  • How to create a temporary staging server on my home machine [closed]

    Possible Duplicate: What things required to host a website at home I want to create a temporary staging server which can be accessed (i.e. via browser) by other people that I want to show the website to (a business partner who is half way accross the world). IIRC, my ISP issues dynamic addresses so I may need to register with a (DNS server?) - not sure about this. Although I'm a software developer, I don't know much about the hardware side of things - and would appreciate help in getting me setup so I can show a website to a business partner. Here are the relevant details: Web server: Apache 2.2 OS: Ubuntu 10.0.4 LTS modem/router: ZyXel P-600

  • Temporary animations

    I've been trying to find a tutorial on how to best make animations in Android. I already have some animations for my enemies and my character that are controlled by rectangles and changing rectangleframe between updates using a picture like this: When I'm shooting my enemies they lose HP, and when their HP == 0 they get removed. aslong as im using an arrayList (which I do for all enemies and bullets) I'm fine, since I can just use list.remove(i). But when I'm on a boss-level and the Boss's HP == 0, I want to remove him and play an animation of an explosion of stars before the "End-screen". Is there a preferred way to do temporary animations like this? If you can give me an example or redirect me to a tutorial, I'd be really grateful!

  • Silly CSS ref problem.

    Hi All, I am having a very weird problem. I cannot for the life of me figure it out. The code for my page (at the moment), is this: <link rel="stylesheet" href="assets/css/default.css" /> But, why does it not load the stylesheet? When I move the stylesheet into the same location as the index.html page, and then change the references to it to point to the root dir, it works again? It never wants to work if the stylesheet is any more than 1 directory deep. Is this normal? Or should it still work?

Here is a sample of my code: using (ServerManager serverManager = new ServerManager(webSite)) { ConfigurationSection anonymousAuthenticationSection = config.GetSection( @"system.webServer/security/authentication/anonymousAuthentication", webSite); anonymousAuthenticationSection["enabled"] = true; serverManager.CommitChanges(); return "true"; } This throws an exception and the message is: Cannot read configuration file due to insufficient permissions. Can someone help?

  • IIS Directory listing doesn't reconize .mkv files

    Hello I use the directory listing function in IIS to upload a bunch of files for friends and family to easy access and download. My problem is that .mkv files it lists but when you click it i get a 'The page cannot be found'. Ive tried relocating the file and renaming it but i get the same error each time. Why does it do this? Its only my .mkv files everything else works perfectly. Thanks in advance.

    For a user in active directory, the properties hold values for lastlogontime & lastlogontimestamp but the logoncount is 0. I am having only one domain controller in that domain. I found from surfing, that logonCount value of 0 indicates that the value is unknown. But I am totally confused with why it is unknown. Is that an issue with AD.

Managing the test groups and users during development is getting tedious.
