  I'm getting the infamous invalid number Oracle error. Hibernate is issuing an INSERT with a lot of columns, I want to know just the name of the column giving the problem. Is it possible? I hate Oracle messages, in 15 years they haven't improved a bit (the reason why is beyond my imagination). • Creating an Excel file using .NET (C#) - Problems with columns headers!

  Hello, I want to create & fill a .xls file using ADO.NET or LINQ, but I do not want to have the columns names in the first row. I just want to insert rows starting in row no. 1. I know I have to insert colums first, but... is there a way to 'hide' those columns headers? The problem is that, in first row of my spreadsheet, I must have only two values (one in A1 and the other in B1), but in the remaining rows I'll be inserting more than just two values (maximum 15 columns). I'm open to suggestions/hacks/tricks even if that's not the best way of doing this. Thanks!

  I really wish Processing had push and pop methods for working with Arrays, but since it does not I'm left trying to figure out the best way to remove an object at a specific position in an array. I'm sure this is as basic as it gets for many people, but I could use some help with it, and I haven't been able to figure much out by browsing the Processing reference. • Parsing a DateTime containing milliseconds fails for certain cultures. Why?

  I'm trying to parse a string containing milliseconds like this: string s = "11.05.2010 15:03:08.7718687"; // culture: de-CH DateTime d = DateTime.Parse(s); // works However, for example under the de-DE locale, the decimal separator is a comma (not a dot). So the example becomes: string s = "11.05.2010 15:03:08,7718687"; // culture: de-DE (note the comma) DateTime d = DateTime.Parse(s); // throws a FormatException It is weird to me that DateTime.Parse(s) should throw a FormatException now as it is supposed to use the CultureInfo.CurrentCulture to do the parsing. Even passing the CurrentCulture as an argument explicitly does not help neither. Does anybody have an idea why this does not work? Doesn't parsing take the NumberFormatInfo.NumberDecimalSeparator into account?

• Help using Horner's rule and Hash Functions in JAVA?

  I am trying to use Horner's rule to convert words to integers. I understand how it works and how if the word is long, it may cause an overflow. My ultimate goal is to use the converted integer in a hash function h(x)=x mod tableSize. My book suggests, because of the overflow, you could "apply the mod operator after computing each parenthesized expression in Horner's rule." I don't exactly understand what they mean by this. Say the expression looks like this: ((14*32+15)*32+20)*32+5 Do I take the mod tableSize after each parenthesized expression and add them together? What would it look like with this hash function and this example of Horner's rule?

  Here is the deal : I need to find the closest points from a point with a radius. For example, I need to get all the points in a 15 km radius. Thats easy with Google Maps Radius and all the examples on the web ;) The problem is that from my office, a point is under the 15km radius, but it's on the other side of a river, so the car itinerary is about 30 km (using a bridge)! Is there a simple solution to exclude those points or to calculate by intineraries ? I supposed that I'll need to calculate all itineraries with returned points? DirectionsRequest API? Thanks! :)

  System: Window 7 Internet Explorer 8 Ruby 1.8 Watir 1.6.5 If I manually open a browser window and then visit a site that causes a second browser window to open and then use the Watir::IE.attach method to find the second browser window everything work fine. The problem is when I open the first Internet Explorer window with the command Watir::IE.new and then visit a site that causes a second browser window to open. • How to improve IntelliJ code editor speed?

  I am using IntelliJ (Community Edition) for several months, and at first I'm pleased about its speed & simplicity. But now, after upgrading to version 10, it's extremely slow. Sometimes I click a file then it takes 5 - 15 seconds to open that file (it freeze for that time). I don't know if I have done anything which cause that: I have installed 2 plugins(regex, sql), and have 2 versions of IntelliJ on my machine (now the version 9 removed, only version 10 remains). Is there any tips to improve speed of code editor, in general, or specifically IntelliJ? I have some experience when using IntelliJ: 1. Should open IntelliJ a while before working, cause it needs time for indexing. Don't open too many code tabs Open as less other program as possible. I'm using 2 GB RAM WinXP, and it just seems fairly enough for Java, IntelliJ & Chrome at the same time.

The relation between attachments and categories I made by myself using the WordPress default method.
