• Too many jquery plugins?

  I'm developing a website, but I realized that, in addition to the link to my main javascript file, and the link to the jquery file, it's beginning to look like I'm going to have links to three or more plugins also. I'm just wondering if this is good practice? The site I'm building is a web app, so I need a lot of functionality, but I don't want to be a plugin glutton. Is it considered good to append all the javascript plugins together into one file so as to only have to download one file, or will I run into problems?

I was trying to use .hide() and .show() instead of .remove() but it doesn't seem to work on IE6 at least.

  Hello - Im teaching my self javascript & jquery so this might be a bit of a low brow question or entirely too much code for anyone to wade through, but Im hoping for some feedback. I have looked around and haven't found a thread that looks like it will deals neatly with my question. Im using the cms indexhibit (cant create a new tag!) and trying to create an accordion style menu from the menu list it generates. I basically have the behaviour Im after, modifying an existing bit of work but there are quite a few foibles, which are no doubt a conflict between the .click and .toggle and a confused use if statements. I basically want to start from scratch and redo this so I can a) learn from my mistakes b) understand what's happening. Im having trouble now because I dont know where to go from here, or how to trouble shoot it. Can anyone give me a quick analysis how the the script in the head of the document work together? Also any insight into the nature of the conflicts Im seeing and what approach might take to remedy them? If you were going to start afresh what would be your approach? • How to create a new ID for the new added node?

  Hi, I can normally get the ID of the default tree nodes but my problem is onCreate then jsTree will add a new node but it doesn't have an ID. My question is how can I add an ID to the newly created tree node? What I'm thinking to do is adding the ID HTML attribute to the newly created tree node but how? I need to get the ID of all of the nodes because it will serve as a reference for the node's respective div storage. • jquery vote up down, request for some help

  I want to make some changes in the following piece of code. The demo of the code can be seen here. http://cyberbuff.noadsfree.com/lab/reddit_votes/ The above example shows calculated number of votes (vote ups - votes down). And when you click on any thumbe, it disappears the thumbs and shows the updated votes. I want to make changes that in begining it shows vote up and vote down separately (which are stored in database separately). and after thumb up or down is pressed, it should not remove the thumbs, but it should show the updated vote up and down separatetly.   I have a dropdown menu that pulls in text from a database column. The database column can include HTML mark-up. In the drop-down I obviously don't need that in the text. I am working on some jquery and it partially accomplished what I'm looking for. I have a problem now and these are the steps reproduce the error 1) Do Focus on Input Name 2) Press Tab 3) If you hover and then do click with the mouse in any of the select options, they can not be selected with the mouse click This is the only error, it works perfectly if you move the arrows up and down and then you press the enter o tab, i want to to be able to select the option also with the mouse click after i do the focus with the tab button in the customized select Technically the problem is that the hover with the keyboards up and down is different when i hover with the mouse in the select-options. I'm trying to use Jquery so that when the mouse enters the parent DIV box, the child element is made visible, and then hides when the mouse leaves the parent DV. • Changing stylesheet href with jQuery doesn't quite work

  I'm creating a web app that user will be accessing in the field, so they'd like to be able to manually toggle the styles from light to dark depending on the ambient lighting. I'm using jQuery. I added an id attribute to my stylesheet, then created a button using the toggle() event, in which I change the href attribute to the CSS file I want. The CSS file has several @import directives as I split the styles into several files for maintainability. My problem is only the main CSS file is being applied. I tried using the absolute path in the @import directives, but no luck. Is there a fix here I'm missing, or do I have to inlcude everything in a single CSS file? Edit: Apprently this is only a problem in IE8, works fine in Chrome and Firefox. Unfortunately, my client wants only IE8. Looks like this is a duplicate of this question.

• JQuery Accordion - bottom-up in stead of top-down

  Hi there, I have a question about the accordion plugin for jQuery. Basically, I've got it to work on my site nicely, there's just one thing that I'd have liked it to do and that is bottom-up opening in stead of top-down. What I mean by that is that my 3 buttons just stand in the vertical menu (div) in the bottom. And when you click it, they'll slide open but upwards, not downwards. Is there a way to achieve this easily? I've gone through the documentation, but can't find any native support for it, so I was wondering if it was possible to do it in the javascript of the plugin itself. Thanks in advance.

It's what I want. But the question is, if I want to add another LI element to this string (htmlstr) how can I do? I set s = new html string but htmlstr doesn't change. Thanks
