    - by Zed
I tried this How do I install this patched b43 driver? guide to install patched b43 driver on Ubuntu 12.04 with 3.2.0-31-generic kernel but I can't pass compilation phase. Here is what I did: wget http://www.orbit-lab.org/kernel/compat-wireless-3-stable/v3.1/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1.tar.bz2 cd compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/ scripts/driver-select b43 make make -C /lib/modules/3.2.0-31-generic/build M=/home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1 modules make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-3.2.0-31-generic' CC [M] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/compat/main.o In file included from /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/include/linux/compat-2.6.29.h:5:0, from /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/include/linux/compat-2.6.h:24, from <command-line>:0: include/linux/netdevice.h:1153:5: warning: "IS_ENABLED" is not defined [-Wundef] include/linux/netdevice.h:1153:15: error: missing binary operator before token "(" include/linux/netdevice.h: In function ‘netdev_uses_dsa_tags’: include/linux/netdevice.h:1421:9: error: ‘struct net_device’ has no member named ‘dsa_ptr’ include/linux/netdevice.h:1422:31: error: ‘struct net_device’ has no member named ‘dsa_ptr’ include/linux/netdevice.h: In function ‘netdev_uses_trailer_tags’: include/linux/netdevice.h:1431:9: error: ‘struct net_device’ has no member named ‘dsa_ptr’ include/linux/netdevice.h:1432:35: error: ‘struct net_device’ has no member named ‘dsa_ptr’ make[3]: *** [/home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/compat/main.o] Error 1 make[2]: *** [/home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/compat] Error 2 make[1]: *** [_module_/home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-3.2.0-31-generic' make: *** [modules] Error 2 To fix that error I added #include <linux/kconfig.h> to /usr/src/linux-headers-3.2.0-31-generic/include/linux/netdevice.h but now I'm getting something else make make -C /lib/modules/3.2.0-31-generic/build M=/home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1 modules make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-3.2.0-31-generic' CC [M] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/compat/main.o LD [M] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/compat/compat.o CC [M] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.o In file included from /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/include/linux/bcma/bcma.h:9:0, from /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/bcma_private.h:8, from /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:8: /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/include/linux/ssb/ssb.h: In function ‘ssb_driver_register’: /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/include/linux/ssb/ssb.h:236:36: error: ‘THIS_MODULE’ undeclared (first use in this function) /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/include/linux/ssb/ssb.h:236:36: note: each undeclared identifier is reported only once for each function it appears in In file included from /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/bcma_private.h:8:0, from /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:8: /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/include/linux/bcma/bcma.h: In function ‘bcma_driver_register’: /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/include/linux/bcma/bcma.h:170:37: error: ‘THIS_MODULE’ undeclared (first use in this function) /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c: At top level: /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:12:20: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before string constant /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:13:16: error: expected declaration specifiers or ‘...’ before string constant /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:182:1: warning: data definition has no type or storage class [enabled by default] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:182:1: warning: type defaults to ‘int’ in declaration of ‘EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL’ [-Wimplicit-int] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:182:1: warning: parameter names (without types) in function declaration [enabled by default] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:188:1: warning: data definition has no type or storage class [enabled by default] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:188:1: warning: type defaults to ‘int’ in declaration of ‘EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL’ [-Wimplicit-int] /home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.c:188:1: warning: parameter names (without types) in function declaration [enabled by default] make[3]: *** [/home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma/main.o] Error 1 make[2]: *** [/home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1/drivers/bcma] Error 2 make[1]: *** [_module_/home/marco/compat-wireless-3.1.1-1] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-headers-3.2.0-31-generic' make: *** [modules] Error 2 Any suggestion what to try next?

  • Excessive PHP errors in Joomla

    - by Rodnower
I have Joomla 2.5 installed on Windows 7 with Apache 2 and PHP 5. I have countless PHP errors in the log like the following: [01-Sep-2012 19:33:55 UTC] PHP Strict standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference in C:\ammon_dev\ammon\plugins\system\jquery\jquery.php on line 24 [01-Sep-2012 19:33:55 UTC] PHP Stack trace: [01-Sep-2012 19:33:55 UTC] PHP 1. {main}() C:\ammon_dev\ammon\administrator\index.php:0 [01-Sep-2012 19:33:55 UTC] PHP 2. Joomla isn’t in debug mode, and I am sure that I’m editing the correct copy of php.ini because other changes I make to it take effect. Any ideas why I am getting so many errors or how to stop it from exploding the log?

  • How do you replace a method of a Moose object at runtime?

    - by xxxxxxx
Is it possible to replace a method of a Moose object at runtime ? By looking at the source code of Class::MOP::Method (which Moose::Meta::Method inherits from) I concluded that by doing $method->{body} = sub{ my stuff } I would be able to replace at runtime a method of an object. I can get the method using $object->meta->find_method_by_name(<method_name>); However, this didn't quite work out. Is it conceivable to modify methods at run time? And, what is the way to do it with Moose?

  • error executing aapt, all of the sudden

    - by pjv
I know there are a lot of these topics around but none seem to help in my case, nor describe it exactly. The best similar one is aapt not found under the right path. My problem is that I can be using Eclipse for a whole evening programming, compiling and using my device, and then suddenly I get "error executing aapt" for my current project and ofcourse R.java isn't (properly) generated anymore. I then restart Eclipse and everything goes away. I'm seeing this once a day on average however. I've recently switched to amd64 and installed the latest Android-2.3 SDK and matching tools. I know that there is now a platform-tools folder that has an aapt version that should work SDK version independently. At first I had added this directory to my PATH, as instructed on the SDK website. I've also tried not adding it to my path and making a link platforms/android-9/tools so that every SDK version might use it's own old copy. Needless to say, platform-tools/aapt is there and has the right permissions, and I have been able to execute it on the command-line at any time. When I do write a faulty xml file or sorts, and appropriately get an error, I see an extra line that says "aapt: /lib32/libz.so.1: no version information available". I'm running a recent Gentoo linux system. I have everything installed to support x86 on amd64, but have re-emerged emul-linux-x86-baselibs and zlib just to be sure. The problem persists. I do see some pages that spell horror over some zlib bugs, but I'm not sure if that's related. I realize I'm not on the reference Ubuntu platform, but surely the difference cannot be that great? It might very well be a bug in aapt or the tools itself. Why would it suddenly stop working? I also experience that the ids in R.java were incorrect, namely that simple findViewById() code would give ClassCastExceptions because of mixed ids the one time, and then work perfectly without any changes bu only a "clean project", in the aftermath of a failing aapt. Finally, I've run a few commands on aapt, that don't seem to add any extra information: #ldd aapt ./aapt: /lib32/libz.so.1: no version information available (required by ./aapt) linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000) librt.so.1 => /lib32/librt.so.1 (0x4f864000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib32/libpthread.so.0 (0x4f849000) libz.so.1 => /lib32/libz.so.1 (0xf7707000) libstdc++.so.6 => /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.4.4/32/libstdc++.so.6 (0x415e9000) libm.so.6 => /lib32/libm.so.6 (0x4f876000) libgcc_s.so.1 => /lib32/libgcc_s.so.1 (0x4fac6000) libc.so.6 => /lib32/libc.so.6 (0x4f5ed000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x4f5ca000) #file aapt aapt: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.15, not stripped Can anybody tell anything wrong with my configuration? Does it smell like a bug perhaps (otherwise let's report it (again))? Update 2010-01-06: I've gained some more knowledge. When I recently was trying to export a signed apk, I ran into another error message (full details from the Eclipse error view) regarding aapt I hadn't seen before. Note here too, that I can just restart Eclipse and can export apks again without problems, at least for a little while. I'm starting to think it is related to lack of memory on my system. The message "onvoldoende geheugen beschikbaar" means "insufficient memory available". I have also been seeing insufficient memory errors in DDMS when I'm dumping HPROF files. Here is the error log (shortened): !ENTRY com.android.ide.eclipse.adt 4 0 2011-01-05 23:11:16.097 !MESSAGE Export Wizard Error !STACK 1 org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException: Failed to export application at com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.internal.project.ExportHelper.exportReleaseApk(Unknown Source) at com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.internal.wizards.export.ExportWizard.doExport(Unknown Source) at com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.internal.wizards.export.ExportWizard.access$0(Unknown Source) at com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.internal.wizards.export.ExportWizard$1.run(Unknown Source) at org.eclipse.jface.operation.ModalContext$ModalContextThread.run(ModalContext.java:121) Caused by: com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.internal.build.AaptExecException: Error executing aapt. • Can I use Visual Studio 2010's compiler with Visual Studio 2008's Runtime Library?

    - by BillyONeal
Hello everyone :) I have an application that needs to operate on Windows 2000. I'd also like to use Visual Studio 2010 (mainly because of the change in the definition of the auto keyword). However, I'm in a bit of a bind because I need the app to be able to operate on older OS's, namely: Windows 2000 Windows XP RTM Windows XP SP1 Visual Studio 2010's runtime library depends on the EncodePointer / DecodePointer API which was introduced in Windows XP SP2. If using the alternate runtime library is possible, will this break code that relies on C++0x features added in VS2010, like std::regex?

  • flex open source sdk compile error of samples on linux

    - by Oki
I downloaded lastest version of flex open source sdk. I wanted to compile some samples specifically explorer example. At first build.sh gave me weird error and with little search I nailed it by converting all bash files and mxml files with dos2unix. It is file type error. However now I get this error ./build.sh Error: Could not resolve <mx:Script> to a component implementation. <mx:Script> When I execute build.sh, some of the samples give this weird error. I searched this error on the net, their solution is to add -Duser.language=en -Duser.region=US as jre parameters. However, this solution is for Turkish Windows XP. My system is Pardus, yet another linux distribution.

  • Online compilers/runtime for Java, C++, Python and ObjC?

    - by Nocturne
Does anyone know of a good online compiler/runtime (for C++, Java, Python, ObjC etc.) that I can access on the web? What I'm looking for is something that would allow me to type in a program in a web form and to run the program and see the results online. (Let's not get into the why for now. Suffice it to say for the moment that I don't always have access to a compiler/runtime, and firing up an IDE is just overkill for testing out some code snippets) I know of codepad.org -- but I'm looking for something better.

  • MySQL error: Can't find symbol '_mysql_plugin_interface_version_' in library

    - by Josh Smith
The boring, necessary details: I'm on Snow Leopard running MySQL locally. I'm trying to install the Sphinx engine for MySQL like so: mysql> install plugin sphinx soname 'sphinx.so'; ERROR 1127 (HY000): Can't find symbol '_mysql_plugin_interface_version_' in library I've Googled everywhere and can't seem to find an actual solution to this problem. For example this issue on the Sphinx forums seems unresolved. Someone else also raised this issue with similar results. The first post linked to an O'Reilly article which says: There is a common problem that might occur at this point: ERROR 1127 (HY000): Can't find symbol '_mysql_plugin_interface_version_' in library If you see a message like this, it is likely that you forgot to include the -DMYSQL_DYNAMIC_PLUGIN option when compiling the plugin. Adding this option to the g++ compile line is required to create a dynamically loadable plug-in. But the article ends on that point; I have no idea what this means or how to resolve the issue.

  • HP D530 Startup Error: 512 - Chassis Fan Not Detected

    - by lyrikles
I'm using the HP D530 Motherboard/CPU that I installed in a new case with a 600W PSU. There was a problem with the onboard chassis fan connector (3-wire) not supplying sufficient power to the chassis fan indicated by the fan spinning very slowly, but I never experienced the "512 Error" at boot. Also, the same fan works perfectly connected directly to the PSU. I disconnected it since I already have plenty of fans connected via the PSU directly. Since then, on startup, I get the error: "512 - Chassis Fan Not Detected" and am asked to "Press F1 to continue". This gets quite annoying since I use this machine remotely (w/ FreeNAS). What could be causing the onboard fan connector to not be giving enough power? If this is unable to be corrected, how can I make the BIOS think there's a chassis fan plugged in without actually plugging a fan into the onboard connector? Would it be possible to jumper the pins without damaging the motherboard or PSU? Thanks,Erik

  • Randomly getting a 500 error on my website

    - by randylahey
I am randomly getting a 500 error on my websites, all of which are hosted on a shared server. It won't happen all the time, just randomly when I will refresh the page I will get a 500 error. It usually will come back after I refresh a few times. I've been reading about it and have heard that .htaccess files can cause this... I did recently start using an .htaccess file to tell my server to start using php 5. I got the code straight from the hosting company that I am with. This is what is in the .htaccess file: AddType x-mapp-php5 .php If anyone has any ideas as to what would be causing this, that would really help. Thanks!

  • Error logging with PHP and mod_fcgid

    - by nbv4
I have a mediawiki install that is acting up. Whenever I try to save an article, it goes to a blank screen. All though if I refresh that blank screen, it will go on to work. I have no idea why it's doing that, but it seems to be that it's a problem with PHP. I guess by default errors don't get logged when using mod_fcgid, because I can't find an error log anywhere. I tried enabling logging in the /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini, but that didn't do anything. How do I achieve php error logging? I'm using ubuntu 9.10.

  • OSX: Python packages fail to install, error message "/usr/local/bin: File Exists"

I keep trying to install django and other python packages, and I keep getting the exact same error message: Installing django-admin.py script to /usr/local/bin error: /usr/local/bin: File exists So I look to make sure that my /usr/local folder is okay. Peculiar, I thought, so then I tried a Anchorage:local khotchkiss$ ls -a -l total 26168 drwxr-xr-x 6 root wheel 204 Dec 26 20:18 . drwxr-xr-x@ 14 root wheel 476 Feb 24 12:54 .. -rwxr-xr-x@ 1 root wheel 13395080 Oct 22 23:04 bin drwxr-xr-x 8 root wheel 272 Dec 26 20:18 git drwxr-xr-x 4 root wheel 136 Dec 18 11:31 include drwxr-xr-x 12 root wheel 408 Dec 18 11:31 lib And haven't a clue of what the 'bin' is, why its so large, and why its preventing me from installing python packages. Any clue?

  • webmin bind issue- error when i try to start bind

    - by Arvind
I am setting up a domain = mydomain.com with 2 nameservers ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com in Webmin - BIND. For this, I have registered 2 child nameservers at my domain registrar, and in Webmin-Bind I have set up a new zone for this domain. In this zone, i have specified 2 nameserver records- one each for ns1 and ns2. Also, I have defined 2 address records- one each for ns1.mydomain.com -> IP Address #1 and for ns2.mydomain.com -> IP Address #2 However when I try to start BIND in Webmin, I get the following error-- Failed to start BIND : Starting named: Error in named configuration: zone mydomain.com/IN: has no NS records zone mydomain.com/IN: not loaded due to errors. _default/mydomain.com/IN: bad zone [FAILED]

  • Error with TextMate 2 --shell-escape and gnuplot 10.8.2

    - by Manuel
I have had TM 1.X since a long time ago, but a week ago I updated my system to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and installed TM2. The problem is that I write with LaTeX, and sometimes I use gnuplot for the graphs (I installed gnuplot with macports). But now it doesn't work because the --shell-escape doesn't work, this is the error message I get: Package pgfplots Error: Sorry, the gnuplot-result file '"untitled 2.pgf-plot.table"' could not be found. Maybe you need to enable the shell-escape feature? For pdflatex, this is ' pdflatex -shell-escape'. You can also invoke ' gnuplot .gnuplot' manually on the respective gnuplot file.. And then, looking around I discovered that it's not just gnuplot but everything which needs --shell-escape. Question What happened? How can I get TM have the correct rights so this works? It worked right in Snow Leopard with TM 1.5.

  • Windows Handling Piped Comands Error Redirection

    - by jpmartins
Warning: I am no expert on building scripts, and sorry for lousy English. In an case of generating a CSV from a database query I'm using the following commands. ... CALL java.exe -classpath ... com.xigole.util.sql.Jisql -user dmfodbc -pf pwd.file -driver com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybDriver -cstring %constr% -c ; -input 42.sql -formatter csv -delimiter ; 2%LOGFILE% | CALL grep -v -e "SELECT right" -e "executing: " -e " rows affect" %FicheiroR% 2%LOGFILE% ... I'm using windows implementation of grep. The 2%LOGFILE% in both java and grep command is causing an error message indicating the file is being use by another process. The Ugly workaround i have came up with is to put grep error redirect to a temporary %LOGFILE%.aux java ... | grep ... 2%LOGFILE%.aux type %LOGFILE%.aux % %LOGFILE% del %LOGFILE%.aux What is a better solution?

  • S3200SH error 5220 every boot (CMOS/NVRAM Cleared by jumper)

    - by TechAUmNu
I have a S3200SH Intel server board with a Intel Xeon 3220 Quad Core. Every time I boot it, I get error 5220 (CMOS/NVRAM Cleared by jumper). The jumper is not installed and I have replaced the lithium battery. The board overheated once, although still seems to work fine apart from this error. Also if I leave the board sitting in the bios for a while it sometimes randomly turns off, with all 4 diagnostic LED's red. I have moved the 2GB DIMM to another slot, which seems to have fixed this problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  • "Access Denied" error when starting Windows Security Center service

    - by Isxek
I am working on a laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) which had previous issues with Microsoft Security Essentials. I've removed the previous installation of Security Essentials and reinstalled it. There's no problem with the said antivirus now, but after a couple of days it was brought back to me because of the error about Windows Security Center service not being started. I've tried setting it to start Automatically instead of "Delayed Start", but I still keep getting "Error 5: Access is Denied." I've searched other possible solutions but it's mostly been either what I did already or "Don't worry about it." Any ideas? Thanks in advance! EDIT: I've scanned the system with both Malwarebytes AM and SUPERAntiSpyware and have found no traces of anything. EDIT2: I have also tried running sfc /scannow to see if the files might be damaged. Got the message no integrity violations were found, however.

So, I did yum install expect, corrected the path and the error was gone. But not able to remove the other 3 errors still.

  • Running a defect php file cause error 500

    - by John Brunner
When I address a PHP file, I always get an error 500. I've looked up the logs of my Apache server, and this displays that some includes etc. in the PHP file address files which don't exist on the server. They don't exist because I'm just testing my PHP file. But could it be achieved that the server runs the php file in every case, even when something is wrong? Every 30 seconds an entry is made in the error_log file which says [Sat Jun 09 17:55:07 2012] [error] [client 10.224.55.160] File does not exist: /var/www/html/index.html ... but there IS an index.html?!

  • Ubuntu 14.04LTS - runtime video card configuration through Radeon driver

    - by RJVB
How does one configure Radeon video cards when using the open source Radeon driver - power profile, vsync, etc? Why I try the widely documented solution (against overheating) that worked for me under LMDE (confirmed with kernels up to 3.12.6), I get the following error: $ sudo cat /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_profile default $ sudo sh -c "echo mid > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_profile" sh: echo: I/O error Exit 1 And when I try suggestions from Arch's ATI wiki my modifications are simply ignored: $ sudo cat /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_dpm_force_performance_level auto $ sudo sh -c "echo high> /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_dpm_force_performance_level" $ sudo cat /sys/class/drm/card0/device/power_dpm_force_performance_level auto Is this something Ubuntu specific, or something introduced with the 3.13 version of the Radeon driver? I'm encountering this on 2 laptops, one with a Radeon HD6290 (integrated GPU), the other with a discrete RV710 card. The RV710 needs a specific power setting to prevent overheating under LMDE, fortunately it doesn't seem to overheat with the Ubuntu default setting.

  • Darik's Boot And Nuke - ERROR /dev/sda

    - by user1403844
I'm trying to wipe the drive of an old company computer with DBAN so I can install Redhat Enterprise and learn Linux (it's a Dell Inspiron 1210, if that matters). I burnt DBAN to a CD and boot from that CD (running on an external USB CD drive). Whenever I try to run the utility--whether it's Autonuke, or any of manual wiping methods-- it spits on the errors: ERROR /dev/sdb ERROR /dev/sda From what I've read on some other forums, there are some issues with other drives or removable media interfering however I've disabled all other drives in bios, leaving just CD/DVD and the Hard Disk but still no luck. Any advice on how I can reconcile these errors and wipe the disk?
