  • SharePoint 2010 slow page response time suddenly !

    Hello, One of my customers faced a problem that suddenly their SharePoint portal was loading extremely slower than usual. After some basic troubleshooting I did not find anything suspicious in the ULS logs, IIS logs or even Event logs. After that, I came to the part that I like most which is capturing a memory dump for the IIS process and analyzing the threads running. I searched for any common mistakes like looping a large list, calling a remote web service but couldn't find any. After a deep analysis of the memory dump (Which was done by an Escalation Engineer for SharePoint), it seems that the farm root certificate was missing and therefore was trying to validate it from the internet every time the user requests to load the page and this was the resolution http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2625048 Cheers,

    All, I have an AJAX request, which makes a JSON request to a server, to get the sync status. The JSON Request and responses are as under: I want to display a JQuery UI progressbar and update the progressbar status, as per the percentage returned in the getStatus JSON response. If the status is "insync", then the progressbar should not appear and a message should be displayed instead. Ex: "Server is in Sync". If I comment out the TCircle loop, then I get a similar error about TSquare. If I comment the TSquare loop out as well, the code compiles and works. Well, it works in the sense that it enumerates every object since they all descend from TShape. The strange thing is that the line number that the compiler indicates is 2 lines beyond the end of my file. In my demo project, it indicated line 177, but there's only 175 lines. Is there any way to make this work? I'd like to be able to assign to Circle directly without going through any typecasts or checking in my for loop itself.

    Hello! I have trouble with JSON response compression. I look to response headers after uploading website to production server (Windows 2008, IIS 7) and found uncompressed response. Turning on "Enabled static compression" and ""Enable dynamic compression" in IIS control panel does not effect. ASPX pages was responsed gzipped, but webservice response uncompressed. I looked to google, but no answer found about this trouble. Also, I try this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2405595/json-ihttpmodule-compression way (and adding to web.config this module) - but this source is excellent working at development machine with ASP.NET development server (and have seven times response size reduced) and totally ignored at IIS7. How I can apply gzip compression to json responses from my webservice? Thanks. PS .NET 3.5

    For fun I'm trying to write a very simple server in C. When I send this response to Firefox it prints out the body "hello, world" but with Chromium it gives me a Error 100 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED): Unknown error. I'd like to have posts in the loop filtered by categories, defined by the user through an admin page. I would actually like to be able to modify query_post() parameters in the plugin, but the only trick I found is to re-run the query_post() with my user-defined criteria, thing that I would like to avoid.     I am having an util class which is not owned by me. I am calling one of the method of that util class which inturn calls one ajax function. And gives me response back. I need to make a decision depending on the response object. But when I remove the breakpoint it starts going in "if" block always. Hows can I solve this issue.

    I'm trying to write a python script that does the following from within a minutely cronjob: tries to execute a url after 10 seconds if there is no response yet, abandon the response and immediately issue a command via os.system to restart the webserver. The problem is that when my server crashes, it doesn't return a response at all. If I were to just have my script time the response, the script will go on for 10 minutes or more. I want it to issue the restart immediately once it detects a slow response. I know such a script could be written in probably less than 5 mines of code, but I have no idea how to go about it.

I have a list of names (just NSString objects) in an NSArray as returned by: [RPBodyPartCategory defaultBodyPartCategoryNames] So let's say that array has string such as {@"Liver", @"Kidney", @"Thyroid"} ... etc. I want to fetch all 'BodyPartCategory' instances whose name attribute matches one of the strings in the set provided (technically NSArray but I can make it an NSSet). In SQL, this would be something like: SELECT * FROM BodyPartCategories WHERE name IN ('Liver', 'Kidney', 'Thyroid') I've gone through various portions of the Predicate Programming Guide, but I don't see this simple use case covered.     My server is being "attacked" by Chinese spiders that don't respect the rules in my robots.txt. They are being very aggressive and using a lot of resources, so I'm going to set up some rules in nginx to block them by user agent. Question: which response code should I return, 403, 444 (empty response in nginx) or something else? I'm wondering how the spiders will react to different status codes. What's the best practice?

    I'm currently using the isotope plugin for a fluid layout, I can successfully filter the content, but after the filters have been called, the rest of my jQuery calls fail to work. Is there a reason for this? Or a way to solve it? Tried all sorts, nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
