    Hi, I was wondering if there is some configuration, built-in functionality in tomcat that logs the URLs people are using to reach your website? for example: http://www.mypage.com/1.htm http://www.mypage.com/2.htm http://www.mypage.com/3.htm etc etc Can we enable some tomcat setting that would log which pages are being accessed the most?     I have two .net web services deployed to the same IIS server using SSL, one that references the other. If I set that web reference to 'localhost', some calls fail with this exception: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. --- System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server --- System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it If I set it to the actual machine name, it works.   • rails: actionmailer not logging

    I'm setting up actionmailer in rails but don't see where it logs errors and therefore cannot troubleshoot. I've got the delivery_errors turned on in environments/development.rb: config.action_mailer.raise_delivery_errors = true I'm not seeing anything logged in development.log related to emailing. Does actionmailer log to somewhere else or what am I missing? Thanks!

  • How to merge a "branch" that isn't really a branch (wasn't created by an svn copy)

    I'm working on a team with lots of people who are pretty unfamiliar with the concepts of version control systems, and are just kind of doing whatever seems to work, by trial and error. Someone created a "branch" from the trunk that is not ancestrally related to the trunk. My guess is it went something like this: They created a folder in branches. They checked out all the code from the trunk to somewhere on their desktop. They added all that code to the newly created folder as though it was a bunch of brand new files. So the repository isn't aware that all that code is actually just a copy of the trunk. When I look at the history of that branch in TortoiseSVN, and uncheck the "Stop on copy/rename" box, there is no revision that has the trunk (or any other path) under the "Copy from path" column. Then they made lots of changes on their "branch". Meanwhile, others were making lots of changes on the trunk. We tried to do a merge and of course it doesn't work. Because, the trunk and the fake branch are not ancestrally related. I can see only two ways to resolve this: Go through the logs on the "branch", look at every change that was made, and manually apply each change to the trunk. Go through the logs on the trunk, look at every change that was made between revision 540 (when the "branch" was created) and HEAD, and manually apply each change to the "branch". This involves 7 revisions one way or 11 revisions the other way, so neither one is really that terrible. But is there any way to cause the repository to "realize" that the branch really IS ancestrally related even though it was created incorrectly, so that we can take advantage of the built-in merging functionality in Eclipse/TortoiseSVN? (You may be wondering: Why did your company hire these people and allow them to access the SVN repository without making sure they knew how to use it properly first?! We didn't -- this is a school assignment, which is a collaboration between two different classes -- the ones in the lower class were given a very quick hand-wavey "overview" of SVN which didn't really teach them anything. I've asked everyone in the group to please PLEASE read the svn book, and I'll make sure we (the slightly more experienced half of the team) keep a close eye on the repository to ensure this doesn't happen again.)

    I'm using struts2 with freemarker (included in struts2 lib) and i'm trying to speed up my web-app. In the logs continuously appear: UIBean.debug(57) | Rendering template /template/xhtml/a FreemarkerTemplateEngine.debug(57) | Rendering template /template/simple/a.ftl and this for each tag. The problem is that i don't know if it's normal, i just set properties for caching templates: struts.properties: struts.freemarker.templatesCache=true and freemarker.properties: template_update_delay=60000

    I am using JSP, Struts 1.3 and Apache Tomcat 5.5. For some reason response from JSP is being truncated and complete information is not shown. Class generated from the problem JSP page looks just fine. There are no any errors logged in Catalina's logs. I have no idea how this issue can be fixed.

    I have SharePoint 2010 configured for Claims Based Authentication with both Windows and Forms Based Authentication (FBA) for external users. I also need to develop custom WCF Services. The issue is that I want Windows credentials passed into the WCF Service(s); however, I cannot seem to get the Windows credentials passed into the services. My custom WCF service appears to be using Anonymous authentication (which has to be enabled in IIS in order to display the FBA login screen).     I'm Working as deployer and server administrator. We use Jboss 4.0x AS to deploy our applications. The issue I'm facing is, Whenever we redeploy/restart the server, server.log is getting created but after sometime the logging goes off. Yes it is not at all updating the server.log file. Due to this, we could not trace the other critical issues we have. Actually we have two separate nodes and we do deploy/restarting the server separately on two nodes. We are facing the issue in both of our test and production environment. I could not trace out where exactly the issue is. Could you please help me in resolving the issue? If we have any other issues, we can check the log files. If log itself is not getting updated/logged, how can we move further in analyzing the issues without the recent/updated logs?   • how to configure jetty 7 to use syslog or log4j

    I am looking for a way to direct all the jetty 7 logging to syslog. My current configuration dumps everything to JETTY_HOME/logs/.. After some initial ivestigation, it seems I should change JETTY_HOME/etc/jetty-logging.xml, but this does not look straightforward. It looks like I should create a new PrintStream implementation which sends its output to syslog and redirecting stderr and stdout to that class in jetty-logging.xml. any easier way to do that or to make jetty log directly to log4j ?   • simple yet secure encrypt / decrypt asp to asp.net

    First post here. I have a asp/vb6 web app that logs in a user I want to encrypt the users identity field and pass(querystring) it to a asp.net app and then decrypt it to do a db lookup. I've google'd it of course and found rot13, not secure enough. I've also found some hits on MD5 / RC4 but did not find any good examples of encrypt / decrypt. Thanks, Michael
