  Hi all, My app Windows forms .NET in Win XP copy files pdfs in shared network folder in a server win 2003. Admin user in Win2003 detects some corrupt files pdfs, in that shared folder. I want check if a fileis copied right in shared folder Andre Krijen says me the best way is to create a MD5Hash of original file. When the file is copied, verify the MD5Hash file of the copied one with the original one. I have big pdf files. apply md5 hash about big file, any performance problem ??   I'm developing blog speaker app. I wanna pause the audio when bluetooth is disabled like iPod app. I thought it's not possible without using private api after reading this. Check if Bluetooth is Enabled? But, my customer told me that Rhapsody and DI Radio apps both support it. Then I found iOS5 has Core Bluetooth framework. https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/CoreBluetooth/Reference/CoreBluetooth_Framework/CoreBluetooth_Framework.pdf CBCentralManagerStatePoweredOff status seems like the one. But, the description says this api only supports Bluetooth 4.0 low energy devices. Did anyone try doing the same thing? I want to support current popular bluetooth headsets, or bluetooth enabled steering wheel on the car. I don't know if it's worth trying when it only supports some brand new bluetooth.

  Is there a quick and dirty way to print(to dead trees) selected code (C in this case) snippets? In particular, I wanted to print about 200 lines worth of code, but print dialog only offers printing of particular pages or all pages, but not selected text! Of course, one can copy and paste into another editor, but that seems rather harsh. Also, one can output the whole shebang to .pdf but that again seems a way of doing things wrong. Perhaps there is a better way? System: Ubuntu 10.04, Eclipse 3.5 with CDT, Subversive plugin

• How do I prevent a font from extending off the top of a textbox?

  I'm using a barcode font (IDAutomationMC39H) in an SSRS 2005 report I'm developing, and while it renders fine in the preview in BIDS, if I export the results to PDF, print the results, or do any of the above (including preview) in Report Manager, the barcode font is extending off the top of the textbox. The barcode itself is nearly 20px tall, even at only a 12pt size. I've tried changing the CanGrow value for the textbox, but it seems that even with that set off the barcode isn't pushing the bottom edge of the textbox downwards, it's simply extending over the top of the box. I've also tried resizing the textbox to allow it to contain the entire height of the font, but even with the VerticalAlign set to Bottom the barcode still sticks to the top of the textbox and overflows out the top. • Resizing page format on iReport

  I've been trying to print a pdf made from iReport in less than a page A4. it's like half A4 page height. I'm using a Line Matrix printer, doesn't matter which one. So, when I try to print 2 files at same file, it should print everything on the right place, but just first file is printed correctly. The second one is based on a A4 page format, and just starts printing after A4 page height is over, skipping a big blank. Where can I set the size of page in iReport? The only thing I could do was setting size of what is shown on screen while I edit the file. I tried my best to explain the situation, any doubts, ask me and I'll try even harder.

  Hi, I'm new to web programming, so I need some help. I am writing a custom file-creation app for my site. A user visits the page, clicks on some various options and toggles some checkboxes, and the presses a 'download now' link. I have a PHP backend which will be processing the submission, and generating a PDF file. After the user presses the download link, I want the download to start like it would for any static link. My question is: What is the best way to do this? From my limited understanding, I have a choice between using AJAX or somehow using forms to submit the data. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? Does anyone have any good links to examples? Thanks

  A potential employer requires me to take an online aptitude test before my interview (in this case the test is for C, from Previsor). Where can I take the same (or similar) test so I have a rough idea on what I should brush up on? I've taken a similar test for C++ previously, so I have some idea of what to expect. I've also been studying my C books thoroughly (especially the required material as described in the PDF), but I feel it would be a good idea to get a feel for the particular test before taking it. I did a quick search on Brainbench, but they don't seem to have a C test, unless I'm mistaken (only C++). Note: I'm happy to pay to take a test if no decent free ones are available.

  Hi Guys, I have a similar issue.. I have HTML stored in DB clob. I am retrieving that and converting to XHTML using TIDY.jar. Once i got XHTML then using FOP i am converting to XSL-FO. Finally XSL-FO is rendering in PDF. Previously everything is working fine with Linux-WAS5-java1.4. Recently we migrated the apps to Linux-WAS6-Java1.5. Now XHTML to XSL-FO is messing up everything. XSL-FO contains ???(Question marks) in the place of Euro, spase(nbsp), Agrave, egrave ..etc. I tried changing the JVM encoding to UTF-8 and also i have modified my servlet request and response to support UTF-8. I am helfless and unable to figure where exactly the issue is coming out. Can someone please check this and suggest me some solution. Thanks in advance

  Hi all I have a website running on a IIS 7.5 server with ASP.NET 4.0 on a shared host, but in full trust. The site is a basic "file browser" that allows the visitors to login and have a list of files available to them displayed, and, obviously, download the files. The static files (mostly pdf files) are located in a sub folder on the site called data, e.g. http://example.com/data/... The site uses ASP.NET form authentication. My question is: How do I get the ASP.NET engine to handle the requests for the static files in the data folder, so that request for files are authenticated by ASP.NET, and users are not able to deep link to a file and grab files they are not allowed to have? • Qt4.6: QTextDocument <HR> tag prints only very thin, almost invisible hair lines

  When printing a QTextDocument with doc->print() I almost cannot see the horizontal rules inserted by <hr>. When printing to PDF these are clearly visible. But when printed to a printer these lines are very very thin lines, almost invisible on the paper. How do I fix this? I currently helped myself by inserting an <img> with a black pixel but this is very cumbersome as I have to exactly figure out the proper pixel width by trial and error.

  Hi, I'm looking for a way to open encrypted files that are stored on a server. I'm using mcrypt to encrypt the files. I was initially going to create a class that would open the file, decrypt it, write it to a new location, then open that. But I have convinced myself there is a better way (I just don't know what it is). It seems like there should be a way to stream it (?) to the browser once it's decrypted. The initial setup would just link to the file location and the browser would take over (e.g. .pdf files would bring up a dialogue offering to open or save the file). If possible, I'd like it to do the same after decoding. Pointers? Advice? Bueller? Thanks!

  Applications can have any number of launchable activities. I know how to get the list of these activities via PackageManager. Is there a way to determine which activities can be launched via startActivity? For example, the Documents To Go app has different activities that will start Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, etc... I am able to launch all o these just fine. However, it also contains some activities that I am not able to launch with startActivity... If I attempt to do this I get a SecurityException. I want to be able to determine which activities I can safely launch and which I cannot so I only present the user with a list of activities that I can safely launch from within my application... Is this possible?

  This is not really a programming question, but I try here none the less. I once used latex for my reports. But the people I work with needs to make small edits and do not have latex skillz. Openoffice is then the way to go. But saving ggplot images with dpi 100 makes for really ugly graphs. dpi = 600 is a no go (e.g. huge legend). So what to do? I currently save (still via ggsave) to eps - which openoffice can import. But performance is not good at all. Googling I found a bug for the poor eps performance in OOo, and also talk about a non-implemented svg feature. But none helps me right now. If you work with ggplot2 and OOo - What do you do? I have been unsuccesfull with pdf conversion for some reason.

• iOS CollectionView with horizontal paging instead of vertical scrolling

  I'm working on a project for a client. It's an iPad pdf reader. The client wants a collection view, but instead of scrolling vertically, he wants it to use a page control. It's pretty hard to explain, but what I basically want is all the PDFs on the device in a grid, like on the iBooks app. When that grid overflows, I want to use a page control to display the extra elements on a second page (like in the weather app). My thoughts on this were: - Create a page control with one page. - On that page, create a UICollectionView. - If the number of elements is greater than 9 add a page to the page control and add another UICollectionView, until there are enough pages to display all elements. However, this seems horribly inefficient, so my question is if there's a better way to do this.

• How to display a PostScript file in a Python GUI application.

  I would like to build a cross-platform GUI application in Python that displays PostScript files I generate, among some other stuff. What is the best way to accomplish this? Ideally I would be able to do things like zoom and pan the displayed graphic. Do any/some/all of the GUI toolkits have something I can drop in to do this, and if so what are they called and how do they work? If necessary, I can convert the postscript file to PDF or a raster format behind the scenes, but I'd rather not do the latter.
