• How to structure Python package that contains Cython code

  I'd like to make a Python package containing some Cython code. I've got the the Cython code working nicely. However, now I want to know how best to package it. For most people who just want to install the package, I'd like to include the .c file that Cython creates, and arrange for setup.py to compile that to produce the module. Then the user doesn't need Cython installed in order to install the package. But for people who may want to modify the package, I'd also like to provide the Cython .pyx files, and somehow also allow for setup.py to build them using Cython (so those users would need Cython installed). How should I structure the files in the package to cater for both these scenarios? The Cython documentation gives a little guidance. But it doesn't say how to make a single setup.py that handles both the with/without Cython cases.

  Hi, I have a simple question about adding references to a .NET project. I'm adding reCAPTCHA to a website and i have downloaded the dll. • Filtering by category in Magento 1.4

  Hi All I have a custom module I made to show featured products on the homepage. I set it up to show products that are in a ‘featured’ category. It works fine in 1.3, but now in 1.4 I get the following error: SQLSTATE[42S22]: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column ‘e.category_ids’ in ‘where clause’ Here’s my code: $_productCollection = Mage::getResourceModel('reports/product_collection') ->addAttributeToSelect('*') ->addAttributeToFilter('visibility', $visibility) ->addAttributeToFilter('category_ids',array('finset'=>$featuredcategory)) $_productCollection->load(); The featured category is specified from the admin. • Can't parse a 1904 date in ARPA format (email date)

  I'm processing an IMAP mailbox and running into trouble parsing the dates using the mxDateTime package. • Localize node texts in treeview using resource files

  For a project I need a tree view that allows the user to select a module, which then is displayed in a content area. The project relies heavily on localization and this is provided by the resource files. Now I discovered today, that the text that are assigned to preset tree view nodes are not contained in the resource files. So the question is whether there is a way of doing this, short of mapping the elemenst in code. I.e. assigning a name to the node, running over all nodes and pulling the resources from the resouce manager based on the node name. • Using a helper method in a mailer that is defined in a controller

  The helper method current_user is defined and made available as a helper in ApplicationController like this: class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base helper_method :current_user def current_user return @current_user if defined?(@current_user) @current_user = current_user_session && current_user_session.record end end My question is how I can use the current_user helper method in a mailer template (obviously it will always return nil, but I'm trying to render a partial that depends on it). Normally when I want to use helpers in a mailer, I do something like add_template_helper(SongsHelper), but since the helper is defined in a class instead of a module I'm not sure what to do

• Robustly killing Windows programs stuck reporting 'problems'

  I am looking for a means to kill a Windows exe program that, when being tested from a python script, crashes and presents a dialog to the user; as this program is invoked many times, and may crash repeatedly, this is not suitable. The problem dialog is the standard reporting of a Windows error: "Foo.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" and offers a Debug, Send Error Report, and Don't Send buttons. I am able to kill other forms of dialog resulting from crashes (e.g. a Debug build's assert failure dialog is OK.) I have tried taskkill.exe, pskill, and the terminate() function on the Popen object from the subprocess module that was used to invoke the .exe Has anyone encountered this specific issue, and found a resolution? I expect automating user input to select the window, and press the "Don't Send" button is one possible solution, but I would like something far simpler if possible

  Is there a Pool class for worker threads, similar to the multiprocessing module's Pool class? I like for example the easy way to parallelize a map function def long_running_func(p): c_func_no_gil(p) p = multiprocessing.Pool(4) xs = p.map(long_running_func, range(100)) however I would like to do it without the overhead of creating new processes. I know about the GIL. However, in my usecase, the function will be an IO-bound C function for which the python wrapper will release the GIL before the actual function call. Do I have to write my own threading pool?

  I am working on a basic shell interpreter to familiarize myself with Rust. • Drupal - no self-linking

  So, I've added several pages to my Drupal install and linking to the pages using URL aliases via the Path module. So far so good - http://mydrupal/node/1 becomes http://mydrupal/about which is exactly what I'm looking for. Then I'm adding these links to the primary navigation and outputting the primary links via a custom theme (copy and paste the primary link code from the Chameleon theme). Here's the problem: when viewing http://mydrupal/about the page links to itself - that is the "About" link at http://mydrupal/about is still linking to http://mydrupal/about - the behavior I'm looking for is to have the "About" text display without a link. In summary: how do I prevent self-linking of pages when displaying the primary navigation?

• Can I use Sikuli as an Jython library in my project?

  Sikuli is really cool, but it's working in its buildin Jython environment, the Sikuli IDE. So I m wondering is it possible to import Sikuli as an external library to my Jython library? I saw from Sikuli's website that they have this Python module which provides all Sikuli actions like click and type. Did find: /eclipse_3.4.2/workspace/Jython/src/tmplib/libVDictProxy.jnilib: no matching architecture in universal wrapper I m using Jython 2.2.1 and Mac 10.6.2 (32-bit mode).   I would like to execute a frame redirect in C# from my managed module for the IIS 7. When I call context.Response.Redirect(@"http://www.myRedirect.org");the correct page is shown but also the address is shown in the browser. And that is exactly what I do not want. • Drupal - Lightbox -> iframe node displaying entire website with views

  I am attempting to make a view that would list thumbnails of my projects, then when clicking them enlarge the photo using lightbox and list out some text and a link to the website. I am not sure if there is a way I can just add text to the lightbox using views so right now I have it using a field for Lightbox2 iframe: thumb200wh-node page. Open my entire website again in the lightbox instead of just the node: http://jeffkilroy.com/portfolio_boxes Is there a way to just display the node from the views module or is there a way to just use an image but modify the description so that I can put text in?

• Pre-generating GUIDs for use in python?

  I have a python program that needs to generate several guids and hand them back with some other data to a client over the network. It may be hit with a lot of requests in a short time period and I would like the latency to be as low as reasonably possible. Ideally, rather than generating new guids on the fly as the client waits for a response, I would rather be bulk-generating a list of guids in the background that is continually replenished so that I always have pre-generated ones ready to hand out. I am using the uuid module in python on linux. I understand that this is using the uuidd daemon to get uuids. Does uuidd already take care of pre-genreating uuids so that it always has some ready? From the documentation it appears that it does not. Is there some setting in python or with uuidd to get it to do this automatically? Is there a more elegant approach then manually creating a background thread in my program that maintains a list of uuids?

• Setup Project is not correctly registering assembly in GAC

  I have created a custom Rewrite Provider for IIS 7 following instructions in this article: Developing a Custom Rewrite Provider for URL Rewrite Module To simplify deployment, I have created a VS2010 Setup Project and configured it to deploy my assembly to GAC. When I run the installer, it completes successfully, and appears to be registered the assembly in GAC (I have verified using gacutil.exe /l). However, when I go to IIS Manager to register the new rewrite provider it is not displayed in the list of available providers. I have also tried to install the assembly manually using gacutil.exe /if. This does work and makes assembly visible in the list of available providers in IIS Manager. Am I missing some sort of configuration in my Setup Project?

  My project contains 2 source folder, one is generic J2EE application another is smartCleintGWT, I want to use some already existing DTO classes from first source folder (src) Note that class used on client side and on server side of GWT project! Source is available obviously; is there any way to import all that into GWT? PS In the future 2 source folder will be separated into 2 projects...I hope it wont be that complicated as well.

• sqlite with Perl for Windows; suitable for relocation

  I need to set up sqllite for Perl on a Windows box. However - Perl is probably being run over the network from a central server, and I do not know what modules will be available on initial running of my script. I can guarantee Perl 5.8+ (activestate) or Perl 5.10+ (strawberry). Therefore, I need to package sqlite & the associated Perl module(s) in the project directory itself. Having Goggled around, I don't see any immediate zipfile to do this.

• How to stop the Bottle webserver when started from subprocess

  Hello all, I would like to embed the great Bottle web framework into a small application (1st target is Windows OS). This app starts the bottle webserver thanks to the subprocess module. import subprocess p = subprocess.Popen('python websrv.py') The bottle app is quite simple @route("/") def index(): return template('index') run(reloader=True) It starts the default webserver into a Windows console. All seems Ok except the fact that I must press Ctrl-C to close the bottle webserver. I would like that the master app terminates the webserver when it shutdowns. I can't find a way to do that (p.terminate() doesn't work in this case unfortunately) Any idea? Thanks in advance

• Is there a way to rewrite a url to go to a file stored in the filefield of the node

  I have a custom content-type called 'document' On this content-type, I have a File field where a user can upload a document. Assume the path to a document node is /somesite/document/tester I would like to be able to link to /somesite/document/tester/file and it automatically go to the file that is uploaded to the file field of the node. I have tried the url_alter module and am able to get the correct url of the document but when it tries to go there, it says not found. It seems that my redirection is still trying to be rewritten with pathauto or something. Ulitamtely, we want to have a consistent url for these documents so that a user can upload a replacement document and we can still use the same urls. Any ideas?
