• Windows XP: How to delete files that cannot be deleted?

  I have a backup copy of my previous Documents and Settings folder which only contains my original user and within that, 2 directories (Favorites and Local Settings) which are visible in cmd shell but when I try to delete them, Windows gives me this error: If I try to delete the Documents and Settings folder, I receive this warning: I tried doing this in a cmd shell: attrib *.* -r -a -s -h /s But it did not help, nor did it return any errors/warnings. Unlocker 1.8.5 returns: No Locking handle found. Any ideas?

• Different PATH environment variable for 32bit and 64bit Windows - is it possible?

  Is it possible to have whole or part of PATH environment variable specific to the type of running process's image (32bit/64bit)? When I run some app from within 64bit cmd.exe I would like to have it pick the 64bit version of OpenSSL library whereas when I run some app from within 32bit cmd.exe I would like to have it pick the 32bit version of OpenSSL library. FOLLOW UP where.exe does not find OpenSSL libs when %ProgramFiles% variable is used in the PATH environment variable

  New website Nice, isn't it? Cleaner, simpler, better looking and more modern. If you have any suggestions for further improvements I'd be glad to hear them. Simpler licensing With SSMS tools Pack 2.7 the licensing is finally where it should be. It is now based on the activate/deactivate model. This way you can move a license from machine to machine with simple deactivation on one and reactivation on another machine. Much better, no? Because of very good feedback I have added an option for 6 machines and lowered the 4 machines option to 3 machines. This should make it much simpler for you to choose the right option for yourself. Improved features Version 2.5.3 was already extremely stable and 2.7 continues with that tradition. Because of that I could fully focus on features and why 3.0 will rock even more that 2.7! ;) In version 2.7 I have addressed quite a few improvements you were requesting for a while now. SQL History This is probably the biggest time saver out there, therefore it's only fair it gets a few important updates. If you have an existing .sql file opened, the Window Content History now saves your code to that existing file and also makes a backup in the SQL History log default location. Search is still done through the SQL History log but the Tab Sessions Restore opens your existing .sql file. This way you don't have to remember to save your existing files by yourself anymore. A bug when you couldn't search properly if you copied the log files to a new location was fixed. Unfortunately this removed the option to filter a search with the time component. The smallest search interval is now one day. The SSMS Tools Pack now remembers the visibility of the Current Window History window when you exit SSMS. SQL Snippets You can now set the position of the cursor in your snippets by placing {C} somewhere in your snippet. It's a small improvement but can be a huge time saver since you don't have to move through the snippet to the desired location anymore. Run script on multiple databases Database choices can now be saved with a name and then loaded again next time. You can also choose to run the script in a new window for each chosen database. Search through grid results You can now go previous/next search result with the Prev/Next control inside the search window. This is extremely useful if you have a large resultset. IT saves you the scrolling. CRUD generator Four new variables have been added: |CurrentDate| writes current date in format yyyy-MM-dd to your script |CurrentTime| writes current time in 24h format HH:mm:ss to your script |CurrentWinUser| writes current Windows logged on user to your script |CurrentSqlUser| writes current SQL logged on login to your script This was actually quite a requested feature so if you have any other ideas for extra variables, do let me know. • Windows XP running as OpenSSH server through cygwin. Can I remotely execute MS-DOS commands?

  I tried typing cmd or cmd.exe at the bash line which then takes to the DOS shell. But from there I tried executing something like trial.bat which contains some lines to access a series of executable commands, but to no avail. Is this the correct way to go about it? Thanks ~

  Hi All, I am using JQuery for the first time today. I can't make it to work (It simple doesnt show up). I want to display inline content using Thickbox (Eventually I will be displaying a PDF in an iframe). The questions are as follows: Is there a serious processing overhead if I were to include these items in EVERY page (like in the Site.Master for example) thus negating the need for the HtmlHelper to organise the "includes" - considering there would end up being about 20 includes for all the different types of jQuery UI widgets used throughout the site. If the HtmlHelper sorts out the "includes", it will add one every time this DatePicker is used (often there are two on a page) Does anyone have a way of determining whether or not the user has already rendered the same type of control on the page, thus not re-including the same jquery libraries when multiple instances of the DatePicker (for example) are used?

  How do I properly register javascript blocks in an ASP.NET MVC 2 (RTM) Editor template? The specific scenario I'm in is that I want to use Dynarch JSCal2 DateTimePicker for my standard datetime picker, but this question is in general to any reusable javascript package.   I'm trying to get client validation working on my asp.net mvc 2 web application (Visual Studio 2010). The client side validation IS working. However the validation summary is not. I would like to be able to work on the HTML that's inside the Perl script and check it out using a web browser, and only run the script when the HTML is the way I want. To accomplish this, I need the file to be openable both as an HTML file and as a Perl script. I have tried various tricks with Perl comments and HTML comments but can't get it quite perfect. It doesn't have to be "strictly legal" HTML... just displayable in a browser with no (or minimal) Perl garbage visible.

  Hi, Is this code solid? I've tried to use "using" etc. Basically a method to pass as sequenced list of SQL commands to be run against a Sqlite database. I assume it is true that in sqlite by default all commands run in a single connection are handled transactionally? Is this true? i.e. I should not have to (and haven't got in the code at the moment) a BeginTransaction, or CommitTransaction.   I'm trying to integrate Facebook connect to my website. The login button appears and i'm able to login. The profile picture and the name is displayed properly. However when I try adding the code FB.Connect.ifUserConnected, I get a error message saying FB.Connect is not defined. • Passing in defaults within window.onload?

  I now understand that the following code will not work because I'm assigning window.onload to the result of the function, not the function itself. But if I remove the parens, I suspect that I have to explicitly call a separate function to process the config before the onload. • How to fix a Sticky Footer that works, but after a browser window is resized, the footer overlaps.

  Good day, I've been trying to build a perfect footer who sticks at the bottom of the browser window after it's content. And I got help here @ Stack Overflow previously. But after a while, and doing a few tests, found out that after the browser window is resized, and then I scroll down , the footer overlaps...it is causing me a big headache right now and I'd like to fix this so I can move on. • jQuery UI ThemeRoller - Installing themes

  I'm trying to install jQuery UI with a ThemeRoller theme for the first time. I've downloaded jquery 1.4.2... I've downloaded jQuery UI with a couple of themes. I've tried to follow the instructions but they seem contradictory and don't seem to related to the downloaded files. When I try to use a datepicker... the datepicker functionality works, but it has the default (grey) style. This page refers to a folder/sub-folder/css files that don't exist. This page refers to a ui.theme.css file that doesn't exist. The downloads I received included the following: --demos --docs --external --themes ----base ----[theme name] --ui ----i8n ----minified --js So what do you put where? I've copied the js to the appropriate directory and linked it into my page. And I copied the themes/base folder as well, and linked into the jquery.ui.all.css file. Even the included demos only display the default (grey) styling. Where am I going wrong? • Dojo addOnLoad, but is Dojo loaded?

  I've encountered what seems like a chicken & egg problem, and have what I think is a logical solution. However, it occurred to me that others must have encountered something similar, so I figured I'd float it out there for the masses. The situation is that I want to use dojo's addOnLoad function to queue up a number of callbacks which should be executed after the DOM has completed rendering on the client side. So what I'm doing is as follows: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="dojo.xd.js"></script> ... </head> <body> ... <script type="text/javascript"> dojo.addOnLoad( ... ); dojo.addOnLoad( ... ); ... </script> </body> </html> Now, the issue is that I seem to be calling dojo.addOnLoad before the entire Dojo library has been downloaded the browser. This makes sense in a way, because the inline SCRIPT contents should be executed before the entire DOM is loaded (and the normal body onload callback is triggered). My question is this - is my approach sound, or would it make more sense to register a normal/standard body onload JavaScript callback to call a function, which does the same work that each of the dojo.addOnLoads is doing in the SCRIPT block. Of course, this begs the question, why would you ever then use dojo.addOnLoad if you're not guaranteed that the Dojo library will be loaded prior to using the library? Hopefully this situation makes sense to someone other than me. Seems like someone else may have encountered this situation. Thoughts? Best Regards, Adam Rice
