    We are currently looking at developing flash based applications (using Flex) in a web application. We are now leaning towards to use SVG rapheljs for developing this components. The questions are: Is still SVG platform is widely adopted by browsers (without any plug-ins) are at least down the line of 8-10 months, any adoption is expected by browsers? Cross-browser support is god for us. Is SVG can replace for a small time animation based programming instead of Flash Any comments will be greatly appreciated...

  • GDI handles in a DotNET application

    My pure DotNET library runs as a plugin inside an unmanaged desktop application. I've been getting a steady (though low) stream of crash reports that seem to indicate a problem with GDI handles (fonts in error messages etc. revert to the system font, display of all sorts of controls break down, massive crash shortly after). My Forms have few controls, but I do a lot of GDI+ drawing in User controls. What's a good way to tell how many handles I'm using, or even leaking? Thanks, David

    Hi all, I'm writing a Python+Qt4 application that would ideally need to pop up a window every once in a while, to display pdf documents and allow very basic operations, namely scrolling through the different pages and printing the document. I've found the reportLab to create pdf files, but nothing about pdf viewers. Does anyone knows anything that might help. i was really hoping for the existence of something like the QWebView widget... thanks in advance to all

    Hi, I'm trying to use NServiceBus to make 4 applications communicating together. All these applications have to act as Publisher and Subscriber. The only way i founded ti get it workiing is to create a "master" queue named Server, on which MessageEndpointMappings in all applications configuration is mapped to, but i think it's not the good way ... So how should i configure NServiceBus on all these application to get this working ? Thanks.

    Hi, i'm looking for a way to ship the python interpreter with my application (also written in python), so that it doesn't need to have python installed on the machine. I searched google and found a bunch of results about how to embed the python interpreter in applications written in various languages, but nothing for applications writtent in python itself... I don't need to "hide" my code or make a binary like cx_freeze does, i just don't want my users to have to install python to use my app, that's all. Thanks.

By increasing the font size, the button stays the same width but increases in height, meaning it's long and thin. Is there a way to 'scale up' .NET controls so they are large in size for touchscreen applications?

  • Android insertImage and the Gallery Application

    I am adding a bmp file to the media store using the line below ContentResolver cr = getContentResolver(); Uri uri = Uri.parse(MediaStore.Images.Media.insertImage(cr, bmp, "name", "now")); I then go to the gallery application and it shows the image, but shows it under "Camera Pictures". Is there a way to change this to its own group, perhaps to its own group? Do I need a custom content provider for this? Thanks.

    Few days ago all was ok: when I started my web-site with Silverlight 4.0 application with F5 in Visual Studio debugger was connecting to Silverlight automatically, but now it doesn't. I've tried to attach manually from "Debug"-"Attach to process" with "Attach to" option set into "Silverlight code" value. But my breakpoints are still "disabled"... Why? How can I resolve that?     Hi, I having a hard time to consume this webservice https://www.arello.com/webservice/verify.cfc?wsdl in my rails application. I successfully generated the ruby files with the wsdl2ruby.rb but when un run the generated script I get the following error: at depth 0 - 20: unable to get local issuer certificate OpenSSL::SSL::SSLError: SSL_connect returned=1 errno=0 state=SSLv3 read server certificate B: certificate verify failed I also tried to connect via this script but same issue require 'http-access2' client = HTTPAccess2::Client.new() client.ssl_config.set_trust_ca('/arello.cert') puts client.get('https://www.arello.com/webservice/verify.cfc?wsdl').content Any ideas? Thanks
