    I've been using gmail's SMTP server to send email (notifications, password reminder, etc) in my web application. However, i'm getting to the point where i'm reaching the limit of 500 sent emails per day using gmail's SMTP. Is there any SMTP service's that I can use instead? A friend told me about sendgrid.com, but that's the only one i've heard of.

    Hi, I want to make an application for my phone (Nokia N900) It uses the Maemo Platform, which is a Linux variant. Most applications are made with either QT or Python, i only have experience in C#, and am wondering if it is at all possible to convert C# to QT, or would i have to use something like Mono or Vala to write the code in C# and create the applications for the N900??     Let's say I managed to get the dictionary opened for iTunes in the Applescript editor: How would I access the "search" commands using Python with pyobjc? I know I get can hold of the iTunes application using: iTunes = SBApplication.applicationWithBundleIdentifier_("com.apple.iTunes") but after I do a dir on it, I don't see the search command in the returned dictionary. Help please!

    I wonder how long will an ASP.NET (MVC) application run, when no new requests come in? Lets say I'm using an IOC Container ans have a Singleton Object serving to the clients. As far as I know it will serve different page requests. But how long will it live when no new request come in? Is there any timeout (maybe configured through IIS) that says when my app will shut down?

Sample process: Develop it: Patch bugs, add features, etc. Feature Freeze (do not fix, add anything unless it's absolutely required) Test it If everything is OK release it, if it's not fix it, test it, release it I think the most crucial question is what's your approach to "feature freeze test release" cycle? Or do you test it more frequently that you don't need such a cycle and your software is always ready for public release?

  • Alarm not working if application gets killed

    Hi, I am trying to use an alarm to set my widget layout after some minutes. Everything works correctly in normal situation but, if I try to delete the process of my application, simulating a system kill, after the alarm is set, then no alarm is executed. Why?     Hi, I just deployed a web application on JBOSS 4.2. It can be accessed locally only (http://localhost:8080/myApp). I cant access it from remote computer by typing its domain: (www.hostname.com:8080/myApp). I added Port 8080 as Exception in Windows Firewall. Note that the host (www.hostname.com) is reachable from remote computers via IIS on port 80. Thanks, Rod

    Hello, I have an application that have EF 16 classes that share this information: They all are classes only with a key field and a description. I think it should be a waste if I make a controller with just 1 method just to present a form to fill these classes info, then I was thinking in to make a generic form(with key, description) and dynamically fill the right class through a sort of selection the selected info in any way, any good suggestion or pattern to do that? Where the generic methods should be located.

    Hello For an embedded system with internet (which works under a set-top box) I want to develop a primitive Facebook interface where users can type their user-names and password, showing their latest notificationsa, messages and other casual stuff via the recent Facebook Graph API. This middleware program uses Java ME to run programs (such as this simple facebook app) and it can connect to internet however it doesn't have a real web browser. Under this circumstance, is it possible to achieve such Facebook application? If you think so, what approach would you suggest ? Thanks

  • Display an Image using C# in Web Application

    Hello again, I have a Web Application that I built a C# class in that generates a Report. This report takes nearly 40 seconds to generate because it searches hundreds of folders for certain files. So I was hoping there was a way to display a "Loading.." icon as this report is generating. I have a gif stored in my Images folder that would be perfect. The research that I've done at this point mostly talks about picturebox's and image controls that can hold the image but I was hoping there was just a way of displaying the image above the report while its being created. The Web Application is from a Web ADF Geocortex website and again I created a C# class that generates this report.     I am adding functionality to an ASP.Net webforms application and we've decided that new development will be done MVC with a view to move all functionality over eventually. Obviously, MVC and WebForms play together rather nicely when it comes to accessing an MVC action via a URL. However, I'd like to display the MVC view within an existing tab (telerik) control on a WebForm page. This view will be using js/css file so that will need to be considered also.
