.ApiDescriptions.ToLookup(                 api => api.ActionDescriptor.ControllerDescriptor.ControllerName); · provide documentation for your APIs by implementing the IDocumentationProvider interface. Documentation strings can come from any source that you like – e.g. extract XML comments or define custom attributes to apply to the controller [ApiDoc("Gets a product by ID.")] [ApiParameterDoc("id", "The ID of the product.")] public HttpResponseMessage Get(int id) · GlobalConfiguration.Configuration.Services – add the documentation Provider · To hide an API from the ApiExplorer, add the ApiExplorerSettingsAttribute Plugging into the Message Handler pipeline · Plug into request / response pipeline – derive from DelegatingHandler and override theSendAsync method – e.g. for logging error codes, adding a custom response header · Can be applied globally or to a specific route Exception Handling · Throw HttpResponseException on method failures – specify HttpStatusCode enum value – examine this enum, as its values map well to typical op problems · Exception filters – derive from ExceptionFilterAttribute & override OnException. Apply on Controller or action methods, or add to global HttpConfiguration.Filters collection · HttpError object provides a consistent way to return error information in the HttpResponseException response body. · For model validation, you can pass the model state to CreateErrorResponse, to include the validation errors in the response public HttpResponseMessage PostProduct(Product item) {     if (!ModelState.IsValid)     {         return Request.CreateErrorResponse(HttpStatusCode.BadRequest, ModelState); Cookie Management · Cookie header in request and Set-Cookie headers in a response - Collection of CookieState objects · Specify Expiry, max-age resp.Headers.AddCookies(new CookieHeaderValue[] { cookie }); Internet Media Types, formatters and serialization · Defaults to application/json · Request Accept header and response Content-Type header · determines how Web API serializes and deserializes the HTTP message body. There is built-in support for XML, JSON, and form-urlencoded data · customizable formatters can be inserted into the pipeline · POCO serialization is opt out via JsonIgnoreAttribute, or use DataMemberAttribute for optin · JSON serializer leverages NewtonSoft Json.NET · loosely structured JSON objects are serialzed as JObject which derives from Dynamic · to handle circular references in json: json.SerializerSettings.PreserveReferencesHandling =    PreserveReferencesHandling.All à {"$ref":"1"}. · To preserve object references in XML [DataContract(IsReference=true)] · Content negotiation Accept: Which media types are acceptable for the response, such as “application/json,” “application/xml,” or a custom media type such as "application/vnd.example+xml" Accept-Charset: Which character sets are acceptable, such as UTF-8 or ISO 8859-1. Accept-Encoding: Which content encodings are acceptable, such as gzip. Accept-Language: The preferred natural language, such as “en-us”. o Web API uses the Accept and Accept-Charset headers. (At this time, there is no built-in support for Accept-Encoding or Accept-Language.) · Controller methods can take JSON representations of DTOs as params – auto-deserialization · Typical JQuery GET request: function find() {     var id = $('#prodId').val();     $.getJSON("api/products/" + id,         function (data) {             var str = data.Name + ': $' + data.Price;             $('#product').text(str);         })     .fail(         function (jqXHR, textStatus, err) {             $('#product').text('Error: ' + err);         }); }            · Typical GET response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: ASP.NET Development Server/10.0.0.0 Date: Mon, 18 Jun 2012 04:30:33 GMT X-AspNet-Version: 4.0.30319 Cache-Control: no-cache Pragma: no-cache Expires: -1 Content-Type: application/json; charset=utf-8 Content-Length: 175 Connection: Close [{"Id":1,"Name":"TomatoSoup","Price":1.39,"ActualCost":0.99},{"Id":2,"Name":"Hammer", "Price":16.99,"ActualCost":10.00},{"Id":3,"Name":"Yo yo","Price":6.99,"ActualCost": 2.05}] True OData support · Leverage Query Options $filter, $orderby, $top and $skip to shape the results of controller actions annotated with the [Queryable]attribute. • Remove namespace declarations from web service response

    - by Fernando
    I have a web service that returns a simple object: [System.CodeDom.Compiler.GeneratedCodeAttribute("System.Xml", "2.0.50727.4927")] [System.SerializableAttribute()] [System.Diagnostics.DebuggerStepThroughAttribute()] [System.ComponentModel.DesignerCategoryAttribute("code")] [System.Xml.Serialization.SoapTypeAttribute(Namespace="urn:CHAMADO")] public partial class STRUCCHAMADOOUT : object, System.ComponentModel.INotifyPropertyChanged { private string cODField; private string mSGField; /// <remarks/> public string COD { get { return this.cODField; } set { this.cODField = value; this.RaisePropertyChanged("COD"); } } /// <remarks/> public string MSG { get { return this.mSGField; } set { this.mSGField = value; this.RaisePropertyChanged("MSG"); } } public event System.ComponentModel.PropertyChangedEventHandler PropertyChanged; protected void RaisePropertyChanged(string propertyName) { System.ComponentModel.PropertyChangedEventHandler propertyChanged = this.PropertyChanged; if ((propertyChanged != null)) { propertyChanged(this, new System.ComponentModel.PropertyChangedEventArgs(propertyName)); } } } this class was generated by wsdl.exe, based on a wsdl file provided by the client. This is the web method: [WebMethod(MessageName="CHAMADORequest")] [SoapRpcMethod( Action = "urn:CHAMADO#CHAMADO", RequestNamespace = "urn:CHAMADO", RequestElementName = "CHAMADO", ResponseNamespace = "", ResponseElementName = "return", Use = SoapBindingUse.Literal )] [return: XmlElement("return")] public STRUCCHAMADOOUT CHAMADO(STRUCCHAMADOIN ENTRADA) { STRUCCHAMADOOUT result = new STRUCCHAMADOOUT(); try { string str = Util.GetRequestXML(); persist(getResult<Entidades.Chamado>(str, "ENTRADA", string.Empty)); result.COD = "1"; result.MSG = "Operação realizada com sucesso"; } catch (Exception ex) { result.COD = "0"; result.MSG = ex.Message + Environment.NewLine + ex.StackTrace; } return result; } The client is saying that his system is raising an error because the service response has namespaces declaration, just like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?> <CHAMADOResponse xmlns="urn:CHAMADO" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <return xmlns=""> <COD xmlns="urn:CHAMADO">1</COD> <MSG xmlns="urn:CHAMADO">Operação realizada com sucesso</MSG> </return> </CHAMADOResponse> Now, I managed to remove the namespaces from COD and MSG by applying the attriute WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.None) to the service's class and setting ResponseNamespace to an empty string. But CHAMADOResponse still have the namespaces declaration. I'm pretty sure that it should not be done like that. In fact, I don't believe that the namespaces are the problem at all. This project has been hard since the begining, as we had to create services that matched legacy wsdl. My question is: is there a way that I could remove all that namespaces declaration from the web service response?

The service returns a HashMap with one of the values an Array, when I request the key of the array from the hashmap, java just returns "java.lang.Object". How do I access the contents of the array? Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your input.

  • Glade 3 Standard Button Layout

    - by Peter
    Hey, I want to create a dialog using Glade 3 (or gtk and Python). In Glade 2 if you wanted to create a dialog box there was an option to set a "standard button layout" which would automatically create an Ok button and a Cancel button which return either gtk.RESPONSE_OK or gtk.REPONSE_CANCEL. This feature has not been reimplmented in Glade 3. How can I create a dialog which will have ok and cancel buttons which return the correct response? Cheers, Pete

  • Remove accents from a JSON response.

    - by Pentium10
    I get back a JSON response from a social networks site. There are certain accented characters that I would like to be removed. An example is : L\u00e1szl\u00f3 M\u00e1rton, that reads "László Márton" and I would like to be transformed into Laszlo Marton. I would like to keep the JSON format intact, as I will send it towards. How can I do this?
